Reader’s Links for July 7th 2024

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

For those interested, please check out https://vladtepesblog.substack.com/ as an another avenue of expression.

  1. FRANCE ELECTIONS, 2nd and last round: historical numbers. Participation: 67.1%.
    RESULTS IN ONE HOUR.

Hollande’s newly created party is nipping at the RN’s heel and that’s because so many candidates from other parties desisted and their voters allied with Hollande.

  2. FRANCE ELECTION: Over 400 reporters are waiting somewhere on site. The most they’ve had was 200. The world is watching.

  3. FRANCE: HOLLANDE’s party WINS THE ELECTION.
The RN’s Marine Le Pen comes in third place.
It was the enemy of my enemy is my friend strategy.
    Macron is one happy man.

    • SORRY, I got my party leaders all mixed up. So many alliances… Hollande cannot be president. The Greens and the Commies won the election.

      – What Is The New Popular Front? Key Figures To Know In French Left-Wing Alliance –

Macron announced early parliamentary elections in response to the RN’s victory in the European elections, when it received 31.5% of the vote, while Macron’s candidates received only 14.5%.

The purpose of this action was to keep the RN from obtaining more political traction.

In response, the Communist Party, the Greens, the Parti Socialiste, Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s France Insoumise, and other left-wing and green groups came together quickly to establish the NFP. This coalition offers a unified front against the far-right menace with a common program and distribution agreement for constituencies.

  4. Tribal news is all too grim.
    Qwiki summaries: https://www.dailyalert.org
___One-page, EZ to digest, avoids alienating its American consumers/funders. A mixed bag, from CNN, WSJ, NYT to NYPost.

Tries to remain as upbeat as possible; after all, demoralization is The Enemy. At least a couple stellar links in every post, including MEMRI, Jonathan Spyer, Seth Frantzman, and Melanie Phillips. Plus reasonably friendly (for the moment) Moslem-Arab writers.

A guide to Israeli sources in English:
_• Times of Israel. A disaster, now even worse than Haaretz. Its singular mission is to destroy Bibi. That’s it.

_• Israel Hayom. turned upside-down after its sponsor Sheldon Edelson died. First off, FIRED longtime senior editor Caroline Glick – too well-informed, too conservative. (She now has a much better position at JNS.)

_• Ynet. Truly terrible – EXCEPT for military coverage. Then it’s Must-Read.
