Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

  3. Leon Trotsky was one of history’s great community organizers. So talented was he in this field that even the Canadian government kicked him out of Nova Scotia after just one month there. He was a leading Menshevik ideologue and an original globalist.

    Eventually he rose to lead the Red Army under Lenin. It was he who devised the brutal technique of “blocking”–that is shooting troops who dared turn around or tried to run away instead of advancing toward enemy lines. It was also Trotsky who initiated the concept of perpetual revolution, which I posit evolved into the “normalization” element of the Soviet occupation model.

    Stalin the Bolshevik was rising through the ranks while Trotsky was already second in power to Lenin. During this rise Stalin gathered influence for the ultimate purpose of undermining the advantaged Trotsky.

    Of course, it was the more savage Stalin who prevailed after Lenin went to that big all-you-can-eat collectivist buffet in the sky. Trotsky, ever the persistent professional writer, ideologue and pest, had to go.

    Following Trotsky’s exile to Mexico, Stalin sent a classic singing telegram in the form of a pick-axe, buried like a tomato plant, into his head. This ended Trotsky’s other talent of attaining free travel-by-government-exile tickets. It also furthered Stalin’s reputation as a really, really mean guy–a quaint quality rebranded by envious modern communists as belonging only to their secret brother, the Nazi.

    The tomato planted in Trotsky’s skull all those years ago flourishes to this very day. Internationals such as Dear Leader, Macaroni, Sunak and Carney bounce along–internationally–with the happy hope they’ll get it all right next time.

      That’s the message 0biden’s gang dictated to its pet Israeli politicians (who lost the election) and the military/security blob (who failed to do its job).

      Their media is as wretched as ours. It’s hugely demoralizing for those of us watching from here. Constant rumbling of failures on the ground, interviews of defeatist losers ready and willing to give up.

      But Israel is so tiny media spin doesn’t have much impact. People see for themselves and they see slow (and costly) progress. The vast majority is utterly committed to wiping out this nest of evil. I’m not sure of the numbers, but something like 180,000 Israelis are internally displaced persons. North and south, they can’t go home till this is finished.

      They protest temporizing measures made to appease Washington that cost more Israeli lives. That Bibi let Israel become so dependent on USA munitions and diplomatic support is………unforgivable.
      But that’s where we are.

      So Bibi tries to thread the needle. Put up with Blinken and Austin dictating strategy and tactics. Ridiculous. Besides the obvious experience differential, there’s the fact that they’re really not on Israel’s side.

    Smith opens the video asking his students what they want to talk about. A boy (or young man) off camera asks if he still likes the works of Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling “despite her bigoted opinions.” (Rowling has been attacked and smeared as “transphobic” for standing up for women’s rights even though she has expressed support for the trans community.)

    Through an exercise in critical thinking, Smith leads the student to an epiphany–not by forcing his own opinion of Rowling on the student, but by leading the student to examine his expressed view that Rowling is bigoted.

    Deepfakes are developing to be a real security hazard for individuals and companies, as we’ve come to the point when people can hardly believe in their eyes and ears anymore.

    Swindlers are making the most of the new technology to deceive their ‘marks’ into falling for their confidence tricks.

    Deepfake is a portmanteau word that mixes ‘deep learning’ and ‘fake’. It’s artificial intelligence used to create convincing images, audio and video that are false, and can be used for many applications, including hoaxes.

    Deepfakes, in general, are not illegal, as long as you are explicitly depicting them as such, and not using them for disingenuously misleading people. But that’s exactly what criminals are using it for.

  20. It’s Not The Guns Any More Than It’s The Cars

    A recent YouTube video by CBS News explores a troubling trend: increased road deaths in the United States. Interestingly, the video inadvertently kills the whole “ITS THE GUNS ITS THE GUNS ITS THE GUNS” argument behind gun control. But, just like with guns, the “experts” want to ignore the deep-seated problems that drive violence and instead try to solve the problem with raw government power flexing.

    The video very clearly identifies a big part of the problem: stress and anger. The sad fact is that since the pandemic, Americans are just angry people. It’s not that we’re fundamentally bad or have anger management issues, but there’s a lot of stress on us. Inflation is crappy no matter how the Biden administration cooks the books. Housing is getting more expensive. Interest rates are high, which makes the whole situation even worse. Then, on top of all that, people who have been able to (successfully) work from home are now increasingly being forced back into the office (“Corporate accounts payable, Nina Speaking. Just a moment.“)

    Given that many people are stressed out, struggling and distracted, is it any surprise some people aren’t handling it well on the roads?

    But, instead of acknowledging the need for deeper reforms, like fixing the economy, expanding infrastructure and trying to help people feel better, the experts they interviewed think that doubling down on big government is the answer. Automated speed and red light cameras, tougher penalties and making roads harder to drive fast on are all pushed as solutions that “work in other countries” (sounds familiar?).

    Also, young men are to blame for more of this than others, they say.
    Putting Band-Aids On Bullet Holes

    Being stressed out sucks. Struggling to get by sucks. Being distracted from all of this makes it suck more. The idea that adding more stress and worry onto life with speed cameras, harsh penalties, and frustrating road designs that intentionally interrupt the flow of traffic would help with this sounds insane.

    Sadly, we see this same kind of thinking happen with guns. We’ve had guns for as long as we’ve had a United States. We’ve had full-semi-auto “assault weapons” for about as long as we’ve had cars. But, when there’s a sudden uptick in death and destruction, the “experts” tell us that the tools are to blame. For guns, they want to ban and restrict as much as possible. For cars, they want to make driving even shittier so that more people will ride transit or just stay home in their approved 15-minute travel sector.

    If we were all just good little automatons, ate the bugs, followed the rules, and slept in the pod, they could make us all happier. But, not with a better life as much as happy pills.

    In the case of both cars and guns, the problem isn’t the cars or the guns. It’s the people. And, instead of taking care of people to make things better, they want to paper over the problem by doing things that make us stress out more. I don’t know about you, but I’m not playing this game.
