Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

  2. Charles Nenner on economic cycles and war. 44 min. He is always opaque like most of these guys who use mysterious computer programs predicting the future. However he is a medical doctor, former Goldman Sachs employee and successful investment advisor so is credentialed. He says he left Israel just before or as it was being attacked. He says there is no good place for Jews to be safe, because it’s as easy to run into an idiot on Western streets as it is to be attacked in Israel.

    Gun Control: The End Results

    Albert Einstein said purportedly that “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results,” and this applies squarely to restrictions on firearm ownership.

    United Kingdom, June 1940

    There was a time in the United Kingdom when there were few restrictions on firearm ownership. In 1920, however, the UK required people to get a certificate for permission to own firearms. “Applicants for certificates also had to convince the police that they had a good reason for needing a certificate.” In 1937, “…the Home Secretary ruled that self-defense was no longer a suitable reason for applying for a firearm certificate and directed police to refuse such applications on the grounds that “firearms cannot be regarded as a suitable means of protection and may be a source of danger.” (“Crime and justice since 1750” elaborates on this.)

    Then Germany overran France and drove the British Expeditionary Force back across the English Channel minus most of its heavy weapons. Now Britain faced the possibility of invasion by Nazis who would have done to its population what they had already done to Poland and France. The British Lion accordingly got on its collective knees to beg American firearm owners to “Send a gun to defend a British home.” Luckily for the UK, the United States did not have “common sense gun laws” so we had extra firearms to share with them.

    Did anybody learn from this debacle? Apparently not, as shown in 2022.

    Ukraine, February 2022

    As I wrote here when Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022,

    “Ukrainians are being urged to arm themselves to resist the unprovoked Russian invasion of their country. The immediate question is, ‘with what?’ noting that Ukraine has exactly the kind of gun laws the Democratic Left wants to inflict on the United States. Handguns are illegal unless licensed, and licensing is “may-issue” the same way it is in New York. It is also necessary to have a license to purchase a long gun (as is the case in Illinois with its firearm owner ID card), and authorities can exercise discretion as to who can have a license. There are at most thirteen firearms for every hundred Ukrainians…”

    Ukraine should have seen this coming in light of previous Russian aggression in 2014 as well as Britain’s example, but it’s obvious that those who do not learn from history are condemned to repeat it.

    Israel, October 2023

    When Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, they went from house to house to slaughter unarmed families in their own homes. Hadar and Itay Berdychivsky, who had served in the IDF, apparently did have government-issued permission to own handguns and fifty rounds of ammunition, and they fought back. Both were killed, at a cost of seven terrorists, while defending their children. There are two obvious lessons here.

    As stated by Colonel Jeff Cooper, “A handgun is merely a weapon used to fight your way back to your rifle — which you shouldn’t have left behind.” It is quite likely that two Israelis with Army experience could have handled all the goblins (Cooper’s term for violent criminals) with AR-15s, 30-round magazines, and spare magazines.
    The fact that it took eight or more Hamas terrorists with automatic rifles to kill two Israelis who had only sidearms, and lost seven KIA to do it, underscores the inferiority of the Hamas invaders to the Israelis.
    In contrast, this is what happens when terrorist rabble attack Israelis who have access to long arms and no ammunition limits: “The Hamas was no match for an intrepid 25-year-old Israeli woman — who saved an entire kibbutz from harm by leading a group of residents to kill more than two dozen advancing terrorists, including five she slaughtered herself.”

    The BBC adds, “Israeli gun ownership is low at about 2% of the population. …Usually citizens are allowed to hold a pistol and a limit of 50 bullets” which underscores the gross incompetence of the Israeli legislators who were responsible for the laws in question. Ongoing attacks and infiltration by Hamas made the events of last week easily foreseeable but the government left this law in place. Israel’s “commonsense gun laws” resulted in hundreds of preventable fatalities which brings to mind phrases like “dereliction of duty.” Israeli voters need to hold those responsible for this disaster accountable in the next election.

    Three Strikes and You’re Out

    “Commonsense gun laws” have three strikes against them, two with massive preventable fatalities in Ukraine and Israel; the UK got lucky because Operation Sea Lion never went forward. Anybody who still supports “commonsense gun laws” is a dishonest or incompetent quack like Joe Biden, who depicts knife-wielding assailants as “unarmed” and suggests that defenders shoot to wound. If your life is really in danger, you must shoot to center of mass to stop and, if your life is not in danger, you must not shoot at all. Advocates of magazine size limits are clearly incompetent quacks as proven by events in Israel and also Massad Ayoob’s expert testimony in Fyock v. Sunnyvale.

    Last October US officials blamed Ukrainians for the assassination of Putin’s ally’s daughter, who was killed in an explosion outside of Moscow.

    In August 2022, Darya Dugina, the daughter of Putin ally Alexander Dugin, was killed in an explosion outside of Moscow, as reported at the time by The Gateway Pundit.

    Russian media said Alexander Dugin was the target of an assassination attempt, but his daughter was killed instead.

    Darya Dugina was reportedly heading home from a festival when her Toyota Land Cruiser was blown up.

    As reported earlier – House Republicans claim the US. Special Envoy to Iran Robert Malley, “may have had a compromising tie to the Iranian regime.”

    Robert Malley, a deranged Trump hater, has already been suspended from his position with the Biden regime. The FBI is investigating him and whether or not he mishandled classified information.

    Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) told FOX News on Thursday that Malley’s security violations were so serious that he was suspended without pay, and his security clearances were suspended as well.

    Malley was the Biden regime’s Iran envoy during negotiations on restarting the Iran nuclear deal.

    A man wearing only his underwear shouted “Free Palestine” and “brown lives matter” as police arrested him early Wednesday morning in the Studio City neighborhood of Los Angeles after he tried to break into the home of an Israeli family, according to local reports. The father of the family says he fought the man off while his wife called police and hid with their children. The man, wife and their four children were not hurt. The suspect’s name as not been released by police. He was reportedly found armed with a kitchen knife.

  21. Seattle Soccer Club Ends Season Early Due to Vandalism and Crime From Nearby Homeless Encampment

    A soccer field in Democrat-run Seattle serving underprivileged kids was vandalized last week. An unknown person(s) drove around the field, tearing up major portions of the grass. There is an estimated $100,000 worth of damage to the field.

    The result was that the soccer club had to cancel the remainder of the season and possibly look for another location for these kids.

    What makes it even worse is there is a homeless encampment next to the soccer field which according to the King County Sheriff’s Department has had reports of fires, shootings, and drug overdoses.

    Once again, let’s thank the Democrats for another town that they are in the process of destroying

    TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — U.S. senators from both sides of the aisle on Tuesday (Oct. 24) again proposed the Taiwan Relations Reinforcement Act, which according to the bill’s authors is designed to strengthen relations between the U.S. and Taiwan.

    That day, Republican Senator Marco Rubio announced that amid the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP’s) efforts to undermine Taiwan and its engagement with the world, he along with Democrat Senator Jeff Merkley reintroduced the Taiwan Relations Reinforcement Act to “update and bolster U.S. policy to support Taiwan.” Among the measures included in the bill would be to change the status of the head of the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) and would require the White House to set up an interdepartmental Taiwan policy working group.

    Ihave been relatively quiet for the last two weeks, preferring to take my time to process what just happened. Unfortunately, my job and my personal inclination compel me to follow social media. I have noted a strange shift. Until the Hamas attacks, Palestinian advocates routinely twisted the message of the Holocaust to suit their nefarious genocidal plans to murder Jews. Of course, that was perverse and sick, but it was, nonetheless, prevalent. That has all but disappeared from social media. Instead, Israelis are referring to the attack with comparisons to the Holocaust in a way that was previously avoided and even denigrated. Nothing was ever comparable to the Holocaust.

    Until now. Many Israelis feel that we are reliving pre-Holocaust reality.

    But are these Holocaust comparisons valid? In my opinion, they are absolutely called for and should be amplified in the public forum. This was indeed the worst single day of murdering Jews since the Holocaust officially ended in 1945. But the comparisons go much deeper.

    The images bore unmistakable similarities. I saw one photo of a bomb shelter in which an entire family was murdered. The walls bore the bloody handprints of the family’s last moments, reminding me of the scratches of fingernails in the gas chambers of Auschwitz. The Hamas animals went to great lengths to burn Jews before and after they were executed, just as the Nazis did. In one case, forensics indicated that a fetus had been ripped from its mother, and the bodies burned beyond recognition. Many, including babies, were decapitated.

    This was not just a mass murder. This was an expression of hatred for the Jewish people, an attempt to incinerate any memory of our existence. This was Amalek and, as Jews, we are commanded to eradicate their memory.

    All this is true and while I am deeply saddened, I recognize that I am blessed to be part of the Jewish people at a time when we are in the land of Israel. Our soldiers are the physical descendants of the warrior King David, singing psalms when they are not fighting. I can say with one hundred percent honesty that neither my wife nor I are afraid. While it is true that Israel faces numerous enemies who will resort to the most horrific means to kill all the Jews, this is not new. Throughout history, many have tried and none of these enemies exist today. And I am content, knowing that I am precisely where God wants me to be.

    If Israel is wiped out (God forbid one million times), the world will suffer horribly for its crimes and its loss. Without the Jews, there will be no Torah in the world and it will surely sink back into its pre-Ten Commandment ways.

    When Gen. Eisenhower entered the Ohrdruf concentration camp in April 1945, he was horrified by what he witnessed. Eisenhower invited the media into the camp to document the horrors. He forced those Germans living in the surrounding towns and any soldier not fighting at the front to witness the atrocities for themselves. Despite the magnitude of the Holocaust, Eisenhower envisioned a day when men would deny that it had ever happened.

    We are witnessing this today. In the first days after the October 7 massacre, images of the brutality were provided by the Palestinians themselves who supported Hamas and saw the murder of more than 1,400 Jews as a great success, a necessary aspect of their nationalist aspirations, the beginning of a Palestine “from the river to the sea” where the Jews have been murdered. Independence was not enough. The Palestinians will only accept a land that has been soaked in Jewish blood.

    But after a few days, the narrative shifted and the same people who had been crowing in delight now denied that Jews had died. Despite the undeniable evidence, much of the media went along, complicit in the genocidal movement, confusing evil with good, clamoring for “humanitarian treatment” of Hamas. I read social media and am stunned at the posts that decry Israel’s military response without any mention of the murder of 1,400 Jews. It feels like Holocaust denial.

    The lies were blatant. Israel was guilty of killing 500 Gazans by bombing a hospital despite video and audio evidence that the destruction was caused by a rocket fired by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Despite later images clearly showing that the hospital was still standing, Israel was still blamed by many media and by some Democratic politicians. The media reported on and then denied that Hamas had decapitated babies, despite forensic proof. This allowed the media to give Hamas a pass for the murder of the babies. Israel was blamed for closing border crossings into Gaza that had been destroyed by Hamas in the assault and despite hundreds of tons of humanitarian aid being held up at the Rafah crossing in Egypt.

    Israel is challenged. On one hand, we must remain holy in a region dominated by Ishmael. At the same time, the Western nations hold us to standards they don’t even pretend to uphold when they go to war.

    This is an impossible task. The Western nations will never forgive the Jews for surviving the Holocaust.

    But I am not worried for myself. I am worried for the American Jews. Moments after more than one thousand Jews were massacred in the most horrific way possible before we could even count our dead, mass rallies began. While they claimed to be in support of the “Palestinians”, these rallies began before Israel began its response. These were not people motivated by humanitarian concerns. These were people coming to celebrate, to exult in the murder of Jews that they had been anticipating for years. Their murderous aspirations had finally materialized. It didn’t matter that Gazans would inevitably suffer. Jewish blood was flowing and that was all that mattered.

    This is the result of an unholy Gog and Magog alliance of Esau and Ishmael, of the dark side of liberalism collaborating with Ishmael, the historic enemy of Christianity. While the precepts of liberalism seem to contradict the dictates of Islam, the two have united in their hatred of Israel. This has been in the works for decades. While Islam immigrants were welcomed as refugees, Islam, whose name means ‘submission’, requires that their ‘faith’ rules.

    Using liberalism as a means to take over the education system, American children are now the shock troops for radical Islam.

    In 1975, I was freshly Bar Mitzvah-ed when my synagogue in the suburbs of Philadelphia told all the children that we were going to New York City. The United Nations passed resolution 3379, declaring that Zionism was racism. We proudly wore pins declaring “I am a Zionist”, filling lower Manhattan from the Hudson to the East River, packing it with Jews unafraid to declare that we were Zionists.

    But the times have changed. The reaction of the Jews to the murders in Israel was muted, at best. Friends told me that they were afraid to protest. The Jewish response was overshadowed by huge rallies euphemistically claiming to support the Palestinians. What they really supported was the murder of Jews. These “pro-Palestinian” rallies were a celebration.

    Never again had lasted 80 years and no more.

    The tides have turned and the mask is off. There are no more pretenses. The Palestinians are Arabs, members of a movement with its beginnings in Yasser Arafat’s PLO. They do not

    Police in Lewiston, Maine are asking residents to shelter in place as an active shooter has targeted at least two locations in the city.

    CNN reported around 9 p.m. EDT that at least sixteen people are dead and fifty to sixty wounded:

    At least 16 people are dead in multiple shootings in Lewiston, Maine Wednesday night, according to multiple law enforcement sources.

    At least 50 to 60 people are injured in the incidents, though it’s unclear how many are injured due to gunfire, the sources told CNN.
