A Country on Fire

by Baron Bodissey

Malmö: burning carsMalmö seems to be turning into the Clichy-Sous-Bois of Scandinavia. According to Steen— who is referencing, among other things, an article in Sydsvenskan about recent car-burnings in Malmö — a total of six cars were set on fire in Malmö during the night on Thursday.

He adds that more than 5,000 cars will be set on fire in Sweden each year, and that more than 500 arson attacks on schools should be included in the annual statistics.

Everything’s in Danish or Swedish, and I didn’t have time to do more than get the gist of it. Scandinavian readers may go over to Snaphanen and ferret out the details.

Has anyone coined a Swedish word equivalent to the neologism “carbecue”?
