The other day there was a large scale drone attack against open air Russian strategic bombers. We get into some difficult waters trying to do an analysis in any way that lands in ‘how we are supposed to feel’ about these events. Best to look at them all as pieces on a game board perhaps. But the issues that seem to make this different somewhat, is that no one believes Ukraine could have done this attack, and it was a NATO operation. It was highly technical, used weapons that likely were not built in any organic way in Ukraine, or controlled, or the telemetry/targeting data was likely not Ukrainian. And as the damage to Russian assets was extensive, there will likely be extensive costs associated with this attack. One way or another to NATO countries.
Here is a bit of BS posted yesterday on this. I call it BS because as far as I know, Russia has not even acknowledged the attack, let alone made a threatening statement about it at the time this was posted on X. Also I can’t find anything like this on Truth Social as of yesterday.
Here are two videos from a source we like. People who have deep geopolitical understanding of the region, and have been involved diplomatically there for decades trust this source as accurate and even handed analysis of the war itself, like and post videos from this YouTuber. So for the moment, let’s assume it’s factual. The takeaway as I understand it, is that there is a long standing agreement between the US/Russia that strategic bombers are to be left in open fields as part of a global nuclear-war safety strategy. And it appears that NATO/Ukraine has blown it to pieces. Literally and metaphorically. Therefore, if this analysis is correct, we may be approaching the Georgia Guidestones goal by these actions. Or, it wasn’t NATO and Zelensky just pulled a move that may anger Trump as much as Putin.
This is also probably true, but then the attack must have been planned prior to this, if this attack by Russia was the night before the attack on Russia’s strategic assets. Mind you, it would not be unreasonable to have attack plans ready and not use them if not needed, then not have them when you do.
