Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

  6. Iron Beam – A revolution, but not a flawless one

    The operational success of the Iron Beam laser defense system in shooting down drones has Defense Minister Katz beaming and former Defense Minister Liberman celebrating…

    [Explaining] what it can and can’t do in terms of stopping different kinds of missiles in quality or quantity:

    “The achievement of dozens of operational interceptions using a laser system is unprecedented in the world and represents a very significant step in the right direction.

    “The interceptions are groundbreaking, the system less so: the Chinese have a similar system with a power of about 30 kilowatts, which according to some reports has also been sold to Saudi Arabia; and the Americans have a 50-kilowatt system — but with limited deployment. However, the Israeli system is, as mentioned, the first to prove itself under real combat conditions.

    “It is no coincidence that the system, at this stage, intercepted UAVs and not rockets or mortars — it is likely currently suitable only for intercepting relatively slow targets…”

      Before units like the Multidimensional Unit brought new technology to the field, infantry and tanks would have to call in drone strikes, which takes time. They might investigate threats themselves and could run into ambushes.

      Using new precision technology, such as precision mortars called Iron Sting or the plethora of new drones that are arriving, gives units the ability to quickly close the circle in terms of timing, from seeing the enemy to confirming it to carrying out a precision strike.

      One terrorist who emerges with an AK-47 doesn’t need to be taken out with warplanes and artillery collapsing a house. A small precision weapon can get rid of the threat cheaper and faster.

      The Multidimensional Unit is part of this process of using new technology, helping to see which technology works, and then moving that tech onto the larger forces. This means that there is a kind of sifting through various types of drones, robotics, sensors, and other systems to see what works on the battlefield.

      This is where necessity is the mother of invention, and these battle-hardened soldiers are doing their best to bring the right technology to the frontlines. This is saving lives, not only of IDF soldiers but also of civilians in Gaza…

    • Israel confirms technological breakthrough in laser defence

      Israel has announced that it successfully used a laser-defence system to intercept Hezbollah drones, in what is believed to be the first time high powered lasers have been used in such a fashion during any conflict.

      According to a joint statement today from the Israeli Ministry of Defence, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) and the Rafael defence technology company, the three organisations, alongside Israel’s Directorate of Defence Research & Development, “executed an accelerated development program to deploy revolutionary interception systems.

      “As a result of this initiative, soldiers from the IAF Aerial Defence Array operated high-power laser system prototypes in the field, successfully intercepting scores of enemy threats.”

      It is understood that the system in question, a scaled down version of the long-planned “Magen Or” system, began to successfully intercept Hezbollah drones in late October, prior to a ceasefire a month later. Magen Or, a project first announced by Rafael in 2014, is due to come into full operation later this year alongside the current Iron Dome system.

      The new system is believed to focus on short-range rockets, artillery and mortars, as well as drones, while Iron Dome will continue to target longer-range threats.

      One of the most significant advantages of Magen Or is believed to be cost per-interception. The Iron Dome anti-missile system currently costs approximately £37,000 per time it is used. Magen Or, it is understood, could cost as little as £2 per interception.
