I used to find the EUSSR trope tedious, but now…
Take a close look at this promotional poster. Notice anything? Alongside the symbols of Christianity, Judaism, Jainism and so on is one of the wickedest emblems humanity has conceived: the hammer and sickle.
For three generations, the badge of the Soviet revolution meant poverty, slavery, torture and death. It adorned the caps of the chekas who came in the night. It opened and closed the propaganda films which hid the famines. It advertised the people’s courts where victims of purges and show-trials were condemned. It fluttered over the re-education camps and the gulags. For hundreds of millions of Europeans, it was a symbol of foreign occupation. Hungary, Lithuania and Moldova have banned its use, and various former communist countries want it to be treated in the same way as Nazi insignia.
The problem is that Communism and Islam don’t share.
And notice that communism at the very top. How nice. That puts the lie to the whole concept of sharing expressed in the rest of the poster.
Just like OWS. Everyone was welcome as long as they refused to notice that they were being controlled by a small clique.
And notice that the Communist symbol is the ONLY political symbol. So communism can share power with religions but no other political ideologies will be allowed in this new Europe?
It’s also subtle propoganda. Saying that communism endorses freedom of religion. Also that it is a “minority” deserving of the sort of rights given to religeons.
Why not just go whole hog and draw a swastica.
I like the design, but it needs two minor changes. Remove all the sickles and remove all the Islamic crescent moon and stars. It would then be perfect. I would be quite willing to share Europe with everyone else.
No commies, no Muslims.
“Om” signs? Japanese Tori doors? And crosses next to hammers and sickles? I wanted to make a comment to this felony, but I am so angry that nothing comes to my mind except utterly destructive thoughts.
The fall of the Soviet Union didn’t end Marxism, in fact our home grown Marxists in the media insured that with their calls to not talk about winners and losers, as well as their calls for no de-communism programs like the de-Nazi programs in Germany after the WWII.
In many ways the fall of the USSR made it easier for the Marxists because they could point to the fall and say communism had been destroyed. Then continue on with their program of turning Europe into a socialist hell hole. The left/Marxism is as great a danger as Islam and has two centers, China and Russia, granted both are nominally capitalist these days but both are using the Fascist idea of using regulations to control the economy and businesses rather then nationalize them. They are both following the fascist economic policies that created the current economic mess.
How is that the Nazis have been castigated for the misery they caused, and rightly so, but communists have got off Scott free for far far worse crimes. It is estimated that communists tortured, killed and starved to death around 150 million people in just 70 years. This is at least 5 times the body count the Nazis managed.
But here they are, safely ensconced in the corridors of power in the EU, earning huge salaries and gold plated pensions, peddling the same brand of dogma that was responsible for the worst massacre and multiple genocides in human history.
Soon it will be illegal to criticise Islam. If communism is a belief system, then it will be illegal to criticise it as well.
In the US, the communists are well and truly entrenched in the Democratic party. They are entrenched in Congress, control the Senate, the Supreme court is full of them, and there is someone in the White House who calls himself a Christian, but wears an Islamic ring.
As for Islam, USA is in far worse condition then Europe. Its situation is worse as Muslims are causing as much, if not more trouble then in Europe, though Muslims are far less as a fraction of the total population.
I can see a European fightback, but don’t see how Americans can fight back without trashing their constitution.
After WWII everyone saw photos of teh death camps, after the fall of the USSR we didn’t see photos of the gulag camps, the leftist in control of the media saw to that.
The Marxists took control of the Democrat party during the 1970s, most people didn’t realize this until after Obama took office and started his attempt to destroy the US.
The Constitution hasn’t been enforced for a long time, in fact right now we don’t have the rights of the Constitution, only those that politicians or Judges are willing to give us or afraid to remove.
