Biden Admin to Disregard Environmental, Historical Preservation, and Native American Gravesite Protection Statutes to Build Border Wall Segment
by Brian Lupo Oct. 5, 2023 8:45 am237 Comments
Back in July 2022, Peter Doocy pressed Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on a series of questions about the US border wall started during the Trump Administration. “Why is the Biden Administration building a border wall in Arizona?” Doocy asked. Jean-Pierre responded that they were not building the wall but rather “cleaning up the mess the prior administration left behind in their failed attempt to build a wall.” She then talks about the $8 billion they “saved” and “gave back” to military families, for schools, and for bases.
Perhaps the administration should have saved that $8 billion to give to New York to cover the next 2 years of their “humanitarian crisis” ($12B over 3 years). And that’s just one city. Chicago residents are outraged over the $300+ million they’ve spent thus far on the “humanitarian crisis”. Especially when the funds are being used to pay staffers up to $292 per hour. Millions of illegal immigrants have poured into our country under his watch.
Doocy continued, “…Biden said when he was a candidate, there would not be another foot of wall constructed in my administration. So what changed?” The remainder of the incredibly hypocritical answer from Jean-Pierre can be viewed here:
A DHS publication to the Federal Registry shows that utilizing Section 102 of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 (IIRIRA), DHS has determined the necessity for the construction of “physical barriers and roads (including the removal of obstacles to detection of illegal entrants) in the vicinity of the United States border to deter illegal crossings in areas of ‘high illegal entry’ into the United States.”
Elon: 1 Simple Trick To Cut Your Electrical By 90%

Dr Phil’ Leaving Show After CBS Find This Out
The document, signed by DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, stated that the “Rio Grande Valley Sector is an area of ‘high illegal entry’. As of early August 2023, Border Patrol had encountered 245,000 such entrants attempting to enter the U.S…” The “physical barriers” are estimated to cover approximately 20 miles in the Rio Grande Valley Sector.
As a result, Mayorkas said DHS will be installing “physical barriers” immediately and will be funded through a 2019 appropriation for “construction border barriers in the Rio Grande Valley”.
Mayorkas admits, “There is presently an acute and immediate need to construct physical barriers and roads in the vicinity of the border of the United States in order to prevent unlawful entries into the United States in the project areas…” and in order to complete the project, the administration is waiving the following statutes for the entirety of the project:
National Environmental Policy Act
Endangered Species Act
Federal Water Pollution Control Act
National Historic Preservation Act
Migratory Bird Treaty Act
Migratory Bird Conservation Act
Archeological Resources Protection Act
Paleontological Resources Preservation Act
Noise Control Act
Solid Waste Disposal Act
Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act
Archaeological and Historic Preservation Act
Antiquities Act
Historic Sites, Buildings, and Antiquities Act
Farmland Protection Policy
National Fish and Wildlife Act of 1956
Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act
National Trails System Act
Administrative Procedure Act
Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act
American Indian Religious Freedom Act
Federal Land Policy and Management Act
The wall seems to be fairly important to permit the polluting of our environment, possible destruction of our historic sites and desecration of Native American Graves, and polluting of our waterways.
The wall will cover the following areas:
•Starting approximately one mile south of the Falcon Dam and extending southeast
for approximately two miles.
• Starting at the southeast boundary of the Arroyo Morteros Tract of the Lower Rio
Grande Valley National Wildlife Refuge and extending southeast for
approximately one mile.
• Starting at the northernmost boundary of the Las Ruinas Tract of the Lower Rio

one mile.
• Starting at the eastern boundary of the Arroyo Ramirez Tract of the Lower Rio

one-half mile.

• Starting one-half mile south of the intersection of Perez Road and U.S. Highway

• Starting approximately three-quarters of a mile southeast of the intersection of
North Redwoods Street and U.S. Highway 83 and extending southeast to the

National Wildlife Refuge.
• Starting approximately one-tenth (0.1) of a mile south of the intersection of

• Starting approximately one mile south of the intersection of Los Olmitos Road

Illegal Aliens Wreak Havoc At Southern Border Near El Paso, Rush Border Chanting “Si Se Puede!” (VIDEO)
by David Greyson Oct. 4, 2023 5:00 pm416 Comments
A Nation in crisis.
The Biden Regime has literally become a criminal syndicate allowing the U.S. to be invaded by illegal aliens.
A video posted to social media by Univision showed illegals in Juarez, Mexico on Tuesday night storming the area bordering El Paso, Texas. The illegals can be heard chanting, “Si se puede!” Although the illegals are on the Mexican side of the border, it is clear from their disposition that they want to cross into the U.S. They know they will be released to go wherever they want.

Within less than two weeks, we’ve seen the murder of three prominent leftists who valued antiracism over law and order. First, the young tech founder in Baltimore,
Then, the journalist in Philadelphia,
And now, Ryan Thoresen Carson in Brooklyn.
Safety First
Before we get to the political commentary, a note about personal safety. For those who haven’t watched the surveillance footage above (or understandably prefer not to), there are a few things Ryan Carson could have done that would have increased the chances he’d still be alive today.
For starters, don’t be on a street named after Malcom X or Martin Luther King at 4am.
Don’t walk toward trouble. Before the assailant attacks Carson, you can see him attacking another individual or kicking a car, and Carson and his girlfriend start walking toward him. At this point, Carson may have survived by simply by crossing the street.
Avoid touching trouble. Unless you are forced to defend yourself, do not touch an obviously violent, unstable man. That just escalates the situation. Carson appears to put his hand on his assailant’s chest and tell him to “chill” and that does not help the situation. If at this point Carson thought violence was inevitable, he would have been better off taking his jacket off and wrapping it around his forearm as improvised knife shield. But he would of course have been better off not being there or at least crossing the street before engaging with the thug.
The Bankruptcy Of Their Ideology
Friends of Ryan Carson suggested that Carson would have sympathized with his murderer.
And other leftists have pushed back (ludicrously) against accusations that their own soft-on-crime policies helped lead to his death. Nathan Robinson here, for example, says leftists’ urban crime policy is giving everyone “a good school, good housing”, etc.
There are two problems with that boil-the-ocean approach. The first is that it’s impossible to give someone like Ryan Carson’s murderer a “good school” or “good housing”, because no school or housing development can be considered good if it includes violent criminals. The second problem is that we know what prevents violent crime and it’s not that: it’s locking up violent criminals. El Salvador didn’t solve its murder problem by giving every murderer a “supportive, nurturing community”, but by packing them into prisons.
There’s Nothing New About This
We’ve been here before. Leftists have always been wrong about crime, and when Republicans were smarter, they beat them in elections by hammering them on the issue, as with the late Lee Atwater’s classic Willie Horton ad.
If Republicans were smart, they would do the same today.

Our Establishment’s Alternate Realities
After mid-terms, Biden resumed his attack on once bad, then good, and now bad again fossil fuels—at least until ’24
By Victor Davis Hanson
October 5, 2023
One common denominator that explains why previously successful societies implode is their descent into fantasies. A collective denial prevents even discussion of existential threats and their solutions.
Something like that is happening in the United States. Eight million illegal immigrants have entered the United States by the deliberate erasure of the southern border.
Apparently, the Biden administration sees some unstated advantage in destroying U.S. immigration law and welcoming in would-be new constituents.
Yet, the more the millions arrive, the more Joe Biden and his Homeland Security director Alejandro Mayorkas flat out lie that “the border is secure.”
Dr Phil’ Leaving Show After CBS Find This Out
Elon: This Simple Trick Will Cut Your Electrical By 90%
They both live in a world of make-believe, passed off to the American people as reality.
And the more the Americans are lied to that the border is secure, the more they poll—currently 77 percent—that it is not.
Biden apparently has reversed course and begun using the former pejorative “Bidenomics” as a term of pride.
He now praises this three-year effort to borrow $6-7 trillion, and spike interest rates threefold to 7% on home mortgages—even as prices on essentials like food and fuel have spiked 25-30% since he entered office.
The more that Biden brags about what he did to the economy, the more people poll—over 60%—dissatisfaction with his alternate reality of “Bidenomics.”
Do we remember the humiliation in August 2021 in Afghanistan?
The more Gen. Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, and Joe Biden assured that the American military presence was stable, the more swiftly it crumbled and descended into the worst mass flight of an American army since Vietnam.
Consider natural gas and oil. The Biden administration waged war on both by canceling pipelines, drilling on federal lands, and entire oil fields.
Report Ad
When the price soared and the 2022 midterms neared, Biden suddenly begged formerly shunned illiberal regimes like Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Venezuela to pump all the hated oil they could to lower the price.
A desperate Biden drained much of the strategic petroleum reserve—he has yet to refill it—simply to lower the price of gasoline and thus win voters back to the Democratic Party.
When the midterms passed, Biden resumed his attack on once bad, then good, and now bad again fossil fuels—at least until the 2024 election.
Stranger still is the denial of the current crime wave in our major cities. Predators and thugs have turned once iconic downtowns into either war zones or ghost towns or both.
Smash-and-grab swarming of stores and matter-of-fact shoplifting are destroying commerce in our major cities.
Unsustainable stores either leave or shut down. Communities who vote for politicians who defund the police blame the stores for leaving—but not the criminals whose brazen thefts made it impossible to do business in the inner city.
Now modern-day pirates with impunity storm, sink, and rob boats of all kinds in the Oakland marina and estuary.
Leftwing journalists and activists, and even Democratic politicians, who all supported defunding the police, now cannot escape the resulting street violence and unleashed murderous predations.
Everyone knows the culprit is the post-George Floyd effort—with Biden administration complicity—to defund the police, end cash bail, institutionalize catch-and-release of criminals, and show more sympathy toward victimizers than victims.
Yet neither state nor local officials nor Joe Biden himself even admits to a crime wave. The more the public is attacked and avoids major downtowns, the more it polls furor over the crime wave.
The more our officials, in gaslighting style, claim such alarm is all in our collective heads, the more they themselves are attacked by the very criminals their policies empowered.
Sometimes the fantasies extend to the trivial. Sen. John Fetterman (D-Penn) for months has dressed like an utter slob while on the Senate floor. As a gesture of approval, Democrats junked the dress code so he could wear his sloppy cut-offs and hoodie.
Americans were to assume his slovenly costume was normal apparel—and they were hypercritical for thinking otherwise.
Recently Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) pulled a Senate fire alarm to disrupt and delay a vote on continuing the funding of the government. But he got caught on a Capitol surveillance video committing the crime.
Bowman whined that he got confused. He preposterously claimed by pulling the alarm he thought he was opening a door to go vote.
All of that was pure fantasy. The alarm was clearly marked. A sign in front of the door warned not to enter. And the door itself was placarded with cautions that any attempt to open it would set off emergency alarms.
No matter. Bowman assumed by calling his critics “Nazis” and using the race card, he could invent a virtual reality.
Despite our epidemic of fantasy, there remains reality.
And we will soon rediscover it all too soon.

Class Action Lawsuit Alleging Discrimination Launches Against Feds on Behalf of Unvaccinated Canadians
A lawsuit has been filed on behalf of unvaccinated Canadians who were negatively affected by mandatory COVD policies, lockdowns, or vaccine mandates.
Alberta Constitutional Lawyer, Leighton Grey, of the law firm Grey, Wowk Spencer LLP, said, the lawsuit was filed on September 22, with more than 700 Canadians already signed up for representation.
In a court document provided to Epoch Times on October 4 the proposed class-action proceedings names His Majesty the King in Right of Canada and the Attorney General of Canada as defendants and alleges the federal government discriminated against Canadians “on the grounds of genetic characteristics and religion” specifically for their Covid-19 vaccination status.
There are aspects of the lawsuit:
The employment subclass for those who were unvaccinated for Covid-19 and lost their jobs due to government mandates, or who were terminated, denied promotions, or experienced decreased working hours due to their medical status; the travel sub-class, for those that could not travel for work or to see loved ones because they were unvaccinated for COVID; and the dual class for those who fall into both categories.
More applicants are being accepted, and there is ongoing fundraising for donations to help the plaintiffs of the case. The case proposes the action be tried in Federal Court in Edmonton. only Canadians who received no Covid shots and suffered negative consequences as a result are eligible to be part of the class action.
The lawsuit further alleges the federal government isolated the Genetic Non-Discrimination Act by requiring members of the lawsuit to undergo PCR testing that sampled RNA genetic material in attempt to detect Covid-19 virus.
On August 5, 2021, Prime Minister Justine Trudeau announced the clerk of the Privy Council was instructed to make Covid-19 shots mandatory for all Federal and Crown employees and federal regulated industries if they wanted to keep their jobs. The same day, Dr. Tam announced that mandatory vaccination in Canada was “necessary “ for public health and on August 12, announced that vaccines would be mandatory alleges the lawsuit.
The Prime Minister mad pejorative and discriminatory statements toward Canadians who refused COVID-19 vaccines, calling the, racists, misogynists and asking “if Canadians should tolerate these people referring to the unvaccinated”., states the lawsuit.
It documents the mandatory vaccination that was implemented in Canada—-for example, in the transportation sector, among all federal employees, employees of federal Crown corporations and employees of federal regulated industries. Eventually, mandatory vaccine requirements were put in place for all airline carriers, as well as travelers on commercial flights, trains and ships.
The federal attorney general and justice department did not return requests for comment by press time.
Nine Migrants Arrested for Piracy After Rescue by Offshore Vessel
https://maritime-executive.com/article/nine-migrants-arrested-for-piracy-after-rescue-by-vroon-offshore-vessel
Spanish authorities have arrested nine migrants on allegations of piracy for threatening the crew of the ship that rescued them off the coast of Morocco.
On Monday night, the OSV Vos Pace encountered two migrant boats at a position about 50 nautical miles northeast of Lanzarote, the easternmost isle of the Canary Islands. The first boat was found at about 2330 hours, and had about 44 people aboard. The second was located shortly after, and had another 35 occupants. The majority were men from North African nations, along with a dozen women and children.
All 79 were taken aboard. Since the encounter occured in waters within the Moroccan area of responsibility for rescue at sea, Vos Pace headed for the port of Tan Tan, Morocco to deliver the survivors.
While under way for Tan Tan, nine migrants “mutinied” aboard the OSV and ordered the crew to head for Spanish territory in the Canary Islands, where they would have the opportunity to claim asylum on EU soil. The crew changed course for Fuerteventura, and notified Spanish authorities in advance that some of the migrants had become “very aggressive” and drew knives when they learned that they were headed back to Morocco, according to EFE.
Spanish police in riot gear met the ship at the pier and arrested the nine suspects. The men face charges of piracy, which would carry a minimum sentence of ten years in prison if they are convicted.
The remaining 70 migrants rescued by Vos Pace will be questioned and processed.

Trump’s Lawyers Come Out Swinging, Accuse Jack Smith of Withholding Discovery, Seek to Delay Classified Docs Trial Until After Election
by Cristina Laila Oct. 5, 2023 12:40 pm0 Comments
President Trump’s lawyers on Wednesday evening filed a motion seeking to delay Jack Smith’s May classified documents trial until after the 2024 election.
Trump attorneys Chris Kise and Todd Blanche accused Jack Smith’s prosecutors of using dilatory tactics to slow-roll the discovery process and taking too long to turn over evidence. Blanche and Kise said the May trial date makes the schedule “unworkable,” according to the motion reviewed by The Gateway Pundit.
“On July 18, 2023, the Special Counsel’s Office represented to the Court that “all” discovery would be available on “day one.”” Trump’s lawyers wrote.
Blanche and Kise also said Jack Smith’s Florida classified docs trial set for May 20 and his separate March 4 DC trial regarding Trump’s so-called effort to stop the transfer of power set for March 4 require “Trump and his lawyers to be in two places at once.”

DC’s Revolving Door Is Swinging Briskly for the Eco-Green Eyeshade People

Washington’s revolving door is getting a fresh green paint job: Federal architects of a controversial new rule requiring businesses to measure their carbon footprints throughout their supply chains have joined a start-up company poised to reap millions by performing those calculations.
At least three ranking Securities and Exchange Commission officials have joined Persefoni, a company formed in 2020 for the purpose of measuring such footprints of large business enterprises.
Documents show that the SEC relied on input from the for-profit company to draft the proposed rule. Some critics argue that the estimates from Persefoni low-balled the price tags unrealistically for such accounting to make them more politically palatable.

Kevin McCarthy and the Political Culture
By Ben Voth
Political pundits are stunned at the recent ouster of Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy. The removal is the latest public backlash against political establishment politics in the United States implemented by a corrupt intellectual culture. The catalyst to McCarthy’s defeat was certainly the vote for a continuing resolution on the Federal government’s budget activities that remain far beyond constitutional order and the primary driver for the inflationary pains the general public has felt since rapidly escalating federal government spending in spring of 2020.
America’s intellectual culture is dangerously malicious and reactionary — spinning false narratives in order to control an American public that is increasingly restless with the obvious political cruelty inflicted upon them by the ruling classes of Republicans and Democrats. There are at least two narratives that Republican and Democrat elite spin in a way that inflicts massive harm upon the public: 1) national debt and 2) illegal immigration.
In the pathological storytelling of our intellectual culture, the national debt is simply a timeless unfortunate burden of being a global superpower and fulfilling obvious moral duties such as child care, feeding the hungry, and medical care. In reality, the United States ran a surplus as recently as 1999 and 2000. In 2007, the deficit was a mere $160 billion compared to $2 trillion today. Moreover, taxpayers will provide roughly five trillion dollars in annual revenue to meet the wide array of national needs. This is 25% larger than the entire expense structure of the Chinese Communist government serving more than one billion people. Especially important in the reality check is the massive growth in revenue the USFG has experienced in the past 30 years. The federal government is definitely overspending and the debt and deficit are caused by reckless spending and not by economic cycles, tax cuts, COVID, unexpected emergencies, or a myriad of excuses. The American public provides generous revenue increases almost every year. If the federal government simply limited its growth — not even taking a cut — to less than the increases provided by taxpayers, the U.S. would move quickly toward surpluses. Most importantly, this process would lower interest rates and the most aggressive tax on our citizens in poverty — inflation. The USFG is the by far the nation’s largest employer and it refuses to take pay cuts or face layoffs in the way every single other private industry among the private public has suffered since the 1980s. The corruption of D.C.’s faux budget debate was exemplified by a Democratic representative pulling a fire alarm and referring to Republicans as “Nazis” in order to delay the vote.
In the pathological storytelling of our intellectual culture, illegal immigration is simply a timeless story of oppressed innocent people seeking refuge in the worst country in the world: America. Mysteriously, more than five million people have chosen to enter the most racist, sexist, and discriminatory society ever known in human history. More profoundly, this immigration is only a benign trek for refuge. There is no vast army of international corruption in the form of cartels delivering human beings at an average cost of $15,000 per person into the United States. There is no vast regimen of violence against children that includes sex trafficking. There is no concert of villainy stretching from the labs of China to narco drug lords in Mexico delivering deadly fentanyl in the open border at Texas and Mexico. The United States federal government has an immigration policy at the Texas border that acts to deliberately destroy and thwart all domestic efforts to constrain the human slave trade at the border. Federal officials are cutting fences and welding gates open in order to prevent any limits on the human slave trade at the Texas Mexico border. Of course the American public — including growing numbers of sanctuary city residents — recognize that the United States federal government that covets the borders of Ukraine and Russia, despises the existence of a border between Mexico and Texas.
These two issues and many more, enrage the public and make them want to lash out at their political leadership today. The idea that Kevin McCarthy suffered an impossible indignity on October 3 is a testament to how out of touch our intellectual culture is with how the public is regularly victimized by its own federal government. An intellectually honest elite would admit these things as a productive point of political dialogue. Unfortunately, the loss of Kevin McCarthy is only the beginning of a public looking to take revenge against its reactionary intellectual culture that shows them such contempt.

At least 100 killed in drone attack on Syrian military academy – monitor
https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/drone-attack-homs-military-college-causes-large-number-casualties-syrian-state-2023-10-05/
At least 100 people were killed on Thursday in an attack on a military academy in Syria, a war monitor and an official said, with weaponised drones bombing the site minutes after Syria’s defence minister left a graduation ceremony there.
It was one of the bloodiest attacks ever against a Syrian army installation, and unprecedented in its use of weaponised drones in a country which has faced 12 years of civil war.
Civilians and military personnel were killed in the attack on the military academy in the central province of Homs, Syria’s defence ministry said, adding “terrorist” groups had used drones.
The statement did not specify an organisation and no group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
Syria’s defence and foreign ministries vowed to respond “with full force”. Syrian government forces carried out heavy bombing attacks on the opposition-held zone of Idlib throughout the day.
Syria’s defence minister attended the graduation ceremony but left minutes before the attack, according to a Syrian security source and a security source in the regional alliance backing the Damascus government against opposition groups.
“After the ceremony, people went down to the courtyard and the explosives hit. We don’t know where it came from, and corpses littered the ground,” said a Syrian man who had helped set up decorations at the academy for the occasion.
Footage shared with Reuters through the messaging app WhatsApp showed people – some in fatigues and others in civilian clothes – lying in pools of blood in a large courtyard.
Some of the bodies were smouldering and others were still on fire. Amid the screaming, someone could be heard shouting “put him out!” A spray of gunfire could be heard in the background. Reuters could not authenticate the footage.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said more than 100 people were killed and 125 injured. An official in the alliance backing Syria’s government said the toll was around 100.
Health Minister Hassan Al-Ghobash gave a lower death count, telling state TV 80 people had been killed, including six women and six children, but said about 240 people had been injured.
Syria’s conflict began with protests against President Bashar al-Assad in 2011 but spiralled into an all-out war that has left hundreds of thousands dead and millions displaced.
The Syrian army has been gutted by the fighting, and relied heavily on military support from Russia and Iran as well as Tehran-backed fighters from Lebanon, Iraq and other countries.
Assad regained most of the country, but a swathe in the north bordering Turkey is still held by armed opposition groups, including hardline jihadist fighters.

Outrageous! German Family Who Sought Asylum After Being Fined by the German Government for Homeschooling Their Children Now Faces U.S. Deportation After 15 Years
By Jim H?ft Oct. 5, 2023 5:20 pm162 Comments
A German family who have lived in Tennessee for 15 years with government permission to homeschool their children may be deported this month after fighting unsuccessfully for asylum.
While the southern border remains open, allowing illegal immigrants with criminal histories to enter the country, law-abiding citizens like the Romeike family from Germany, who sought asylum for religious and educational freedom, are facing deportation.
The Romeike family moved to the United States in 2008, seeking the freedom to homeschool their children in line with their evangelical Christian faith, The Tennessean reported.
In Germany, homeschooling for religious reasons is not permitted, and the family faced fines and compulsory public schooling for their children.

Biden Regime’s SEC Sues Elon Musk in Their Baseless “Investigation” Over His Perfectly Lawful Purchase of X/Twitter – Musk Issues Response (VIDEO)
By Cullen Linebarger Oct. 5, 2023 6:40 pm81 Comments
Is the Biden regime looking for a way to somehow reverse Elon Musk’s perfectly lawful purchase of X (formerly Twitter)? Today’s developing story reads as a fit of revenge.
Jim Hoft previously reported, the SEC has been baselessly investigating Musk’s purchase of X/Twitter since 2022. Now they are suing him and Musk is not happy.
CNBC reported that the Regime’s SEC has sued Musk because they subpoenaed him in September to show up in a San Francisco court and testify regarding his perfectly lawful purchase of X/Twitter. He did not show up likely assuming it was a trap.
This new lawsuit was filed in the same court. As Jim Hoft previously reported, the SEC has been investigating Musk’s purchase of X/Twitter since 2022.

Wagner, Cocaine and Hand Grenades: Vladimir Putin Suggests Plane Crash That Killed Prigozhin Was Caused by Drugged Fighters Detonating Device Inside the Aircraft
by Paul Serran Oct. 5, 2023 8:20 pm48 Comments
The last months in the life of Wagner PMC chief Yevgeny Prigozhin were the stuff of modern legend, filled with glory, infamy and tragedy.
His trajectory, from victory in Bakhmut (now called Artemovsk), the biggest battle since WWII, to the ‘treasonous insurrection’ against the Russian government and Military, culminated in a spectacular – if horrifying – fashion.
Prigozhin died when his business jet crashed on 23 August, a mere two months after the staged aborted mutiny against Russian military commanders saw his Wagner mercenary troops take control of Rostov and advance towards Moscow.
The crash of his fiery plane was caught on video, and broadcast all around the planet.
Now, for the first time, Russian President Vladimir Putin commented on the cause of the crashm claiming that the plane crash that killed Yevgeny Prigozhin and two top advisers may have been caused by hand grenades detonating inside the aircraft, and further speculated that the Wagner boss may have been on drugs.
The Guardian reported:
“’Fragments of hand grenades were found in the bodies of those killed in the crash’, Putin told a meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club think-tank in the Black Sea resort of Sochi.
‘There was no external impact on the plane – this is already an established fact’, Putin said, contradicting reports by western intelligence services that said a bomb was the likely reason behind the crash.”
WATCH:
Putin implied that alcohol and drugs could have played a role in the crash.
“’Unfortunately, no examination was carried out to determine the presence of alcohol or drugs in the blood of the victims’, Putin said.
‘Although we know … that the FSB discovered not only 10bn roubles in cash, but also 5kg of cocaine’, he said, referring to the stacks of cash and drugs that the security services allegedly discovered during a search of Prigozhin’s mansion after his failed rebellion.”
Putin said ‘there was no external influence’ on the Embraer Legacy 600 jet, which burned and crashed while flying between Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Politico reported:
“The body of 62-year-old Prigozhin was buried at a private ceremony less than a week after he and his lieutenants died in the plane crash. The incident sparked rampant speculation of foul play from the Kremlin, coming just two months to the day after Prigozhin launched an insurrection against Russia’s top brass and had his fighters march on Moscow.
Putin had initially described the putsch as “treason” but, speaking days after his former ally’s death, softened his tone. “He was a man with a complex fate. [Sometimes] he made mistakes; and [sometimes] he got the results he wanted — for himself and in response to my requests, for a common cause,” the Russian president said.”
Putin further stated that there were ‘no private military companies in Russia’, because there was no law to regulate them.
New York Times reported:
“Mr. Putin began by saying it was the Russian Defense Ministry that had brought the extralegal mercenary force into the war effort in the first place, in a manner that he described as ‘clumsy’.
‘It was caused by the requirements of the current situation on the battlefield, to put it bluntly’, Mr. Putin said. ‘And when the Defense Ministry proposed that units from this company participate in military action, I didn’t refuse’.”
