These two Tweets happened as a quick one-two punch against the Canadian people today.
The leader of the NDP held a ‘press conference’ at 1:00 to announce to the world that he was dissolving the coalition partnership between his NDP party and Trudeau’s Liberals. This should of course have resulted in an immediate vote of no confidence and an election in 6 weeks time…
Trudeau responds with this, both issues the NDP has made clear are what they want done. Actually both parties want done:
It looks to us like this is a con to push through “free lunches” and government dental care, both of which we can all be sure is every bit as good as ‘free’ medical care in Canada, and then once Trudeau inks that deal they will patch up their public rift.
With any luck, we here at Vlad Tepes are dead wrong and a no confidence vote happens tomorrow and we get an election in mid October. That, would be interesting.
The only thing we can be sure of is something that all our parents always reminded us of as children.
“There is no such thing as a free lunch”.
Or, as we say in Germany:
“Die Maus ist tot, weil sie nicht verstand warum der Käse gratis war”.
(the mouse is dead because she did not understand why the cheese was free)
Nullam Gratuitum Prandium – “There is no Free Lunch” – courtesy of the Roman Senate. And I don’t think that Trudeau understands the meaning of the word “invest” because there is never a positive return for taxpayers on his “investments”, just more waste.
It isn’t that Trudeau doesn’t understand the word invest. He invests in things and makes millions. It is that WE do not understand how HE uses the word when he speaks to US.
