Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  2. The old man loved his pigeons. They were beautiful and intelligent. He understood them, and he was certain they understood him.

    He built a lovely, large coop for them in his little backyard. The neighbors left him alone about the birds, and sometimes neighborhood children came by to look at them.

    Each morning and evening he let the birds out in pairs for training. He had learned that, while they were effective alone, they hunted much more enthusiastically, and with greater determination, in teams. He was just getting ready to sit down to his bowl of soup when his doorbell rang. There were two soldiers at his door.
    “Good evening, Mr. Laszlo,” said the shorter man. “We have come to pick up our birds.”
    “You mean you’ve come to pick up MY birds,” Mr. Laszlo replied.
    “Yes Sir. Are they ready?”
    “Of course. Please wait here. I will get them.”
    Mr. Laszlo turned and went into the room off the hallway then returned with a cardboard box slightly bigger than a shoebox. “Remember to feed them and to speak to them in a calm voice.”

    The shorter soldier handed Mr. Laszlo his payment. “We will be back tomorrow for the next four, as scheduled.” The soldiers turned and walked away back to their truck parked in the street. Mr. Laszlo closed his door and went back to his soup.

  8. Chief Pentagon Spokesman Sean Parnell on Friday morning blasted a New York Times report as “fake” after the newspaper claimed Elon Musk was being briefed later that day at the Pentagon on “potential war with China.”

    Parnell dismissed the story “garbage” in a Fox News interview.
