Reader’s Links for January 23rd, 2026

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

For those interested, please check out https://vladtepesblog.substack.com/ as an another avenue of expression. The Substack is a different project in a sense. It is older videos that in the light of subsequent events, look different or of increased importance, Check it out now and again if you like.

  1. This morning I saw the murder moving from East to West against the sky. One crow stopped above, to rest on the line. Over my head he looked on down, reciting this poem to my pleasant surprise:

“A man named Gold is old and wise,
Yet spry in his way, unweakened by time,
He sits in wait of his moment to shine,
    Patiently watching all that unwinds,
From years of the folly of rise and decline,
He hears all who shout out his failing health
Then quietly reveals the falsely-stated wealth
With the twitch of his finger and the bat of his eye
Of those who assured his early decline.

The woman named Silver is a woman sublime,
    Achingly beautiful, achingly shy,
    Submissive until sufficiently scorned,
Venus in curves her face so adored,
Medusa in spirit she turns all to stone,
The doubters who doubted her feminine will,
    Mercurial, wicked, yet feminine, still,
Breaking all hearts who doubted her tether,
To Gold, her man, but never her better.”

    And then he flew on.

Here is the updated assessment now being heard in important capitals in the region: normalization with Saudi Arabia is dead, at least for the foreseeable future. The strategic decision to pursue reconciliation with Israel has been replaced by a wild incitement campaign, whose depth and damage are questionable in terms of awareness.

When Qatar’s “plastic empire” attacks Israel via Al Jazeera, it is very harmful – but when the preacher in Mecca poisons the entire Sunni world against Israelis, that is something else entirely.

Over the past month, Al Arabiya has been worse than Al Jazeera in the texts broadcast against any normalization with Israel. Saudi podcasters who specialize in luxury cars or sports are suddenly cursing Zionism and the Abraham Accords…
