Reader’s Links for November 18th, 2023

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

For those interested, please check out https://vladtepesblog.substack.com/ as an another avenue of expression.

  1. The Community Hebrew Academy named after Tanenbaum in Toronto, the largest private Jewish high school in Canada, was evacuated today due to a bomb threat, and a nearby Jewish kindergarten was also evacuated due to the threat. Large police forces searched the area with the help of sniffer dogs and after more than two hours it was reported that nothing had been discovered.

“We are disturbed and outraged by this incident, which is just the latest in a growing number of anti-Semitic hate crimes in Canada,” the Jewish Federation of Greater Toronto said. “The police are currently recommending that the community activities continue with high vigilance. Jewish institutions should ensure that the protocols are followed, including entry control at the doors.”

  2. Video Emerges Showing Alec Baldwin Firing ‘Rust’ Prop Gun, Teaching Safe Handling Days Before Fatal Shooting
By Aubrey Wursten, The Western Journal Nov. 18, 2023 8:15 am0 Comments
    TruthTweet

Five newly released videos show actor Alec Baldwin getting ready for scenes and shooting prop guns multiple times on the New Mexico set of his movie “Rust,” where days later, he fired the shot that killed videographer Halyna Hutchins.

The videos show Baldwin using the weapon used in Hutchins’ death, according to NBC News, who obtained the footage. Although the gun was a prop, it allegedly contained a live, and ultimately fatal, round.

Baldwin is seen practicing gun draw moves and expressing concern about safety issues, at one point telling a person off camera to move, because “I don’t want to shoot towards you.”

  4. BREAKING: Maricopa County Files Response to Kari Lake – Claims Tabulators Were Working as Intended When 60% FAILED on Election Day
    by Jordan Conradson Nov. 18, 2023 9:45 am0 Comments

Maricopa County filed a response brief Friday to Kari Lake’s Petition for Transfer, which was filed in the Arizona Supreme Court on Tuesday.

In the filing below, Maricopa County attempts to refute claims by Lake’s attorneys that because of illegal settings and secret testing of the voting systems before election day, “at least 8,000 misconfigured ‘fit-to-page’ ballots occurred at 127 vote centers on Election Day.” Lake’s attorneys also argue that “vote center tabulators logged over 7,000 rejections every 30 minutes from 6:30 am through 8:00 pm.”

This testing and reconfiguration occurred with no documentation or logging of tamper-evident seals, without providing the legally required public notice, and without political party observers, violating multiple provisions in the Elections Procedures Manual. It also occurred after the statutory October 11 logic and accuracy test, where they were required to test “any electronic voting equipment” that would be used in the election.

The Gateway Pundit reported on Lake’s Petition for Transfer, highlighting this new evidence of intentional wrongdoings that caused tabulators at 60% of voting locations to fail on election day when Republicans turned out 3:1 to vote for Kari Lake and Republican candidates.

Crime is so out of control in Memphis that police chief CJ Davis doesn’t think the Army can save the day.

OutKick readers know the situation in Memphis is far past bad. It’s downright appalling, and a stain on the entire country that criminals seem to run roughshod in a major American.

  6. Church leader shot in the head while preaching at Glendale street corner

GLENDALE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) — A congregation is in shock after a beloved religious leader was shot in the head while preaching on a Glendale street corner on Wednesday night. In an update on Friday morning, Glendale police say 26-year-old Hans Schmidt, a husband and father of two, remains in critical condition and officers are asking for the public’s help in finding who’s responsible.

It happened on the northwest corner of 51st and Peoria avenues around 6 p.m. Wednesday. Friends say it happened as the former military combat medic was standing with a megaphone on the street corner, preaching the gospel to people passing by, something he’d apparently done countless times before. Only this time, someone pulled out a gun and shot him.

Friends and family can’t understand why. “Who knows why someone would want to take it out on a preacher like that because he’s speaking the gospel and good news to everybody. He’s out to help the community,” said Henry Branch, who lives nearby. Schmidt also helps lead weekly services at the Victory Chapel as the outreach director.

  7. Jewish Rep. Dan Goldman’s NYC office vandalized with pro-Palestinian graffiti: ‘Blood on ur hands’
By Social Links for Victor Nava
    Published Nov. 17, 2023, 8:04 p.m. ET

Rep. Dan Goldman’s Brooklyn office was defaced Thursday night with pro-Palestinian graffiti that read “Blood on ur [sic] hands,” “free Palestine,” and “let Gaza live.”

The slogans were spray painted by at least two suspects on the facade of the Jewish Democrat’s Park Slope district office and on the sidewalk out front, photos on social media show.

“This is what [Rep. Goldman] & staff confronted when they showed up to work today,” tweeted a fellow Brooklyn Democratic official, Doug Schneider, who shared the photos.

“It is a direct result of his speaking out against anti-Semitism & supporting Israel’s right to self-defense. Defacing his office is not a form of protest, it is a deplorable crime.”

NYPD officers were already on the scene when the first Goldman staffer arrived at the building at around 8:50 a.m. Friday, a spokesperson for the lawmaker told the Jewish Telegraph Agency.

The building’s security cameras captured at least two people vandalizing the building, but the perps covered the camera with a plastic bag, making the images unclear, Goldman’s office told the outlet.

“Our office is accessible 24/7 by appointment, phone, social media, email, or mail, and our incredible constituent services team works around the clock to respond to outreach. Harassing, intimidating, and outright attacking the staff of a Jewish elected official at a time of rising violence and rampant antisemitism is dangerous and unacceptable.” Simone Kanter, the lawmaker’s communications director

    The Framers vs. Slavery
    By Stephen M. Astrachan

The Framers structured the Constitution to lead the new Republic to the ultimate end of slavery but were unable to set a time frame for its abolition. The story comes to us from James Madison’s classic Notes of the Debates in the Federal Convention of 1787.

The discussion on slavery at the Federal Convention in Philadelphia in the summer of 1787 centered on two issues: how to count the slaves in the apportionment of members in the popularly elected House of Representatives and setting an end date for the slave trade.

Three distinct groups clashed on the assignment of House representation for the slave population. Delegates from the slaveholding South wanted the slaves counted fully toward representation as they represented real wealth. Charles Pinckney of South Carolina defended slavery as being “justified by the example of all the world… In all ages one half of mankind have been slaves.” Many of the Northern delegates, however, objected maintaining that the degraded legal and human status of the slaves should preclude their having any contribution towards representation. Gouverneur Morris of Pennsylvania led this faction in opposing any representation for “so nefarious a practice.”

Between these two contending sides stood the Virginians. While all of them had been born and raised into a slaveholding society, each had come to recognize that the institution was wrong and ultimately had to go. George Mason of Virginia (ironically the largest slave owner in attendance) gave the Convention’s most impassioned condemnation of the practice: “Every master of slaves is born a petty tyrant… By an inevitable chain of cause & effects providence punishes national sins, by national calamities.”

The Convention adopted the much-misunderstood 3/5th rule which allowed for representation and direct taxation “by adding the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, to three fifths of all other Persons.” (Italics mine) as a compromise.

In Federalist 54 by James Madison or Alexander Hamilton (or both) explained that the 3/5th provision incentivized the abolition of slavery. The Southern States could have the full representation which they wanted only by ending slavery: “if the laws were to restore the rights which have been taken away, the negroes could no longer be refused an equal share of representation with the other inhabitants.”

The Convention’s other slavery issue was the slave trade and setting a date for its termination. Again while many delegates were deeply opposed to the trade, those of the slave-states were adamant. Charles Pinckney put it simply, “South Carolina can never receive the plan if it prohibits the slave trade.” There had been a general agreement to set the end date as 1800. Then the Convention accepted a proposal by Charles Cotesworth Pinckney of South Carolina to extend the period until 1808. James Madison was devastated. “Twenty years will produce all the mischief that can be apprehended from the liberty to import slaves.”

Who is Pulling the Puppet Strings?
    By Allan J. Feifer

The Nazi rise to power was an aberration in world history.

    Or was it?

Based on recent events, is it impossible to believe we could be re-living 1938 Germany’s past? Could we see another Kristallnacht occur in America at any moment? Our country is visibly in freefall, with no leader willing to unequivocally call out the evil that is Hamas and its puppetmaster, Iran. The lunatics are running our asylum, and they hold immense sway.

No, I’m not talking about the titular head of our country, President Biden, either. He is a figurehead, no longer capable of deep thought, if ever before. If Biden ever had any ‘seichel’ (wit or intelligence), it’s been too long since he’s shown any. For a minute, forget about recent polling creating shockwaves running through Democrat circles. You are left to believe the country is firmly in a box of its own making.

But let’s leave Biden recharging in his Rehoboth Beach home and talk political realism. Outsiders are hard-pressed to name anyone who influences Biden’s actions. Listen to a daily briefing with White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, which displays three recurring themes:

Constant reformation of the President’s comments. “What the President meant was…”
“I would refer you to “X” for additional comments.”
An ever-growing hostility to reporters who “push” beyond Jean-Pierre’s scripted verbiage as delivered straight from her notebook.

This president’s administration, supposedly the most transparent of all time, is perhaps the least forthcoming in a generation. None other than CNN states: “Failed to act on a number of transparency issues. Worse, the administration embraces its predecessors’ opaque and undemocratic policies.” If the Biden administration is the keeper of light and truth, why does it exhibit such a cloistered, closed administration? Perhaps Biden is trying to hold his party together in the face of complex and contrary crosscurrents endlessly battering him.

Because the Biden administration is untruthful on so many issues, one is left to puzzle over what at first appears to be either schizophrenic or just patently wrong decision-making followed by equally inappropriate actions.

The following issues are the foundational issues backed and supported by Biden, despite what recent narratives or statements to the contrary made that infer something different

First, he was 100% in support of Israel. Now, he wants to give Israel the benefit of his experience in how to fight terrorists.

Trillions spent electrifying everything in sight and demagoguing anyone who stands up and says, “Joe! We don’t want electric cars, stoves, or aircraft or having to eat less meat to appease your supporters whose endgame is to control our lives.”

Watching millions of illegal aliens admitted to the heartland, unvetted, unable to take care of themselves, and some here to do us physical harm or undermine our republic.

Inflation is allowed to ravage middle-class people, making our savings worth far less.

Woke-ism and racism have our country divided over endless pseudo issues that hide the critical issues. Instead, we see either inaction or the worst possible outcomes.

It’s the lies that should worry us the most. Bidenomics is eye candy designed to take in the gullible, the uninformed, and those who believe in a better tomorrow based on loving Big Brother. The statistics, like labor growth, are fundamentally deceiving. What’s been consistently growing is the number of people working for the government. The latest figures tell the truth: the government is the leading growth sector in report after report.

You have been lied to, not once, but repeatedly, with millions lapping it up.

But exactly who is lying to us? Some obvious and perennial actors include politicians, special interest groups, big business, foreign interests, and the vast and unaccountable thousands in our mammoth bureaucracies. It’s likely not a conspiracy, but there must be more than the usual suspects. Since Obama, we have been entirely off the rails. We’ve been Slouching Towards Gomorrah for a very long time. Sure, there’s Iran, Russia, China, and others that seek to destabilize and/or take advantage of us in our distress. But even that isn’t the reason we seek.

The honest answer is the worst because it is us, just as Pogo warned when he said, “We have met the enemy, and it is us!” We’ve become believers in the “Prison of Two Ideas.” As Greg Gutfeld of Fox’s “The Fives” describes it, “They set up an issue as having only two positions — you’re either for or against “X” — and then place you on the side that sounds most evil.”

Too many of us retreat into default positions instead of insisting on logic and truth. This leads us to the most malign contrivance of all: forgetting that truth matters. Without truth, we can be controlled in every way. Are we just building another box of our own making? Whoever is pulling the strings, perhaps President Obama, George Soros, or other partisans, they are wearing down our country and the requisite psychic energy necessary to fight back.

As much as I want to see Biden as the face of the destroyers, I can’t. He’s a symptom, not a cause, which makes me wonder about the next person in line if not Biden. Will he be just as bad? Will we just be building another box? Who can we trust with the running of our country, and who will be faithful to our Constitution and the Founders’ intent? In America’s Democrat party today, who is happy? Certainly not the rank and file. Many Democrats have read the tea leaves and want someone else to run.

So what about the next person in line? Will he or she be just as bad? Who can we trust with the running of our country, and who will be faithful to our Constitution and the Founders’ intent?

Right now, as imperfect as former President Trump may be, he’s the only one that we have a prayer of electing and who will stand up to the forces that try to destroy us. Even if he becomes a convicted felon as he will likely be if his haters get their way, I’d vote for Trump again. If he is to be kept in jail and prohibited from governing, I’ll be one of the millions demanding his return.

    God Bless America.

Americans now unwilling to fight for their country?
    By Eric Utter

A disheartening new poll conducted by the Echelon Insights research institute purports to show that 72% of American voters would not be willing to volunteer to fight for their country if the United States faced a major conflict.

The poll of 1,029 likely voters, obtained by Newsweek, was conducted October 23-26, in the days following the heinous Hamas terror attacks against Israel on October 7.

That the overwhelming majority of U.S. adults apparently would not be willing to serve in the United States military if the country faced another major war is concerning to say the least, especially given extreme tensions in the Middle East and surrounding Iran, Russia, China, and North Korea, the modern day Axis of Evil.

By contrast, a Daily Mail poll conducted by J.L. Partners and released early last month found that 64% of 1,000 likely voters were willing to die defending the United States– in the event of an invasion. However, the same poll showed that fully 30% of Americans ages 18-29 would rather surrender than die fighting for their country. Moreover, the poll found that less than half– 46% to be exact– of Democrats would be willing to die fighting for the U.S. Sadly, the latter figure is anything but a shock. Why would you lay down your life for a nation you despise, one peopled with oppressors and—Trump supporters?!

The U.S. military continues to be represented by those from the South and rural areas…and from families who have a history of service. This, too, is unsurprising. These areas– and families– tend to be more conservative and Republican. And patriotic. They are less likely to be entitled and bitter.

No sane person likes war or looks forward to dying in battle, but, as someone once noted: If you have nothing to die for, you have nothing to live for. Sometimes there has to be something greater than one’s self.

So let’s take a look at why we won’t fight.

Here are 21 reasons, some admittedly tied together.

    1) Nearly all of us have become soft and spoiled by our relative wealth and ease.

    2) As such, we tend to be extremely entitled.

    3) Our kids have been indoctrinated, taught to disdain the country by their schools.

    4) Leftist identity politics is tearing us apart. Rather than a “we are all Americans” mentality bringing us together with shared values, ownership, and pride (E pluribus unum) we have been deliberately splintered into countless groups, tribes, and classes (E unum pluribus?).

    5) To that end, the media incessantly focuses on our differences and highlights any act of bigotry. Or makes one up.

    6) White people/colonizers/Founders have been branded as bad, racist, misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic, etc., courtesy of The 1619 Project, CRT, the #MeToo movement, et al., ad nauseum.

    7) There has been a pronounced and continuing loss of religious belief and church attendance, along with a consequent loss of Judeo-Christian values.

    8) There has been a significant loss of belief in free markets and the capitalist economic system, especially among the young…also due to “institutions of higher learning.”

    9) There has been a loss of belief in the benefits of freedom of speech/assembly/religion, the right to bear arms, and other rights the Founders felt were paramount—and inviolate.

    10) There has been a stunning decline in Americans’ knowledge of American history. Schools no longer emphasize the teaching of history, unless it is fake history such as The 1619 Project. Many colleges no longer even offer courses on actual American History, Western Civ, or the classics.

    11) There is certainly little knowledge of the history of the rest of the world as regards slavery, bigotry, racism, misogyny, the devastating results of communism, etc. And no dissemination of any of these topics.

    12) There is an extreme dearth of knowledge of past societies, their forms of government, and how those governments may have aided—or more often decimated—the hopes, dreams, and well-being of the citizens over which they ruled.

    13) There is a near total lack of familiarity of — and appreciation for — the concepts of Natural Law and Natural Rights…the defining difference between the United States and every other nation in the history of the world.

    14) A growing “better dead than red” mentality (that is, an inversion of the old “better red than dead” excuse for joining communism), coupled with a belief that physical violence is always wrong. (Unless it is directed at unborn babies or Jews, of course.)

    15) A pseudo form of hyper-tolerance; tolerance considered a value above all others. (Except when dealing with unborn babies or Jews.)

    16) A lack of familiarity and experience with firearms, vehicles, machinery, etc., and a desire to largely stay apart from them. (Completely opposite of American youth’s attitude from the Revolutionary War through Vietnam.)

    17) Helicopter parenting, which prevents kids from experimenting, “inventing,” and developing a spirit of adventure.

    18) The attacks on “toxic masculinity” and the simultaneous feminization and infantilization of society.

    19) Some too distracted by watching sports, streaming television shows, video games, gambling, social media, and porn to dedicate the time and energy to much of anything else.

    20) Too many consumed with “self-medication” via pot, alcohol, fentanyl, opioids, etc.

    21) Too many overweight and out of shape. (See 19 and 20 above.)

Is it any wonder that an ill-educated, largely ignorant, out of shape people who have been told that the U.S. is evil — and who have lost belief in anything but themselves and their specific peer group — are reluctant to fight for their country? That they are not particularly patriotic? The question is how could it be other than thus?

Hypocrisy Much? Anti-Gun Politicians Spend Big on Personal Security
Ammoland Inc. Posted on November 18, 2023 by Dave Workman

This OP-Ed 1st ran on AmmoLand News Oct 24, 2021, and it is even more relevant today.
Anti-Gun Politicians Spend Big on Personal Security
While advocating for gun control and reduced police forces, many politicians are spending big money on protection details., iStock-1282724673

Back in 2021, Georgia Democrat Sen. Raphael Warnock “spent more than $600,000 on personal security over the past year,” according to a report at Fox Business, while advocating for gun control affecting average citizens.

The same report revealed members of the so-called “Squad”—Democrat Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, and Cori Bush of Missouri—spent “almost $100,000 collectively on security over the past three months.”

A separate Fox News story noted the Bush campaign “spent $64,141.26 on private security between the beginning of July and late September, the Federal Election Commission records show.”

“The cash,” Fox News said, “was dished out to a handful of firms, including Peace Security, RS&T Security Consulting, Aegis Logistics, Whole Armor Executive Protection & Security, and Nathaniel Davis, whose payments are sent to the same address as her campaign headquarters.”

Bush, Fox News noted, has been an “outspoken supporter of defunding police.”

A report in the Washington Free Beacon from that same time period noted then-candidate Warnock “has a history of anti-gun activism dating back to at least 2013. And Fox Business recalled how Warnock “partnered with Mayors Against Illegal Guns, a gun control group founded in 2013 by then-New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who has spent tens of millions of dollars in support of a gun control push.” Billionaire Bloomberg employs his own private security, while financially supporting gun control.
    SCROLL DOWN TO CONTINUE READING

Following the murder spree in the Atlanta area earlier this year, Warnock used the incident to call for “reasonable gun reform in our country” while appearing on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

But like other gun control proponents, Warnock “has not specified what legislation he wants to see passed.” All-too-often, politicians either push for laws already on the books, or suggest restrictions that would not have prevented the crime they’re upset about. So the strategy lately seems to be for anti-gunners to remain vague about the “reforms” they advocate, because in the gun control lexicon, “reform” translates to restrictions or outright bans.
That same year in Minneapolis, the city council cut the police budget following the death of George Floyd; WCCO reported that the city spent $152,000 on private security for “some city council members.”

“Some members reported receiving threats after they voiced their desire to defund and dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department after the death of George Floyd in May,” the story said.

Perhaps not coincidentally, three council members had voted for the fund-cutting measure.

Minnesota State Sen. Paul Gazelka quickly took the council to task, calling it “hypocrisy.” Fox News reported at the time the private security was costing city taxpayers $4,500 a day.

Way back in 1986, a bodyguard for the late Sen. Edward Kennedy was arrested when he showed up at the Senate Office Building with a couple of submachine guns and ammunition. The story made national headlines primarily because Kennedy was a devoted anti-gunner whose brothers, President John Kennedy and Sen. Robert Kennedy were both assassinated.

The reports once again raise questions about elitism and politicians. What makes their lives more valuable than the lives of average citizens they are constantly trying to disarm? Why are they so willing to remove police at the risk of public safety, while they expect taxpayers to pay big bucks for their safety?
    What makes them so special?

Perhaps that question should be posed to the mayors of 25 large cities where, as reported by Forbes, “officials have already cut—or have proposed cutting—funds from police budgets.”

“However,” Forbes revealed in July, “in as many as 20 of those same cities, mayors and other city officials enjoy the personal protection of a dedicated police security detail. In many cities, this security costs taxpayers millions of dollars per year.”
The capper in the Forbes report: “We found that the defunding of police – coupled with taxpayer dollars spent on police security details protecting public officials– only occurred in cities run by Democratic mayors.”

It is almost certain many of these cities are also losing police manpower over the proof of vaccination mandates.

It should be no wonder why so many citizens have bought firearms—millions for the first time in their lives—and why the number of active concealed carry permits and licenses has skyrocketed to more than 21.5 million according to the annual report from the Crime Prevention Research Center.

  12. Oh Deer: New York Ammo Background Checks Causing Headaches for Hunters

Oh Deer: New York Ammo Background Checks Causing Headaches for Hunters
    deer hunting day2 (12)

It’s been two months since New York State Police started running background checks on every ammunition sale in the state, and the problems that plagued the launch of the new mandate have yet to be resolved.

Carly Short, who owns Johnson’s Country Store in Lockport, New York, says business should be booming this time of year with hunters filling the shop’s interior in search of ammo before deer gun season kicks off this weekend, but it’s been pretty quiet this week. Many hunters planned ahead and bought their ammo before the background checks were implemented in mid-September, which was a wise move since Short says customers are still routinely experiencing long delays when making their purchases.

“I tell people there’s good days and bad days,” Short said. “We will have a whole day where everybody gets ‘proceeds’ and everybody is happy… The next day, every single person is a ‘delay’.”

New York State Police run the background checks and sent a statement about wait times that said: “Firearms and ammunition checks are handled in an accurate and timely manner. The NYS NICS unit processes transactions immediately. However, some responses will take longer than others depending on the amount of research required.”

While many of Short’s regular customers had the foresight to purchase their ammo in the days and weeks before the ammo background check law kicked in, other retailers closer to the borders of neighboring states like Pennsylvania say they’re seeing their customer base disappear completely.

“I think that unfortunately because of our proximity to Pennsylvania, it’s having much more of an impact on our local dealerships because people are just not going to go through the hassle. They can go 15-20 minutes down the road into Pennsylvania and buy ammunition without a problem and not be challenged at all,” said Chemung County Sheriff Bill Schrom.

“We’ve definitely seen people go over the border to Pennsylvania. We’re close enough that they can go over there without having to do a background check. Makes no sense whatsoever. Most people that come in to buy ammo, they’ve already bought a gun. They have to go through a background check for the gun. Now the redundancy makes them do background checks for the ammunition as well. A lot of people are getting delayed for no reason. The state system setup doesn’t even give us a time frame. We submit it and then sometimes it’ll go right through. Other times it just says pending. It could be pending for as little as fifteen minutes or we’ve had it go as long as four days now for some people,” said founder of Pugh Self-Protection and Combatives.

Other retailers say they’ve seen instances where a NICS check for a firearm purchase be approved, but the same person’s ammo purchase will be denied. Given the screwy nature of the ammo background check process, it’s no surprise that many gun owners near the state’s southern border are choosing to drive into the Keystone State to stock up.

Unfortunately for retailers and gun owners alike, these issues aren’t likely to go away anytime soon. While there is a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the ammo background check provisions, the Supreme Court denied a request for an emergency injunction in the case last month. The lawsuit itself continues, but the broken background check system will remain in effect while the case makes its way through the courts. We’ll have to wait and see if the checks have a major impact on the number of hunters taking to the field, but it looks like it’s already taking a toll on retailers close to the borders of free states.

Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik said the New York judge overseeing former President Donald Trump’s fraud trial “wrongfully denied” the ex-president’s mistrial request.

Mrs. Stefanik, New York Republican, made the case against Judge Arthur Engoron in addition to her previously filed judicial ethics complaint, which accused the judge of having an “inappropriate bias” against Mr. Trump.

The latest addition to Mrs. Stefanik’s initial complaint accuses the judge of “even more egregious misconduct” for shooting down the ex-president’s request for a mistrial.

“A week ago, I filed an ethics complaint against Manhattan Judge Arthur Engoron for his partisan antics, bias, and railroading of President Trump. After my complaint, a New York appellate court smacked down Judge Engoron for his blatantly unconstitutional gag order,” Mrs. Stefanik said on X. “Today, I’m supplementing my ethics complaint against Judge Engoron with examples of even more of his egregious misconduct after he just wrongly dismissed President Trump’s motion for a mistrial.”

Mr. Trump’s legal team filed the mistrial request this week and accused Judge Engoron of displaying bias by conferring with his law clerk so much that it appeared the duo were “co-judging” the case.

Congratulations to the 57 countries in the Organization of the Islamic Corporation, who came up with the propaganda word “Islamophobia”.

Is it not irrational to be afraid of the devout adherents of an ideology that is actively seeking to OVERTHROW our government and establish a theocracy, yes, a completely irrational fear – a phobia, methinks so.

    by Jim H?ft Nov. 18, 2023 10:43 am148 Comments

Chief Special Warfare Operator Bryce Henson, an active-duty Navy SEAL known for exposing, challenging, and resisting CRT, radical gender ideology, and vaccine/mask tyranny in Southern California, is now under investigation for allegedly supporting “extremist” group “Proud Boys.”

Henson is currently under investigation by the Naval Special Warfare Command (NSWC).

The investigation reportedly concerns allegations of “possibly participating with, or supporting, extremist causes,” Navy spokesman Cmdr. Ben Tisdale confirmed to Military.com.

This investigation was prompted by Henson’s involvement in parental rights protests and his public stance against LGBTQ+ education in schools.

Known under the pseudonym Ben Richards, Henson has been a significant figure at school board and city council meetings, advocating against LGBTQ+ indoctrination, Critical Race Theory, and other woke and radical educational policies.

He founded SoCal Parent Advocates, a group that echoes these sentiments on its website.

Washington, D.C.—“Final estimated headcount at the pro-Israel rally in DC: 290,000 people. Makes this the largest Jewish gathering in history since Mount Sinai.” So chortled Trump’s former ambassador to Israel David Friedman about the March for Israel gathering held Tuesday on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Although Friedman’s numbers appear to be inflated, I saw a massive turnout. It was a political event like nothing I’ve seen in two decades of covering rallies in this town. In the incessant calls to keep bombing Gaza, it was a celebration not just of war but of war crimes. Friedman’s joy over such a showing is not surprising. What turned the stomach was watching the leadership of the Democratic Party—Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries—join in the revelry just hours before Israel Defense Forces captured Gaza’s Al-Shifa hospital, and it came amid another round of killing civilians and targeting journalists trying to show these horrors to the world.

Singham, who was once probed by the FBI in the 1970s for his ‘inimical’ connections in the US, has been the main funder of The People’s Forum since 2017.

  21. In Berlin, Erdogan says Germany can’t criticize Israel because of the Holocaust
Leaders spar with each other over Israel-Hamas war; Scholz says terror group cannot be allowed to continue to attack Israel from Gaza

BERLIN — Visiting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Friday aired deep differences over the war between Israel and Hamas as the Turkish leader insinuated that Berlin was unable to criticize Israel because of the Holocaust.

Erdogan was invited to visit Germany months ago after his reelection, but recent weeks have been marked by discomfort in Berlin over his increasingly strident stance against Israel.

Turkey has long been viewed as an awkward but essential partner in Germany, home to more than 3 million people with Turkish roots. It’s a NATO ally that also is important in efforts to control the flow of refugees and migrants to Europe, an issue on which Scholz faces intense domestic pressure, but there have been frequent tensions in recent years.

  22. Turkey says in talks with UK, Spain to buy 40 Eurofighter Typhoon jets: report

Turkish Defense Minister Ya?ar Güler said on Thursday that Turkey is in talks with the UK and Spain for the purchase of 40 Eurofighter Typhoon jets, despite Germany’s opposition.

“We are working on the procurement,” Güler said at a parliamentary meeting in Ankara. “Now the UK and Spain are trying to convince Germany, although we are not negotiating with Germany. If possible, we are planning to buy 40 Eurofighter Typhoon jets.”

NATO member Turkey has also asked to buy US F-16 fighter jets, but that order has been delayed.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an will probably ask German Chancellor Olaf Scholz at a meeting in Berlin on Friday to lift a block on the sale of the Eurofighter Typhoon jets as he needs to refresh an aging air force, Bloomberg said in a special report on Thursday, citing Turkish officials familiar with the matter.

Germany produces the Eurofighter in a consortium with three other countries.

The chancellor is not expected to consent, Bloomberg cited German officials as saying, as they referred to diplomatic strains between US-led NATO allies and Turkey over the country’s acquisition of air defenses from Russia, its military drive against Kurdish forces in Syria and delay in ratifying Sweden’s membership in NATO.

Erdo?an’s declaration of Israel as a “terrorist state,” while calling Hamas elected rulers and defenders of the Gaza Strip, has added to the list of concerns, Bloomberg cited German officials as saying.
