Reader’s Links for April 27th, 2024

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. Rep. Jamaal Bowman and his campaign were duped by the parody social-media account of the fake “Chief Rabbi of Gaza.”

The phony X account of “Rabbi Linda Goldstein” is infamous for spouting anti-Zionist vitriol to ensnare unsuspecting progressives unaware that it is satirical.

The rabbi messaged Bowman about sponsoring a fundraiser for his Democratic primary campaign.

  2. VIDEO: Laura Loomer Confronts Fani Willis at Miami Party for Black County Officials with Half-Naked Women – Watch Fani Flee!
    by Jim Hoft Apr. 27, 2024 8:15 am721 Comments

Laura Loomer confronted Fani Willis on Friday night at the National Association of Black County Officials (NABCO) in Miami, Florida.

Fani was attending the event with her lover and former lead attorney Nathan Wade. The two lovebirds are still traveling together on business/pleasure trips. It’s not clear who’s paying the bills.

Willis paid Wade over $653,000 between 2022 and 2023 while the two were dating. Wade was forced to step down from Fani’s case in mid-March against President Trump after the two were caught lying to the court about the timing of their affair. It’s not clear why Wade was forced to step down but not Fani who also perjured herself in court about when the two started their affair.

A New Mexico high school principal has been removed, and several employees were placed on leave after a raunchy drag performance at the prom left parents outraged.

Students say that the drag performer flashed their crotch, “did twerk on a couple of students,” and “let students twerk on them.”

The lewd performance took place at the prom for Atrisco Heritage Academy High School in Albuquerque on April 20.

  3. NYC Reaches $2.1 Million Settlement in “Toxic Whiteness” Discrimination Case After Replacing 3 White Women With Less Qualified People of Color
    by Jordan Conradson Apr. 27, 2024 11:00 am71 Comments

Three white women will receive a total of $2.1 million in a lawsuit against New York City after they were demoted from their positions as Department of Education executives — for being White!

The demotions happened under ex-Schools Chancellor Richard Carranza. Carranza was appointed by former New York Mayor Bill DeBlasio, who, according to internal emails reported by the New York Post, was “fixated on diversity.”

The lawsuit filed five years ago takes on the racist policies of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), which companies and government entities use to discriminate against Whites because they’re supposedly more advantaged than people of color.

Equality in today’s world has been replaced with equity because the theory behind the policy assumes that people of color need an extra push or training wheels to reach the same level of success as their White counterparts, and therefore, Whites should be disadvantaged in the workplace.

  4. Columbia Student Leader of University Khymani James Who Proudly Said “Zionists Don’t Deserve to Live” Is Expelled

The Gateway Pundit reported on the violent rhetoric of student Khymani James, who is an alleged leader of the Hamas-supporting encampment at Columbia University.

A video shared on social media shows segments of a meeting he participated in with University officials in January, punctuated with clips of his own commentary.

In the meeting, a Columbia official read one of his social media posts in which he discusses killing Zionists, and he was asked, “Do you see why that’s problematic in any way?” to which James proclaimed, “No.”

“I feel very comfortable, very comfortable, calling for those people to die,” James said.

  5. Minneapolis Pays Man $150,000 in Emotional Damages For Witnessing George Floyd’s Death
    by Ben Kew Apr. 27, 2024 10:20 am163 Comments

The city of Minneapolis has given a man $150,000 in damages for merely witnessing the death of Black Lives Matter icon George Floyd.

The Minneapolis City Council on Thursday approved a $150,000 settlement with Donald Williams, who claims his exposure to George Floyd’s death gave him post-traumatic stress disorder (PTDS).

    The Star Tribune reports:

Williams, 35, filed a lawsuit against the city last spring, alleging that he was assaulted by police on the corner of 38th Street and Chicago Avenue while trying to intervene in Floyd’s arrest.

He was outside Cup Foods corner store the evening of May 25, 2020, when he saw then-Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin kneeling on Floyd’s neck for nearly 9 ½ minutes as Floyd begged for his life. Bystander video captured by teenager Darnella Frazier depicts Williams as among the most vocal observers, urging Chauvin to get off Floyd — who was by then unresponsive — and check his pulse.

  6. Gov. DeSantis says Florida ‘will not comply’ with Title IX guidance regarding gender identity

The federal government will get pushback from the Sunshine State regarding expansion of protections for students.

Florida’s Governor is setting the stage with yet another showdown with the Democratic White House.

This one is about new language from the Joe Biden administration reconfiguring Title IX to protect students on the grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity, the latter of which Florida Republicans don’t believe is up for debate.

“We will not comply and we will fight back. We are not going to let Joe Biden try to inject men into women’s activities. We are not going to let Joe Biden undermine the rights of parents and we are not going to let Joe Biden abuse his constitutional authority to try to impose these policies on us here in Florida,” vowed Gov. Ron DeSantis.

The Governor’s strong words, consistent with similar sentiments from GOP state leaders all over the country, align with a statement from Attorney General Ashley Moody.

“Biden’s new Title IX rules shred protections for women — that so many fought for over decades,” Moody said Tuesday.

“The idea that young girls can now legally be forced to undress in the same room with males in what is supposed to be a safe space like a locker room, that a young woman could be randomly assigned a roommate that is a biological male with little-to-no-say over the matter, or that biological men would be eligible for women’s scholarships is ludicrous. We absolutely plan to challenge this betrayal of women in court.”

DeSantis has been aggressive in protecting cisgender girls and women against what he sees as threats from the transgender community.

On the first day of Pride Month in 2021, DeSantis signed SB 1028, a measure that bans transgender athletes from participating in women’s sports.

Last year, the Governor signed on legislation restricting the use of pronouns in schools that don’t correspond with a person’s sex at birth.

  7. Planning for potential presidential transition underway as Biden administration kicks it off

President Joe Biden’s administration has formally begun planning for a potential presidential transition, aiming to ensure continuity of government no matter the outcome of November’s general election

WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden’s administration on Friday formally began planning for a potential presidential transition, aiming to ensure continuity of government no matter the outcome of November’s general election.

Shalanda Young, the director of the Office of Management and Budget, sent memos to all executive departments and agencies, directing them to name a point person for transition planning by May 3. It’s the routine first step in congressionally mandated preparedness for presidential transitions.

The Biden pier caper and Israel’s war

Mishaps and mortars and cargo and kitchens.

It’s tempting to place a major focus on the mishaps now besetting the U.S. temporary pier project off Gaza. But we’re going to get past that lightly, for a brief, even more important discussion of a couple of unbudging realities in the overall situation.

One is that the Biden administration continues to try to thwart Israel’s strategy for Gaza, which is to eliminate Hamas as a factor there and reset post-Hamas conditions for long-term arrangements as advantageously as possible for stability and Israeli security.

The other is that the condition of Gaza has already been altered to the extent that it cannot go back to the status quo ante (i.e., before 7 October 2023). The status quo ante is a dead letter. What Biden is trying to thwart is Israel’s strategy for shaping the new status quo. That’s what all the jockeying about Rafah, the hostages, cease fires, and what Israel is doing about Iran is about.

    • She has done her normally excellent job of providing professional analysis of what is happening and her speculation about what the various nations are doing is very interesting.

Equally interesting is the information that the M1 Abrams tanks were being used as pill boxes and were destroyed while setting still instead of being used the way armor is also interesting. Especially since the left wing media was making so much of their being destroyed by drones.

  9. San Antonio Police Sgt. Says Defensive Gun Uses are Becoming More Common

According to crime analyst Jeff Asher, homicides in San Antonio have dropped 50 percent so far this year when compared to the same time period in 2023. At the same time, one member of the San Antonio Police Department says he’s seeing an increase in defensive gun uses, including two separate incidents on Thursday morning.

“It does seem there is a spike in these types of activities,” said Sgt. Andrew Valle, as he investigated the second shooting of the morning.

In that case, Valle said a man who lives in an apartment in the 8700 block of Marbach told officers he used a gun to stop an intruder.

The man said the stranger tried to force his way into his home after 7:30 a.m.

“And he told that person, ‘What are you doing? You don’t live here.’ That person said, ‘No, I do,” Valle said, explaining the scenario.

Valle said the man who was shot was taken to a hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound in his stomach.

The shooting happened just a few hours after a homeowner in the 400 block of General Kruger shot two men who he said were stealing from him.

According to police, the homeowner noticed the two suspects on his surveillance cameras after 5 a.m. and then confronted them.

He told officers this was the second time the suspects had come to his home to steal roofing materials in his driveway.

A police report later said the two suspects, 32- and 34-years-old, were arrested on theft charges.

It also said investigators had determined the homeowner was justified in shooting them and would not face charges./blockquote>

KSAT-TV has also documented multiple armed citizens who’ve fought back against burglars, car thieves, and home invaders, and while neither Valle or the television station provided any hard numbers regarding incidents in which lawful gun owners defended themselves this year, it does appear that San Antonio DGU’s are becoming more common than what we’ve seen in the past.

Valle says there are probably multiple factors involved in the increase, but I’d say it starts with more people exercising their Second Amendment rights. More guns don’t equate to more crime, but it does mean more opportunities for criminals to encounter a legally armed citizen when they’re picking out their targets.

The fact that Texas is a Constitutional Carry state likely helps as well. So long as you can lawfully possess a gun, you can legally carry it as well (subject, of course, to the “gun-free zones” that still exist in the Lone Star State) without the need for a government-issued permission slip. We have no idea how many folks are lawfully carrying in the state, but it stands to reason that by expanding access to that right there are more armed citizens on the streets of San Antonio now than there were just a few years ago.

According to gun control activists, that should make cities like San Antonio chaotic hellholes. Instead, homicides declined by more than 28 percent last year, and are plunging even further in 2024. I’m not suggesting that’s entirely because of Constitutional Carry; like Valle, I think there are multiple factors at work here, but it’s pretty clear that repealing the need for a carry license hasn’t been the disaster that anti-gunners predicted.

  10. Dershowitz Warns the ‘Useful Idiots’ Now Protesting are Being Groomed for Terrorism
    by Guest Contributor Apr. 27, 2024 1:00 pm92 Comments

‘They simply want to be part of current protest movements’

There are hundreds, no thousands, of university-age students participating now in the anti-Israel protests on campuses across the nation.

Most of them have little idea of the reason for their protests, according to longtime liberal lawyer Alan Dershowitz.

He said they’re “useful idiots” to those who have a more nefarious motive behind the protests and the violence.

But the threat is that they are being groomed for future terrorists.

Dershowitz, the Felix Frankfurther Professor of Law, emeritus at Harvard, wrote in a column at the Gatestone Institute, where he is a fellow, that those protesters include university, high school and even middle school students.

They are protesting Israel, the U.S., and Jews.

“Some of the signs say ‘pro-Palestine,’ ‘ceasefire now’ and ‘end the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.’ But these benign statements hide a far more malignant agenda, the end of Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people, the end of America as the world’s leading power and the end of democracy and the free market economy. Even if there were a unilateral ceasefire, accompanied by massive humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza, many of these protests would continue, because Gaza is merely an excuse for a much wider agenda: to destroy Israel and destroy America,” he warned.

New York protesters, he pointed out, recently called to repeat the atrocities of Hamas’ attack on Israeli civilians on Oct. 7, “a thousand times.”

“There were shouts of ‘We are Hamas,’ ‘Death to America,’ ‘Burn Tel Aviv to the ground,’ ‘Israel go to hell’ and ‘Jews to back to Poland.’ The chant of ‘from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free’ is pervasive. Free of what? Free of Jews,” he said.

Nobody, he said, has been caught with a sign calling for a two-state peace solution.

The calls for “revolution” actually bypass the Middle East issues and aim directly at America, he said.

“As in the 1960s, many of these students are being groomed to be the terrorists of the future – in the manner of Kathy Boudin and Bernardine Dohrn back then – and, in the United States, a fifth column, the aim of which is taking down America,” he said.

The are four players in the protests: Arabs and Muslims who hate Israel and Jews, “old line radicals,” anarchists and America-haters, organizers who handle money and organize violence, and then those “useful idiots.”

They have “little or no knowledge of the substantive issues. They simply want to be part of current protest movements, which are popular on campuses and among many of their peers. It is this last group that is most troubling, because many of its members are good and decent people who are being led into dangerous territory by their elders.”

He said, “That these useful idiots are young does not make them less dangerous. Young students were instrumental in bringing to power tyrants such as Hitler, Stalin, Castro, Pol Pot and Mao.”

He conceded that because they’re young, they still can change ideologies. But he said consequences should accrue to those who are violent.

Those should include “arrest and prosecution – for physically intimidating, blocking and harassing Jews or any minorities. Such actions are not protected by the First Amendment, university disciplinary rules, or employers after graduation.”

  11. Newly Unsealed Transcripts Further Prove Mar-a-Lago Raid Was a Setup
    by Cristina Laila Apr. 27, 2024 5:40 pm48 Comments

Newly unsealed transcripts of a witness interview with a DOJ prosecutor further prove Trump was set up.

Judge Aileen Cannon ordered documents unsealed in Jack Smith’s classified documents case against Trump.

An unidentified witness told DOJ prosecutor Michael Thakur that after the Trump Administration ended, the General Services Administration (GSA) stored six pallets of boxes in Virginia. They eventually contacted Trump’s team and told them to come pick up the boxes.

These were the boxes that ended up having documents with “classified markings” on them. The boxes were dumped outside of DC in Virginia and then ended up at Mar-a-Lago.

  12. MUST SEE: House Judiciary Committee Releases 300 Page Report on the Alvin Bragg’s Political Vendetta Against President Trump
    by Jordan Conradson Apr. 27, 2024 5:20 pm57 Comments

The House Judiciary Committee released a report on Thursday on Soros-funded Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s “unprecedented” multi-year investigation into former President Donald J. Trump after Bragg campaigned as the best candidate to go after the president.

    Fox reports,

The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office “allowed political motivations and animus to infect its prosecutorial discretion,” the House Judiciary Committee argued in a report Thursday, saying charges were brought against former President Trump employed a “dangerously low threshold” to prosecute “political opponents.”

The GOP-led committee released a 300-page report Thursday, exclusively obtained by Fox News Digital, titled “An Anatomy of a Political Prosecution: The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office Vendetta Against President Donald J. Trump.”

“The DANY has been investigating President Trump since at least 2018, searching for any legal theory on which to bring charges,” the report states. “These charges are normally misdemeanors subject to a two-year statute of limitations, but Bragg used a novel and untested legal theory—previously declined by federal prosecutors—to bootstrap the misdemeanor allegations as a felony, which extended the statute of limitations to five years, by alleging that records were falsified to conceal a second crime.”

  13. ‘Uranium One’ FBI Whistleblower Nate Cain Discusses Los Angeles County DA’s Cover-up of Konnech CEO’s Arrest and Release
by Brian Lupo Apr. 27, 2024 5:00 pm

Last week, The Gateway Pundit reported that the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, led by Soros-backed district attorney George Gascon, is being accused of dropping the charges against Eugene Yu, the CEO of Konnech and a China-born naturalized citizen to the United States, due to political motivations.

Yu was accused of, among other things, sending Personal Identifying Information (PII) of voters and poll workers to Chinese-owned companies. In China, all stored data is accessible by the government.

Nate Cain, the founder of the company Cain and Associates, tasked with assisting in this investigation of Konnech, joined Why We Vote last night to discuss his findings. Cain revealed that he was required to sign a non-disclosure agreement that would give the LA DA’s Office authority to order Cain to destroy or hand over evidence. Fortunately, Cain amended the contract authorizing him to inform other law enforcement authorities, including federal agencies. He also added a stipulation that if he was not paid, the NDA would be voided.

You can watch the full interview with Nate Cain here (Konnech information begins around the 27:10 mark)
