Yezidi leader: Turkey will be forced to acknowledge genocide

President of World Yezidi Union, Aziz Tamoyan, has said that 500,000 Yezidis, as well as 1.5 million Armenians, were massacred by the Turks during 1915-1923.

Although the Armenian genocide is now widely recognized, outside of Turkey, the genocide of the Yezidis (sun worshippers) has long been ignored.

    “Tamoyan visited the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial to the Armenian genocide victims on April 24. There he told PanArmenian.com that the world will “force” Turkey to acknowledge the Armenian Genocide.

    The Yezidi leader said that his people had been reduced from 750,000 in 1915 to 5,000 today, with many Yezidis fleeing from West to East Armenia. “Armenians accepted them gladly, and we are grateful for that,” he said, but the Turks should realize that “Armenian Genocide was not committed by a single person”.”

  2. Getting any Moslem nation to acknowledge that they have committed a crime is as hard as getting a liberal to admit their political leaders can’t work miracles.
