Reader’s Links for February 28th, 2024

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

For those interested, please check out https://vladtepesblog.substack.com/ as an another avenue of expression.

    • Look at the large chains that are closing stores and laying off people, the depression has started.

  1. Dear Leader’s new law is presented as a defense for on-line child safety, which would be believable and admirable if the government, itself, was not promoting its own Maoist perverted agenda of gender-neutral bathrooms, educational sex grooming, compelled speech, child-mutilating operations, the criminalization of parents who try to defend their children from such heinous medical procedures, and the fundamental endeavor by government to separate children from their parents such as what happened during the pandemic when parental approval was suddenly not required for injections (the apex of private property confiscation).

Clearly, concern for child safety is yet another veneer used to impose censorship and criminalize voices critical to the regime. This fact will not be broadly understood until it is considered in the context of the communist revolution in which we are up to our necks. After this realization it’s as easy to comprehend as 2+2=4.

This Bill is also the clarion call for the end of VTB and others like it, because what I have just written will, in the future, have to be transcribed into absurdist samizdat verse in order to escape authoritarian prosecution.

  2. WATCH: Nathan Wade had Garage Door Opener to Fani Willis’ Home, Had Sex With Fani Willis at Her Law Office BEFORE She Was DA According to Trump Co-Defendant’s Attorney – Attorney Says Terrence Bradley Previously Gave Her This Information
    by Jordan Conradson Feb. 27, 2024 10:00 pm536 Comments

Terrence Bradley, Nathan Wade’s former law partner and divorce lawyer, allegedly told Trump co-defendant Michael Roman’s attorney outside of court that Fani Willis and Nathan Wade had sex at the law office she was renting before she was Fulton County District Attorney.

Bradley was back on the stand on Tuesday after previously refusing to answer questions and hiding behind attorney-client privilege. However, Judge Scott McAfee ruled he was not protected by attorney-client privilege and ordered him to testify Tuesday morning.

Attorney Ashleigh Merchant made this bombshell revelation during her examination of Bradley in the third hearing on a Motion to Disqualify Fani Willis from the RICO case against Trump and 18 co-defendants. Merchant asked Bradley if it’s true that Fani Willis had sex with Nathan Wade at her private law office before she was District Attorney and before Wade was hired to lead the prosecution.

Watch a replay of Bradley’s full testimony earlier here.

The Gateway Pundit reported earlier on text messages that Bradley sent to Roman’s attorney, Ashleigh Merchant, where he said that Fani Willis and Nathan Wade “absolutely” started a relationship before Willis’s office hired Wade.

He further told Merchant via text message, “They will deny it.” Wade and Willis both testified earlier this month that they started a relationship AFTER he was appointed to lead the Trump election interference case. The two also claimed that they met at Willis’s home no more than ten times, but according to geo-tracking data, Wade likely visited Willis’s home 35 TIMES.

Despite having text message receipts, Bradley repeatedly claimed that he did not remember any conversations he had with Wade or what messages he sent to Merchant.

  3. ‘They kill and play with their victims’ bodies like dolls’: The elephants terrorising Thailand

It was a stone’s throw from her garden, on the edge of the forest, where Boonsri Pakdee’s husband died after his limbs were torn from his body in a savage attack.

“That’s the spot,” she says, pointing at a green palm tree less than 200 metres away. “That’s where I found him. That’s where my heart broke.”

Pae Pakdee had been crossing the plantation behind their house in eastern Thailand when he encountered the animal that would rip him apart like a rag doll: a 10-foot-tall bull elephant nicknamed ‘Yellow’.

Gruesome photos show 73-year-old Pae’s lifeless body was a mangled mess by the time he was found. All that is left now are the colourful fragments of ‘ping pong’ bombs used to scare elephants away.

The homemade mini explosives, bought at the roadside, are one of the few defences helpless locals have against the marauding animals in this corner of Thailand, where repopulation efforts have carried unexpected outcomes.

A decade ago, Boonsri, 69, had never even seen an elephant in her small village. But recent efforts to bring back the animals – including a ban on hunting with a ten-year jail sentence for killing elephants – have been coupled with an ever-shrinking natural habitat.

This has brought the majestic creatures, some the size of a small house, into close contact with humans. After years of endangerment, numbers in the wild have surged – yet the consequences have been fatal for local communities.

“They grab you, they slap you to a tree, sometimes they make sure you’re dead by stepping on you or using their tusks. They can play with bodies like it’s a doll,” says Taan Wannagul, a researcher at the Eastern Elephants Education Centre.

“Naturally elephants will not attack, but people throw the ‘ping pong bombs’ and make loud noises to drive the elephants away,” he adds. “Now [the elephants have] become more aggressive.”

    ??Campaign Finance ?: Letitia James

When I got asked to look into Letitia James’ financials last week, I really wasn’t expecting to find much. As you probably know, James is the Attorney General of New York who just secured a $454 million judgement against Donald Trump.
James was elected as the NY AG in 2018 and re-elected in 2022. Prior to that James was the NYC “public advocate” for 4 years and a NYC city council member for 8 years prior to that. Prior to elected office she was a public defender for Legal Aid.
IOW Letitia James is a lifelong public servant and other than a mishap in the 2010s where she neglected to list the Brooklyn brownstone she owns & rents out on her financial disclosure forms, she hasn’t had any public scandals.
With that being said, I’m not quite sure what I was expecting to find but I do know I wasn’t expecting what I found.
The first thing you’ll notice when you download and sort the expenditures of any politician running for reelection in a safe seat is how they use their campaign funds to supplement their lifestyles to a degree middle America could never dream of.
What do I mean? Well, in 2023 alone, James spent over $28,500 on hotels. Over $15,000 of that was spent on luxury hotels in Puerto Rico. Image
Then there’s the airfare. In the 5 years she’s been the New York State AG, James’ has spent over $84,000 on airfare to fly herself all over the country.

This includes private jet rentals. Image
She’s billed her campaign over $20,000/year for meals. And no, these aren’t large catering events.

These are receipts for everything from $18 at Dunkin Donuts to $60 at Dave & Busters to $165 at an oyster bar in Massachusetts and then $700 at a steakhouse in Brooklyn.
Then there’s thousands spent on Ubers and Lyfts.

Tens of thousands spent on “office” at everywher

  5. Russia! Russia! Forever: An Anatomy of a Left-wing Obsession
    28 Comments / February 26, 2024

    Collusion about Collusion

The more candidate Trump in 2016 trolled the Clinton campaign (e.g., “Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing, I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press”), the more the irate left bought into hysterical conspiracy theories.

Finally, the left became completely unhinged after the 2016 victory. An Obama-era Pentagon lawyer published an essay exploring the chance for a military coup. Retired lieutenant colonels called for a Pentagon intervention. Retired four-stars could not decide whether he was Hitler-like, Mussolini, or the architect of Auschwitz. Celebrities competed to find the most savage image of eliminating Trump—whether by combustion, incineration, decapitation, lethal shooting, or stabbing.

Since then, the press has run with lurid stories about Trump, from having syphilis sores on his hands to “proof” of him beating up Melania. But amid the unhinged hatred, nothing has quite reached the absurdity of the Russia! Russia! obsessions.

In 2016, the country went through crackpot leftist charges of Russian collusion that helped to destroy the lives of innocents like Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn, Carter Page, and George Papadopoulos. Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s lawyers (gushed over by pundits as the “dream team/all-stars/hunter-killer team”), despite all the pre-investigational hype and hagiography, spent 22 months and $40 million to find no evidence that the Russians swung the election to Trump.

But in that sordid process, we learned the following: that a felonious FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith was convicted of doctoring a court document to mislead a FISA court in efforts to surveille an innocent man; that the FBI director James Comey recorded and leaked via a third party to the New York Times a private, confidential, and likely classified conversation with the President and lied to the president that he was not the subject of a federal investigation; and that he preposterously claimed amnesia or ignorance on 245 occasions under oath to a congressional committee about the various skullduggery of the FBI under his watch.

Comey was outdone by special counsel Robert Mueller. He claimed under oath that he knew almost nothing about Fusion GPS or the Steele dossier, the twin catalysts that had led to his very appointment.

We learned in addition that Christopher Steele was hired by Hillary Clinton (whose campaign was fined $113,000 for federal campaign finance violations), albeit behind three stealthy paywalls (the DNC, Perkins Coie law firm, and Fusion GPS) to disguise her role.

The British ex-spy Steele’s mission was to find dirt on her presidential opponent, Trump. He did so by compiling a “dossier” of fakery and smears. Ironically, many of the most scurrilous charges might have reached Steele through Russian sources.

Yet the left and cable anchors cited as gospel the dossier chapter and verse—until they didn’t, once the weight of its ridiculousness finally crushed their assertions. Steele, remember, was at one time a paid FBI informant, and as a foreign national, was supposed to be barred by statute from being hired by a presidential campaign.

In one of the notable political scandals in recent history, the present National Security Advisor and former Clintonite campaign operative, Jake Sullivan, used various surrogates to promote the lie that there was some sort of secret “backchannel” electronic “ping” communications between the Russian Alfa Bank and the Trump campaign and Trump Organization. The concocted myth was considered useful in advancing the “collusion” lie throughout the media, until even MSNBC and CNN quietly dropped the accusation.

Note “Russian collusion” destroyed the careers of three former FBI chiefs and a host of others. The amnesiac Mueller was discredited to the point of embarrassment in his congressional testimony. James Comey’s machinations finally entrapped him in a web of deceit and partisanship. Andrew McCabe committed career suicide by lying on at least three occasions to federal officials and allegedly co-dreaming up the ridiculous “wire” caper with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to secretly tape the President of the United States in efforts to prove him unhinged and thus to remove him via the 25th Amendment.

FBI counsel James Baker was instrumental in trying to seed the fake dossier with the media before resigning and being hired by Twitter for a multimillion-dollar salary as deputy general counsel. Twitter, remember, was contracted in 2020 by the FBI to help suppress news accounts deemed unfavorable to the Biden project. Adam Schiff’s House Intelligence Committee’s “minority report” on collusion is now regarded as one of utter fantasy, despite being treated at its release as the final word on collusion.

    Disinformation about Disinformation

Given the sordid Russia! Russia! conduct of 2016, one would have thought the left would have dropped the “collusion” caper. But instead, like an addict, they resumed their fixation again in 2020—as “collusion” now transmogrified into “disinformation.” When Hunter Biden abandoned his Biden-incriminating laptop at a repair shop and its contents reached the media, despite the best efforts of the FBI to suppress it, the administrative state went into action with another Russia! Russia! hoax.

Another member of the current Biden national security team (is there a pattern here?), current Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, called up former acting CIA Director Michael Morrell to round up more than 50 former senior intelligence officials and “authorities” to sign and release on October 19—just three days before the final Biden-Trump debate and less than three weeks before Election Day—a collective letter. In it, the signed “experts” claimed that the released emails on Hunter Biden’s laptop (it was then currently in FBI possession and the agency knew it was genuine) had “all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.”

    Only it had none.

That was a demonstrable lie and soon proved to be—but only conveniently after the election. Note that no one in the FBI challenged that accusation despite, again, being in possession of the contents of the laptop. The laptop farce enabled Joe Biden three days later to assert in the debate:
“There are 50 former national intelligence folks who said that what he’s accusing me of is a Russian plant. They have said that this has all the … five former heads of the CIA, both parties, say what he’s saying is a bunch of garbage. Nobody believes it except him and his good friend, Rudy Giuliani.”

Biden failed to remind Trump that his own campaign flack, Blinken, had helped to cook up the entire scheme to arm Biden in the debate.

Two years later, in August 2022, the Technometrica Institute of Policy and Politics polled 1,335 adults and found that almost four out of five Americans who reported that they followed the elected felt that an honest reporting of the laptop scandal would have altered the result of the 2020 presidential election.

Seventy-four percent of those polled felt that the FBI had deliberately misled the public when it falsely claimed that the laptop was part of Russian “disinformation.” Note that the FBI went further still, enlisting Twitter and other social media platforms before the election to censor any news account that accurately stated the laptop was authentic.

Note also that Hunter and his lawyers, in surreal fashion, are currently suing the repairman for “invasion of privacy” violations—without admitting that Hunter’s laptop is Hunter’s laptop. Hunter, in interviews, has not denied it was his, only that he was unsure. Yet he would never deny his ownership under oath, since he knows it is demonstrably his laptop, along with the contents inside it. So exposing his own abandoned laptop is an “invasion of privacy,” but Hunter does not claim the laptop is or is not his?

No “authority” who signed the letter—not John Brennan, not James Clapper, not Leon Panetta—has ever apologized for spreading disinformation on the eve of a debate and election to alter the results.

For a party that lectures ad nauseam about saving democracy and “election interference,” it is hard to imagine greater interference than a campaign rounding up sympathetic intelligence authorities to mislead the country to warp an election, even as the FBI and social media were doing the same work through censoring news accounts.

    What was Russian Reset?

But who exactly did go soft on Putin’s dictatorship?

On March 6, 2009, in Geneva, to great fanfare, Hillary Clinton, the U.S. Secretary of State, gave Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov a red plastic button with the word “reset” in English and, sort of, in Russian, to mark a supposed new partnership. The Obama administration subtext was that the prior militarist, President George W. Bush, had reacted too strongly to the 2008 Russian invasion of Georgia over territorial disputes in Ossetia. Indeed, for years after, Hillary Clinton characterized the appeasement of Putin that followed as a “brilliant stroke.”

Yet the story of reset for the next five years was serial U.S. concessions to Putin coupled with naïve expectations of Russian reform. Five years later, Vice President Joe Biden admitted that ‘reset’ was an utter failure, given the 2014 Russian invasions of the Donbass and the Crimea, serial Russian hacking of American institutions, and Russian buzzing of American planes and ships. Vladimir Putin had adjudicated the Obama/Biden naivete as frailty to be manipulated rather than an olive branch to be reciprocated.

    Or, as Biden put it:
“All of us, we all invested in a type of Russia we hoped—and still hope—will emerge one day: a Russia integrated into the world economy; more prosperous, more invested in the international order.”

Recall the now-infamous Obama hot mic exchange in Seoul, South Korea, in March 2012, an election year, with then-Russian President Dmitri Medvedev. The latter is now known mostly in the West as Putin’s obsequious megaphone, who routinely threatens Ukraine, Europe, and the United States with nuclear retaliation. Obama, in his message to Putin, seemed to assume reset still constituted quid pro quo understandings, as the transcript of the hoc mic exchange demonstrates:

Obama: “On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this, this can be solved, but it’s important for him to give me space.”Medvedev: “Yeah, I understand. I understand your message about space. Space for you…”

Obama: “This is my last election. After my election, I have more flexibility.”

Medvedev: “I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir.”

Despite all the “fact checker” denials, what is often missed is that the proposed bargain was more than met: Obama continued to dismantle plans for Eastern European-American cooperation to protect from long- and short-range missiles, and so was more than “flexible” on killing a project that might well have given the Europeans some peace of mind after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

In exchange, Putin cooperated by giving Obama “space” during his “last election” by not humiliating his foreign policy failures by invading yet another one of Russia’s neighbors. But after Obama was reelected and after missile defense was cancelled, Putin felt unbound again and invaded both Crimea and the Donbass in 2014, correctly expecting no retaliation at all.

    Obama-Biden versus Trump on Russia

Amid all the narratives of Trump’s “collusion” and collaboration with Putin, there remains one truth that not even the postmodern media can erase. Putin invaded his neighbors in 2008, 2014, and 2022, or in three out of the last four administrations, but, notably, not during the Trump years of 2017-21.

Trump had killed more Russian combatants—perhaps 300 of the Wagner group mercenaries in Syria—than at any time during the Cold War. In August 2019, Trump withdrew American participation from the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty on grounds—supported by the Europeans—that Russians had repeatedly violated the agreements without serious American objections.

Trump sanctioned the Nord Stream 2 pipeline and warned the Germans that their dependency on Russian natural gas was self-defeating and undermined NATO solidarity. Such sanctions were overturned quickly once Biden entered office.

Trump sold offensive weapons—javelins included—to Ukraine, weapons systems previously tabled by Obama. In 2021, Biden froze $100 million in military aid to Ukraine, including offensive weaponry, after falling for Putin’s feints and lies that he was drawing down Russian troops from the Ukrainian border.

Biden, remember, asked Putin not to hack American humanitarian institutions. He said his reaction to a Putin invasion would hinge on whether it was a major or minor one, and offered to fly Ukrainian President Zelensky out of Kyiv when the Russians attacked.

Trump’s ‘drill baby, drill’ policy of flooding markets with cheap petroleum crashed the world price and cut deeply into Russian export income. In 2018, Trump hit more Russian officials, oligarchs, and companies with new sanctions.

One might conclude that Putin enjoys trash-talking and sermonizing American presidents who are careful never to confront him, while he is more wary of unpredictable presidents who say occasional nice things about him, even while they make his agendas impossible to implement.

    2024

As this year’s election nears, expect the Russia! Russia! fantasies to heat up again to mask a failing administration and its indefensible record of a lethally open border, inflation, crime waves, foreign policy implosions, crackpot energy agendas, the weaponization of our institutions, and deteriorating race relations.

  6. HERE WE GO… Democrat Rep. Goldman Accuses GOP of ‘Working for Russia’ for Calling in Hunter Biden to Testify (VIDEO)
    by Jim Hoft Feb. 28, 2024 11:20 am67 Comments

Hunter Biden arrived on Capitol Hill today for his closed door deposition before Congress in part of the Republican impeachment process against his father.

Hunter will testify today before the House Oversight and Judiciary committees. Republicans have investigated numerous bank statements that place President Biden’s second son and crack addict at the very center of their impeachment inquiry. Congress alleges Hunter and his father engineered an elaborate web of lucrative, overseas business ventures that leaned heavily on Joe Biden’s international influence. Joe Biden, his brothers, his son, and family members have benefited financially from those shady arrangements.

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) alleges that just one Suspicious Activity Report (SARS) on the Biden family’s finances that she reviewed at the Treasury Department earlier this year involved “tens of millions of dollars and then some.”

Democrats are already with their talking points. Rep. Dan Goldman accused Republican leaders working for Russia before Hunter’s depo.

Dan Goldman: It is not simply there’s no connection to the president, which we’ve known all along and which was made clear again, but there is a very understandable, coherent business explanation for every single thing that they ask for. And now that all of this China stuff or Romania or Kazakhstan is clearly, clearly baseless and bogus, the only thing that the Republicans have left are these Burisma allegations, which we now know were completely made up by their source, who’s now been indicted because he was working with Russian intelligence to interfere in our election. And so let’s be very clear, because that is the only basis to move forward with an impeachment inquiry. If this impeachment inquiry continues, then chairman Comer and chairman Jordan are working with Russia to interfere in the November 2024 election on behalf of Vladimir Putin, in for the benefit of Donald Trump. That is what this has been reduced to now.

  9. Dementia Joe Biden Makes Unannounced Trip to Walter Reed for Physical Exam
    by Cullen Linebarger Feb. 28, 2024 9:45 am544 Comments

President Biden revealed to reporters Wednesday that he is making an unannounced trip to Walter Reed Hospital for a physical exam.

As the Associated Press reported, Biden went on to claim that a “written summary” would be released later in the day.

Walter Reed Hospital, which serves as the standard medical center all U.S. Presidents, is located in Bethesda, Maryland. Biden has undergone yearly physical examinations since he began occupying the White House.

Biden’s poor health has been particularly scrutinized ever since Special Counsel Robert Hur released a damning evaluation in his report on Biden’s stolen classified documents investigation earlier this month. He described Biden as an “elderly man with a poor memory” after hours of questioning.

Biden showed further signs of dementia after lashing out at reporters during a wild press conference following the report’s release and calling Egypt’s president Abdel Fattah El-Sisi the “president of Mexico.”

However, the exam is highly unlikely to include a mental evaluation. The Gateway Pundit previously reported there would be no cognitive assessment test despite Biden’s obvious signs of mental decline.

White House Physician Kevin O’Connor claimed he would not advise Biden to undergo a neurological exam or cognitive test as part of his belated physical.

The White House is probably scared of the results, knowing they would doom Biden’s re-election bid for good.

Beyond his obvious mental limitations, Biden has had a variety of physical ailments. He had a colonoscopy in 2021, in which a 3-millimeter “benign-appearing polyp” was identified and removed. The report also acknowledged Joe Biden’s stiffened gait (which has worsened), persistent cough, and chronic throat-clearing.

In 1988, Biden had surgery to repair two brain aneurysms with one of them leaking.

An overwhelming number of Americans, even Democrats, have expressed deep worry over Biden’s health and whether he should attempt to seize another four years in office.

  10. Republican bill would let AZ ranchers shoot and kill border-crossers on their property
Doing so now is considered murder, but the proposed expansion of the ‘Castle Doctrine’ would make it legal
    By: Leah Britton/UA Don Bolles fellow – February 23, 2024 2:12 pm

Arizona Republicans want to let ranchers in southern Arizona legally shoot and kill undocumented immigrants who cross their land.

A bill moving through the state House of Representatives would make changes to the state’s existing “Castle Doctrine” law, which permits Arizonans to use deadly force against people who are trespassing or breaking into their home.

Rep. Justin Heap, a Mesa Republican, told the House Judiciary Committee on Feb. 14 that his House Bill 2843 is designed to close a loophole that he claims has led to “increasingly larger numbers of migrants or human traffickers moving across farm and ranch land.”

The bill comes as an Arizona rancher awaits trial after he was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and aggravated assault for killing 48-year-old Gabriel Cuen-Butimea after he shot at a group of unarmed migrants walking through his 170-acre ranch outside of Nogales. Under its provisions, 73-year-old George Alan Kelly would have been justified for allegedly killing any of the migrants.

The bill expands the Castle Doctrine law by changing the law to allow deadly force to be used if the intruder is either in the shooter’s residence or on his land. The law currently requires the intruder to be both on the land and in the residence or other structure designed for habitation.

“Language like ‘and’ ‘or’ ‘either’…that one word can completely change the meaning of how this law is then applied,” Heap said. “If a farmer owns 10,000 acres of farmland, his home may be a half a mile away from where he is, and if he sees someone on his land, can he approach them and (remove) them from his property? This is an amendment to fix that.”

Heap did not respond to requests for comment on his bill.

If passed, the change of “and” to “or” in state law would give a much broader defense to people who use deadly force, as property would only have to satisfy some of the requirements instead of all of them, said criminal defense attorney Jack Litwak.

“The idea with the Castle Doctrine is that you are supposed to be able to defend house and home,” he said.“This seems to broaden it to say you can shoot someone that’s just on your actual property.”

Litwak said that he believes that Heap’s legislation would extend self-defense laws to justify the use of violent force similar to the events that led to Cuen-Buitimea’s murder.

Arizona is one of about 30 states with laws that remove the duty to retreat first before taking violent action, setting Arizona apart from states like Florida and Louisiana that are among the 10 states that do have explicit “Stand Your Ground” laws permitting violent force if one feels that they are being threatened.

Such laws sparked national debate in 2012, after Florida neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman was acquitted of murder charges after claiming self defense in fatally shooting 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, who was visiting his father.

The conversation was reignited last April, when 16-year-old Ralph Yarl was shot in the head and arm by an 84-year-old homeowner for ringing his doorbell. Many worried that the shooter would be protected by Missouri’s “Stand Your Ground” law.

Just days later, 20-year-old Kaylin Gillis was shot and killed by a homeowner in upstate New York after she and her friends pulled into the wrong driveway while looking for a party.

Still, these incidents are not anomalies. A 2022 JAMA Network study showed that “Stand Your Ground” laws were linked to an 8-11% increase in monthly rates of homicide and firearm homicide, leading researchers to conclude that the enactment of similar legislation across the country was directly related to an increase in violent and avoidable deaths.

In committee, Rep. Alex Kolodin, R-Scottsdale, praised the bill for protecting people who could be accused of using excessive force in these situations.

“This is a great Second Amendment bill, that is also protecting the rights of the accused to make sure we are taking ambiguity out of our law,” Kolodin said.

It passed through committee with a 5-3-1, with every Democrat on the panel voting against it.

On the floor, Maryvale Democrat Rep. Analise Ortiz was a “strong no” on the measure.

“HB2843 expands the (Castle Doctrine) law in a way that I think is very dangerous, as guns continue to wreak havoc upon our communities. I do not think there is any sense in giving a green light to more extrajudicial killings,” Ortiz said.

The bill was approved by the state House on Feb. 22 by a 31-28 vote, with Republicans in favor and Democrats opposed. It now heads to the Senate for further consideration.

  11. Harari, speaking of the little people, the common people, the useless eaters and 15 minute cities reminds me of the Homestead Act ditty.

How happy I am on my government claim,
    Where I’ve nothing to lose and nothing to gain;
Nothing to eat and nothing to wear,
Nothing from nothing is honest and square,
But here I am stuck, and here I must stay
    My money’s all gone, and I can’t get away;
There is nothing to make a man hard and profane
Like starving to death on a government claim.

So here we are in the year 2024
    Your opinion is not valued
Just shut up, say no more.
Fall in line, do what the global clowns say
    Or you may be imprisoned
    And just rot away.

  12. BREAKING: Supreme Court Agrees to Hear Trump Presidential Immunity Claim in Jack Smith January 6 Case – Trial May be Postponed Past November
    by Cristina Laila Feb. 28, 2024 4:40 pm135 Comments

The US Supreme Court on Wednesday agreed to hear Trump’s presidential immunity claim in Special Counsel Jack Smith’s January 6 case in Washington, DC.

The high court will hear oral arguments on an expedited schedule the week of April 22 and decide by the end of the term in June or sooner.

Judge Tanya Chutkan postponed the March 4 trial date indefinitely as Trump’s immunity argument makes its way through the courts.

Jack Smith’s January 6 trial may be postponed past November.

“If the Supreme Court decides quickly to reject Trump’s bold immunity claim, it may permit a final trial on the 2020 election interference to occur later this summer or fall. But there’s no guarantee a final decision will actually come before November.” far-left The New Republic reported.

“Former appeals court Judge Michael Luttig predicted that it is now probably “unimaginable” that Trump will be tried in special counsel Jack Smith’s federal election interference trial before the 2024 election.” – TNR reported.

Earlier this month President Trump asked the US Supreme Court to pause the immunity ruling in Jack Smith’s January 6 case in DC.

The order setting argument on immunity for April 22 is a blow to Smith on the calendar. Rather than granting a stay, it has constructively created such a stay by scheduling the argument. Keep in mind, even if Smith prevails, pre-trial work must wait for the return of the mandate

  14. New York AG Letitia James Files Lawsuit Against Worlds Largest Beef Producer for ‘Misleading Public’ About its Impact on Climate
    by Cristina Laila Feb. 28, 2024 5:20 pm0 Comments

New York Attorney General Letitia James is now seeking to punish the worlds largest producer of beef products.

A far-left judge recently ordered Trump to pay a $355 million judgment (which has now swelled to $464 million with interest) and banned Trump from doing business in New York for 3 years after Letitia James sought to destroy the former president.

Now she’s waging a war on meatpacking giant JBS USA Foods Co.

“The lawsuit filed in a New York state court in Manhattan seeks a $5,000 civil fine per violation of state business laws, and to recoup ill-gotten gains from false sustainability claims.” – Reuters reported.

“I’m suing @JBSFoodsUSA, the world’s largest beef producer, for misleading the public about its environmental impact,” Letitia James said on X. “The beef industry is one of the largest contributors to climate change, and JBS has falsely advertised its commitment to sustainability and endangered our planet.”
