Is Sharia4Belgium fighting in Syria?

I think at this point to call what is happening in Syria a ‘civil war’ is preposterous. This is the Ummah fighting for control of another country to be part of a theocratic caliphate.

Mon 11/03/2013 – 11:38 Colin Clapson There are reports that members of the disbanded Muslim extremist group Sharia4Belgium are taking part in the fighting in Syria. The Belgian daily De Standaard says that the security services are concerned about what may happen when these fighters return to Belgium.

The daily speaks of some seventy youngsters aged between 17 and 25 being involved in the Syrian civil war. The youngsters are believed to come from Brussels and Flemish cities including Antwerp, Mechelen and Vilvoorde.

Most of the youngsters set off to join the opposition against President Assad. The youngsters are not being deployed by the Free Syrian Army, but are active in extremist Salafist groups opposed to Assad’s Alawite regime.

  1. And as soon as they gain control of Syria they will move on Jordan or the Gulf States.

  2. 3 Muslim jihadistsaccused of plotting imminent terrorist bombing in France; 1 contacted White House

PARIS – A Paris prosecutor says three young Frenchmen detained last week were plotting an imminent bomb attack in France.

Prosecutor Francois Molins said Monday that one of the men had caught the attention of U.S. authorities by sending an email message to the White House. Molins didn’t elaborate and the U.S. Embassy in France had no immediate comment.

Molins said the three men were in part inspired by Mohamed Merah, a gunman espousing radical Islam who killed Jewish schoolchildren and French paratroopers in a shocking rampage in Toulouse a year ago.

Molins told reporters that the three men appeared to be plotting an attack on an unspecified French target “in the coming days” and are facing preliminary terrorism charges. They were detained Thursday in the southern city of Marignane.

  3. “the security services are concerned about what may happen when these fighters return to Belgium”

Surely the sensible course would be to prevent them returning to Belgium, or anywhere else in Europe. Why are the authorities always so lacking in savvy?

  4. I’d rather the entire Western Muslim population went over there to fight than stay here. It’s a form of population control. Any takers? What about you, Anjem Choudary?

  5. “The Belgian daily De Standaard says that the security services are concerned about what may happen when these fighters return to Belgium.” I doubt that. Like belgian authorities are always quick as lightning to drop their pants and bend over for muslim excesses, this time also, if needed, they will be more than happy to sacrifice the autochthon population to accommodate them.

  6. I seem to remember we ran a feature on this about a year ago, highlighting the dark spots on campus- looking at broken lights, and areas where there were no lights at all. As for the uni saying the campus isn’t badly lit- when do they walk around campus at night, or down Windmill Lane?

York feels deceptively safe, especially if you’re from a city where the ‘threat’ of rape or attack is much more tangible, but as this article points out, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen.
