UPDATE: The Greek Government used violence to stop Golden Dawn from feeding people, because they only chose to feed Greeks. Better that everyone starve than discriminate for your own countrymen, even when the people they refused were illegals according to one article.

do you know what happens with a pendulum when it gains momentum?. It swings at a more severe angle, the higher it goes left the farther it will veer right, until it swings so far to one side that at it’s apex it is at the same degree on both sides. That is what is happening with Europe, whatever you wish to call the nazis, they swung sharply to one political side and carried out genocidal policies that killed tens of millions, mostly Europeans, after they hit their apex they were destroyed and then the pendulum started it’s ascent to the other side, all that we’ve seen for the past 70 years has been the pendulum swinging sharply to the other side of the nazis, it hasn’t yet reached it’s apex but when it does, a similar disaster will befall Europe. The golden dawn are nazis and represent the disaster of extremist politics that perpetually plague Europe, whether “right or left”. Who do you root for when nazis battle communists on the street in order to prop up a socialist welfare state payed for by nobody?

None of them. But the situation in Greece has gone to far, the elites are so stupid,so corrupt, there will be likely no chance for a decent party like UKIP, In the UK, there was the great manifestation of sypathy for Thatcher… I’m afraid.The Greeks lost not only most of their income, but also dignity and sensible middleground. The second I think is in hard times the most valuable. I wish I am wrong though.
@ Jean, that is the problem, there has been no middleground in Europe for 100 years now, WW 2 didn’t end when Berlin surrendered, it just entered a new phase, the Communists and the nazis were bitter enemies, The defeat of one ideology led to the continental ascent of the other. both politically and morally, being a marxist meant that you opposed genocide, so Marxism was allowed to take over all major institutions and the halls of power of every single European govt, whether in Western Europe or Eastern. It was the very rationale of the creation of the E.U. Ironically enough it is the Eastern European govts that have the least amount of problems due to the natural revulsion of communism post cold war. In Western Europe it has become like a chronic disease, destroying the host gradually, with fits and convulsions
This distinction between the Left and the Right is a totally false one. Remember the Socialist in “National Socialist”. Hitler, Stalin, etc etc etc, there policies were basically the same, with a little twist. It’s all against freedom of the individual, and power for the state. Up to now the power of the state has been used in a soft way, as they’ve bribed the individual to stay quiet.
Now that they can no longer do that, the mask is slipping.
Extremist parties are merely another flip of the same old coin, Golden Dawn are going to help people their way, with their policies, running their state for the good of the people. It’s just as doomed to fail.
Unfortunately people in desperation will do desperate things in their own perceived self interest.
It’s getting to the point now, when the only question is going to be, how many dead are going to have to be buried.
Maybe universal suffrage has a short shelf life.
