Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

    “Alberta Justice strikes again! ”

    Crown prosecutors working for Alberta Justice are appealing the aquittal of Chris Carbert & Tony Olienick on the charge of Conspiring to Kill RCMP officers.

    This decision comes before the men have been sentenced. This decision sets precedence in the travesty that these proceedings have been from the start.
    There was always the possibility of an appeal by the crown, but the rate this appeal has been filed is unheard of.

    Later this month, the crown will likely attempt everything possible to keep these men remanded!

    The courts have been weaponized! Murderers, rapists and dangerous repeat offenders get bail daily while political dissidents are jailed and dragged through the courts.

    Even a jury of our peers is no longer credible enough to stop the warfare being executed by Stephen Johnson and his cronies.

  4. This story resonates. Ezra Levant is going to try to help the Amish of Southern Ontario because the government has now fined them $400,000 for not using the Arrive-Can app during covid.

    By simply wanting to be left alone the Amish have set in relief the Trudeau regime’s draconian behavior like few other examples can. These people remained healthy throughout the plandemic while taking no mRNA injections. They don’t use smart phones so could not download any apps, even if they knew what an app was. I will go back to my Amish roots.

    • This would appear to be a test case for a novel means of government control and enforcement.

      Imagine a scenario where the WHO announces an MPOX epidemic and Pfizer makes a 90 day “wonder vaccine” which you refuse to have injected. The government places a lien on your property as punishment , or freezes your band account so you starve.

      This sure looks a lot like a plausible Trudeau-Liberal plan.

    Joe Biden ordered taxpayer-funded Secret Service protection for disgraced former Director Kimberly Cheatle.

    Kimberly Cheatle resigned last month after Secret Service security lapses led to an attempted assassination of Trump.

    President Trump was grazed in the ear after a 20-year-old gunman named Thomas Matthew Crooks climbed on a roof and took several shots at Trump and rallygoers in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13.

    Cheatle appeared before the House Oversight Committee last month to answer questions about the so-called security breaches that led to an assassination attempt on Trump during his Butler rally.

    She stonewalled during the interview. She refused to answer any pertinent questions! Cheatle did not answer any important questions and blamed it on “an ongoing investigation.”

    Now Cheatle is getting Secret Service protection!

    Per RealClearPolitics:

    The Secret Service is providing Kimberly Cheatle, its former director who resigned last month, a security detail in an unprecedented effort to protect a former agency chief amid lingering national anger about the myriad security lapses under her watch. Those failures led to the assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump and the killing of firefighter Corey Comperatore, according to three sources in the Secret Service community.

    Cheatle has faced an ongoing firestorm of fury from American citizens, and even rank-and-file Secret Service special agents and officers, over the agency’s failures that created an opening for shooter Thomas Crooks to open fire on Trump, piercing his ear and killing Comperatore in front of his family and wounding two other rally-goers.

    At least for now, the Service Service is providing the protection out of the Dignitary Protective Division, which secures foreign leaders when they visit the White House and other areas in D.C. and also protects lower-profile cabinet officials, according to these sources. Using DPD, instead of the Washington Field Office, could be a way to keep the knowledge of Cheatle’s protection to a more limited number of agents or it could simply be a manpower issue.

    President Biden ordered the taxpayer-funded protection for Cheatle, these sources say, because she was facing numerous threats, especially on social media from individuals angered by the agency’s failures on July 13 and her lack of transparency during her testimony to the House Oversight Committee July 22. She resigned the next day.

    ESPN, majority owned by The Walt Disney Company, has fired Sam Ponder, the popular host of Sunday NFL Countdown.

    The network officially cited budget cuts as the reason. This decision comes on the same day the network also severed ties with former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III.

    Both terminations have been described as part of ESPN’s efforts to balance its books before the fiscal year concludes at the end of September, according to The Athletic who first reported the news.

    Ponder, who has been with ESPN since 2006, was reportedly still under contract when the decision was made. The sudden termination raises questions about the network’s true motivations, particularly given Ponder’s recent outspoken defense of women’s sports in the face of growing controversy over transgender athletes competing in women’s competitions.

    Critics argue that her firing is less about budget cuts and more about silencing dissenting voices that challenge the progressive orthodoxy dominating the sports world.

    Riley Gaines, a former NCAA swimmer and vocal advocate for the protection of women’s sports, expressed her outrage on social media, saying, “So ESPN fires [Sam Ponder], the only woman at the network who publicly said men don’t belong in women’s sports. 3 weeks before football season? Sam is one of the most beautiful, genuine women I’ve ever met along with @sagesteele who had a similar fate….not a coincidence.”

    Gaines’ tweet references Sage Steele, another prominent ESPN personality who found herself at odds with the network’s management. Steele was sidelined after criticizing vaccine mandates and questioning former President Barack Obama’s racial identity, sparking speculation that ESPN is engaging in a broader purge of voices that don’t align with its political agenda.

    Gianfranco Torres-Navarros – mass murderer who was welcomed into the country by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

    Mass murderer and illegal alien Gianfranco Torres-Navarro was captured by ICE officials in Buffalo, New York on Wednesday. In Peru they called him Gianfranco 23 for the 23 murders he committed.

    In the photo below Gianfranco 23 shot a police officer dead in a restaurant.

    BREAKING: ICE Buffalo arrested a Peruvian gang leader yesterday who is wanted for 23 murders in Peru & was caught and released at the U.S. border in May. Gianfranco Torres-Navarro, leader of “Los Killers”, was arrested by ICE in Endicott, NY, about 145 miles northwest of NYC.

    ICE tells FOX Torres-Navarro was caught by Border Patrol on May 16th near Roma, TX in the Rio Grande Valley, but was released into the U.S. with a Notice to Appear.

    It took almost two months before federal authorities learned he was wanted in Peru for nearly two dozen murders. After being informed, Buffalo based ICE deportation officers found and arrested him yesterday. He is now in ICE detention.

    ICE statement to FOX:

    “Gianfranco Torres-Navarro poses a significant threat to our communities, and we won’t allow New York to be a safe haven for dangerous noncitizens,” said ICE Buffalo Field Office Director Thomas P. Brophy. “Well done by our ICE Buffalo officers who brought this individual into custody.”

    WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA), a member of the Task Force on the Attempted Assassination of Donald J. Trump, released his preliminary investigative report, candidly discussing some of his objective findings following his “boots on the ground” trip to Butler, PA on August 4th, 5th and 6th.

    The preliminary investigative report was submitted to Task Force Chairman Mike Kelly (R-PA) on August 12, 2024. The document was intended to foster discussion amongst Task Force members. It has been embargoed for several days pending authorization to release from the Task Force chain of command.

    “As I have said, every question will be answered, every theory explored, and every doubt erased. The American people deserve the full truth on the attempted assassination of President Trump,” said Congressman Higgins. “Our investigative efforts are moving forward in good faith. The release of my preliminary investigative report is reflective of my desire to deliver transparency and reassurance to the American people.”

    The preliminary report details some of Congressman Higgins’ findings thus far. However, it is not exhaustive, nor final.

  14. National Review: Many Missing Key Aspect of Walz’s ‘Weapons of War’ Comment

    Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz has been under fire since he was named as Vice President Kamala Harris’s VP pick. One of the main reasons was past comments Walz made regarding how people shouldn’t be walking around with the “weapons of war” he carried in war.

    A lot of people got a little upset because the closest Walz has gotten to a combat zone was a visit to Minneapolis.

    A lot of the criticism against him has been the claims of his military career that were, at best, inaccurate and were most likely outright lies. That includes him having gone to war.

    But over at the National Review, writer Robert F. Turner argues that there’s a lot more to criticize in that quote.

    Left unaddressed in the controversy over Walz’s military service is the suggestion that American soldiers carry special ‘weapons of war’ that civilians at home can easily purchase.

    Tim Walz, Minnesota’s governor and Kamala Harris’s choice as her vice-presidential running mate, declared in 2018, “We can make sure that those weapons of war, that I carried in war, is [sic] the only place where those weapons are at.”

    It is now clear that Walz lied when he claimed to have carried any weapon “in war.” The Washington Post “fact-checker” found it to be “false.” Walz never got near a combat zone during his military service. The Harris-Walz campaign finally admitted that the claim was untrue but tried to spin it by saying that Walz “misspoke” — as if the fraud was inadvertent.

    But left unaddressed in this controversy is the suggestion that American soldiers carry special “weapons of war” that can easily be purchased by civilians at home. Presumably, Walz was advocating a ban on civilian ownership of AR-15s and similar semiautomatic rifles, on the rationale that they look like the real M16 “assault rifles” issued to our military when both Walz and I served. (I was issued M16s during both of my Army tours in Vietnam.)

    Of course, we’ve addressed that particular issue, but we’re also a site that focuses on guns. We would focus on that.

    Yet a lot of people are harping on Walz’s claims of having gone to war, and understandably so, and not pointing out that his claims that we’re able to walk into a store and buy an M16 or M4 without missing a beat are also fabrications.

    Walz likes to talk up his hunting background, even saying he could shoot more pheasants than Sen. J.D. Vance. If he’s such an outdoorsman and military veteran, you’d think he’d be familiar with the difference between what civilians can get easily and what the military uses.

    Yeah, they look similar, but looks aren’t everything.

    Walz simply has to understand the differences, and yet he keeps pushing the narrative that we’re somehow walking around with “weapons of war” while knowing it’s not true. With his background, it’s unfathomable that he doesn’t know the difference.

    And yes, that’s not getting talked about enough. Part of that is because most people even in the right-leaning media don’t know guns all that well. Then there’s the fact that it’s hard to explain the differences to the average citizen who only knows that my AR-15 looks an awful lot like an Army Ranger’s M4. They don’t know where to look for the differences, so they don’t figure there are any, and that’s hard to explain to them to the point they really grok it.

    So, attention gets focused elsewhere.

    The thing is, I don’t know that we should pick one or the other. Both his claims of having gone to war and that this is the kind of weapon carried in war are outright lies. The fact that he squeezed two into a relatively short sentence is kind of impressive. He should get full “credit” for both
