On Tuesday, Khaled Mashal, the former leader and founding member of Hamas, called for a global Muslim uprising in support of Palestine on Friday.   1. The Jordanians in 1967 couldn’t sustain a battle . I randomly found this article. How might social conditions have changed to allow them to fight cohesively?

    As is known, Israeli officers and enlisted eat the same food together. The IDF purchases air tickets to allow lone soldiers to visit family while on leave, and even vice versa. I am sure there are other things that they do for cohesion–annual reserve duty with the same unit.

    In ’73, Israel crossed into Egypt and held back from Damascus. This is the time to show strength and will.

    Of course, Israel could jettison iPhones and smut from above, and the “army” would need to take a break to post selfies on Instagram.

  2. Personally,I don’t trust any fundamentalist ideology,whether Islamic,Zionist,or Evangelical.They are all anathema to liberal,democratic values.
    Certainly,aspects of Islam need to be brought into Modernity,kicking and screaming if needed.America and the West needs to do whatever it has to do to force Apartheid Israel to end their onerous occupation and commit to a just settlement based on equity,dignity,and acknowledgement of past crimes and sins against the Palestinian People.Some kind of one State solution should be entertained.

    • Ron, Canada imposed an apartheid state under the plandemic, with roughly 20% of its subjects relegated to second-class status. I agree with you, this formerly developed nation has reverted to the dark ages with not only one, but multiple fundamentalist ideologies nurtured over years of Maoist lines of effort. This brainwashing has created the need to bring Canada (nay the West) back into modernity, even if it means forcing it kicking and screaming to end its onerous occupation of vulnerable minds. A just society does not end science for political gain, including ending debate over Lysenkoist-like lunacy such as anthropogenic climate-change extremism, sexual dysphoria extremism, or medical extremism.

      The savagery of extremist ideology is most acute when people, or nations, want to impose their collectivist (fascist or communist) ideologies on peaceful people who simply want to be left alone to live their lives. The savagery really begins when they try to defend themselves against such tyranny, and are then accused as being the aggressors.

      So I think you get much right in what you write, except that your target is only a few thousand miles off course, your morality is inverted, your head is up your arse.

    • I don’t understand the use of the word ” apartheid” to describe the situation of citizens of Israel. If you mean citizens and non-citizens certainly every country has a separation of rights and responsibilities.

While I may not quite have a dog in this fight,ie Occupied Palestine,I come by my interest honestly,my Mother’s Father being a Palestinian Christian,born in Jerusalem,who emigrated to Cape Breton,Nova Scotia,to work in the coal mines.He was killed in those same coal mines,RIP. When he emigrated to Canada,Jerusalem was under the rule of the Ottoman Turks,decades before Zionist Israel was recreated by European and American Jews,post-holocaust,at the expense of the Palestinian People,a People that includes Catholics,other Christians,and non-Jews.
    Personally,I know first hand Occupation and Colonization,having served in an all White Unit in Rhodesia,and worked for a tad in Apartheid South Africa.
    I stand by my comments.
