Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

    Polish MPs have voted overwhelmingly to pass a new law allowing soldiers and border guards to fire live rounds at migrants trying to break into the country from Belarus.
    The passing of the legislation comes in the wake of the tragic death of a Polish border guard last week, who was killed by a spear thrown by a migrant from inside Belarusian territory.
    Politicians in the Polish Sejm voted 401 in favour of the law, while 17 voted against.
    The new legislation exempts public officials carrying weapons from liability where they use them in self-defence or “pre-emptively” when the “life, health and freedom” of law enforcement officials are threatened during an “unlawful attack on the inviolability of the state border”.
    Polish soldiers and border guards clashed again all day on Saturday with large groups of illegal migrants.
    Video images show the Polish troops forming a defensive line behind riot shields, as groups of migrants stand around about twenty metres away.
    One of them appears to throw a projectile towards the border guards, who retaliate by throwing a stun grenade.
    The Polish soldiers hurl abuse at the migrants, shouting “f*** you, motherf***ers” in English.
    Amnesty International has criticised the new legislation, saying it sets a dangerous precedent.
    In a strongly worded statement, they said: “Under international law and standards, the use of force against individuals must be strictly necessary and proportionate to the threat posed; the use of firearms is prohibited except in situations where there is an imminent threat of death or serious injury.
    “Any attempt by the Polish authorities to undermine these principles would be unlawful.”
    Aleksandr Lukashenko, the Belarusian President, has weaponised immigration in response to EU sanctions imposed on his regime following his controversial re-election in 2020.
    In an attempt to undermine the EU, Belarus has helped immigrants travel through the country and cross into Poland, Lithuania and Latvia.

    A Polish soldier died on Thursday after he was stabbed on the border with Belarus by migrants trying to cross into the European Union, the army said, while Warsaw said it would demand Belarus hand over the person responsible for his death.
    The border has been a flashpoint since migrants started flocking there in 2021, after Belarus, a close Russian ally, opened travel agencies in the Middle East offering a new unofficial route into Europe – a move the European Union said was designed to create a crisis.
    A soldier of the 1st Armoured Brigade, refered to only by his first name Mateusz, had been stabbed by migrants trying to cross a fence on the border in late May. The army said he died on Thursday.
    “Despite the help provided in the area of ??the criminal attack on the border with Belarus and the efforts of doctors, his life could not be saved,” it said in a statement.
    In recent weeks there has been an increase in the number of migrants trying to cross illegally and border guards have reported a number of violent incidents.
    “We demand that (Belarussian) authorities establish the identity of this murderer and hand him over to Polish authorities,” Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said.
    A protest note would be handed to the Belarussian charge d’affaires later on Thursday, he said.
    Poland has recently announced plans to beef up the border and reintroduce a 200-metre buffer zone.

  12. Islamic State Terrorists Planned to Attack Liberal Berlin Mosque, Says Prosecutor

    A liberal, women-led Berlin mosque known as a haven for gay Muslims was a target for an Islamic State terror cell in Germany, prosecutors say as the group goes to court.
    A group of seven immigrants arrested in 2023 across Germany and the Netherlands will soon see their day in court, and German prosecutors allege before their incarceration the men prepared to build bombs and researched targets including a liberal mosque, Jewish citizens, and a fair.
    The men, who originated in Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan came to Germany from Ukraine as part of the refugee flow that immediately followed the Russian invasion in 2022. One of the group is alleged to have led an Islamic State terrorist cell in Kyiv, Ukraine, and some of the group are said to have already killed in Ukraine, including by beating. Members of the group have allegedly had contact with Islamic State figures elsewhere in the world who launched successful terror attacks, or who were arrested while in the planning phase.
    Now the German prosecutor claims this group of seven discussed the liberal Ibn-Rushd-Goethe Mosque in Berlin as a target in July 2022. They are also alleged to have monitored Jews to learn their daily routines. Die Welt, a German broadsheet which claims to have seen the prosecutor’s court documents, notes the group had experimented with building a suitcase bomb, some had received military training from the Islamic State, and that members of the group were already under unfulfilled deportation orders.
    Despite the claims, it appears that no concrete plans for an attack were in place at the time of the arrests and these allegations are yet to be tested in court.
    The Ibn-Rushd-Goethe Mosque in Berlin reportedly targeted by the group was founded by Seyran Ates, a Muslim woman who has lived under 24-hour police protection for ten years, such is the threat to her life from fundamentalist Islam. The mosque is known for being one of the few where men and women can worship together, and where homosexuals are also welcomed.
    German Humanist nonprofit HPD notes the mosque has come under increased threat of late since it was described as a “place of devil worship” by Islamic State propaganda.
