Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. As far as I can tell (comments are helpful) this video on Red China’s economy is legit. It looks more like a depression than a recession, but since regional conditions will vary time will tell more.

    It raises many questions. Firstly, here is an explicit example of what the end of globalism looks like. Incredibly complex supply chains, not to mention deteriorating demand for goods from overseas, are going down or breaking. Globalist central planners either knew what they were doing when they shut down the world economy, or they did not. Imho they could not have known the full effects of disrupting the system like they did because such action was without precedent. Also, given that globalism is the globalist baby, what does this mean for the billionaire class? What does it mean for the middle and lower classes? I can tell you one thing: driving expansion on cheap money and infinite debt is economic and political suicide. Reckonings are mathematical certainties. One of the first casualties will be the conspicuous consumption that we have witnessed for years. Watch Porsche and Ferrari dealerships start to disappear.

    If China continues to deteriorate Xi will take the country to war in an effort to save his own political skin. In the end, globalism and globalists will be exposed for their hubris and stupidity for believing they were gods in command of both the body human, and Mother Nature. Interesting times, indeed.

    • The Chinese economy has been going through a slow motion collapse for a couple of years, things are accelerating and the rest of the world is starting to notice.

      Yes a “Foreign Adventure” is a tried and true method to try and stimulate the economy and increase patriotism, Chinas increase in military spending is an indicator that they are thinking about moving on either Taiwan or India. Several other factors say they probably won’t, the most prominent of these is the way Xi is purging the higher ranks. He is busy firing or transferring high ranking Senior Officers like crazy, the reason that Dictators do this is fear of a coup, political structures like the Communist regimes are breeding grounds for coups.

      Xi seized power from people who wanted to take China to a more Capitalist economy while Xi is a true believer in Maoism. He went along with the move towards economic freedom for a while but decided to stop this when he saw the way the new economic prosperity was causing people to start thinking about more personal and political freedom. Since then he has been busy slowly purging the Central Committee of the people who followed Dung instead of Mao.

      Now he is in trouble because of the tanking world economy and is trying to stave off a coup by firing high ranking officers, arresting high ranking Party Members and shifting other high ranking officers to other commands where the troops aren’t loyal to the commander. A “Foreign Adventure” makes sense as a way to instill patriotism and loyalty to the current national leadership negating the fear caused by the arrest and disappearing of Party members. The firing, disappearing and transferring of high ranking officers is a sign of distrust of the military, during a war if the political leaders want to win the war they have to trust the military leaders with large amounts of freedom to act and react on a moments notice.

      This freedom also allows then to have the freedom to plan coups, this is what Xi is trying to prevent. He may get desperate enough to try a foreign war despite the danger but I don’t think he has reached that point yet, I think the military build up is Xi trying to stimulate the economy the only way he knows. Government spending doesn’t have the same amount of stimulus that private sector spending does but it does provide some stimulus.

      Yes the coming collapse (I probably should say the current collapse) is spelling the end of Globalism showing that the individual nations need to have semi separate economies. Yes I know that the only nations that are truly self sufficient are living in mud huts but every nation needs to have a large percentage of their manufacturing occurring internally and they need to be able to feed the majority of their population by internal agriculture. The globalist have shifted most of the manufacturing off shore from the richest nations and have shifted food production to a few nations while destroying the food production of many of the developed nations. All of the above crimes/sins are coming home to roost and will cause massive problems during the coming decades.

        On December 17, 2023, Chinese professor and military expert Yun Hua, who is a faculty member at the PLA’s National Defense University, shared a video on his Douyin account in which he said that the Houthis have done China a “big favor” by having “indirectly accelerated the shift from maritime to land transportation for Eurasian trade.”

        He elaborated that this shift will likely benefit China’s Belt and Road Initiative, which contributes to “China’s international strategy to sever U.S. hegemony, undermine American sea power, and promote global multipolarity.”

            • I am worried that things are going to get real bloody in the future, that doesn’t mean China attacking anywhere, it means bloody civil war everywhere. One former military man is suggesting that nukes might be used in a Chinese civil war.

  2. To contrast the above here is a take from our side of the world. Yes, the fellow is passionate and has something to sell, but I think he is sincere.

    Around 2013 every western nation passed laws allowing for bank bail-ins. This is different from a bail-out in that a bail-out is when a corporate entity is made solvent by tax payers’ money (too big to fail), while a bail-in is when bank depositors’ money is used to make the bank whole again.

    We know that quickly rising interest rates have rendered many, many banks here insolvent because they were forced to purchase massive amounts of low-interest treasuries. These treasuries have lost a substantial percentage of their value because higher-paying treasuries are now available. (I know it’s complicated, but trust me on this.) The result will be a credit crisis in 2024, wherein lines of credit and loans will be less available to individuals and businesses that rely on credit to operate.

    We know the bankers saw this coming because of the bail-in legislation that was passed. Also, luminaries such as Peter Schiff have been shouting their warnings from the roof top forever. The bottom line is this: check to see exactly what your deposit insurance looks like at your bank. In the U.S. you are supposed to be insured up to $250k. In Canada I think it is $100k, but conflicting sources obscure this. Regardless, fine print on all of this makes things even murkier. You may think you are covered when you may not be. Certain investments, for example, are said to be safe while others are not. Also, if a financial crisis occurs on a large enough scale be aware that the possibility exists that government insurance cannot cover everything, and can fail too. Bankers think in terms of probabilities, don’t forget, and they have been known to get things wrong.

    There were multiple explosions and reports of buildings shaking Monday morning on Roosevelt Island.

    New York City firefighters responded after the reports of the explosions and ground shaking on the 580 block of Main Street, just south of the Roosevelt Island Bridge and Tram, before 6am.

    The explosions caused power outages on Roosevelt Island, abc7 reports.

    President Donald Trump lashed out at Liz Cheney and her lawless J6 Committee after they deleted and destroyed evidence and video recordings after they disbanded their anti-Trump committee.

    According to Fox News, Democrat Bennie Thompson (D-MS) told House Republicans in a letter, stating, “Consistent with guidance from the Office of the Clerk and other authorities, the Select Committee did not archive temporary committee records that were not elevated by the Committee’s actions, such as use in hearings or official publications, or those that did not further its investigative activities.”

    The letter continued, “Accordingly, and contrary to your letter’s implication, the Select Committee was not obligated to archive all video recordings of transcribed interviews or depositions.”

    Trump correctly called this a criminal act – because It was.

    Liz Cheney is no longer in Congress after the people of Wyoming finally gave this nasty woman the boot in record fashion.

    President Trump on Sunday called this act an “extreme act of sabotage.”

    The Gateway Pundit reported on the “numerous and serious violations of academic ethics” and accusations of plagiarism against Harvard University President Claudine Gay.

    The Washington Free Beacon reports that Gay is now facing six new plagiarism charges, revealed in a complaint filed with the university Monday.

    “In a 2001 article, Gay lifts nearly half a page of material verbatim from another scholar, David Canon, a political science professor at the University of Wisconsin.”

    The total number of plagiarism allegations against Gay is nearly 50, or “half of Gay’s published works,” according to the Free Beacon.

    Seven of Gay’s 17 published works have already been impacted by the scandal, but the new charges, which have not been previously reported, extend into an eighth: In a 2001 article, Gay lifts nearly half a page of material verbatim from another scholar, David Canon, a political science professor at the University of Wisconsin.

    That article, “The Effect of Minority Districts and Minority Representation on Political Participation in California,” includes some of the most extreme and clear-cut cases of plagiarism yet. At one point, Gay borrows four sentences from Canon’s 1999 book, Race, Redistricting, and Representation: The Unintended Consequences of Black Majority Districts, without quotation marks and with only minor semantic tweaks. She does not cite Canon anywhere in or near the passage, though he does appear in the bibliography.

  10. EXCLUSIVE: Biden Admin Watered Down Vetting Process For Chinese Illegal Immigrants, Email Shows

    The Biden administration drastically simplified the vetting process for Chinese illegal immigrants in April 2023, according to an internal U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) email obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

    The April 2023 email, which was sent by a CBP supervisor to a “master list” of about 500 Border Patrol agents, instructs CBP officials to radically reduce the number of interview questions for Chinese migrants apprehended after illegally crossing into the country from roughly 40 to just five. The “headquarters guidance” came as border agents were overwhelmed with near-record numbers of illegal crossings.

    This scaling back of the interview process fast-tracked the releasing of Chinese illegal immigrants into the U.S. while making it more difficult for CBP agents to identify national security threats, J.J. Carrell, a retired CBP deputy patrol agent in charge, told the DCNF after reviewing the email.

    “This policy change has accelerated the time it takes to process Chinese illegal immigrants — this doesn’t make America safer,” Carrell said. “The final result is that dangerous Chinese illegal immigrants will still be released into the U.S.”

    “This is just the government covering their ass, so they can say they vetted,” said Carrell. “I believe the government recognizes the threat of Chinese soldiers and spies that are pouring into America, and they want to try and identify these individuals. However, the same government does not want to stop the flow of illegal aliens or Chinese nationals — just the ‘bad ones,’ which is impossible.”

    While previously agents might spend hours vetting a single Chinese illegal immigrant, the new guidance simplifies the vetting process by reducing the number of questions that agents are required to ask, thereby speeding up the flow of Chinese illegal immigrants into the U.S., Carrell said.

    The former law enforcement official who provided the email to the DCNF said human smuggling operations quickly adapted to these new guidelines, coaching Chinese illegal immigrants on how to answer CBP’s shorter list of questions.

    “It was almost immediate where [the Chinese illegal immigrants] knew what to say and what not to say,” said the former official, who requested anonymity in fear of U.S. government retribution.

  15. An Israeli drone strike on Hamas’ office in Beirut, Lebanon, has killed four people, including the terror group’s deputy political leader, local media has reported.

    ‘Four people were martyred and a number of others injured when the Hamas office was targeted,’ in Dahiyeh, an area in Beirut’s southern suburbs and a stronghold of the Iran-backed Hezbollah, Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) said.

    Contrast this with the 1000s of doctors who were fired in BC and Alberta for not taking the COVID-19 vaccines. No paid leave for those brave doctors, as they didn’t assault children (a requirement for paid leave in BC).

    As BC Interior Chief Medical Officer he was responsible for blocking doctors from treating COVID-19 patients with early treatments, he implemented lockdowns, masking and rollout of COVID-19 mRNA Vaccines in pregnant women, young adults & children.

    Please remember, while these healthcare leaders were killing your loved ones by denying them access to early treatments like Ivermectin, Hydroxychloroquine, and were putting them on ventilators and Remdesivir for profit (with most not surviving lethal Hospital protocols), they were also busy sexually assaulting 7 year old children in their spare time.

    And when caught, the leftist BC NDP government, a close ally of the Trudeau Liberal government, paid him an extra $700,000 of taxpayer funds (PAID leave, full salary) for almost two years after he was arrested by RCMP for sexually assaulting children.

    Dr.Villiers was paid a massive salary right up to the point when he was convicted and sentenced (a period of almost two years)

    In Court, he presented 28 letters of reference stating that he is a “good man”, “strong in faith”, a “good friend”, and some top Alberta healthcare Executives pledged they would still trust the accused with their own children

    Alberta’s healthcare leaders did everything possible to keep him out of jail – these letters must be released to the public and each of the 28 AHS Executives that tried to keep him out of jail must be NAMED publicly.

    This scandal should have brought down two Canadian Provincial governments – Premier John Horgan’s BC NDP and Premier Rachel Notley’s Alberta NDP.

    It also should have ended the political careers of NDP leader

    who made Dr.Villiers their PEDIATRIC LEAD, when he had no pediatric credentials.

    Instead, corrupt Alberta prosecutors protected him by convicting him on only 1 child sexual assault charge instead of the 3 children he was assaulting (that RCMP are aware of)

    An armed man was arrested early Tuesday morning after breaking into the Colorado Supreme Court and firing his weapon within the premises. State police confirmed the incident in an official news release.

    The intrusion at the Colorado Supreme Court building in downtown Denver began when the assailant, who was involved in a two-vehicle collision nearby, brandished a handgun at another driver, Denver7 reported.

    He then proceeded to shoot out a window on the east side of the Ralph L. Carr Colorado Judicial Center, which houses the state’s highest court, and forcibly entered the building.

    Inside, the trespasser confronted an unarmed security guard and used the guard’s keys to access other areas of the building, including the seventh floor, where additional shots were fired.

    In October, New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) declared a state of emergency over the influx of illegal aliens into his sanctuary city. According to reports, five or six busloads of illegals are arriving from Texas to New York City each day.

    Last week, Adams introduced new restrictions on buses carrying illegals into NYC in an effort to better handle the flood of migrants thanks to Joe Biden’s broken border policies.

    In the executive order, Adams outlined that the city would regulate how and when buses carrying illegals can enter the city and drop off passengers.

    At a virtual press briefing with the mayors of Chicago and Denver Adams said, “This is not stopping people from coming, but about ensuring the safety of migrants and making sure they can arrive in a coordinated and orderly way.”

    According to ABC 7 NY, more than 17,000 illegals have been bused into New York City in the last few months.

    New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy’s office has now reportedly confirmed that buses are using a loophole to help illegals to get to NYC, and the Garden State is being used as a “transit point.”

    USA Today reports:

    “Our Administration has tracked the recent arrival of a handful of buses of migrant families at various NJ TRANSIT train stations,” Murphy’s spokesperson Tyler Jones said in a statement reported by Politico. “New Jersey is primarily being used as a transit point for these families — all or nearly all of them continued with their travels en route to their final destination of New York City. We are closely coordinating with our federal and local partners on this matter, including our colleagues across the Hudson.”

  28. Man breaks into Colorado Supreme Court overnight and opens fire, police say

    A man was arrested early Tuesday after he broke into the Colorado Supreme Court overnight and opened fire inside the building, state police said in a news release.

    The preliminary investigation “confirmed a high probability” that the incident is not connected to “recent threats against the Colorado Supreme Court Justices,” the Colorado State Patrol said.

    In an afternoon news release, the Denver Police Department identified the suspect as 44-year-old Brandon Olson. He is being held for investigation of robbery, burglary and arson while the Denver District Attorney’s Office makes charging decisions, the release said.

    The Biden regime’s determination to betray the American people and remake America has reached a new level. They now want the U.S. Supreme Court to remove a critical obstacle installed by Texas to stop illegal border crossings, leaving the state defenseless against the illegal alien invasion.

    As CNN reported, the Biden regime wants border agents to have the authority to cut razor wire that Texas has installed on the banks of the Rio Grande to deter border crossers. Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s administration installed the razor wire near the Rio Grande River at Eagle Pass, Texas, to slow the illegal alien invasion that has overrun the state. Crime has skyrocketed, property has been destroyed, and precious state resources are being drained, all thanks to the Regime’s open borders policy.

    When Border Patrol agents caved to the Regime’s dictates and cut through some of the razor wire last October, Texas State Attorney General Ken Paxton sued. He correctly argued this action destroys state property and undermines security to assist illegal aliens in crossing the border.

    A federal judge declined to impose an injunction against the federal government. The conservative Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, however, stepped in and granted Texas a temporary victory last month, ordering Border Patrol agents to stop the practice while legal proceedings unfold.

    Biden’s Department of Injustice struck back on Tuesday, filing an emergency application that demanded the Supreme Court reverse the ruling. U.S. Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar wrote in the court filing that Border Patrol agents have authority under federal law to access private land at the border and that Texas has no right to stop them from carrying out their “duties.”

    Like other law-enforcement officers, Border Patrol agents operating under difficult circumstances at the border must make context-dependent, sometimes split-second decisions about how to enforce federal immigration laws while maintaining public safety.

    But the injunction prohibits agents from passing through or moving physical obstacles erected by the state that prevent access to the very border they are charged with patrolling and the individuals they are charged with apprehending and inspecting.

    Abbott responded to the Regime’s action with pure defiance and said Texas would continue safeguarding the porous border.

    Last week, Capitol Police reported arresting a man on Capitol grounds whose behavior drew suspicions from officers. The man turned out to be armed with a machete, a butcher knife and a brick. Today, Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced the arrested man is a 23-year-old illegal alien from Venezuela who had been arrested by Border Patrol agents near El Paso in 2022 and released because there was no room to hold him. The man is now facing “removal proceedings”, ICE said.

    Also on Tuesday it was reported the Democrat mayor of Edison, New Jersey announced he would send illegal alien migrants back to the border out of concerns they could be armed and a security and health risk.

    Judge finds conservative group didn’t violate Voting Rights Act

    A federal judge ruled Tuesday in favor of the conservative group True the Vote, deciding that mass challenges of Georgia voters’ eligibility didn’t amount to illegal voter intimidation.
    U.S. District Judge Steve Jones wrote in a 145-page order that there was insufficient evidence that True the Vote tried to threaten or coerce voters.
    Jones’ ruling is a defeat for Fair Fight Action, the voting rights group founded by Democrat Stacey Abrams that was the lead plaintiff in the case.
    Fair Fight alleged that True the Vote and its allies violated the Voting Rights Act when they challenged the eligibility of 250,000 Georgia voters before runoffs that decided control of the U.S. Senate in early 2021. County election boards rejected the vast majority of the voter challenges.
    “Not only have plaintiffs failed to overcome the fact that their actions did not result in any direct voter contact or alone include or direct county boards of elections to pursue an eligibility inquiry, but there is no evidence that defendants’ actions caused (or attempted to cause) any voter to be intimidated, coerced, or threatened in voting,” Jones wrote.

    While they are often billed as “common sense” and “public safety,” the gun laws passed by our government rarely achieve either. In fact, more often than not, they are merely another step toward oppressive governmental control designed to disarm a law-abiding populace and strip them of their ability to defend themselves. More blatantly, they are often a bold-faced attack on American’s constitutional rights.

    No doubt, the new laws will be debated for days and months to come by those on both sides of the issue in the legislative halls, the courts, on social media and in the comments sections of websites (no doubt even this one though why the hell an anti would spend time here makes as much sense as a barbecue sandwich at a Bar Mitzvah other than to troll the righteous.)

    But for better or worse, with the start of 2024, a number of states have implemented significant changes to their gun laws. The new laws encompass a range of measures, from restricting gun possession in public places and furthering attacks on the Secoond Amendment to the introduction of red-flag laws, expanded background checks and bans on certain types of otherwise perfectly useful, legit and otherwise legal firearms.
