I have always wondered about that. After all, as a multicultural society, shouldn’t we allow people to drive on whatever side of the road they are more comfortable with? The majority of the worlds population in fact drives on the left-hand side. So why don’t we allow it? I can’t see any problems arising from this. Who are we to say you have to drive on the right hand side? That is plain racist.

A jockey from Dubai has been jailed for mowing down and killing a toddler after he forget which side of the road to drive on.
Ahmed Aldubaili, 31, was sentenced to two years in prison after causing the crash which killed three-year-old Henry Blacklock and left his father permanently disabled.
He ploughed his friend’s Jaguar into Martin Blacklock’s Renault Clio as they drove through a quiet country village in Cambridgeshire.
Henry’s mother Clare Segar, 37, today told how she was still heartbroken her daughter would grow up without any memories of her older brother.
‘The kids often talk about Henry and ask me where he is which is very upsetting,’ she said.
‘But what I find really sad is that Henry’s sister Jasmin never got a chance to know Henry.
‘She was only nine months when he died so does not really remember him.
‘He loved her very much and I just wish they had a chance to grow up together and be like any other brother and sister.
‘I actually think his sentence was probably fair as he has to live with the guilt of killing my son for the rest of his life.’
In court John Farmer, prosecuting, explained a witness had seen a car being driven by Aldubaili on the wrong side of the road, in the village of Ashley, at 7pm on October 23, 2010.

I’m sure the Muslim is sorry for all the trouble that he, the Muslim, has had to go through. As far as a Muslim feeling guilty for killing a kuffar…..not likely.

Unlikely he will have much guilt. Having lived in Dubai and experienced the callous arrogance of the people who live there, and having known people killed on the roads who never received justice I think this man will not give a damn really.
Dubai has some of the highest road fatalities in the world. Despite claiming to be a developed and modern city it is simply a Bedouin club with lots of oil. It’s legal system is about 100 years behind any comparable city, it’s tribal/race/religion based favouritism of it’s own people even when deadly crimes like murder and rape are committed is shocking.
Two years is an insult. I think he should be put away for a decade…more even. I know these people, how reckless they drive – how they feel they own the road. Utter scum. After two years he’ll go back to his life of privilege and wealth, while the parents of the toddler he killed will still be struggling with their loss.
How about we apply their laws and ask him to ask pay “blood money” to the toddler’s family?
Anyone who thinks he will actually serve the two years needs psychiatry.
