Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

  1. So according the Marxist Stream Media Haiti has descended into total anarchy. With police stations and prisons being over run and the only airport and sea port being shut down I am not looking to argue. What drives me insane though is that they also claim there are roughly 3000 Canadians trapped there. Oh really were they on vacation? Oh wait that’s the other half of the island. Anyone who doesn’t already know that Haiti is literally hell on earth and a money laundering station for the Clintons and their ilk is living under a rock. So what exactly are 3000 “Canadians” doing there. They did manage to extract one sound bite of a humanitarian aid/NGO person who was there to teach farming. He claims he has had to go into hiding and hope no one nefarious can discovered his whereabouts before he can be rescued. So what about the other 2999? Again for those living under a rock canada does have a thriving population of nearly 200,000 “dual citizens” mostly living in Quebec and in particular in Montreal. Likely because French is one of their official languages even though according to google 90-95 of Haitians are monolingual Haitian-creole speakers. Sorry but if they made it do the “promised land” of Canada what in the actual hell are they doing back in actual hell? The Marxists would quickly say things like visiting family no doubt. Sorry but I am not sorry and I don’t want one single tax dollar going to “rescue” anyone who can afford to jet set between Canada and Haiti when I can’t afford my bills as the carbon tax is set to go up yet again on April 1st. I have included a link to the CBC for reference although I would suggest you don’t waste your time clicking it and definitely so that the CBC doesn’t get another internet impression on their garbage.
    This isn’t the first story about “dual” citizens that I have picked up on my radar but I will leave those rants for another time.

    • I dunno anything about Haiti. If I had to guess, I would say it is people who managed to get a payday from the Canadian government under one auspices or another, and taking advantage of economy of scale.

      In other words, if. you can live a barely subsistence life on Welfare in Canada for what the state pays you, you might be able to live rather well in Haiti for that same amount.

      Anyone who has travelled to the Caribbean back in the 80s, 90s and beyond will be familiar with the difference in the price of things like hotel, food, liquor and of course, local labour for those that want it.

      Many ‘Canadians’ have been doing this for decades, including those born in Canada who have their pensions delivered to other lands where life is more affordable. But probably only a Haitain would move back to Haiti.

    • Gaza, likewise, has Americans and children of Americans, who’d like to leave . (I can’t find the tweets asking for people to write Congress for humanitarian visas.)

    • A Haitian lady has been working for me for a few years.

      Her enormous extended family came over the course of the last two decades. BOTH she and her husband have seven siblings. Complete sets of grandparents, uncles, assorted kin-by-marriage, etc. Their social life is full of christenings, graduations, birthdays.

      They are EXACTLY what America needs. Everybody came here legally – chain-migration. All hard workers. All now American citizens.

      Years ago work took me to the Dominican Republic, so I figured I’d check out its neighbor Haiti. It didn’t look like anything I’d seen in the Western hemisphere, even horrid barrios in Latin America.

      Last year my lady and her mother went to a funeral in Haiti. She never talks about things there. Too horrible.

      Nor will she say much about having to finish public high school after arriving right here in Boston. Imagine teens, sex, drugs, violence. All she says is that she threatens her kids with public school if they get lazy.

      Some of them earned scholarships to highly rated private Catholic schools. Both she and her husband work extra jobs to pay for others, albeit at reduced rates. Between dancing lessons, math camp, helping to clean a cousin’s beauty shop, and so forth, they’re on their way up.

      We have a huge Haitian population in the Boston area. Certainly there’s good and bad. I’m acquainted with the very best: working-class, devout Catholics.

  2. The Great Taking was a free book that came out online a couple of months ago, written by a financial expert. I posted it here at that time. Basically, it says that stock and bond holders are not the senior claimants to these assets should the broker with whom they hold them goes bankrupt. From what I understand this goes for all of western Europe and North America, at least. Of course, I asked myself if this was another false prophet.     The byzantine nature of our markets, banking and legal systems is not friendly to the average person. The 2008 Great Financial Crisis (GFC) is a good example. Despite epic fraudulent behavior backed by good evidence to prove it, no banker, lawyer, bureaucrat or politician went to jail. In fact very few experts even understood how things worked, and how mortgage-backed securities, for instance, could be subprime while rated AAA by the likes of Moody’s rating agency. Nothing coming out of that event led to “the system” being fixed. Few were able to connect the physical collateral (real property) to the financial instrument into which it had been bundled. In fact, it got worse. Since that time debt has exploded to the upside, legislation in most every country has quietly been passed allowing for bank bail-ins with depositors’ funds (Canada 2013 Harper Fall budget), and economies are failing under a blizzard of false government statistics designed to hide the rot. In this regard understand that the money you have in your bank is not yours, and it isn’t even there. You are entered as an unsecured creditor who must get in line Monday morning for partial compensation should your bank close its doors on a Friday night. Ask a Cypriot. The financialization of, basically, everything means that collateral is rehypothecated again and again. This means real things are sold again and again by Wall Street wizards, and when the music stops there will be hundreds, if not thousands of claimants to the underlying assets. For a quick analog of this look at the precious metals futures market, where there are about 100+- claimants to every physical ounce of gold.

    Here, another experienced expert delivers more of the very detailed, dry, tedious information needed to validate what the writer above says. I don’t expect many to watch, but given the mature demographic of the readership here my guess is many have something to lose, and you should be doing something to protect yourself. Your registered retirement savings plan is a sitting duck. Quack, quack.

    Property ownership is also problematic given that confiscatory property taxes levied by insolvent cities will render you free of your burdens should you not pay them. This really means you don’t really own what you think you own. The message here is extinguish your mortgage now if you are able. This way you are only exposed to the property tax.

    Prediction: when you stomp into your portfolio manager’s office whence your great loss is realized he replies, “At least you’ve got your health.” Don’t be that sucker. For starters shed your normalcy bias.

  8. April Fools’ Day / All Fools’ Day is approaching and Canadians will again be treated with many jokes from the Federal Government clowns.

    Beer tax will only be 2% increase instead of 6.4%. Yippy

    Carbon tax will increase —yes, the sky is falling, falling, falling, ha ha ha

    And the biggest joke of all will be members of parliament getting between $8,000 to $16,000 pay increase. The country is now more than a trillion dollars in debt but— as Carol Hughes, NDP / Liberal supporting, MP for the area I live in explained to me a couple of year ago, it is automatic and she could not stop it. I explained to her that millions of Canadians had lost their jobs, restaurants, small business etc. were having an immense struggle to stay afloat because of Covid mandates, and her answer was her raise was electronic and she could not stop it.

    I did try LOL — years ago when I was in Ireland, while walking in an old grave yard I saw a head stone that read “She done her best”.

        My Irish grandfather died at 97. He walked a few miles to the pub everyday, had a few shots and walked home. He was never sick, said Irish whiskey was medicinal.

    Special Counsel Robert Hur is testifying before Congress today.

    Hur was subpoenaed in February to testify before Congress regarding his findings in the Joe Biden classified documents case.

    Special Counsel Robert Hur last month released a 345-page report on his investigation of the stolen classified documents.

    Biden’s stolen classified documents were scattered all over the place in damaged cardboard boxes and unlocked drawers at the Penn Biden Center. The documents were also easily accessible in Biden’s Delaware garage and basement den.

    Robert Hur found that Joe Biden “willfully retained” classified information, however, he decided not to charge him. Hur said there is evidence Biden retained classified notebooks, “knowing he was not allowed to do so.”

    The Justice Department defended not bringing charges against Biden because he’s a “sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”

  11. Federal Judge Finds Christian Pro-Life Activist Guilty After Singing Popular Hymn “HOLY HOLY HOLY” and Quoting Bible Outside Abortion Clinic

    U.S. Federal Judge Joe Anderson, in a non-jury trial, found Christian pro-life activist Steven Lefemine, 68, guilty of violating the Freedom of Access of Clinic Entrances Act (FACE ACT) after he sang the popular hymn “Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty” and recited Bible verses outside of an abortion clinic in Columbia, South Carolina.

    On November 15, 2022, Lefemine was protesting against abortions outside the Planned Parenthood South Atlantic in Columbia by singing hymns and quoting Bible scriptures.

    Shortly after Lefemine’s protest began, the staff of the abortion clinic, along with the police officers, asked Lefemine to stop blocking the entrance of the abortion clinic, to which Lefemine replied he would only leave if “They agree not to kill babies today.”

    At his trial, Lefemine represented himself and cited the U.S. Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and Bible passages from Psalms, Exodus, Matthew, and Acts.

    On the upside, the left’s bloodless coup, wielding as its weapon nightmare visions of “insurrection” never charged, much less proven in court, has failed … at least for now.

    On the downside, the leftist lie that the Supreme Court somehow saddled us with a divided “5-4” decision will become embedded in the public consciousness along with other “factoids,” further dividing the nation and adding inertia to schemes of “packing” the Court with nascent Marxists.
    Oh, you didn’t hear? It wasn’t a unanimous 9-0 decision to end “blue” state plots to preempt who you can vote for. No, no. The SCOTUS decision was a profoundly divided “danger to democracy” by an overreaching, partisan Court.

    Newsbusters’ compendium of the “mainstream” media meltdown is quite a spectacle, featuring news outlets like MSNBC and CNN sputtering that if you just “scratch the surface,” it was really a divided SCOTUS decision driven by those nasty conservative justices to benefit an “oath-breaking insurrectionist.”

    Better legal minds than mine can analyze the impact of SCOTUS limiting enforcement of Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment solely to Congress. What I’d like to discuss are the political dynamics involved.

    First, anyone who has promoted the line that our Constitution is a “living document,” the interpretation of which must shift like sand with political winds, should understand that they are now tasting the fruits of their labors. Once you start “reinterpreting” foundational documents, corresponding reinterpretation of underlying concepts such as liberty and democracy can’t be far behind.

    “Doublethink” was the word George Orwell used in 1984, to describe the ability to simultaneously hold – and exercise – two or more utterly contradictory ideas; to speak obvious lies as truth.

    And doublethink is exactly what the left is displaying as it attempts to interfere with elections (under the banner of preventing “insurrection,” of course) while simultaneously denouncing the SCOTUS decision to stop the interference as, itself, interference.

    I’ve long said that we’ve reached a point in American political debate where facts don’t matter. But the leftist tantrum over the recent Supreme Court decision illustrates something far, far worse: We have reached a point at which it is no longer possible to speak truth.

    If you ask Google whether men can become pregnant, it will answer “yes;” if you promote race-blind admission policies at universities, you are “racist;” if you oppose sexually explicit materials for Third Graders, you are “homophobic;” if you point out election irregularities (e.g. 2000 Mules), you are an “election denier;” if you oppose the invasion by millions of illegal aliens, you are a “great replacement” conspiracy theorist; and yes, if you oppose arbitrary removal of conservative candidates from the presidential ballot, you are “insurrectionist.”
    I fear that with generations now brainwashed with doublethink, it might be impossible to stop our slide toward societal self-immolation. But I’ve never been one to give up without a fight, and I suggest you do the same.

    Amid the media frenzy over the SCOTUS decision, an interview with one leftist “intellectual,” Larry Sabato of the University of Virginia, inadvertently let spill the greatest doublethink lie of all when he lamented, “You can’t save the people from themselves.”

    You see, that is the lie that underpins all the others: That you can’t even be trusted to run your own life, much less to make decisions for the future of your country.

    A New Terror Threat Is Emerging in Europe Linked to Iran, Gaza War

    In a previously unreported investigation last December, police in Austria and Bosnia arrested two separate groups of Afghan and Syrian refugees who carried arms and ammunition, including Kalashnikov assault rifles and pistols. Investigators found pictures of Jewish and Israeli targets in Europe on some of their mobile phones.

    Investigators said Europe’s terror threat is coming from new sources, including Iran and its proxies in the Middle East, including Hizbullah and Hamas. In December, German police launched raids across the country targeting Hamas and its affiliates.

    German and Dutch investigators also arrested four people for receiving the order from Hamas to open a secret cache of weapons and attack Jewish targets in Berlin and elsewhere in Western Europe. German prosecutors said Hamas had buried the weapons underground in Europe years ago but that the suspects, all longstanding Hamas members involved in the group’s overseas operations, wouldn’t reveal where.

    Both Hamas and Hizbullah have so far used Europe as a fundraising hub and a safe house for operatives. But the recent raids on Hamas suggest those groups are now pivoting to plotting assassinations and sabotage in Europe, directed mainly at Jewish and Israeli targets.

    What’s Behind the Propaganda War Against Israel

    What does Israel have to do to be allowed by the rest of the world to defend itself? The insistent effort by some governments, officials and much of the media in the U.S. and Europe to get the Jewish state to relent against enemies that actively seek to destroy it gives rise to the suspicion that for too many of them, perhaps Israel doesn’t deserve the right to exist at all. Fortunately, Israel doesn’t need the West’s permission to save itself.

    The president feels obliged to balance his support of Israel with a rhetorical campaign of increasingly shrill, daily denunciations of Israel’s efforts in Gaza. He told MSNBC that the offensive in Gaza was “hurting Israel more than helping Israel…and I think it’s a big mistake.”

    Even after the horrors of Oct. 7, Israel is tagged as the aggressor in the media. Israel is said to have – either recklessly or out of genocidal intent – massacred tens of thousands of innocent civilians.

    But in the process of extirpating Hamas it was inevitable civilians would be killed. This wasn’t simply because there is “collateral” damage in any large-scale warfare, but because Hamas intended it that way. To the terror group, the propaganda value of a dead Palestinian child is as great as that of an Israeli.

  16. Iran Stirs Terrorism in West Bank amid Ramadan

    Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on Monday warned of a strong Iranian push to smuggle weapons into the West Bank to fuel terrorist attacks during Ramadan. He said that Tehran is “linked to everything happening in the West Bank and is trying to push weapons, ammunition, guidance, information, deception processes and perception into it.”

    “Five months after the start of the war, it is clear that Hamas miscalculated in its assessment of the situation regarding what Israel knows how to do and what it is willing to sacrifice. They thought they would intimidate us, that they would weaken us, that they would inflict costs that would bring us to the brink of collapse, that our allies would abandon us – none of these things have happened.”

    IDF Foils Palestinian Suicide Bomber Headed for Tel Aviv

    The IDF and Israel Security Agency announced Monday they had successfully eliminated a terrorist in Zeita in the northern West Bank who was planning an imminent major attack in the Tel Aviv area. Mohammed Jaber, 34, was preparing to cross into Israeli territory, armed with a firearm and explosives.

    The Israel Security Agency has thwarted over 250 imminent terror attacks since the beginning of the year and remains on high alert for potential future attacks.

Matt Gaetz grilled Biden administration officials at a hearing Tuesday on plans for dealing with an expected mass migration from Haiti to Florida as the Caribbean nation implodes into anarchy. Gaetz pressed the officials to help the Coast Guard interdict and return migrants to Haiti by deploying the Navy.

    Tuesday afternoon, the New York Post reported the Biden administration is preparing to escort ships loaded with migrants to Florida, rather than return them to Haiti.

    Did President Joe Biden apologize on national television for using the word “illegal” to describe a man who crossed the southern border illegally and is suspected in the brutal murder of a young American woman?

    White House deputy press secretary Olivia Daltonta doesn’t think so.

    During an Air Force One media briefing on Monday, a reporter prefaced a question by saying Biden has “apologized for calling Laken Riley’s killer an ‘illegal.’”

    “Does — does he feel like he needs to apologize to illegal immigrants for calling them what they are — or using the term ‘illegal’?” the reporter asked, according to a White House transcript.
