Reader’s Links for January 15th, 2026

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

For those interested, please check out https://vladtepesblog.substack.com/ as an another avenue of expression. The Substack is a different project in a sense. It is older videos that in the light of subsequent events, look different or of increased importance, Check it out now and again if you like.

  2. Meanwhile back on Mars it is Saturday night. Our Martian Earth-o-philes, Merle and Argyle, are drinking Mung blood and smoking cigars. The room is thick with smoke. Merle pulls his eye from the telescope eyepiece and turns to Argyle, who sits relaxed in his chair, staring philosophically into space.

“It’s really becoming crazy down there, Argyle.”
“Crazy’s not the word for it. What is President Trump up to now?”
“I’m not sure. Maybe the U.S. and Israel will attack Iran. Trump walked it back yesterday, but it may be a ploy to catch the mullahs with their pants down.”
“–Nothing beats a mullah with his pants down. Yes, regime change. Earth would be much better off,” says Merle taking another gulp of Mung blood. “It would change the whole geopolitical landscape.”
“Agreed. The Persian people have suffered enough.”
“Earth has suffered. Training and financing Islamic terrorism is no way to run a planet.”
Merle sighs heavily. “Yes, yes, but in the aggregate we have never witnessed such Earthly chaos in all the years we have been studying them. Do you agree?”
“I suppose.” Argyle shifts on his chair as if to telegraph an important thought. “It all validates the concept of the Fourth Turning.”
“I’ve heard of this, but refresh my memory.”
“It was a theory posited by a couple of historians back in the 90s. It says American history is driven by political and economic crisis cycles based on four generations lasting eighty to one-hundred years.”
“Right. Cycle theory. There are many. I was sceptical at first of this one, but I tend to agree now.”
“Yes, well, our own history supports cycle theory. Gog cycles are the same thing only reflective of our longer generations.”
“Right. One-hundred Earth years per generation verses their twenty.”
“Yes. Earth is at the Fourth Turning, the apex of chaos.”
    “I hope they survive it.”
Merle raises his glass to Argyle in toast, “To earth!”
    “To Earth.”

      • The main reason for Trumps actions against our enemies and his attempts to get control of Greenland and Canada is time. He has 3 more years and he is out of office, he is trying to set things up so if the Dems steal another election they won’t be able to turn their backs on the threats of our enemies. I don’t know if he is going to succeed but we really need him to at least slow down the shipments of oil to China, when anyone starts talking about us wanting the oil in various nations ask if those nations have been selling oil to China. Trump wants to cut off their oil to slow down their economy and reduce their threat to the US after he has left office.

He can’t prevent WWIII but he can delay it and do his best to ensure that the US is set up to survive the war.

        • China set up a whole infrastructure devoted to Venezuelan crude. It’s just that difficult to manage.
The Dog-eaters [Russian expression] are REALLY unhappy.

    • I dunno…
My father was friends with the former Shah’s ambassador to Italy. Interesting guy, half Bahai, half Zoroastrian.
Last time I talked with his son, he said this Pahlavi would have trouble herding cats.

      • Poor analogy, everyone has trouble herding cats, I know I had one that shared my life for 23 years. I still miss her.
