1. It’s nice to see some French standing up for their own survival. But she looses it when she said Macron is silent because “he lost control.” In fact macron is now getting the exact control he has been using French and European and by proxy, American money to achieve. The total revolution they have been working so hard for is finally manifesting itself. As Stephen Coughlin has said more than once, “We are in a state of political warfare, and political warfare ALWAYS becomes kinetic. and here it is. If she is still looking to the state to save France when the State has worked hard for years to create this situation, and if she is representative of the French, then they don’t stand a chance.
2. Some of you may remember Liberal MP Carolyn Parish. She was probably the most offensive MP at the time in the commons. She hollered obscenities at George Bush, then president of the US. Yes, Trump Derangement Syndrome is just the most recent iteration of Nixon derangement Syndrome, Raegan derangement, Bush derangement etc. It’s kinda fascinating how fast everyone forgets those versions. Nixon was subject to critical theory attacks that were arguably worse, although the state of law in the US was more intact then, so they couldn’t impeach, indict, and otherwise destroy him the way they did Trump during and after his first term.
In any case, Parish was horrid. She did real damage to Canada US relations back then, which was of course her intent.
Here she is again as Mayor of a Toronto satellite city, Mississauga
Here is CBC trying to absolve themselves from responsibility for Parish’s hatred of Americans on CBC, and mocking US news for noticing it.
Apparently they memory holed her hot mic moment about Americans, but Grok has the deets.
It happened on February 26, 2003, at the end of a media scrum on Parliament Hill after she spoke about Iraq and Canada’s UN efforts. A boom mic (and some cameras) captured “Damn Americans.” She then added “I hate those bastards” while walking away (some reports note the full second part was mainly audio after cameras were largely off). She laughed as she left.
Contemporary sources (CBC, CTV, Globe and Mail, Washington Post) all confirm the quote and that it was recorded. She later apologized in the House and to the U.S. ambassador, claiming it targeted the Bush administration rather than the American people. She also threatened a Globe reporter if the comment was published.
She appeared on Mike Bullard’s Open Mike show shortly afterward, where the tape was played for the studio audience (which applauded). No free public archive of that full Bullard appearance or the original scrum footage has turned up.
The closest available item is a paid stock footage clip on eFootage titled “Mississauga MP Controversial Comments” (dated Feb. 26, 2003). It shows her expressing disapproval of Bush’s Iraq plans and then the mic catching “Damn Americans.” It is not free.No free YouTube, CBC archive, or other public video of the exact hot-mic moment appears to be circulating. The incident is thoroughly documented in contemporary news reports, but the raw clip itself remains largely in private or commercial archives rather than freely accessible online.
3. So as far as I can gather here, the police were called by a Muslim teacher wearing a face cloth against an 11 year old boy who touched her in a way not in accordance with sharia. Which means probably an infidel boy touched her at all. This is in the UK of course. The boy was restrained by multiple large cops and cuffed.
4. France looks like a good place for a fall holiday…
5. Policy, not anomaly. What was that movie called again from earlier this year?
