Another reminder that Marxists never sleep, which means we are missing something.
What we need is a parallel Society. I don’t mean the kind Havel or other famous anti-communists refer to, exactly, where we recreate schools and medical clinics free of leftist indoctrination–indeed necessary but not that.
I mean a Foundation, think tank or Society of paid people (not subjects) whose job it is to identify and root out every collectivist weed in our garden. Oh, my, look at what I’ve just written. The hokey timber of this last metaphor makes me want to vomit. Writing does that to a person (not subject) sometimes.
I don’t know much, but I do know good writing will make you think and do and be things (like a subject, for instance) that you otherwise will not be. It’s clever and rhythmic, well-proofed and economical. It’s smart, like we all wish ourselves to be. And if we cannot be quite as smart as we wish then by golly we’ll read stuff that sounds smart! Good writing carries its reader like the dead weight he is, and I don’t mean this derrogatorily. You don’t owe me anything to read what I’m writing now, because it’s up to me to carry you with my ideas and how I convey them. And therein lies the rub. Clever–not correct or right–is so often the domain of the Left that we conservatives are disadvantaged. We understand cleverness to be often disingenuous, and so move on when we smell it. Time is precious and we won’t waste a second on tripe. Yet, not everyone is wary enough to note disingenuous cleverness when they trip over it. Instead, people (subjects) pick it up, look at it curiously like it’s fancy glass, then pop it into their mouth as candy for their not-as-clever-as-they-want brain. This candy is then digested by the gut, altering our genome with gene-editing material (this is me sounding clever and relevant with the lingo of our day) so we feel smarter but are, in fact, stupider for having consumed it.
It reminds me of modern banking: I’ll lend you cheap money so you can feel rich, but really I’m a predator who has enslaved you. Look where this has got us. Ha-ha.
Clever writing does the same. It lends us cheap ideas dressed up quite elaborately to resemble something smart, making us feel more intelligent for having read it. (Youtube also comes to mind mainly in terms of time wasted.) This is the feedstock of our Marxist indoctrination system, aka public education. Ha-ha.
As it turns out, a Society was created a long time ago to address our ills. It wasn’t perfect by any means, but the clever, sophisticated writer of this New Yorker article inadvertently reveals the John Birch Society’s enduring relevance and merits while trying to deftly dismember it with way too many bouncy words. I mean, I learned a few things, certainly. Big-city readers I’m sure felt more sophisticated and better informed by its ingestion when it came out. Sniff. But as a reader–here we go–I was the dead weight it had the duty to carry. It lugged me for quite a ways, in fact, until it really dropped me hard with this cute little tell:

The White House has responded to the backlash from Christians over the “Transgender Day of Visibility” proclamation issued by Joe Biden.
Biden declared March 31 to be a holiday honoring transgender people — but this March 31, of course, is Easter.
“NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 31, 2024, as Transgender Day of Visibility,” the White House proclamation declared. “I call upon all Americans to join us in lifting up the lives and voices of transgender people throughout our Nation and to work toward eliminating violence and discrimination based on gender identity.”
Biden, who says he is a “devout” Catholic, has also banned religious artwork from the White House Easter egg competition.
Naturally, the absurd gesture sparked massive outrage from Republicans, including former President Donald Trump.

Wilton Cardinal Gregory, the Washington Archdiocese, was on CBS’s “Face the Nation” on Sunday morning to discuss the Catholic faith.
In particular, he commented on Joe Biden’s faith and tried to explain how he sees his Catholic faith.
“I would say that he’s very sincere about his faith. But like a number of Catholics, he picks and chooses dimensions of the faith to highlight while ignoring or even contradicting other parts. There is a phrase that we have used in the past, a ‘cafeteria Catholic’ — you choose that which is attractive, and dismiss that which is challenging,” the Archbishop said.

PURE EVIL: Individual Sets Trailer Full of Bibles on Fire in Front of a Tennessee Church on Easter Sunday

A sinister individual committed a heinous and criminal act in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee on Easter Sunday.
As WSMV 4 News reported, Wilson County deputies responded to a trailer fire at Old Lebanon Dirt Road and Chandler Road around 6 a.m. Easter Sunday. Mt. Juliet Fire Department crews contained and extinguished the fire, but not before the Bibles in the trailer burned.
Police revealed the trailer of Bibles was left in the middle of the intersection near Global Vision Bible Church and then intentionally set on fire. They did not reveal the person’s race or gender.
Sheriff Robert Bryan told News Channel 5 Nashville that investigators are reviewing the security footage, and said the car appears to be an out-of-state plate.
Global Vision Bible Church is headed by Pastor Greg Locke, who is a prominent Christian Conservative and supporter of President Trump. He has made a number of politically incorrect statements targeting Democrats and transgenderism.

Minnesota School District Wants Assistant Superintendent Who Can ‘Examine Presence of Whiteness’

The St. Louis Park Public Schools in Minnesota is in the process of hiring a new assistant superintendent.
The job posting is telling.
They are looking for a candidate who can “actively listen for both spoken and unspoken racial concerns” and “examine the presence and role of ‘Whiteness’ in systems and structures.”
They must also be “open to feedback regarding their own racial blind spots” and “seek multiple racial perspectives” while also “foster joy” and “cultivate a culture of accountability for systemic racial equity transformation.”

At least 7 shot, all under age 17, in mass shooting near Indianapolis mall
Police have not yet identified a suspect. One of the children is in critical condition.
Seven children were injured in a shooting outside a mall in downtown Indianapolis on Saturday night, police said.
Indianapolis police officers were on patrol when they heard gunshots just after 11:30 p.m. and arrived on a block outside Circle Centre Mall. According to police, officers saw six people injured with gunshot wounds.
All of the victims were ages 12 to 17, police said.
Emergency medical services took the children to hospitals, and a seventh person, also under 18, arrived at a hospital on their own. One victim was in critical condition, and the six others were stable.
Tanya Terry, the police department’s deputy chief of operations, described the shooting as “deeply concerning.”
“Once again, we have a situation where young people are resolving conflict with firearms, and it has to stop,” Terry said.
Terry told reporters that officers have noticed a pattern of young people leaving the mall after it closes at 7 p.m. and circulating in the nearby downtown area for hours. She said that if parents don’t know where their 12-year-olds are at 11:30 p.m. before Easter, that should “be a priority.”

El Paso judge orders release of migrants accused of ‘border riot’

An El Paso magistrate judge on Easter Sunday ordered the release of migrants accused in a “border riot” when a stampede overwhelmed National Guard troops along the Rio Grande.
Court officials noted that undocumented migrants will stay jailed if there is a federal immigration hold blocking their release.

Presiding Magistrate Judge Humberto Acosta made his ruling on Sunday, March 31, during an online teleconference bond hearing where he accused the El Paso District Attorney’s Office of not being ready to proceed with detention hearings for each defendant. Another hearing for more defendants is expected Monday.
“It is the ruling of the court that all the rioting participation cases will be released on their own recognizance,” Acosta ordered.
The arrests were made by the Texas Department of Public Safety in connection with a March 21 stampede of asylum-seeking migrants — mostly men from Venezuela — who torn down razor wire along the Rio Grande and rushed the border fence at Border Safety Initiative Marker No. 36 in the Riverside area of El Paso’s Lower Valley.
Some migrants face charges of assault of a public servant for knocking down Texas National Guard troops before order was regained. The migrants had sought to surrender themselves to U.S. Border Patrol in bids for asylum or other immigration relief.
El Paso ‘riot’ arrests could be in the ‘hundreds’
It was unclear if the judge’s ruling applied only to the “riot participation” charge and not to assault and criminal mischief charges related to the chaotic border rush.

It is unknown how many migrants were booked on a charge of “riot participation,” a Class B misdemeanor, but Acosta mentioned “hundreds of arrestees” were entitled to individual detention hearings within 48 hours.
A request by Assistant District Attorney Ashley M. Martinez for a continuance to have the hearings at a later date was rejected by Acosta.
“So if the DA’s office is telling me that they are not ready to go, what we’re going to do is we’re going to release all these individuals on their own recognizance,” Acosta said at the hearing.

Later on Sunday morning, two other migrants, including a Colombian man, had separate hearings on criminal mischief charges for allegedly cutting border fencing. They were jailed under a $2,000 bond each. Magistrate Judge Antonio Aun granted their release on personal recognizance bonds. Both men have immigration holds.
The El Paso District Attorney’s Office could not be immediately reached for comment on Sunday because of the Easter holiday weekend. County offices were closed Friday for Good Friday and will be closed on Monday for Ce?sar Cha?vez Day.
Texas National Guard surges forces to El Paso border
Last week, the state sent 700 National Guard soldiers to El Paso, including flying in more than 200 soldiers with the Texas Tactical Border Force to bolster border enforcement. The force includes infantry, scouts, mechanics and medics.
An Operation Lone Star video shows troops boarding a transport plane and on the border with riot shields moving migrants back so crews could replace rolls of damaged razor wire along the banks of the Rio Grande.
