UPDATE 1: LOS ANGELES (AP) – Los Angeles police have detained a man near the North Hollywood synagogue where two people were shot in the legs. Officer Rosario Herrera says she’s not sure if the arrest is connected to the shooting Thursday at the Adat Yeshurun Valley Sephardic synagogue.
UPDATE 2 : Patrols boosted at Jewish temples after LA attack – Police have put extra patrols at Jewish schools and temples in Los Angeles after a gunman shot and wounded two men inside a synagogue parking garage.

UPDATE 3: (ATLAS)  Obama’s America: Two Jews Shot as Gunman attacks LA synagogue : The victims, both Jewish, were transported to a local hospital in stable condition, officials said. It’s believed the men, said to be in their 30s, were shot as they arrived at the temple for morning prayers.The suspect was described only as a black man.

Police had detained a teenager for questioning, but said they also were continuing to look for possible suspects. Deputy Chief Michael Moore says two members of Adat Yeshurun Valley Sephardic synagogue were shot in the legs as they were heading to services shortly before 6:30 a.m. Thursday. Moore says the gunman, a man in a hoodie, said nothing before opening fire.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Los Angeles police say two men have been shot in the legs at a North Hollywood synagogue.
Officer Rosario Herrera says a man with a handgun entered the Adat Yeshurun Valley Sephardic synagogue at about 6:20 a.m. Thursday and shot two people. Police are investigating the shooting as a hate crime.
The victims were taken to a hospital and police are searching for the gunman. It was not clear how many people were in the building at the time of the shooting.
No one answered a call to the synagogue.
