Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.
This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.
So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

**New intelligence suggests a specific course of action concerning use of Substack. For a variety of reasons, who owns it, and who owns the ONLY company that monetizes authors on Substack, the question for us has always been, ‘Why is Substack allowed to exist?” I believe the answer is now known to us. It collects data on you and who you are connected to. Substack does have the best writers out there for counter-narrative views, and does allow the authors to make money at it. Which is suspicious already. But the reasons were made known to us by a Cyber-security professional. The solution seems to be to use a dedicated browser, ONLY for substack. There are many good ones out there now. So downloading another browser is easy. Get the DuckduckGo go one, or Brave or one of many others and use it ONLY for substack and clear cookies after use. Like washing your plate after you eat.

This site operates more at the philosophical level of the communist/Islamic revolution which is obliterating Western Civilization. Politics, culture, law are all down stream from philosophy. Understanding the philosophy of the attack is to understand what is an attack and develop tactics, both individually and collectively against them. We as humans communicate mostly via conventions. In other words, we decide what a word means by what we, as a culture want it to mean, then fix the term as a convention via a dictionary
or other means so we can express what we want to each other and be understood. It’s a group process more or less but based on what we want expressions, words, concepts and taxonomy to mean.
Dialectics is the imposition of meaning on existing terms for a political outcome which is destructive to what we all consider meaning. It is a complete hijacking of Meaning.
This also applies to taxonomy. The most underrated aspect of epistemology. Of how we see ourselves. Of how we understand the world, via categories. Via labels.
Dialectical taxonomy is what forces us to change everything we think about sexuality and accept political sexuality such as the Trans-movement.
Or somehow convincing everyone that the German National Socialist Worker’s Party is somehow “far right wing”, which may be the most masterful dialectical con of the 20th century.
This deserves a proper essay. But I just want to get the thought out there.
Imposing, forcing meaning on us. Changing terms to mean what a group of tyrants what us to think they mean as opposed to what they do mean and more or less always have meant.
Making words mean something other than what we meant them to mean, then banning or criminalizing them because of their imputed meaning, even though they were good, useful terms that helped hold our culture together.
Attacking us for using perfectly good words with important meanings, then telling us what we meant by what we said, then cancelling us for it in the pre-revolutionary stage, and now in the UK outright arrest you now that the revolution is all but complete.
That is dialectics.

Today, prosecutors arrived without prior notice at the data center hosting Fidesz’s servers, intending to seize the party’s entire communications system and databases. Nothing like this has happened in Hungary since the end of communism in 1990.
It is becoming increasingly clear that Hungary’s Brussels-backed liberal authoritarian Prime Minister intends to eliminate his democratic political opponents, crush all resistance to his arbitrary actions, and use the country’s law enforcement authorities as instruments to achieve that goal.
The question is simple: Will there still be free elections in Hungary, or will anyone who dares to run against the Tisza Party simply end up in prison?
Aren’t the enlightened Western politicians and opinion leaders who support this even remotely ashamed?

Today the sky is silver white. Gloomy day.
I remember even back in the 80s, sometimes in the spring, the sky would have what I called, The Fluorescent Light effect.
There would be a uniform layer of cloud so think you could not tell where the sun was, and it dispersed the light across the whole sky basically evenly.
It was creepy.
But in the last week, I notice that the sky, on at least one day, had a very similar look but more silvery. I remarked on it to a friend on the phone. A look I don’t remember ever seeing before.
A day or more after that, the air turned brownish grey and smelled like charcoal and burned meat. Turns out to be this summer’s spate of state-set fires and destruction of forests. Probably for trivial reasons. Which makes the death of all that wildlife so much more tragic.
Whatever the details on this is, its caused by the state and its purpose is not to make things better.

What the U.S. and Iran Are Fighting Over
Gen. Ahmad Vahidi, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), is a die-hard jihadi. For him, the officials negotiating with Washington serve as infidel handlers: officials who translate the demands of the IRGC into language acceptable to Western diplomats.
The IRGC struck ships that transited the Strait of Hormuz without coordinating with it to enforce Vahidi’s interpretation of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed in mid-June. Vahidi never accepted the U.S. view that Iran would reopen the strait and treat it as an international waterway rather than a sovereign asset.
Trump has opted for a campaign of calibrated escalation designed to force Vahidi to accept the American definition of the MoU, seeking to impose enough pain to make the status quo untenable without igniting a wider regional war. But this theory expects Vahidi to place the welfare of Iranian society above the institutional interests of the IRGC.
Trump’s ongoing campaign is unlikely to eliminate the drone threat. Intermittent drone attacks on commercial shipping are enough to drive insurers from the market and achieve severe disruption. Vahidi recently struck a desalination plant in Kuwait with ballistic missiles that are also hard to eradicate.
This reveals how profoundly warfare has changed. The era in which U.S. airpower could rapidly neutralize a regional adversary at acceptable cost is ending. It is being replaced by a more contested, attritional environment in which weaker states can buy time and impose significant costs.
These battlefield realities are already reshaping American strategy. Washington will increasingly prize allies that possess battle-tested militaries, functioning defense industries, advanced intelligence, and practical experience defeating missiles, drones, and hardened targets. It will prize, above all, allies that help the U.S. understand and counter the emerging Sino-Russian-Iranian military system. Israel meets those criteria. Very few others do.

Why Jerusalem Is Increasingly Wary of Erdogan’s Turkey
Israel’s relations with Turkey have deteriorated for years, but since Oct. 7 they have entered entirely new territory. At Eid al-Fitr prayers in Istanbul in March 2025, President Erdogan prayed: “May Allah…destroy and devastate Zionist Israel.” These are not words expressing policy differences.
That matters because Turkey is not simply another critic of Israel. It is NATO’s second-largest military power, occupies a strategically important geographical position, and continues to enjoy considerable influence in Washington. Israel therefore faces the challenge of an increasingly hostile government leading a major NATO member with growing regional ambitions.
Much of Erdogan’s foreign policy is driven by neo-Ottomanism, his ambition to restore Turkey’s political, economic, cultural and strategic influence across territories once governed by the Ottoman Empire.
Alongside this vision is Erdogan’s long-standing sympathy for movements associated with the Muslim Brotherhood. Hamas, an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood, has benefited from this relationship. Erdogan has repeatedly defended Hamas and allowed senior Hamas figures to operate from Turkey.
The language emanating from Ankara increasingly resembles that heard in Tehran. Turkish forces remain active in northern Syria and Iraq. Ankara has established military bases stretching from Qatar to Somalia and has become an increasingly influential player in Libya, the Caucasus and the Eastern Mediterranean.

Is an Abraham Security Alliance Possible in the Middle East?
Is a greater Middle East security alliance, encompassing Israel, Lebanon, the UAE, Bahrain, Morocco, and beyond, a realistic prospect? Or will Hamas- and PLO-supporting Turkey replace Israel as the U.S. administration’s preferred regional partner?
In his address to a joint session of the U.S. Congress in July 2024, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu floated an “Abraham Security Alliance,” a NATO-style framework open to states that “have made peace with Israel and those that will.”
In February 2026, Netanyahu unveiled what strategists call the “Hexagon Alliance”: Israel’s technological and security core, linked to India’s manufacturing weight, Greek and Cypriot Mediterranean corridors, Emirati economic channels, and Somaliland’s Red Sea oversight.
Lebanon has since agreed to direct negotiations with Israel. Syria’s al-Sharaa government has held direct dialogue with Jerusalem.
Nonetheless, there appears to be a strategic shift inside the U.S. administration: beyond personal rapport between Trump and Erdogan, there is a growing view that Turkey can assume roles Israel has traditionally played, engaging Arab states wary of Iran. Ankara is exploiting this opening, positioning itself as the Islamic world’s next leader, replacing the Iranian regime’s role as regional hegemon and becoming Israel’s principal long-term strategic competitor.

IRAN’S NUCLEAR PROGRAM: BURIED BUT NOT DEAD
It’s Tuesday, July 21, and buried at least 100 meters deep beneath a mountain near the city of Natanz lies a critical piece of Tehran’s nuclear program. But it isn’t enriched uranium that makes Pickaxe Mountain the stuff of Israeli nightmares.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Israeli intelligence has determined that Iran moved thousands of uranium-enrichment centrifuges into tunnels deep within the mountain last fall, following the 12-day war in June. If accurate, this represents a significant acceleration of Iran’s path to reviving its nuclear program—one that both the U.S. and Israel believed was effectively dead and buried.
Pickaxe Mountain has been under construction since the fall of 2020. At the time, Iran claimed the underground halls would replace the destroyed above-ground centrifuge assembly facility at Natanz’s main site, which was severely damaged in an explosion widely suspected to have been an act of sabotage. Iran describes the facility publicly as a centrifuge assembly plant.
Israeli intelligence, however, indicates the purpose is far more ambitious: The site is believed capable of supporting not just assembly operations but limited uranium enrichment.
Over the past 15 months, satellite imagery has documented steady activity: truck traffic, tunnel reinforcements, and expanding security perimeters. The assumption had been that U.S. overflights and the implicit threat of precision strikes would deter Iran from restarting its nuclear program—but that calculation appears to have been wrong.
The facility was not targeted during last year’s Israel-Iran war, nor has it been struck during the current round of U.S.-Iran fighting, either because operators assessed that bombs would have minimal effect or because the site remained under construction. But that calculus may now be shifting.
Last week, Donald Trump broke his public silence on Pickaxe Mountain. “Pickaxe is a possible target for a nice big fat shot right near the front door,” Trump said. “We’re going to take out Pickaxe Mountain. Tell the Iranians to be ready.” He added that while U.S. intelligence currently observes “no activity” at the site, Washington would “probably give Pickaxe a shot relatively soon.”

2,600 years ago Wednesday, fire swept through Jerusalem and brought down the First Temple, according to Jewish tradition. This week, archaeologists pulled a piece of that very fire out of the earth.
Massive wooden beams, blackened and charred by the flames that consumed the city in 586 B.C., were unearthed at Jerusalem Walls National Park in the City of David, the Israel Antiquities Authority announced Monday. They had lain in place since the day Nebuchadnezzar’s Babylonian armies destroyed Solomon’s Temple.
The beams once formed the roof of an inner courtyard in a building close to the Temple. The wood collapsed in the blaze, but plaster melting off the walls flowed over it and sealed it, tucking the charred timber into a protective shell that would hold for 26 centuries…
But the most haunting detail may be the choice the ancients made. When Jerusalem’s residents returned from the Babylonian exile to rebuild the city, the excavation directors believe, they left the ruins deliberately in place, laying the new city over the scars of the old. A landscape of memory, as Dr. Yiftah Shalev put it, seeking to preserve what once existed.
Given that I and millions of other Jews will be fasting on Wednesday [Thursday, here in the diaspora] in memory of the Temple, that impulse doesn’t feel ancient at all. Tisha B’Av is the same choice those rebuilders made, carried across 2,600 years: to keep the past present in their lives rather than pave it over. Commanded in Deuteronomy, it has since become an inseparable core of Jewish identity: “Remember the days of old, consider the years of ages past.”
