Bitcoin will replace the US dollar and all other currencies. It could be used to back the dollar. Given the transparency it would work better than gold, but why bother backing paper when you can simply use Bitcoin itself? Gold cannot be transferred with ease, which is why people adopted paper representations. It is only a representation that requires the backing of something more solid. If you are exchanging the money itself then it requires no backing. Bitcoin is reversing the fusion of money and state, but very few realise it. It’s the ultimate Trojan Horse.
In what way do you mean Trojan horse?
In that few understand it what it will mean for them, even as they adopt it. Better money pushes out bad, which is the last thing that statists really need. Bitcoin will make that a lot more difficult for them to stay aboard their gravy train, but they don’t realise that yet.
P.S. Apologies for the double post. My post hadn’t shown up so I assumed that something had failed and tried again.
