An Iranian athlete refused to shake the Duchess of Cambridge’s hand after she presented him with his discus silver medal on Sunday.

The Royal was warmly received on the podium by Paralympic GB’s gold medal winner Aled Davies and Chinese bronze medallist Lezheng Wang.

But when it was Mehrdad Karam Zadeh’s turn to step up, the 40-year-old failed to offer a hand to the Duchess, clutching them close to his chest.

  1. He refuses to shake Kates hand well then we refuse to give your country more money……..sheep shagger

  2. “Culture” be damned, muslims have no culture. It’s an insult plain & simple and if he insisted on abusing the host country’s culture he should have been given his medal behind the scenes with absolutely no fanfare. In my culture we do not treat women as second class citizens. I thought it was the same in Britain.

  3. She is far to beautiful to touch a dirty minded man like that. Her purity is intact 😉

  4. makes me laugh whenever muslims or libs link islam with culture. the only culture they have is their fridge.

  5. I clicked through to the DailyMailOnline or whatever, and yes, there’s an obvious cut in the video. I also read some of the comments, and not one of those I read did in fact notice said cut. People are inherently stupid, and they deserve every little bit of what’s coming to them.

  6. If I had refused to shake hands of a Muslim, specially a disabled one, I would be arrested for a hate crime and jailed.

  7. This is pure islamofobia! It’s OK to rape a girl or woman but not shake her hand, get it?? / sarc off

  8. I think he was just momentarily shocked by the fact that a woman was (just barely) willing to touch him. He should have taken the opportunity as it will be his last.

  9. The video can be found on youtube. You see him putting his hands to his chest and bowing in front of Ms Littleton. Then a man comes up and gives him flowers and he grabs the mans hand in both of his and shakes it warmly.

He is middle eastern after all- he’s probably just more used to taking men in his hands.
