This is a very good video.
I would ask for at least one minor perspective shift though, when watching.
When Runkle of the Bailey speaks about the Police issuing two statements about this astonishing event, it may be worth remembering that in the last few years, the state has removed the top tier of police forces and replaced them, sometimes more than once, to find leaders who will retask the police to act for political expedience rather than lawful or rights based. We saw this in spades in Ottawa during Covid, and in many other issues this site has followed.
For the moment, if one was to speak with rank and file police officers, the odds are good that you would find kindred spirits with those who believe in the right to defend one’s home and safety with whatever means are at your disposal. That is, if you can find an officer who trusts you enough to speak his true mind. Which is about as easy as finding a doctor who will, which is also a very difficult proposition.
One must learn the skills of Samizdat to get any kind of truth from a profession that has been tilted to the left politically today.
Eventually, as what happened to the CBC, the rank and file officers will be farmed from true believers at universities and will all be working for the benefit of the all powerful state. This is clearly the case in the UK, once again, suggesting that A Clockwork Orange may be one of the less appreciated but prophetic future dystopian novel/movies.
Other than that, this is a worthy video.
What happens is that de facto, they’ve disallowed self-defence,even though the law as written isn’t horrible.
At a minimum, “the process is the punishment” and moreover, just get a woke judge (and they’ll make sure that you do) and you’re… “done”.
The *reality* is that the effective standard for self-defence in Canada is:
“Do you reasonably believe that you are likely to suffer such serious injury that it is worth going to prison to defend yourself?”, and anything less that happens is a bonus.
Of course, in many situations–not including home invasions, for the most part–one might get “lucky” in that the police resources to investigate just won’t be there, especially if a front-line officer who isn’t woke figures out what really happened. But again… good luck.
Curiously, one will note that this doesn’t apply to certain people and certain circumstances. Jean Chrétien and his famous haymaker would be one of them–though I have to admit, much as I dislike the guy, he probably *did* have genuine reason to fear, that time. Or PET kicking an annoying journalist in the testicles–who definitely had no reason to fear injury in those circumstances.
Perfectly stated.
The “Curiously” part of course, is speaking facetiously to mean the dialectic application of this process, in order to destroy equality before the law, and therefore law itself. To favour groups who are the most destructive using leftist reasoning of imputing a victim narrative just long enough to do the most damage till the state moves on to the next victim group.
For evidence of that, just watch the videos of yesterday’s Gay Pride parade whcih was cancelled because “pro-Palestinian Trans activists” ran it aground.
More on that later.
