I vote for the Queen of the Cat People

Now here is what activism looks like. One brave and imaginative Canadian actually did what many of us think of doing and never have the raw stones to actually go and do. If only enough of us had what it takes to do things like this, we could force lazy and cowardly legislators to make laws reasonable again. One simply should not be allowed to vote, drive, or be in secure areas with ones face covered. Our culture is inherently one of openness and to submit to intimidation from any religious group to change that does a disservice to all of us.

I have always advocated more freedoms as the solution to Islam in the West, not less. Instead of France outlawing the Burka, I think they should re-institute the notion that shopkeepers, bank tellers and so on have a right to discriminate as to who may enter their premises. That would make burkas so inconvenient that no one would wear them very quickly. But where laws need to apply, they need to apply equally. In a perverse way, in the video below, they do. But in this context, Neither Muslims nor Cat people should be allowed to vote, enter a bank or secured area, or ride public transportation for that matter.

  1. If the situation weren’t so serious the video would be hilarious, instead it is scary.

  2. I was surprised at how pleasant and competent the polling station staff were. Here in England they would have probably called the police.

  3. If they cover their face unneccessarily, they should only socialise or talk to other people who cover their face. That is only fair.

  4. Well, folks, the way I see it, they can cover themselves up as much as they want, but NOT IN OUR WESTERN NATIONS !

  5. Lee: Canadians are hopelessly polite. In fact I think we are basically hobbits. Doubly so for anyone east of the province of Quebec and quadruple for Newfoundlanders. But I wonder how much the camera had to do with that and the general climate of fear we have now with the HRC’s and a government which charges people for crimes defined after the fact. (Section 13 must do this as no one can know what may subject someone to hatred until someone decides it did)

I am thinking of a project to test these things. Will keep you informed.

  6. Even those moslems who don’t cover their faces or heads are just as bad with their other various nasty tactics to gain unfair advantage over us nonbelievers.
