Assuming The Best About Muslims

Newsweek’s latest cover story, titled “Muslim Rage,” is meant to shock the average American — as if Muslim fury is a new phenomenon. “Muslim rage” is in fact a tedious redundancy. When are the followers of Islam not enraged?

Still, the politically correct media elite appear at long last to be suffering tolerance fatigue. They’ve finally grown weary of pretending Muslims aren’t what they do.

Some are even expressing disgust with the perpetually offended and violent Muslim community. If the gang rape of a “60 Minutes” correspondent in Tahrir Square wasn’t enough to turn their stomachs, the parading of an allegedly gay American ambassador’s naked corpse through the streets of Benghazi is.

CNN host Wolf Blitzer, in a spasm of honest frustration, blurted out:

“Why do these people hate America after all that the U.S. has done to liberate” them?

Answer: religion. Not, as the New York Times whines, because of B-movies. Or drone strikes. Or waterboarding. Or Gitmo. Or Iraq. Or Afghanistan. Or Hiroshima. Or the countless other excuses offered.

Is there a word limit on posts? I find that the post Comment button cannot be viewed if the comments are more then 100 words or so.

  2. Oh dear. I never though I would see the day when criticising a religion, Islam, would become illegal. So how did this come about? Islam is after all, a predatory beast in human society.

Let us look at other predatory beasts, such as lions, tigers, crocodiles etc, who were a menace to humans for epochs. But as humans became more intelligent and technologically advanced, they turned the tables on these predatory beasts. In the short space of a century, these predatory beasts became so few, that we had to declare them an endangered species, and ban their killing.

  3. contd..

We went further, we made huge areas of territory into wildlife and conservation parks, where these beasts could live without being shot by farmers. To make the venture pay, safari parks charged an entrance fee.

What I see is that Muslims are asking the world, that Islam is designated an “endangered culture”. The trouble I have in granting that demand is that Muslims are forever shouting, that there are 1.2 bn Muslims in the world, and Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world.

Still, it is satisfying to note that Islam feels that it is losing the war.

  4. I do not believe there is a word limit. Read Don L’s posts. Often well over 100 words and upwards of 250 I think. (Keep em coming Don)
