Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.
This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

The war of smoke and mirrors has started, the left is calling it the Resistance 2.0 as they organize and try to block President Trumps mandated agenda, they are using the usual lies and rumors to attack and try and destroy the people President Trump wants in his cabinet. What is making the Resistance interesting is the way the Dems are fighting a civil war at the same time, Nancy Pelosi is fighting to remain in power while attacking President Trump (who is around 6 years younger) as being too old to remain in office. The fact that the Dems are working so hard to derail President Trump shows how arrogant and out of touch they are, they lost a resounding landslide election because they were trying to force the US population into doing things we don’t want to do. This Dems haven’t realized that their own actions are why they lost, they don’t believe in Democracy or letting the people decide what is best for them they are authoritarians to the core and are resisting the loss of their ability to bully and push people around. This disconnect will remain amusing until the crazies on the left once again take the violent rhetoric to heart and start attacking people because they don’t support the left. We are already seeing some of this and the number and intensity of the attacks will increase the more the left looses. Most of the violence will be in the big cities, mainly Blue cities but some of it will spill over into the country and Red cities. I don’t think the violence in the US will rise to the level where there is a breakdown in the supply routes depriving people of food, water and power but that will be one of the goals of the left so it is possible.

For those readers who aren’t familiar with the US Constitution and Presidential appointments.
The President picks the person he wants to serve in one of the top offices in the administration and then gives the name to the Senate for their advice and consent.
It takes a simple majority to approve an appointment so it can be done on a party line vote.
Yes the filibuster can be used to block a Presidential appointment, I don’t know how often it has been used.
Normally the majority of the members of the Senate think that barring a major scandal the President should be allowed to have the Cabinet that he wants and will approve most if not all of his picks. However the resistance (pissed off Dems) think that blocking his appointments will in some arcane manner bring the voters back to voting for the Dems.
Since all of President Trumps picks so far have been people who are opposed to the large government controlled by the Bureaucrats it is unlikely they will approve many if any of President Trumps picks.
This brings us to the recess appointments. The Founders didn’t plan for a large professional Senate and House, they thought Congress would be in recess for 3 to 6 months of every year. They gave the President the ability to act fast when they were in recess and fast action was needed. For the appointments to be legal Congress has to be in recess for at least 11 days.
The President can dismiss Congress and send them home but this requires that the Speaker of the House and the President of the Senate must approve this action. This is one of the many reasons it was vital for President Trump to have enough coattails to carry in enough people that the Repubs control Congress.
After Congress has been in recess 11 days the President can appoint people to fill the vacancies for a maximum time of 2 years when a new Congress will convene once this happens the “Temporary” appointments must be approved, new names presented and voted on or more recess appointments will be made for 2 years. Since the norm is the party of the President loses seats in the by elections it is unlikely more recess appointments will be possible.
This means that President Trumps have 2 years to make the changes needed to clean up the US government enough that we can survive all of the chaos that will be created by the Dems and their foreign allies.
Buckle up the radical left Marxists aren’t going to pack their tents and go quietly into the night, they are going to use every legal and illegal method they can think of to block President Trump from restoring the US Government into something resembling what the Founders wanted. Take a good hard look at what the Communists have done in all of the violent asymmetric wars they have started. All of those tactics are coming to North America (yes I think the left will spill the violence over into Canada) for a long and bloody asymmetric civil war.
