 More Intolerance Toward Moderate Muslim Ahmadiyya Sect – Mosque Attacked In West Java

In January we reported on the plight of Ahmadiyya Muslims in Kirklees in the United Kingdom.  We would now like to show how the intolerance toward this peaceful Muslim group is more general, and indeed perhaps a global phenomenon.

The People of Shambhala website has recently drawn attention to the attack on a mosque used by Ahmadiyya Muslims in West Java, Indonesia.  It seems that the attack was motivated by a feeling of intolerance from the surrounding orthodox Muslim community who do not regard Ahmadiyyas as proper Muslims.  Quite what gives one group of Muslims the right to judge another is unclear, but we are familiar with persecution of what one group regard as heretics from our own European history.

  1. According to the 5-pages PDF document about the Ahmadiyya community: “Muhammad helped the poor, liberated slaves and established equal rights for women. (…) Muhammad led a simple, peaceful and pious life” “The holy Quran (…) is a comprehensive code of conduct for mankind” “Islam… it means ‘PEACE'” “Islam believes in all the prophets and religious teachers appointed by God, including Muhammad, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Krishna, Buddha, Confucius and Zaratustra (peace be upon them all).

    Has anybody at the ICLA ever heard about Sharia, Jihad, and things like that? Perhaps the ICLAns should thumb through the Koran, the Hadiths and the Sira before calling upon western govs to support such an exorbitant and incredible example of taqiyya.

    “The Buddhists (awaited the advent of) the Buddha.” This is perhaps the biggest lie in the whole document. There were no buddhists before the Buddha, and neither was Buddha appointed by any god. As a buddhist, one personally finds this shameless and insulting.

    One has to read it many times. It is simply unbelievable.

    “In Islam there’s no room for terrorism in any form” – very tricky assertion. Suicide bombers really do not see themselves as terrorists, but as soldiers fighting jihad for the sake of Allah. Only westerners see them as terrorists. Damn, How very tricky… there are many pitfalls like this in the doc.
