Reader’s Links for January 18th, 2026

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

For those interested, please check out https://vladtepesblog.substack.com/ as an another avenue of expression. The Substack is a different project in a sense. It is older videos that in the light of subsequent events, look different or of increased importance, Check it out now and again if you like.

  1. Who would have thought lowly silver would become the nexus in our fight against the fall of Western civilization into the hands of communism. The ownership of physical silver, which is one of two forms of real money, is being priced out of the reach of citizens.

While I attribute this to the consequences of 50 years of futures price suppression and not the doings of communists, the realization of silver price discovery, now, violently and suddenly widens the Overton window to the subject of private property ownership and rights.

Increasingly, reports of wire transfers for the purchase and sale of silver, and the debanking of people and businesses who deal in silver, are bubbling up. I can only report this anecdotally at this point, but the politicization of assets and their ownership is not anectodal, but provable: look no further than the government land grabs in Canada under the fraudulent guise of supporting native land claims.

The time has come to recognize that currency controls by government must no longer be considered solely in terms of moving citizen’s money out of the country, but within domestic borders as well. This video reports on the U.S. Mint’s sudden repricing of its silver coins, and the wave of socialism washing over the North American continent. • Yes, the U.S. Mint just increased the price of its numismatic (collector) silver coins, with some prices nearly doubling around January 13-16, 2026. For example, the 2024 American Silver Eagle Uncirculated coin went from approximately $91 to $169, and the 2026 Silver Proof coin is priced at $173.
The price of silver on the spot market has also surged to over $90 per ounce in the last week due to high demand and other market factors.
        Key Insights
Significant Premium: The new U.S. Mint prices for these collector coins represent a significant premium (over 90%) compared to the current silver spot price, which is around $90 per ounce.
Market Forces: This price adjustment reflects strong physical demand and the Mint’s need to cover production costs and manage inventory, as replacing stock at prior prices was no longer feasible.
Sold Out Status: Following the price changes, many silver products were listed as unavailable or sold out on the official U.S. Mint website.

  2. The good news is that it seems some Americans are waking up to the gravity of the situation on its northern border. The bad news is that unless they help good Canadians counter the rapidly-forming Fascist state it will be harder and more expensive to reverse.

Interestingly, suddenly that fat pig Ontario Premier Dug Ford, who has more chins than a Red Chinese telephone book and the faces to match, finds himself politically betrayed by Carney who plans to allow Red Chinese electric spy cars into the Canadian market. Dug don’t like dat, ’cause dat will cost Dug politically. What a shit show it all is:

  3. Methinks I may have Carney figured out, he may be suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder. Remember when he was campaigning, he said China was our biggest threat, he may have forgotten that he said that, also one of his personalities may be a different ethnicity—Chinese. He may not be a liar after all, just sick.

Unfollowed OAN on this. How utterly disgusting and ridiculous for any group claiming to do news to promote this conspiratorial kook garbage.

    • I dislike Gaetz for the same reason as JD Vance.

      – – The way their eyes are set. Too close together and too narrow, poor proportion with respect to their other facial features. Sneaky-looking.
I asked a couple Japanese scholars who said something to the effect of, I see where you’re coming from…
