A plan devised by the Canadian Joint Operations Command relied on propaganda techniques similar to those employed during the Afghanistan war.

Canadian military leaders saw the pandemic as a unique opportunity to test out propaganda techniques on an unsuspecting public, a newly released Canadian Forces report concludes.

The federal government never asked for the so-called information operations campaign, nor did cabinet authorize the initiative developed during the COVID-19 pandemic by the Canadian Joint Operations Command, then headed by Lt.-Gen. Mike Rouleau.

But military commanders believed they didn’t need to get approval from higher authorities to develop and proceed with their plan, retired Maj.-Gen. Daniel Gosselin, who was brought in to investigate the scheme, concluded in his report.

The propaganda plan was developed and put in place in April 2020 even though the Canadian Forces had already acknowledged that “information operations and targeting policies and doctrines are aimed at adversaries and have a limited application in a domestic concept.”

A copy of the Dec. 2, 2020, Gosselin investigation, as well as other related documents, was obtained by this newspaper using the Access to Information law.

I think anyone with one eye even half open knows which parts of this are pure BS but with less fertilizing effect. There is no way the Trudeau government did not ask for this. But the part about the military using disinformation and other info-warfare tactics against Canadians is true. One general in the Canadian forces was suddenly ‘Me too!’d out of the military after refusing to deploy these measures against Canadians. We have documented that repeatedly here on this site.

2. Not all lines of operation from a narrative attack take. For example, the 2022 mass line attack when every network and large show was covering an ‘alien invasion’ from Tucker Carlson to 60 minutes, no one even seemed to know about it on the street. Didn’t take. There are others that have been launched in the past few years that didn’t take either and just fizzled away in the wake. Anyone who can remember any of them, please leave them in the comments.

Let’s hope that we can make that happen here by not dealing with it at all in any way.

3. Today in Toronto is the annual March for Israel. It’s a thing that happens every year. Not super sure why before Oct. 2023 but it does, and predictably, this year its full of drama. Hamas supporters have been organizing to block it on Social media for weeks. Here is what we have so far. Downtown Toronto Church badly damaged by fire

A historic piece of artwork has been lost in a fire that destroyed much of a downtown Toronto church on Sunday.

Emergency crews were called to St. Anne’s Anglican Church on Gladstone Avenue just before 8 a.m. The blaze, which has since been elevated to a four-alarm fire, has caused significant structural damage and destroyed much of the roof.

(CP24, probably a CBC subsiduary like City TV, is more concerned about the loss of a painting than the destruction of a Christian place of worship. naturally.)
