There has been several attempts at the louvre. As I recall at one point, they might have created a special wing for Islamic art, although I might be confusing this with a British institution.
The louvre also has major security methods since France started being handed over to the Muslims.
A Pope can be cease to be Pope if he is a formal heretic, which has fairly stringent conditions around it. Francis tries to go as far as he can without crossing that line, which is quite obvious even to non-Catholics. There are also legitimate questions about Benedict’s resignation, as there is evidence it was a coerced one, and the creation of his new role as “Pope Emeritus” is an utter novelty, suggesting a partial abdication. Similarly, the conclave that elected Francis had issues surrounding it (machinations by the St. Gallen mafia).
I’m in no position to authoritatively judge any of these issues, but the College of Cardinals should have looked into these issues to remove any possible doubt about Francis’s legitimacy.
