Today is ‘Canada Day’. So I guess it deserves a few words.

“Vlad. How did Canada become so communist?”

“Well, slowly at first, then all at once.”

Once upon a time, Canada had a meaningful flag. It pointed back to Canada’s past and its symbolism was meaningful in a way that a national symbol should be. It represented the Dominion of Canada. It was called the Red Ensign.

Here is what Wikipedia has to say about it:

The Canadian Red Ensign (French: Red Ensign Canadien) served as a nautical flag and civil ensign for Canada from 1892 to 1965, and later as the de facto flag of Canadabefore 1965.[3] The flag is a British Red Ensign, with the Royal Union Flag in the canton, emblazoned with the shield of the coat of arms of Canada.

In 1965 under PM Pearson, they changed the flag to a red flag with white bars and a hammer and sickle single maple leaf in the middle.

Here is a very interesting article about various Prime Ministers of Canada, with a healthy section on Pearson. Well worth a read. Especially for Canadians, and for others interested in the long march through the institutions.

A brief excerpt on the man who changed the flag:

“The three revolutionaries were elected, shortly after which Prime Minister Lester Pearson appointed Trudeau his Parliamentary Secretary. Politicians and reporters stared at each other. Who is Trudeau? In 1967, Pearson appointed him Minister of Justice. Politicians and reporters stared at each other. Who is Trudeau? And in 1968 Pearson conveniently retired, opening the way for Lucky Pierre.

I realize that what you have already read presses painfully on your limits of belief but the fact is that Pearson is also a Communist. Elizabeth Bentley, the late, former Soviet spy, testified in Executive Session before a Congressional Subcommittee in Washington that “Mike” Pearson had been one of those who passed information to the spy ring.*

The next change was Dominion Day, which actually meant something, to “Canada Day” by Trudeau, which does not. July 4th is called Independence Day for the USA. Not, “America Day”. It is celebrated with fireworks to represent the battle for liberty and is well referenced in the American National Anthem.

From a Government of Canada website:

Proclamation requiring celebration of July 1st

On June 20, 1868, a proclamation issued by the governor general, Lord Monck, enjoined and called upon all of Her Majesty Queen Victoria’s subjects throughout Canada to join in the celebration of the Anniversary of the formation of the Dominion of Canada on the 1st of July, 1868. This proclamation, a copy of which is attached, was published in the Canada Gazette on Saturday, June 20, 1868.

The anniversary of formation of the Dominion of Canada. Ok. Like Independence day in the US but not by war.

Trying to find when they changed the name to ‘Canada Day, I did stumble across this:

From 1968 to 1979: (with the exception of 1976): A large multicultural celebration is presented on Parliament Hill. This concert is broadcast on television across the country. The main celebrations (called “Festival Canada”) are held in the National Capital Region throughout the month of July. These celebrations include many cultural, artistic and sport activities and involve the participation of various municipalities and volunteer associations.

So we moved from a celebration of Canada and it’s formation to a “Multicultural yada yada”. Who was PM in 1968 again?

The name, Dominion Day was officially Changed to “Canada Day in 1982. Who was PM in 1982 again?

There is some debate as to who the architect of the Long March through the Institutions. But for sure, Mao and Gramsci are a large part of the equation. Trudeau himself was a fan of Mao’s and made several trips to China during that particular phase of its history. He travelled to Cuba as well and we all know what came of those trips.

Canadian icon, Dr. Norman Bethune who we have to lionize, went to China to treat Mao’s wounded soldiers. But only Mao’s soldiers. None of their victims. As far as we know, his statues have never been vandalized. But here’s hoping.

1. With the left, the point is never the point. The Revolution is ALWAYS the point

2. This is interesting. A lawsuit against the Biden regime may proceed, which accuses him of funding terrorism. Which he does. So good.

Judge Rejects Biden Admin Bid To Dismiss Lawsuit Over ‘Illegal and Dangerous’ $1.5 Billion Palestinian Payment Plan

A U.S. district court rejected the Biden administration’s bid to dismiss a landmark lawsuit alleging it engaged in an “illegal and dangerous $1.5 billion terrorism subsidy program for the Palestinians.”

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas ruled on Friday that the lawsuit brought by victims of Palestinian terrorism can proceed, marking the second time the Biden administration’s motion to dismiss the case has been rejected. The court, in its latest decision, said there is evidence the Biden administration continued awarding taxpayer cash to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA)—the leading aid organization in Gaza—even after Congress blocked funding to that group due to its support for Hamas’s military infrastructure.

The lawsuit, originally filed in December 2022 by American victims of Palestinian terror attacks and Rep. Ronny Jackson (R., Texas), alleges the Biden administration violated federal law when it restarted aid to the Palestinians, including for programs in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip. This money, they argue, subsidized terrorism and contributed to the Palestinian government’s “pay to slay” program, which provides imprisoned terrorists and their families with monthly stipends.

3. Riots break out in France. I mean, is that even news? Rain breaks out in England. Still, it makes for good footage.

Thanks all for checking us out. Been a very busy day here so not much work got done on the site. But Lots to post this week.
