Reader’s Links for March 13, 2024

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

For those interested, please check out https://vladtepesblog.substack.com/ as an another avenue of expression.

    • Justine says “Fear, division, and anger is not going to solve any of the real problems we are facing.” This from the Stay home, stay safe, do what you are told, King.

Paranoid Populism is the term his government uses to describe anyone who does not agree with himself. Well now he has a “small fringe minority” of 70% of Canadians who do not agree with climate crisis tax.

A RCMP report cites natural disasters attributed to climate as a threat. In the near future there will likely be extreme weather crisis that will likely happen in close succession or even concurrently.

Of course the weather related catastrophes will have nothing to do with Environment Canada’s new five year strategy “Science Strategy 2024 to 2029”, using climate-altering technologies to deliberately alter the atmosphere and block out the sun. Weather modification/ solar radiation modification.

Some of the paranoid populist scientists see red flags when it comes to spraying aerosols into the atmosphere—could exacerbate climate change, damage the ozone layer and God only knows what it will do to humans, aquatic life, wildlife, the water we drink, the food we eat and the air we breathe.

Our future may actually be staying home, with windows and doors shut in order to stay safe.

A “Revitalized” Palestinian Authority Means Unity with Hamas Terrorists

The U.S. administration believes that the Palestinian Authority (PA) should be “revitalized” before it is handed control over Gaza after the Iran-backed Hamas terror group is removed from power.

However, for PA leaders, revamping the PA means forging an alliance with Hamas by inviting the terror group to be part of a new governing body that would rule Gaza in the post-war era.

Instead of distancing themselves from Hamas, especially in the aftermath of the massacre of Israelis on Oct. 7, PA leaders in the West Bank continue to view the terror group as a key and legitimate actor in the Palestinian political landscape. This is why PA President Mahmoud Abbas never condemned the massacre.

According to Hussam Zomlot, the PA envoy to Britain: “They [Hamas] are part of us. We refuse to describe any Palestinian party as a terrorist organization. We refuse to describe the Palestinian struggle as terrorism. We refuse to describe any Palestinian activity as terrorism.”

In late February, representatives of Fatah and Hamas met in Moscow to discuss ways of achieving “national unity.”

The PA has so far shown no signs that it is serious about embarking on any plan to reform its political, economic and security institutions.

Abbas is reportedly planning to replace the outgoing prime minister with another one of his loyalists.

The Day After the Gaza War

Former Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Ron Dermer, currently Minister of Strategic Affairs and a member of Israel’s war cabinet, said, 20 years ago, a BBC reporter asked Palestinian spokeswoman Hanan Ashwari, “‘Mrs. Ashwari, you’re not going to get a state unless you fight terrorism and make peace with Israel.’ And what she said is, ‘No. The question of a Palestinian state and peace with Israel are two separate things.'”

“And it was something of a eureka moment for me because it was so clear to me exactly what their strategy is. Their goal is to establish a state to continue the conflict…to get the world to recognize a Palestinian state without them giving up anything in return.”

“And my plea to everybody who supports a two-state solution is: Do not separate statehood from peace. Because if you do, there will never be peace. They will get their state, and they will continue the conflict.”

  4. Bret Stephens, NYT
Israel Has No Choice but to Fight On

If Israel were to end the war now, with several Hamas battalions intact, at least four things would happen. First, it would be impossible to set up a political authority in Gaza that isn’t Hamas: If the Palestinian Authority or local Gazans tried to do so, they wouldn’t live for long.

Second, Hamas would reconstitute its military force as Hizbullah did in Lebanon after the 2006 war with Israel – and Hamas has promised to repeat the attacks of Oct. 7 “a second, a third, a fourth” time.

Third, the Israeli hostages would be stuck in their awful captivity indefinitely. Fourth, there would never be a Palestinian state. No Israeli government is going to agree to a Palestinian state in the West Bank if it risks resembling Gaza.

This is the fifth major war that Hamas has provoked since it seized power in Gaza in 2007. After each war, Hamas’ capabilities have grown stronger and its ambitions bolder. At some point this had to end; for Israelis, Oct. 7 was that point.

Whenever Israel’s critics lecture the country on better calibrating its use of force, they don’t have any concrete suggestions. The reality of urban warfare is that it’s exceptionally costly and difficult. The U.S. spent nine months helping Iraqi forces flatten the city of Mosul to defeat ISIS, with results that looked even worse than Gaza does today. I don’t remember calls for “Ceasefire Now” then.

Israel is fighting a war it didn’t seek, against an enemy sworn to its destruction and holding scores of its citizens hostage. Around 200,000 Israelis are living as refugees inside their own country because its borders aren’t secure. No country can tolerate that. There should be more public pressure on Hamas to surrender than on Israel to save Hamas from the consequences of its actions.

  5. Bernard-Henri Levy:
Stop the War in Gaza by Defeating Hamas

Those crying out against genocide are the same people who call for the birth of a Palestine from the Jordan River to the sea that would involve an ethnic cleansing purging the entire region of all Jewish presence.

Apparently, pure genocide is OK, where imagined genocide is worthy of an impassioned outcry!

A small, fragile, and threatened country, confronted with the most sadistic mass terror attack in modern history, responds like any other democracy would have in its place, and, in fact, like the U.S. did when invading Afghanistan after Sept. 11. Instead of supporting Israel in its legitimate self-defense, the world accuses the Jewish state of poisoning wells and starving the civilian population.

It takes for granted that Israel is “indefensible,” that Zionism – alone among national liberation movements – is a curse word, and that the very survival of the Jewish people on its land is an entirely legitimate object of dispute.

    ^ ^ Yucki's pet peeve. ^ ^

“Ceasefire now!” is a solution that would hand victory to Hamas; prolong the hold of a Muslim Brotherhood death cult on a population that serves as its guinea pig in a horrific experiment; and see the aura of the terror cult and its backers grow beyond Gaza, with all the cataclysmic consequences that one can imagine, both throughout the Middle East and in Europe.

Does anyone care about peace and justice enough to demand an end to this war in the only way it can actually end – with the defeat of Hamas?

    • Extent of Hamas exploitation of civilian Gaza is deeper than anticipated. Hamas’ battle strategy explains massive destruction in Gaza. Here are key aspects of strategy which forces IDF to act with destructive force (much based on this article). 1/10

Many 1000s of civilian apartments & houses were prepared in advance with weapons from light arms to anti-tank missiles. Hamas operatives, dressed as civilians, enter these homes and fire at Israeli forces using these pre-stored weapons. IDF of course fires at these buildings. 2/

Hamas built strategic and long combat tunnels under crowded urban areas, IDF has shown images of many of these tunnels. Explosives required to destroy the tunnels collapses many of the above buildings. 160km of tunnels are estimated in Khan Younes alone. 3/

  6. Netanyahu: For Israel, Every Civilian Death Is a Tragedy; for Hamas, Every Civilian Death Is a Strategy

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the AIPAC Conference in Washington by video link.

I deeply appreciate the support we’ve received from President Biden and the administration and I hope it will continue. But let me be clear, Israel will win this war no matter what. To win this war, we must destroy the remaining Hamas battalions in Rafah. If not, Hamas will regroup, rearm and reconquer Gaza and then we’re back to square one.

That’s an intolerable threat that we cannot accept. We will destroy Hamas, free our hostages, and ensure that Gaza doesn’t ever pose a threat to Israel again.

We will finish the job in Rafah while enabling the civilian population to get out of harm’s way. We’ve taken measures to minimize civilian casualties that no other army has taken in history.

To our friends in the international community, I say this: you cannot say you support Israel’s right to exist and to defend itself and then oppose Israel when it exercises that right. You cannot say you support Israel’s goal of destroying Hamas and then oppose Israel when it takes the actions necessary to achieve that goal.

You cannot say that you oppose Hamas’ strategy of using civilians as human shields and then blame Israel for the civilian casualties that result from this cynical Hamas strategy.
For Israel, every civilian death is a tragedy. For Hamas, every civilian death is a strategy. So it is wrong and immoral to hold Israel to a standard for avoiding civilian casualties that no other country on earth is held to.

    • Biden’s Rafah ‘Red Line’ Sets Up Historic Crisis in U.S.–Israel Relations

You’d think that a president who had a front-row seat in the Obama administration might be a bit more careful about issuing ad hoc red lines on foreign policy that he knows will be crossed. Nevertheless, that’s exactly what President Biden has done in issuing a red line on an Israeli invasion of Rafah, which is a necessary step to defeating Hamas. In the process, he has set up a historic crisis in the United States relationship with Israel….

While Biden and his administration have tried to draw a distinction between Netanyahu and Israel in general, the reality is that when it comes to the basic goals and strategy of defeating Hamas, there is not a distinction. Specifically, a poll released over the weekend found that nearly three-quarters of Jewish Israelis, and 65 percent of Israelis overall, believe Israel should expand its military operations into Rafah, the final holdout of Hamas in southern Gaza.

At the same time, Biden has also pressured Israel to agree to a cease-fire.

Biden is pushing for a six-week pause, with hopes to “build off that cease-fire” — i.e., put an end to the war. Yet in a moment of candor, Biden said that Hamas “would like a total cease-fire across the board, because then they see they have a better chance to survive and rebuild.”

      Ceasefire to respect Ramadan?
      Let’s see

      1. Did Hamas respect Passover?
      March 27th 2002
A suicide bomber detonated an explosive device inside the restaurant of the Park Hotel located in the Israeli town of Netanya, Israel. The attack occurred during the Jewish holiday of Passover and claimed the lives of thirty civilians and wounded 143 more

      2. Did Hamas respect Purim?
      March 4th 1996
The Dizengoff Center suicide bombing (also Purim massacre) took place on the eve of the Jewish holiday of Purim. The suicide bomber blew himself up outside Dizengoff Center in downtown Tel Aviv, killing 13 Israelis and wounding 130 more.

      3. Did They respect Yom Kippur?
      October 6th 1973
The Yom Kippur War was fought from 6 to 25 October 1973, between Israel and a coalition of Arab states led by Egypt and Syria. It started with the invasion of Israel on the holiest day of the year for Jews, Yom Kippur

      4. Finally, did Hamas respect Simchat Torah?
Date? you guessed it! October 7th 2023

So let’s go back to our original question:
      Ceasefire to respect Ramadan?
Not while there 134 hostages rotting in tunnels!

    • Israel will ‘continue mission’ regardless of what Joe Biden has to say

The Israeli people will continue to support the mission of annihilating Hamas regardless of any criticism from US President Joe Biden, Shadow Home Affairs Minister James Paterson has reported from Jerusalem.

Mr Paterson’s follow Joe Biden’s criticism of Israel’s war tactics saying they are ‘hurting Israel, more than they are helping them.’

“People here in Israel would like to have the full-throated support of friends and allies around the world,” Mr Paterson told Sky News Australia host Chris Kenny.

“But if they are forced to choose between public criticism and losing a public relations battle and giving up on their military battle and loosing that battle, well I think it’s a very clear choice that they would make.

“Everyday of the week they will continue to pursue this mission.”

Caroline Glick speaks with the Chair of Urban Warfare Studies at the Modern War Institute John Spencer about, in his analysis, the wrongful comparisons between the Israel/Gaza war and other urban warfare conflicts.

Spencer first made waves when he posited in several Newsweek articles that the civilian casualty number is actually quite low, that Israel was in full compliance with international law and that any comparison to urban warfare in Afghanistan and Iraq is entirely incorrect.

Spencer breaks down his arguments and explains that despite what the international community thinks Israel is actually winning the war “spectacularly”.

  10. Fifty-seven percent of Democrat voters would oppose Congress certifying the 2024 election if former President Donald Trump wins, a Rasmussen Reports poll sponsored by the National Pulse found Monday.

The poll asked likely voters: “Some Democrats in Congress have said that if Trump wins this year’s election, they will vote against certifying the election results because of Trump’s role in the January 6, 2021, Capitol riots. Do you support or oppose Democrats refusing to certify the election results if Trump wins?”

57 percent of Democrats would oppose certification.
Nearly two-thirds of “liberals” said they would oppose certification.
However, Democrats do not form the majority of voters’ opinions:

Overall, only 35 percent of all voters would support opposing certifying Trump’s victory.
55 percent would oppose lawmakers refusing to certify a Trump victory.

The vote on the TikTok bill was controversial for Republicans and represented a split between those who were concerned about the national security implications of allowing a Chinese-owned application to be used by millions of Americans, those who were concerned that the app’s ban may empower big tech companies such as Google and Facebook.

  15. Four U.S. Army supply ships loaded with tons of equipment and steel pier segments left Virginia on Tuesday heading to Gaza ready to fulfill President Joe Biden’s promise to build a pier linking the war-torn territory to the rest of the world.

AP reports the vessels pulled out of docks at Joint Base Langley-Eustis and headed toward the Atlantic Ocean for what could be a month-long voyage to the Mediterranean Sea.

There, at a yet-to-be-announced location along the Gaza shore, the ships and troops from the 7th Transportation Brigade (Expeditionary) will build and operate a floating dock courtesy of U.S. taxpayers.

As Breitbart News reported, Biden used his recent State of the Union address to propose the U.S. military build a new port in Gaza to link it to the world.

This is despite the Israeli government repeatedly pointing out unlimited amounts of aid already enters Gaza; the problem is distribution, especially as Hamas steals much of the aid.

And the White House itself admitted in a briefing that trucking aid in is a more efficient and effective approach. Despite that, the four latest ships follow the General Frank S. Besson which left a base in Virginia and is now on its way to the Eastern Mediterranean also laden with equipment for construction.

The six counts in question against the various defendants alleged that, in challenging the 2020 election results, they attempted to get members of the Georgia House and Senate and the secretary of state’s office to violate their oaths of office in December 2020 and January 2021. Judge McAfee said those charges did not meet legal requirements.

Georgia Judge Scott McAfee partially sided with former President Donald Trump and dismissed several charges against the former president in the bogus Georgia election interference case.

It can be recalled that the bogus racketeering case in Atlanta against former President Donald J. Trump and others has been assigned to Scott F. McAfee, a recently appointed Fulton County Superior Court judge who once served under Soros-funded Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.

Soros-funded District Attorney Fani Willis returned ten junk indictments against President Donald Trump for questioning the 2020 stolen election—a right protected under the First Amendment of the Constitution.

President Donald Trump and his codefendants were indicted on a total of 41 charges, with Trump facing 13 counts last year, a blatant attack on those who dared to challenge the integrity of the 2020 election. Additionally, 30 unindicted co-conspirators are being scrutinized for their role in exposing election irregularities.

Since the election of 2020, Chaldean Americans (also known as Chaldean Catholics) have been targeted, persecuted, and harassed by the FBI due to their support of President Donald Trump.

Zina Toma, a prominent Chaldean Catholic advocate and Trump supporter, has reported three years of harassment that includes threats, illegal recordings, and attempts at entrapment by an FBI informant. According to community representatives, the FBI launched a program through its Detroit office specifically designed to target and intimidate community activists like Ms. Toma due to their political views.

Last year, The Gateway Pundit reported that Chris Wray’s FBI is infiltrating Catholic parishes. The FBI agents are engaging in outreach to Catholic leaders to spy on Americans practicing their Christian faith.

Chris Wray’s FBI sent out a memo warning agents of the dangerous ‘radical traditionalist Catholic ideology’ that was gaining popularity in the country. The memo was posted at UncoverDC.com by former FBI special agent Kyle Seraphin.

  19. SHOCK REPORT: Mississippi – One of the Reddest States – Has Enough Anomalous Voters and Aberrations in Its Voter Rolls to Impact a Statewide Election
    by Jim Hoft Mar. 13, 2024 8:00 am210 Comments

Mississippi citizens invited the Fractal quantum technology team to audit the Mississippi voter rolls – and the results, as you can see in this video, are surprising.

The reddest state, or one of them, has voter rolls with enough obvious aberrations – found with Fractal quantum compute in less than 45 minutes – to impact a statewide election.

What you will see in this video – has been sitting dormant in Mississippi, and 26 other states’ voter rolls, for 25 years – completely missed by national voter integrity organizations.

Mississippi has honest, diligent, highly patriotic election management at the state level.

The Mississippi Secretary of State, Michael Watson, is a national leader – almost alone – demanding voter rolls be free of illegal alien voters.

Dollar Tree, which owns Family Dollar, announced it will close 600 Family Dollar stores in the first half of 2024 and 370 stores within the next several years.

Dollar Tree has also announced they will close 30 stores as their leases expire.

The closure announcement comes as Family Dollar’s profit earnings have been lackluster due to inflation plaguing the chain in recent years.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Family Dollar has also faced significant health and safety concerns after the discount chain was fined $41.6 million for violating product safety standards after it was discovered Family Dollar warehouses were filled with live and dead rodents.

  21. Serial Liar Adam Schiff Snaps at Special Counsel Hur After Declaring Biden ‘Unfit for Office’ in DOJ Report — Suggests Hur Should’ve Provided Different Version of the Report Fit for Public Release (VIDEO)
    by Jim H?ft Mar. 13, 2024 7:45 am307 Comments

Tensions flared in Congress Tuesday as Special Counsel Robert Hur testified regarding the investigation into Joe Biden’s mishandling of classified documents.

During a fiery exchange, Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) criticized Hur for the language used in the Justice Department’s report, which he claimed was prejudicial against Biden.

Hur, who had previously released a comprehensive 345-page report last month, found in his investigation that the classified documents were haphazardly stored at the Penn Biden Center and in President Biden’s Delaware residence.

“My team and I conducted a thorough, independent investigation. We identified evidence that the President willfully retained classified materials after the end of his vice presidency, when he was a private citizen,” Hur said in his opening statement.

  22. The US is not serious about aircraft carriers—or their industrial base
Congress should reject the Navy’s plan to increase the gaps between new carriers.

Last October, Hamas terrorists—acting with the sanction of their Iranian puppeteers—murdered over a thousand innocent Israelis (and Americans), taking hundreds captive. This attack was made against the backdrop of Iranian-backed attacks on U.S. forces elsewhere in the theater, attacks that had become routine. In response, the defense secretary ordered the carrier Gerald R. Ford to take station in the eastern Mediterranean as part of measures to deter further regional aggression.

He was able to do this, and the carrier was able to be there about a day later, because the ship was already in the Mediterranean. It was already there because for decades, defense planners have recognized that deterrence, assurance, crisis response, and naval diplomacy can best be accomplished by robust naval force, forward deployed. So important was the carrier presence there that Ford was extended on deployment and joined shortly thereafter by a second carrier strike group: Eisenhower and its escorts. Ford has since returned the United States, but Eisenhower remains in the Middle East, and its air wing—along with a number of destroyers—are carrying on the Battle of the Red Sea against Iranian-backed Houthi rebels who are disrupting freedom of the seas on a daily basis.

Given the recent importance of aircraft carriers in the Defense Department’s response to real-world tasking—and the fact that such responses have been routine for administrations since World War II—one might assume that aircraft carrier construction and sustainment of the industrial base that supports it would be jealously guarded in the Fiscal Year 2025 Defense Budget. One would be wrong to do so.

Monday’s FY25 budget rollout revealed that the Navy plans to delay procurement of the next aircraft carrier—CVN 82—by at least two years, from 2028 to beyond the new five-year plan that ends in FY 2029. Had the last three years not occurred—Russian aggression in Europe, Iranian aggression in the Middle East, Chinese blustering in the Indo-Pacific—the Biden Administration’s lukewarm interest in naval forward presence and the continuing utility of aircraft carriers could be explicable. But the last three years did happen, and the value of mobile, lethal, carrier-based air power in addressing these developments has been obvious.

The impact of delaying CVN 82 for at least two years would be considerable. The Navy currently plans to allow six years to elapse between the starts of construction of CVN 81 and CVN 82, which—according to the Aircraft Carrier Industrial Base Coalition, or ACIBC—would cause nearly half of advance-procurement suppliers to cease continuous production. An additional two years of delay would exacerbate that problem, and ACIBC says 40 percent of its members predict they would have to lay off workers and/or deprioritize military shipbuilding. These developments would represent steep challenges to the continued production of aircraft carriers. And because many suppliers of aircraft carrier parts also furnish components for submarines (b

    • Biden Wrong on Corporate Profits and Taxes
      by Antonio Graceffo Mar. 13, 2024 2:20 pm55 Comments

No, Mr. Biden, it is not true that some big corporations earned $40 billion in profits and paid no taxes.

President Biden’s State of the Union Address was just riddled with economic misinformation and misunderstandings. After nearly four years of failing Bidenomics, the country only averted a recession because the administration changed the definition. As the deficit, debt, under-employment, and inflation rise, scrambling for cash, the president is looking to raise taxes on mean old corporations.

Increasing taxes on greedy corporations may sound like a good idea, but unless you are on welfare, self-employed, or work for the government, your salary comes from a greedy corporation. And the greedier that corporation is, the more money it makes, the more jobs it creates, and the more salaries it pays. Increasing taxes on corporations increases costs, decreases corporate expansion, and encourages reducing the number of personnel. It also drives up the cost of products, resulting in fewer jobs and higher prices.

During the State of the Union address, Biden repeated his favorite statistic: “In 2020, 55 of the biggest companies in America made $40 billion in profits and paid zero in federal income taxes.” And, of course, this is complete nonsense. Companies are taxed on profits. Usually, when socialists make these types of claims, they are referring to gross revenue. In this case, Biden is misquoting a study done by a left-leaning think tank, ITEP, which looked at “pretax profits,” a questionable term. What they were probably examining was pretax income, not profits.

The Secretary-General has proven that he’s focused mainly on ensuring the survival of the murderous Hamas terrorists, and not on aiding in the release of the hostages. A ceasefire means abandoning our female hostages in the hands of genocidal rapists.

  24. AND ANOTHER ONE: Boeing Plane Forced to Land After Fuel Starts Leaking Out During Takeoff (VIDEO)
    by Cullen Linebarger Mar. 13, 2024 12:00 pm173 Comments

The woes continue to pile up for Boeing.

As NBC Bay Area reported, a scary scene unfolded Monday after one of the troubled manufacturer’s planes, a 777-300 jet, was forced to land due to fuel leaking from its right landing gear.

The incident occurred just 10 seconds after United Airlines Flight 830 from Sydney to San Francisco took off. Video captured by plane spotter New York Aviation shows clear images of fluid spewing from the plane.

A passenger video also shows the airline crew dumping fuel before the plane lands.

NBC Bay Area reports the crew of the Boeing 777-300 jet continued over the ocean for a while before turning around.

The plane later landed safely back at the airport in Sydney. No one was injured, but the incident is now under investigation.

This marks the FIFTH alarming incident involving a Boeing Plane in just seven days. For example, an even worse incident occurred the same day when 50 passengers were injured on the firm’s 787 Dreamliner during a flight from Sydney to Auckland.

  25. Jonathan Turley Explains Why Fani Willis’ RICO Case Against Trump in Jeopardy After Judge Dismisses 6 Counts
    by Cristina Laila Mar. 13, 2024 3:00 pm0 Comments

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee on Wednesday dismissed 6 charges in Fani Willis’ bogus RICO case against Trump and his associates.

In August Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis hit President Trump and 18 others with RICO and conspiracy charges for daring to challenge the 2020 election.

A Fulton County grand jury returned a 41-count indictment which included RICO and conspiracy charges against Trump.

On Wednesday Judge McAfee quashed 6 counts in Fani Willis’ indictment – including 3 counts against President Trump.

    According to the ruling:

    Count Two alleges that multiple Defendants solicited elected members of the Georgia Senate to violate their oaths of office on December 3, 2020, by requesting or importuning them to unlawfully appoint presidential electors;
    Count Five alleges that Defendant Trump solicited the Speaker of the Georgia House of Representatives to violate his oath of office on December 7, 2020, by requesting or importuning him to call a special session to unlawfully appoint presidential electors;
    Count Six alleges that Defendants Smith and Giuliani solicited members of the Georgia House of Representatives to violate their oaths of office on December 10, 2020, by requesting or importuning them to unlawfully appoint presidential electors;
    Count 23 alleges that multiple Defendantssolicited elected members of the Georgia Senate to violate their oaths of office on December 30, 2020, by requesting or importuning them to unlawfully appoint presidential electors;
Count 28 alleges that Defendants Trump and Meadows solicited the Georgia Secretary of State to violate his oath of office on January 2, 2021, by requesting or importuning him to unlawfully influence the certified election returns; and
Count 38 alleges that Defendant Trump solicited the Georgia Secretary of State to violate his oath of office on September 17, 2021, by requesting or importuning him to unlawfully decertify the election.

The judge in his ruling left the door open to a superseding indictment, however, this move still may not get Fani Willis her pre-election conviction since the defense is allowed discovery and time to respond to any new charges.

Judge McAfee is still weighing whether to disqualify Fani Willis and her office after it was revealed she financially benefitted from an improper relationship with Nathan Wade, the special prosecutor she hired to hunt down Trump.

Constitutional law professor Jonathan Turley explained why the judge’s decision to quash six counts of the RICO indictment severely wounded Fani Willis.

“Judge McAfee dismissal of the six counts presents a difficult question for the prosecution. If they try to secure a superseding indictment to correct the earlier mistakes, it will make it difficult to try the case before the election… The defense is allowed discovery and time to prepare for the new alleged crimes. That will take time off the clock. The court has indicated that they can still rely on the underlying conduct to make out the general racketeering charge. However, that theory was already thin soup and it just got a bit thinner,” Turley said.

Turley continued: “Part of the value of the multiplicity of counts was to convey a pattern criminality as a foundation for the more serious racketeering charges. This does not disable the case, but it adds yet another set back for the prosecution as it awaits the disqualification decision.”

  26. The ‘New York Pizza Party’: NYC’s Green Rule Could Shutdown Upwards of 100 Pizza Joints in the City – March 20th Protest Announced
    by Brian Lupo Mar. 13, 2024 3:40 pm305 Comments

The climate tyranny continues—this time in New York City. As if New Yorkers dealing with an influx of illegal immigrants thanks to their state’s “Sanctuary City” law wasn’t difficult enough for citizens of the Big Apple, a new Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) rule will further hamper the ‘comeback’ for many iconic eateries. On April 27th, local pizzerias and bagel shops will be forced to replace their wood-burning or coal-burning ovens with more ‘green’ options or install expensive air filtration systems.

The NYC ‘rule’ will essentially require pizzerias with pre-2016 ovens to invest in a filtration system that will reportedly cost upwards of $20,000, according to the New York Post back in June:

Under the mandate, restaurants with coal-and-wood-fired ovens must hire an engineer or architect to assess the feasibility of installing emission controls devices to achieve a 75% reduction in particulate emissions.

If this report concludes that a reduction of 75% or more cannot be achieved, or that no emissions controls can be installed, it must identify any emission controls that could provide a reduction of at least 25% or an explanation for why no emission controls can be installed.

Many of these businesses barely survived the COVID-lockdown authoritarianism from the Cuomo/De Blasio administrations that forced them to shut down for months on end. More than 50 restaurants closed permanently just in October 2020 alone. Eater New York kept a running list of businesses that were shut down due to the Draconian measures taken by the state and local governments.

Another NY Post article from July mentions that Satmar Broadway Matzah Bakery spent $600,000 on filtering systems ahead of the rule.

X User Corpy of The Corpy Show laid it out beautifully in his recent X rant. The New Yorker monologues about the costs to these iconic NYC staples and the underlying push towards more corporate ‘pizza’ places like Dominos and Papa Johns, as well as the lack of concern for the pollution caused by unnecessary skyscrapers and the flood of illegal migrants among other issues:

This has led New York “Patriot-Activist-Artist” Scott LoBaido to call for a protest at noon on Wednesday, March 20th. The concept behind the protest is reminiscent of the historic Boston Tea Party: LoBaido is encouraging New Yorkers to assemble peacefully at City Hall with two pizzas and a dozen (or two) bagels. One pizza will be to “feed the pigeons,” while the other will be handed out to feed the homeless in the area:

  27. Mexican Military Incursions On US Soil Worry Border Agents

As daylight begins to fade at an abandoned illegal immigrant camp at the border wall near Jacumba, in California’s San Diego County, a couple of Mexican soldiers armed with assault rifles patrol the rocky terrain in the hills above.

Below them, white tents along the Mexican side of the border wall signal the army presence as Mexican national guard (Guardia Nacional) troops pull up in a truck. They set up camp here in early February.

On Feb. 29, a Mexican soldier hides behind a rock as he realizes reporters have seen him on the U.S. side of the border. Several moments later, he ducks back under the barbed wire fence into Mexico.

Manny Bayon, a National Border Patrol Council spokesman in San Diego, said usually any incursion by the Mexican military is directly reported to headquarters and the White House is notified.

After watching an Epoch Times video of the Mexican soldier in the hills above the San Judas break, Mr. Bayon said it’s obvious that the soldier was on U.S. soil.

“They should know better,” he told The Epoch Times. “There’s a boundary marker on top of that hill. I’ve been up there. I’ve seen it.”

Any incursion presents a risk to the safety of Border Patrol agents, Mr. Bayon said.

“When you have somebody with an automatic weapon coming into the U.S., it’s concerning. I mean, they’re not coming here with flowers or to make things better,” he said. “It’s concerning because they do counter surveillance on us.”

And, just because someone wearing a uniform appears to be Mexican military, doesn’t necessarily mean they are, Mr. Bayon said.

“The cartels have also used military uniforms to make it look like they are military—but they’re actually cartel,” he said.
Illegal immigrants walk through a gap in the U.S. border wall to await processing by Border Patrol agents in Jacumba, Calif., on Dec. 7, 2023.

A Border Patrol agent in Arizona, who asked not to be named for fear of retaliation, told The Epoch Times that no incursions go unanswered.

“Any time Mexican military comes on our side, we’re always notified. It’s a big deal,” he said. “We have guys that are liaisons with the south side, so they’re going to be notified, and there is definitely going to be phone calls made immediately.”

Sometimes, he said, it’s Mexican soldiers not knowing where the boundary is or they get lost, especially in remote areas where it’s not as cut and dry, he said.

“But then there are certain areas where it’s very clear,” he said. “We try to play nice with them, because for the most part they’re the same with us.”

“We don’t come in like guns blazing. Typically, we try to defuse the situation and their chain of command is notified. It’s not something that we just allow to happen. There’s definitely people notified immediately. It’s always a big deal if they come over onto the U.S. side and vice-versa.”

Less than three months ago, the gap at the end of this border wall where the military tents now sit, was a pedestrian highway for thousands of foreign nationals entering the U.S. illegally from Mexico.

Mexican smugglers routinely dropped off their human cargo at a footpath leading to the narrow gap, called the San Judas break, where the 30-foot border wall ends at the steep hillside.

In February, Kate Monroe, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and Republican congressional candidate in District 49 who lost in the March 5 primary election, bought a 400-foot coil of razor wire off Amazon and blocked the gap. The razor wire is still there.

A few hundred yards away on the American side at a site known as Willow camp to the U.S. Border Patrol agents, little remains of the dozens of firepits and makeshift shelters where hundreds of illegal immigrants waited to be transported and processed after surrendering to agents in December 2023.

Two other sites—known as Moon and 177 camps—close to known illegal crossing sites near the small towns of Jacumba and Boulevard on the southeastern fringe of the county, are also now patrolled by the Mexican military, according to the Border Patrol.

For all the military presence, illegal crossings haven’t substantially dipped in the area. On March 6, 1,132 illegal immigrants were apprehended in the San Diego sector, which is within the average daily range over the last several weeks, according to Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council.

“We have not seen a drop in total arrests,” he told The Epoch Times.
An illustration with red markings highlighting the border wall and fencing that separates the United States (L) and Mexico (R), near Jacoumba, Calif. , on Feb. 29, 2024.
    A Deal with Mexico?

Todd Bensman, a senior national security fellow at the Washington-based Center for Immigration Studies and former counterterrorism intelligence officer, told The Epoch Times that according to Mexican soldiers he interviewed, they’re rounding up migrants near the U.S. border and moving them south.

“They said their orders are to hunt down all immigrants and give them to Mexican immigration for deportation to their southern provinces. They also told me their deployments are open ended,” Mr. Bensman said.

The increased Mexican military presence along the border coincides with a flurry of bilateral talks.

President Biden hosted bilateral meetings with his Mexican counterpart on Nov. 17, 2023, and spoke with him over the phone on Dec. 22, 2023, which led to a Dec.. 27, 2023, meeting between the Mexican president and a U.S. delegation, including Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, preceding President Biden’s trip to Mexico City on Jan. 9.

“Secretary Blinken will discuss unprecedented irregular migration in the Western Hemisphere and identify ways Mexico and the United States will address border security challenges,” said a State Department spokesman prior to the meeting.

The spokesman also said Mr. Blinken would reaffirm U.S. commitment to the Los Angeles Declaration for Migration and Protection, and “underscore the urgent need for lawful pathways and additional enforcement actions by partners throughout the region.”

After their return, Mexico “mounted one of the most epic domestic anti-illegal-immigration operations in recent memory,” Mr. Bensman wrote.

He surmised the Biden administration may have “cut a deal” with Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to crackdown on illegal immigrants headed northward. Both presidents have elections this year.

“The Mexican army is all over the northern border now doing different kinds of interdiction across from Texas, they’re hunting down immigrants aggressively. And when they find them, they force them onto buses and ship them south,” Mr. Bensman said.

“They are interdicting the traffic on top of the freight trains, blocking access to the rail yards, and pulling immigrants off the trains,” he said. “This is all part of a Biden-inspired and directed Mexican crackdown that is nationwide for Mexico.”

In January, Border Patrol agents apprehended 124,220 illegal immigrants along the southern border, CBP data show. It’s a 50-percent decrease from the record surge of 249,735 in December 2023.

American news outlets have essentially ignored Mexico’s actions while “the Mexican media has been all over this,” Mr. Bensman said.

One Mexican newspaper reported the Mexican government is “under U.S. pressure” to step up its military operations in Tijuana, Juarez, and Matamoros—cities across from San Diego, El Paso, and Brownsville, respectively. In Matamoros, the military recently bulldozed a massive migrant camp and dug anti-pedestrian trenches.
