Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

  4. Yesterday my Jamaican friend called me up. I had secured him a job as a mechanic in an acquaintance’s operation. Last week he was fired, and he was calling to give me an update. Turned out he was on the receiving end of what he considered unfair treatment. After being ordered home and shouted at in fairly spectacular fashion he wrote to the man who had hired him: “Please place your tiger on a leash.”

    He was referring to another employee above him of Palestinian ethnicity. Regardless, I don’t fully know both sides of the situation and it doesn’t matter. What I was left with was the ethnic soup of the matter. The business owner is ethnic from south-east Europe, the screamer a Palestinian, the screamed-at Jamaican, and the list of this little society can go on and on to include a Turk and a Hungarian among others. It’s pretty much the same everywhere. But what about the natives?

    There is only one national command authority.

    The national command authority is the constitutionally mandated, congressionally required, DoD-directed unbroken chain of command from the president of the United States as our commander-in-chief to the secretary of Defense.

    Our entire Department of Defense — the brave men and women in uniform, rely on this chain of command every single day to execute the no-fail mission of protecting this great nation. There is no greater national security priority than maintaining its authority, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

    Any SECDEF who is absent in his duties and fails to notify the chain of command has committed one of the most egregious acts against the national defense of this nation.

    SECDEF Austin, tragically, did just that. For four entire days, he was in a hospital and never informed the national command authority of his incapacitation. No one is saying the SECDEF can’t be out due to illness or even take a vacation, but there is a reason our command authority must be maintained, because the Department of Defense never takes a knee. By intentionally breaking the national command authority and failing to inform the commander-in-chief, President Biden had no idea his SECDEF was even laid up. Worse, the deputy secretary of defense has since admitted she was not even made aware of her boss’s hospitalization until days later- thus there can be no claim of lawful delegation (putting aside the fact that not all authorities can lawfully be so delegated).

    The impact: What order does one take from whom, which is valid, and most importantly, how can there be any confidence it derives from a sound national command authority. Without such, there is no chain of command, and our military remains rudderless.

    During an emergency press briefing, Jennifer Homendy, the chair of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), disclosed that the cockpit voice recorder on the Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 MAX, which experienced a door plug loss mid-flight, had been completely overwritten.

    Homendy said, “The cockpit voice recorder was completely overwritten. There is nothing on the cockpit voice recorder.”

    She continued, “There was a lot going on, on the flight deck and on the plane. It’s a very chaotic event. The circuit breaker for the CVR (cockpit voice recorder) was not pulled. The maintenance team went out to get it, but it was right at about the two-hour mark.”

  12. They Hate the Military

    The Democrats of the past 50 years are certainly not our parent’s Dems. At one time, all Americans (even Dems) honored military members. Today’s Democrat holds extreme antipathy towards the military going back at least to the 1960s. Recall that John Kerry rose to prominence by slandering the military. Jimmy Carter, a Naval Academy graduate himself, drastically gutted the Armed Forces. Bill Clinton and Hillary loathed service members. One Clinton appointee, Sara Lister, even called the Marines “extremists” — most likely because Marines love and defend the United States and she didn’t understand such commitment. Then, Obama did everything he could to demoralize the military by promoting homosexuality in the ranks and allowing women in combat arms (topics for future discussion).

    Decades of denigrating the military and intentionally subverting its combat effectiveness was a prelude to the Biden regime’s open attacks on the military. After Jan 6, 2021, even before the PINO (President In Name Only) took office, Biden and his people began attacking the military, convinced that many military members took part in the protest turned riot; and accused them of being extremists with no definition of what that meant. Accusations of “extremists” sounds very much like communist and authoritarian regimes labelling opponents as enemies, traitors, or something similar; and then using all available resources to arrest opponents because they’re traitors, enemies, extremists, and so on. That’s exactly what Biden, Lloyd Austin (Secretary of Defense), and others did back in early 2021. Austin even implemented a training stand down (Feb 2021) hoping to ferret out any extremists (meaning troops who didn’t support Biden) and those belonging to hate groups. (Listen to Biden; it’s obvious that to him MAGA equates to hate.) No doubt Biden was looking for all those “white supremacists” that he called the most dangerous threat to America. Biden’s accusation of white supremacy is laughable considering that in 2010 he eulogized Robert Byrd, a former KKK soldier.

    Previously, I’ve proven that the Dems are the extremist party (they started a civil war to keep their slaves), the racist party (they started the KKK), the party of Jim Crow, and the party of segregation. It’s insulting to every patriotic American, to all those who have served in the military, to law enforcement, and to all who continue to fight against the Dem’s extreme ideologies, to have those radical Dems label others as the ones trying to destroy freedoms and democracy.

    For almost three years, Austin, the media, and the military’s investigative agencies went on a witch hunt, (excuse me, they investigated) looking for those dastardly extremists. They were out there somewhere. Biden and Austin were on a mission to find them. They looked in those barracks, in that submarine, and in the motor pools across the globe; looking high and low on every base, aboard every ship, and in every secret facility. CNN claimed the military “long had an extremist problem.” Cynthia Miller-Idriss of MSNBC said, “Extremism in the military is a serious national security threat.” Where (and what) was their evidence? They didn’t need any evidence; all of them intuitively know that conservatives are guilty of every accusation the Dems and libs make against them. Fast forward to last week, after three years of searching and investigating, we learned that the Leftist Cabal found no extremists. Why? Because despite what the PINO claims, and despite what the fake media tells us; there are very few extremists (almost none) in the military.

    Hey Dems, I spent over 30 years in the Army; much of it was down range. I will not stand for the likes of Biden, Hillary, CNN, et al. tarnishing the honor, valor, and patriotism of my brothers-in-arms. The military is the least racist, most patriotic group of Americans that you’ll find anywhere. However, very few Dems know that because very few of them have ever served. The fact that your Dear Leaders (from Clinton, to Hillary, Obama, Biden, VP Harris, and Lloyd Austin) were convinced that “extremists” are everywhere tells us that Dems are the true extremists. Dems are the racist party. Your party is a hate group (see Mark Levin’s latest book The Democrat Party Hates America), and are the ones trying to destroy the country. The claims made by Biden and Democrat media that extremists exist in the military are a complete hoax.

    Calling soldiers extremists is typical Biden and typical Democrat. Now that his accusations have been debunked, who thinks we’ll see Biden apologize? Fat chance; it’s been three years and he still hasn’t apologized for smearing border agents, calling them racists and accusing them of whipping illegals. That whipping was a complete hoax, as was his accusations of extremists in the military. Biden’s not sorry for any of it because he still thinks that service members are extremists.

    Then, to prove Biden’s contempt of true patriots, last week he kicked off his 2024 election campaign with perhaps the most divisive speech in American history. In that speech, he attacked President Trump and his 73+ million voters, calling them racists, trying to destroy American democracy, etc. The addled Biden claims he wants to “save democracy” but is using “banana republic” tactics such as having his political opponent (i.e. Trump) arrested numerous times, silenced with gag orders, and thrown off the ballot in numerous states.

    On second thought, perhaps conservatives and military members are extremists. Democrats (and Democrat voters) simply cannot understand true patriotism. After all, it is extreme to voluntarily go into harm’s way, and to put one’s life on the line for our fellow Americans. However, that’s what millions of military members have done since this country was founded. And hundreds of thousands of those brave souls never returned; now resting with the Almighty in foreign lands and beneath distant waters as they helped preserve the freedoms that we have. They died so a buffoonlike Biden has the freedom to denigrate their sacrifices while enjoying a cozy life himself. If that’s what Biden and his Dems call extreme, then I’m guilty, along with millions of my fellow comrades-in-arms.

    On January 6, 2024, the drive-by media went into overdrive, remembering (sometimes while oozing crocodile tears) the horrors of January 6, 2021. It was, they said, the day on which democracy was under attack. It seems that they may be right, although they’ve gotten their facts bass-ackwards. According to Rep. Clay Higgins (R. LA), who has been investigating what actually happened that day, when one deletes the layers of leftist propaganda, it appears that January 6 was a giant entrapment web that successfully stopped official challenges to election certification, made Trump even more toxic and, worst of all, turned his law-abiding supporters into criminals.

    For the last three years, Biden’s “Justice” Department has been viciously prosecuting more than a thousand Americans for entering the U.S. Capitol on January 6. The DOJ did this even though (a) most were inside involuntarily, as the press of the crowd swept them in whether they wanted to be there or not; (b) the Capitol police opened the doors to them (indeed, it seems they could only be opened from the inside); and (c) 99.9% of them, once innocently inside the Capitol, did nothing but wander through as tourists.   14. Apparently, houseplants now contribute to climate change

    The climate-change killjoys have gone to great lengths in recent years linking practically anything and everything as a contributor to climate change. Gas stoves? Check. Dishwashers? Check. Eating meat? Check. Sporting events? Check. Breathing? Check, too.

    Given this history, I must say I was not all that surprised when I read a recent article in the Washington Post claiming, “Indoor houseplants come with a cost to the planet.”

    According to article’s author, “greening indoor spaces can also come at an environmental cost. The trucks that transport plants spew carbon emissions, plastic pots and synthetic fertilizers are made from petroleum and the harvesting of soil components like peat can tear up slow-forming habitats.”

    Virtually everything we buy and consume in the modern age is transported via truck, train, and/or cargo ship. For instance, most of the technological devices Americans buy in spades these days are transported across the entire world, from Asia to the United States. The same is true for the vast majority of foodstuffs, trinkets, and creature comforts that we use on a daily basis.

    Declaring that we should refrain from purchasing these products simply because they must be transported across vast distances via a train, truck, or cargo ship which use fossil fuels, is absurd. If we were to implement this “planet-saving strategy” throughout our lifestyles by avoiding the purchase of products that need to shipped, the worldwide economy would grind to a halt, life would be miserable, and human flourishing would plummet.

    Instead of purchasing a plant from a greenhouse or nursery, the author suggests, “looking for local plant swaps or garden clubs in your area, which are often organized online or on social media sites. Other gardeners are often happy to give you cuttings of their own plants, which you can propagate and grow into plants of your own.”

    Okay, this may well be true. But, if we were to limit ourselves to solely purchasing or bartering for local plants, the number of choices and varieties at our disposal would pale in comparison to the abundant offerings available at most greenhouses and nurseries. Moreover, what if you live in an urban area, where there probably aren’t a bunch of gardeners waiting to give away plant cuttings?

    The author also argues that people should avoid putting their houseplants in “cheap, black plastic pots that quickly fall apart” in favor of “terracotta and ceramic pots that will last.” While I fully understand that terracotta and ceramic pots are more durable and longer-lasting than their plastic counterparts, we should also recognize that plastic pots are much more affordable. For people living paycheck-to-paycheck, which includes more than 60 percent of Americans, perhaps the plastic pot is the only option they can afford.

    The same argument applies to the author’s advice regarding the use of synthetic fertilizers and peat. The author “recommends cutting down on petroleum-based fertilizers, which create carbon emissions during their production.” Instead, he suggests using “organic fertilizers” and “peat alternatives, like coconut coir or biochar.”

    Of course, organic fertilizers, coconut coir, and biochar are much more expensive than their commonly used counterparts. What’s more, petroleum-based fertilizers work better because they are equally rich in the three essential nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium).

    For a great case study on the utter failure of organic fertilizers, see what happened to Sri Lanka after the government banned petroleum-based fertilizers. Spoiler alert: It was a very bad idea.

    Then again, climate change fearmongering is chockful of bad ideas and terrible solutions to nonexistent problems. The climate lunatics’ war on houseplants is ridiculous, but also quite telling of just how out-of-touch these people are.

    Rather than excoriating Americans for the simple desire of having an affordable and healthy houseplant, which bring people pleasure, reduce stress, clean indoor air, and just generally look nice, it would be refreshing if the the Washington Post, and the entire mainstream media for that matter, did their due diligence when it comes to climate change. If they did, they might realize that climate change is not an existential crisis, fossil fuels are the lifeblood of the modern economy, and houseplants are not bad for the planet.

    The Supreme Court has held that the Second Amendment protects arms in common use for lawful purposes. But what does the phrase “in common use for lawful purposes” actually mean?

    The anti-gunners want to define “in common use” very narrowly to mean only the actual firing of a gun in self-defense. They argue that because firearms are rarely fired in self-defense, they aren’t “in common use” and, thus, can be banned. That’s a trap and one we must work hard to avoid falling into. Firearms are prolific in America and are commonly used every day for countless lawful purposes beyond the actual firing of a gun in self-defense.
    Firearms Are “Used” To Deter Bad People From Doing Bad Things

    Let’s begin with a very basic principle: the “use” of a firearm extends beyond firing a gun in self-defense. In District of Columbia v. Heller, the U.S. Supreme Court held that the Second Amendment protects “arms ‘in common use at the time’ for lawful purposes like self-defense.” Self-defense is simply an illustration of a type of “lawful purpose”; it is not the only lawful purpose of a firearm as the anti-gunners would like the lower courts to find.

    But even in the self-defense arena, firearms are commonly used as a deterrent (i.e., brandishing) without being fired. In the 2021 National Firearms Survey, Professor William English of Georgetown University found that in 81.9% of defensive gun uses, the gun is not fired.

    A police officer patrolling Times Square may never fire his handgun at a perpetrator, but its mere presence helps ward off potential criminal activity. The same can be said for the firearm that rests on your nightstand, which acts to deter a criminal from attempting to burglarize your home.

    Think of a firearm like a fire extinguisher. A fire extinguisher is in “use” merely by being present in the home. A homeowner does not need to depress the handle of a fire extinguisher to put out a grease fire to “use” a fire extinguisher. Similarly, you would never argue that a life insurance policy isn’t in “use” because the insured is still living. Or that a homeowner insurance policy was not being used because no claim for a loss had yet been submitted. Americans purchase firearms, fire extinguishers, and insurance policies for the same reason – as a means of protection just in case. Contrary to the arguments advanced by the anti-gunners, a firearm is being “used” for self-defense even when it has never been fired.

    Thus, the first item we can add to the list of lawful purposes for which Americans use their guns is the two-sided coin of self-defense: either firing in self-defense or merely keeping (or brandishing if needed) a gun as a deterrent to prevent against future harm.
    Firearms Are “Used” For Hunting, To Prevent Animal Attacks, And for Pest Control

    The “use” of firearms is not restricted to self-defense against violent criminals intending to do us harm. Firearms are also used for hunting, for example. Whether it’s big game, small game, varmints, birds, trophies, or simply sustenance, hunting is both a sport and a valuable means of obtaining sustenance engaged in by millions of Americans across the country. And hunters use a wide variety of firearms. Whether it’s a modern firearm such as an AR-15, a 30-06 Springfield, or an older firearm such as a black powder musket, hunters employ many different types of guns.

    Another important lawful use of firearms concerning hunting is the prevention of animal attacks. I have written more comprehensively about this elsewhere, but the danger of animal attacks was top of mind for our Founding Fathers who drafted the Second Amendment. This is especially important for people who live in remote places in the American West where wild, dangerous animals roam free.

    Relatedly, many American gun owners today use their firearms for pest control: pest control not only preserves one’s land and livestock, but it may also become necessary to prevent a violent attack. Whether it’s coyotes, feral hogs, prairie dogs, rats, groundhogs, or crows, pest control can come in many forms. Packs of feral hogs demonstrate not just the necessity of semiautomatic weapons but large capacity magazines as well: feral hogs are extremely fast and can be overwhelming, and as a result, modern firearms and capacities are necessary to keep them under control.
    Firearms Are “Used” For Sport In Competitions, To Train, And By Civilian Law Enforcement

    Shooting competitions have a long and storied history in American culture, and they are yet another way Americans lawfully use their firearms. Examples abound: the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC); the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA), fast draw competitions, the Camp Perry National Matches, the Police Pistol Combat competitions, and the Civilian Marksmanship Program, to name a few. There are also competitions across the country for minors to acquaint them with firearms and their proper usage.

    Another use of firearms is firearm training. The Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals has specifically said in Ezell v. City of Chicago (2017) that the Second Amendment protects a right to train with firearms. Firearms training is another lawful use of firearms in the United States.

    Relatedly, firearms are “used” by civilian law enforcement, which includes civilians who might be deputized into service for a variety of reasons. It’s not unusual for citizens to sometimes be deputized as a reservists to help protect their town—such deputization is necessary in wide-ranging areas with little police presence.
    History and Craftsmanship

    Historical shooting activities are another use of firearms in the United States. There are many groups that engage in Revolutionary War and Civil War reenactments that use many types of historical firearms and replicas. We see an example of this every Sunday during the NFL season when the New England Patriots score a touchdown; the Patriots Militia fire their muskets at Gillette Stadium in their Revolutionary War garb.

    While some people are interested in history, others enjoy gunsmithing and craftsmanship. Americans engage in gunsmithing as a hobby or even professionally, and many others also like to make their own firearms, whether modern or historical. Sometimes, you can use weapon parts kits or even 3-D printing to accomplish those goals. There are also all sorts of experimentation and improvement that go on with firearms, such as designing new cartridges, chambers, or other things. People also customize their firearms and even use them as home décor above the mantle and throughout their homes.

    When it comes to Second Amendment analysis, we must remember that firearms are commonly used by Americans for lawful purposes far beyond the rare occasion when someone fires a gun in self-defense. The anti-gunners are working hard to define “in common use” narrowly to further restrict our rights to keep and bear arms. So, next time you hear the phrase “in common use,” make sure to remember the myriad ways Americans use their firearms in the modern age.

    According to a report by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Willis is accused of having a romantic relationship with Wade, who was brought in as a special prosecutor in November 2021.

    Apparently she is “willing to testify in court” that she has seen CCTV footage allegedly recorded by Epstein showing the high-profile men having sex with her unnamed friend.

    While Democrats push for the erasure of biological reality in California, Californians are increasingly rejecting the gender ideology and its outcomes, a November poll found.

    Deseret News reported on the results of the poll Wednesday, noting that lawmakers’ embrace of transgenderism appears to be wildly out of step with what Californians actually believe. For several years, Democrats in the state have led the charge: in 2019, they passed the Gender Recognition Act, which allows individuals to change their sex on government documentation. Another law, SB107, turned California into a “sanctuary state” for transgender youth who are fleeing other states to pursue sex-change hormones and procedures.

    “Under California law, shelters are to admit individuals on the basis of gender identity and not sex, and ditto for any other facilities, such as gyms or spas or restrooms, that are single-sex: single-sex means single-gender in California,” according to the report. “Furthermore, no documentation of gender identity, such as a driver’s license, is necessary; only an assertion of gender is required.”

    As Democrats ramp up their efforts for the 2024 election, some are dangling an old enticement from 2020: if we win, we can pack the Court. In the last election, President Joe Biden refused to say if he favored packing the Court. Now the chatter has again started in the same quarters that a Democrat retaking the White House would allow the packing of the Court with an immediate liberal majority to force through sweeping court mandates.

    Liberals are again stating that the Supreme Court is not fundamentally “broken” because a majority of justices do not share their views on legal questions. In the name of fighting ideological bias, they demand packing the Court with reliable ideological allies from the left.

    This convoluted logic was on display in the Washington Monthly in an article on “how to fix the Supreme Court.” It is a must read for anyone interested in following the new rationalizations for destroying the independence of the highest court.

    Author Rob Wolfe explains with alarm how a majority of justices now do not share his or Democratic views on various issues. Even though this Republican majority has repeatedly voted against conservative positions and often ruled unanimously, it is not enough for Wolfe. They have to be packed.

    On Monday, an Iranian warship passed through the Bab al-Mandab into the Red Sea. And in recent days, Iran's rulers have increased their production of enriched uranium. According to the International Atomic Energy Agency, they may now have enough to produce three nuclear bombs.

    And now they have the delivery systems. Nukes are not meant to eliminate tiny Israel; conventional means could wipe out the population fast. Nukes are meant to deter reprisals from those who consider themselves friends of the Jewish State.

    A nuclear-armed regime in Tehran would be more difficult to contain and deter - and a more valuable partner for Beijing and Moscow.

    President Biden, like his predecessors in the White House, has said that for Tehran's jihadis to possess nukes would be "unacceptable."
