Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

    The indictment, brought by the U.S Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, accuses Menendez and his wife of accepting “hundreds of thousands of dollars of bribes” from three New Jersey businessmen – Wael Hana, Jose Uribe, and Fred Daibes – “in exchange for his influence and power as a Senator to seek to protect and enrich” them and “benefit the Arab Republic of Egypt.”

  7. (AP) — Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced several support measures for Ukraine, including military, economic and humanitarian assistance, while also pledging an additional show of diplomatic backing through steps intended to punish Russia over the war.

    “We’re continuing to impose costs on Russia and ensuring that those responsible for this illegal, unjustifiable invasion do not benefit from it,” Trudeau said Friday during a joint news conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Ottawa, the Canadian capital.

    Zelenskyy also addressed Canada’s Parliament on Friday. He flew into Ottawa late Thursday after meetings with U.S. President Joe Biden and lawmakers in Washington. He spoke at the U.N. General Assembly on Wednesday.

Interim Prime Minister of Pakistan Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, representing his country amid an ongoing political crisis following the ouster of popular Prime Minister Imran Khan, used his address to the United Nations General Assembly on Friday to demand that nations outlaw “Islamophobia” and that the international community enforce blasphemy laws.

    Pakistan is home to one of the most draconian penal codes against blasphemy in the world. A defendant found guilty of desecrating the Quran can be sentenced to life in prison; those accused of insulting Muhammad may face the death penalty. Equivalent punishments for alleged blasphemy against other religions do not exist.

    Khan, a radical Islamist with fervent support among Pakistani fundamentalists, launched a campaign in 2018 to pressure other countries to adopt similar speech codes as part of a war against alleged “Islamophobia” — intended, in his own words, to “prevent people [from] using freedom of speech as a cover for hurting the religious sentiments of Muslims around the world,” he added, according to Hamari Web News.

    This reminds me of when, more than a decade and a half ago, my son was was knocked out at a playground during school lunchtime and the assaulters kept well, assaulting him until some of his friends showed up, which is when they ran off.

    The school called me that day, said the police recorded it as a ‘racially motivated hate crime’ (my son is blond and blue-eyed), and he did not see his attackers because they snuck up on him from behind.

    Because the attackers were minors, their identity had to remain secret and my son had to attend the school with his attackers without ever knowing which ones of his classmates had done this to him.

      Children, and the parents who try to protect them and advocate for them, are under attack in America’s schools.

      Openly pornographic materials are being offered to children as young as elementary school.

      Organizations boast about how they sneak sick sexual and LGBTQ+ content into children’s classrooms without parental knowledge.

      The Los Angeles Unified School District supports a gay club for kindergarten students through age 11 and students throughout the county have been exposed to Drag Queen Story Hours.

      Far-left Democrat Rep. Rashida Tlaib even claimed that concerned parents speaking out at school board meetings about Critical Race Theory (CRT) is “white supremacy.”

      FBI whistleblowers revealed that the bureau targeted parents who protested CRT and Covid rules despite Attorney General Merrick Garland’s claims it never happened.

      The National School Board Association (NSBA) coordinated with the Biden White House and AG Merrick Garland to classify parents as “domestic terrorists” in a letter to the FBI.

      Viola Garcia, president of the NSBA, was rewarded by Cardona with an appointment to the National Assessment Governing Board (NAGB) which has oversight over the National Assessment of Educational Progress.

      In an interview with the Associated Press on Friday, Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona said he does not have “respect” for people who are “misbehaving in public and acting like they know what’s right for kids.”

      While schools increasingly try to indoctrinate our children, Cardona’s remarks underscore the lack of respect for parents that permeates throughout every level of the Biden Administration.

      “I [sic] been in education, you know, about 25 years. Not including the time I was in higher ed as a student. I’ve never seen it where it is now,” Cardona replied.

      The education secretary explained further that while he doesn’t have a problem with differences of opinion, and it was possible to discuss things in the past, he doesn’t “respect” people who he claims behave badly in public.

      “There was civility. We could disagree. We could have healthy conversations around what’s best for kids,” he said. “I respect differences of opinion. I don’t have too much respect for people that are misbehaving in public and then acting like they know what’s right for kids.”

      Parents Defending Education President Nicole Neily criticized the education secretary on X saying he “openly dismissed thousands of American parents who have been speaking out at school board meetings.”

    Note: sad, but at this point, if the ‘info’ came from US-linked intelligence, we can presume that it is a political manipulation with little basis in fact. The most interesting bit is the timing: the day after it appears that an actual (not fake) Canadian citizen had been assassinated by CCP agents, all info on that is scrubbed from the media and the ‘India did a thing a few months’ ago becomes the dominant news.

  12. Fulton County DA Investigator Accidentally Shoots Herself at Same Courthouse Where Trump Was Arraigned

    A Fulton County District Attorney Investigator shot herself accidentally on Friday outside of the Fulton County Courthouse.

    The Fulton County Sherriff’s Office in a press release reported the investigator was not critically wounded from the accident but did need to seek medical attention.

    The shooting occurred at the same courthouse where President Trump and his co-defendants were arraigned.

    As of right now, the investigator who shot herself has yet to be identified, and it’s unclear if the District Attorney who shot herself was one of the investigators involved in DA Fani Willis’ case against Trump.

  13. South Africa: Using Only Pistols, Local Militia Stops 15 Armed Robbers with AK-47s Who Blew Up Armored Truck

    4 armed robbers were killed by local volunteers after blowing up an armored car and killing the driver

    On Thursday, 9/21, local farmer militiamen in South Africa stopped a gang of 15 armed robbers armed with AK-47s who had just robbed an armored car, killing the driver. The local volunteers apprehended the fugitives after a high-speed chase, including a dangerous Mozambican criminal wanted for murder of a police officer.

    The robbery took place in Hoedspruit (Hat Springs) outside Polokwane in Limpopo Province, which were named Pietersburg and North Transvaal by the original settlers before the campaign to ethnically cleanse the Afrikaner language and culture from South Africa.

    Heavily armed attacks on armored cars are so common in South Africa they are known as Cash-in-Transit heists (CIT).

    “15 robbers armed with automatic rifles carried out a CIT heist in Hoedspruit, killing the Fidelity driver,“ reports YouTuber Willem Petzer.

    According to police spokesman Colonel Matimba Maluleke, the suspects shot at the escort vehicle before disarming the guards (a driver and crew) of their official rifle and pistol. “Unfortunately the two guards were shot at and sustained injuries that resulted in the death of the driver. The suspects then pursued the armoured vehicle while shooting at it until it stopped. The driver of the armoured vehicle and his crew were allegedly ordered to disembark the vehicle, disarmed of two firearms and chased into the nearby bushes. The suspects used explosives to blast the vehicle and made off with an undisclosed amount of money,” Maluleke said.

    “A community crime watch group, Hoedspruit Farmwatch, was alerted to the incident and went in pursuit of the robbers, putting obstacles on the road to prevent their escape. A shootout ensued,” Petzer writes.

    “The Hoedspruit Farmwatch volunteers blocked the roads outside of Hoedspruit with boulders after they were alerted of the attack. A skirmish, lasting about 20 minutes, ensued at one of the blockades between the robbers and the farmers, who were armed with pistols. The farmers managed to kill 4 of the robbers and wound 3. No farmer was hurt. The other suspects fled into nearby bushes after the shootout on foot.”

    “The Hoedspruit farmwatch tracked them down using their dogs and arrested the rest of them, recovering all the money from the heist. Great job by the farmers!” Petzer writes.

    Hoedspruit Farmwatch denied that South African Police Service officers had fled the scene.

    Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the community protection team “returned fire and when the dust settled, four suspects were fatally shot, one injured and arrested while others managed to evade arrest by running into nearby bushes,” The Citizen reports.

    The fleeing duo was “arrested while travelling to Acornhoek in a taxi following an intense search mission by the Hoedspruit Farmwatch, the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation and a chopper,” Ledwaba stated.

    “One of the arrested suspects is a highly wanted Mozambican suspect who has been on the run for some time for a spate of crimes he committed in the Free State in 2022 including the murder of a police officer. The injured suspects were found in possession of suspected stolen money, a rifle and a pistol,” the police spokesman said.

    Several community safety organizations met Sept. 19 in Centurion to join forces to to curb farm attacks and rural crime, including AfriForum, Southern African Agri Initiative (SAAI), Transvaal Agricultual Union TLU SA, AgriSA, Forum Sekuriteit, Sakeliga, the South African Special Forces Association (SASFA) and the Association for South African Military veterans, AfriForum reported.

    “AfriForum is excited about the fact that all these organisations are willing to join hands and make a difference against the wave of farm attacks and increasing rural crime. The SAPS itself has already admitted that it cannot fulfil its mandate, and this is obvious when one looks at the chaotic state of crime in the country. It is now time for communities to safeguard themselves,” said Jacques Broodryk, AfriForum’s spokesperson for Community Safety.

    According to Dr. Theo de Jager, executive director of SAAI, the different organizations, civil structures and agricultural unions have feet on the ground when it comes to rural security: “Some organisations have farm watches in remote areas or camera systems, radio networks, emergency centres or response units. Others post guards, patrol national roads or establish and manage private fire services. Ultimately, everyone is in the same industry and has one goal in mind – to secure communities where the government can no longer do it,” said De Jager.

  14. West Point Sued After Director of Admissions Brags About What Happens to White Applicants

    When Ibram X. Kendi’s preposterous thesis that “the only remedy to past discrimination is present discrimination” becomes mainstream practice, you know things are upside down.

    Kendi is the author of the poorly reasoned 2019 leftist propaganda book, “How to Be an Antiracist,” which became not only a bestseller, but a clarion call for progressives.

    In a speech at the Aspen Ideas Festival, Kendi put his anti-reasoning skills on display, according to the New York Post. “When I see racial disparities, I see racism,” Kendi said. If that isn’t a blanket generalization, the logical fallacy of that name has no meaning.

    And yet Kendi’s obtuse theories have burrowed deep into some of America’s most beloved institutions like a fever-carrying tick in a bloodhound’s ear.

    The United States Military Academy in West Point, New York — which has graduated the likes of Ulysses S. Grant, Douglas MacArthur and Dwight D. Eisenhower — is one such institution. And it’s being called out for it.

    On Tuesday, lawyers representing the Students for Fair Admissions sued West Point for alleged race and ethnicity discrimination in admissions decisions, according to Politico. SFFA is the anti-affirmative action group that tanked race-conscious admissions practices at Harvard in a Supreme Court decision.

    But the decision that nixed racial admissions policies at Harvard and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill determined that because no military academy was party to the suit, the opinion did not include admissions issues at these schools “in light of the potentially distinct interests that military academies may present,” according to Politico.

    SFFA didn’t agree with the justices’ logic and argued there is “no justification for using race-based admissions” and, since the practice is now illegal at non-military universities, West Point “is not exempt from the Constitution.”

    SFFA contends that West Point is violating the Fifth Amendment with its skewed admission practices. The Fifth Amendment contains an equal-protection principle that binds the federal government.

    “Instead of admitting future cadets based on objective metrics and leadership potential, West Point focuses on race,” the lawsuit claimed. “In fact, it openly publishes its racial composition ‘goals,’ and its director of admissions brags that race is wholly determinative for hundreds if not thousands of applicants.”

    “Because skin color can be — and often is — a decisive factor for successful applicants who are chosen from those congressional nominee pools, it is equally dispositive for the other qualified nominees who are turned away,” the lawsuit states, according to The Hill.

    “Put differently, because race is a ‘positive’ factor for some West Point applicants, it is necessarily a ‘negative’ factor for others.”

    Also listed in the lawsuit as defendants are the Defense Department, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Army Secretary Christine Wormuth, U.S. Military Academy Superintendent Steven Gilland and West Point Admissions Director Rance Lee.

    It’s tough enough to get into West Point without having your race count against you. You have no control over who your parents are or what color of skin you are born with; those are existential facts. The color of your skin has nothing to do with skill, determination or integrity.

    West Point enrolls 1,200 to 1,300 cadets per class, according to Politico. Applicants must pass medical exams and a physical fitness test. They have to get nominated by either a member of Congress, the vice president or the president. That’s all before prospects can be considered for acceptance by West Point’s admissions office. Fewer than 10 percent of applicants are admitted.

    Having the color of your skin or ethnicity taken into consideration for admission makes about as much sense as Ibram X. Kendi, whose “logic often descends into dizzying circularity and tautologies,” according to the Post. When asked to define “racism” at the progressive Aspen Fest, Kendi said it is “a collection of racist policies that lead to racial inequity that are substantiated by racist ideas.” Huh?

    That’s like West Point contending they use race-based admissions because skin color matters when a future graduate is leading troops on a battlefield or advising a president whether or not to go to war.

    The average American is better at logic — or possesses more common sense — than many of our country’s leaders. The Founding Fathers knew this. It’s why they wrote the Constitution in the way they did, by the people and for the people — regardless of the color of their skin.

    “For most of its history,” the SFFA lawsuit stated, according to Politico, “West Point has evaluated cadets based on merit and achievement. America’s enemies do not fight differently based on the race of the commanding officer opposing them, soldiers must follow orders without regard to the skin color of those giving them, and battlefield realities apply equally to all soldiers regardless of race, ethnicity, or national origin.”

    It’s high time someone started picking the fever-carrying ticks of Critical Race Theory, antiracism and all the other mumbo jumbo out of the necks of our institutions. The proponents of such nonsense are either cultural Marxists or useful idiots for the radical left.

    Only common sense can save us now — not theories based on hate, rather than reason.

    The idea is to move away from fossil fuels to green energy, because of a climate emergency – even though 1,600 scientists say there is no emergency.

    Diesel power plants are therefore very, very bad. Hydroelectric and geothermal projects are good.

    But those green advances are being blocked, and diesel generators are being kept in operation, in one location because of a ban on roads.

    A Fairfield father says that a federally funded health clinic operating within Lawrence High School provided his minor daughter with a baggy of prescription anti-depressants without his knowledge or consent.

    When the girl’s father, Eric Sack, discovered the baggy of pills over the weekend, his daughter told him that it was provided to her by the Bulldog Health Center, a School Based Health Center (SBHC) at Lawrence High School.

    Sack saw the the pills as an infringement on his parental rights, but he was also concerned that the school’s clinic sent unlabeled drugs with no child-resistant container into his home, where his two other younger children also live.

  17. The Supreme Court on Friday extended its stay on an injunction blocking the Biden administration from coercing or significantly encouraging social media companies to censor speech.

    Justice Samuel Alito temporarily froze the injunction until Sept. 22 last week after the Biden administration requested a stay. On Friday, the justices extended the stay to Sept. 27.

    The Fifth Circuit affirmed Sept. 8 that the White House, Surgeon General, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the FBI violated the First Amendment. But it narrowed the original injunction against the government issued by District of Louisiana Judge Terry A. Doughty, excluding the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and other officials from its coverage.

  18. UK Government Contract States That Illegal Immigrants Must Have 3 Star Hotel Rooms or Better

    The Home Office have now told their contractors that individuals who break into the country illegally on small boats must be given better accommodation. Contracts now mandate three star hotels as the acceptable standard. Should those who break the law be treated so comfortably while many of our veterans sleep on the street and families struggle to make ends meet.

    Each day many hundreds of people enter the UK illegally using small rubber boats from France across the English channel, one of the busiest waterways in the world. This has caused great tension between the UK and France with each blaming the other for this scale of immigration. The British accuse the French of doing little to stop the flow while the French blame the UK’s ‘attractive’ labour market and lack of deportations for the Channel crossings.

    When the French President Emmanuel Macron and the British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak last met for a bilateral summit in March, the flow of illegal immigrants across the channel was the main issue. After these discussions Britain agreed to hand over $575m to the French to help them stop the flow. Half a billion dollars! Yet 6 months later not much has changed.

    In 2018, 8,000 people made the 20 mile boat journey from Calais in France to Dover in England. Despite all the negotiations over the years and claims from the UK government to cut immigration numbers, the number crossing has gone up 6 times since 2018! 45,755 people made the crossing last year with the total since 2018 passing 100,000.

    But back to the three star hotel accommodation that every illegal immigrant must now receive. On one hand we have record numbers coming into the UK while on the other hand the CINO (Conservative In Name Only) government tell the public that getting a grip on immigration is a priority. The Home Secretary told Parliament this week: “It is totally unacceptable that too many towns and cities around the country now house the 45,000 asylum seekers who are in hotels… it is not right that the British taxpayer is forking out the cost.” This blatant level of dishonesty does not go unnoticed and the government will be rightly punished at the next general election in 18 months.

    Last October, a Parliament committee was told that £5.6 million a day was being spent on hotels for people who have arrived in the UK and submitted an asylum claim. A year later the figure hit £8 million per day with over 400 hotels being used to house illegal immigrants. Three billion pounds each year for this new business.

    So will anything be done to stop this people trafficking business? Can anything be done? In January Rishi Sunak outlined his top five priorities which included Illegal Immigration. The fifth pledge was “We will pass new laws to stop small boats, making sure that if you come to this country illegally, you are detained and swiftly removed”. The Prime Minister has broken this pledge and forced British taxpayers to pay an ever increasing housing bill to house these people. Enough is enough.

    “If someone is found to have killed Americans, inadvertently, they get fired and shamed publicly. And it’s all put on them. And that’s the end of them. And that’s not what we were seeing.     “Now we have the smoking gun,” announced Dr. Wolf.
    Attorney Edward Berkovich made a request under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on August 29. He asked for emails to and from Dr. Rochelle P. Walensky, Sherri A. Berger, and Kevin Griffis (all CDC staff) between February 1, 2021, and May 31, 2021, that include the term “myocarditis.”

    Initially, Attorney Berkovich received 472 pages, but someone who Dr. Wolf believes could be a whistleblower recently released another 46 pages to Mr. Berkovich.

    46-Page FOIA Documents

    Amy Kelly of DailyClout reported that over 80% of the 46 pages were fully redacted and involved other government entities, such as the White House and the Executive Office of the President. “Of the 46 pages, only two pages were released without any redactions. Seven pages were partially redacted pages, and 37 pages were fully redacted.”

    Normally, redacted pages come with black bars that conceal the withheld text. But since 37 pages were fully redacted, you don’t even see any black bars. It looks like a blank page — but done so intentionally.

    Amy Kelly wrote, “The redactions were ‘pursuant to 5 U.S.C. §552 Exemptions 5 and 6.’”

    Alarmingly, Exemption 5 states, “The Presidential communications privilege protects documents solicited and received by the President or his immediate White House advisers who have broad and significant responsibility for investigating and formulating the advice to be given to the President.”

    In plain English, that means the President and his close advisers in the White House have a “special rule” that lets them keep certain documents private.

    “The reason for all these redactions is that what is redacted was solicited or shared with the President or his most senior advisors,” added Dr. Wolf.

    “Now, what is in these documents?”
    In May 2021, particularly around May 24-25, high-ranking officials from the White House, CDC, NIH, and others were “freaking out,” shared Dr Wolf. What were they panicking about? Myocarditis and TTS [Thrombotic Thrombocytopenia Syndrome]. Or, in simpler terms, conditions involving heart damage, blood clots, and low platelet counts (bleeding risk).

    So “they crafted a media response,” reported Dr. Wolf. “And the media response doesn’t tell the truth.”

    The following summarizes the emails from the FOIA production.
    In the first set of emails, there’s an email thread from May 24-25, 2021, titled “Draft WH [White House] Script and Slides.” This email was sent by Abbigail Tumpey, a former key communicator at the CDC, to Rochelle Walensky, the CDC Director at the time, and several other high-ranking health officials. Attached to the email was a draft meant for a press conference, but the entire 10-page content is blacked out and can’t be seen.

    On May 25, 2021, Benjamin Wakana, a top White House communications official, sent an email titled “COVID Tough QA” to several key health figures, including Dr. Walensky, Dr. Fauci, Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, and several White House advisors. The email had an attachment named “Tough QA 5.24.21 11PM.docx.”

    “The email says, ‘Hi, attached please find the latest tough QA. New topics include:’, and all of the topics are redacted. The attached document, which appears to be 17 pages long, is completely redacted,” Amy Kelly reported.

    “The final email is from Grace Kwak, White House Advisor to the Deputy COVID-19 Response Coordinator, Executive Office of the President, asking Dr. Walensky’s Executive Assistant, Lynn Gershman, where to find ‘papers/briefings’ about ‘…updates on TTS [Thrombotic Thrombocytopenia Syndrome], myocarditis, etc.’ Ms. Gersham forward this ‘request from WH’ to Sherri Berger.”

    Dr. Wolf reflected on the chain of events that took place following these emails.

    “Go back to May, June, July, August, all of 2021. Dr. Fauci lied and lied and lied subsequent to this crisis meeting, these crisis communications, this slide deck that we can’t see. And Dr. Fauci said, ‘Safe and effective. Safe and effective.’ Dr. Rochelle Walensky said, ‘Safe and effective. Safe and effective.’ They rolled out [a public announcement regarding] myocarditis, and remember what they said, ‘extremely rare,’ ‘mild,’ ‘resolves,’ ‘extremely rare,’ ‘mild,’ ‘resolves.’ They knew that they were lying. And they said nothing about the clotting issue from what I recall.”

    “So basically,” explained Dr. Wolf, “they created from this set of crisis communications, directed by the White House with the White House’s most senior advisors, the COVID-19 Response Project, which was overseen by the White House. The White House [with] like 15 of these people who were leading this set of lies to the American public, they were convening because horrible things were happening.”

    “It [adverse events] had been brought to them in February by Israel, that there was heart damage. It was brought to them again in April that there was heart damage and blood clots. Now, it’s May [2021], four months after they first knew about the huge amounts of myocarditis and blood clots. And in May, they get together at the behest of the White House, to create a media response that you experience, all of 2021, all of 2022, to get you to keep injecting this [COVID shot] into your body and injecting it into the bodies of your loved ones. They knew that they were lying, and they knew that they were hurting peoplewith blood clots, platelet problems, and heart damage. And that’s what they did. And that’s what happened.”

    Pope Francis is spending a couple of days in the southern French city of Marseille, where, along with President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte, he is attending the “Rencontres Mediterraneennes” meeting.

    It is the first visit by a pope to France’s second largest city in 500 years, and more than 100,000 people are expected to turn out to see the 86-year-old pontiff.

    Francis’ visit comes as the EU is shaken by the overwhelming number of migrants arriving, leading to countries in Europe implementing border fences, repatriations and even talking about the the possibility of a naval blockade to keep refugees out.

    Out-of-touch Pope Francis ‘challenged French President Emmanuel Macron and other European leaders to open their ports to people fleeing hardship and poverty.’

    Yeah, right. He declared that ‘the continent does not face a migration emergency’ but rather, ‘a long-term reality’ that governments must deal with humanely.

    “For a second straight day in the French port city of Marseille, Francis took aim at European countries that have tried to close their doors to migrants and tried to shame them into responding with charity instead.

    ‘May we let ourselves be moved by the stories of so many of our unfortunate brothers and sisters who have the right both to emigrate and not to emigrate, and not become closed in indifference,” Francis told Macron and others at a Marseille conference centre where Mediterranean region Catholic bishops are meeting. “In the face of the terrible scourge of the exploitation of human beings, the solution is not to reject but to ensure, according to the possibilities of each, an ample number of legal and regular entrances

    The pope’s visit comes as Italy’s conservative government has reacted to a new wave of arriving migrants by threatening to organize a naval blockade of Tunisia and to step up repatriations.

    The French government has also stepped up patrolling on its southern border, to try to stop migrants arriving in Italy from crossing over.

    “Macron’s centrist government has taken a harder line on migration and security issues after coming under criticism from French conservatives and the far right. With elections for the European Union’s parliament set for next year, Macron is pushing for the EU to strengthen its external borders and to be more efficient in deporting individuals who are denied entry.”

    Francis’ two-day trip takes place as mass migration to Europe is once again out of control.

    Nearly 7,000 migrants came ashore on the tiny Italian island of Lampedusa within a day last week, briefly outnumbering the resident population.

    Ignoring the incredible burden that this puts on European families, Francis said that the ‘talk of a migration emergency’ only fuels ‘alarmist propaganda’ and stokes fear.

    “’Those who risk their lives at sea do not invade, they look for welcome, for life’ he said. ‘As for the emergency, the phenomenon of migration is not so much a short-term urgency, always good for fueling alarmist propaganda, but a reality of our times, a process that involves three continents around the Mediterranean and that must be governed with wise foresight, including a European response capable of coping with the objective difficulties’.”

    Pope Francis decried what he called the ‘fanaticism of indifference’, although he exercises this same lack of compassion he criticizes: only it is aimed at the European populations, whose security and standards of living Francis does not care if he sees destroyed.

    “The difficult conditions that cause many people to leave their homes, and the risks they take in doing so, have been a key theme during Francis’s decade as head of the Catholic church.

    Speaking at the Vatican [before departing for Marseille], he said migration ‘represents a challenge that is not easy, but which must be faced together’. He emphasized the need for ‘fraternity, putting human dignity and real people, especially those most in need, in first place’.”

    The French president, Emmanuel Macron, met the pontiff for one-to-one talks today, before attending a mass with almost 60,000 people.

    “Meanwhile, some on the French far right took aim at the pope’s welcoming message on immigration. Marion Maréchal, the niece of Marine Le Pen and a candidate for European parliament elections next year for the Reconquête party led by the far-right TV pundit Éric Zemmour, said last week: ‘I disagree with Pope Francis.     In a significant ruling late Thursday, Judge James Cain of the Western District of Louisiana sided with American energy advocates, striking down the Biden administration’s eleventh-hour restrictions on a pending offshore oil and gas lease sale.

    The injunction, favoring the plaintiffs – the State of Louisiana, the American Petroleum Institute (API), and energy giants Chevron and Shell – puts a halt on the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management’s (BOEM) restrictive measures concerning Lease Sale 261. This crucial sale, encompassing vast expanses in the Gulf of Mexico, was scheduled for the following week.

    The ruling by Judge Cain reiterates the federal government’s obligation to move forward with the lease sale by Sept. 30 under its original terms. The BOEM had, controversially, following a July agreement with environmental factions, excluded nearly six million acres and put forth stringent restrictions on oil and gas vessels to allegedly protect the Rice’s whale in the Gulf.

    Cain’s decision highlighted: “The court observes that plaintiffs have demonstrated substantial potential costs resulting from the challenged provisions.” Notably, he emphasized that the harm done to the industry from these imposed vessel constraints could lead to irreversible financial repercussions.

    Taking a hard stance, Cain asserted the Biden administration seemed to be contriving a “scientific justification to a political reassessment of offshore drilling.” He further criticized the administration’s methodology, comparing it to a “weaponization of the Endangered Species Act” rather than a sensible, collaborative approach fitting the existing regulations.

  22. County Cancels American Christian Heritage Month, But There’s Something the People ‘Teary with Joy’ Don’t Realize

    County officials in California walked back a proclamation making July “American Christian Heritage Month” after a number of left-wing groups claimed the recognition of Christianity violated the U.S. Constitution.

    Critics were ecstatic when the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors caved to the pressure — and threats of litigation — and rescinded the proclamation on Tuesday in a 5-0 vote.

    “The purpose of the proclamation was to recognize some of our religious heritage,” Supervisor John Hidahl explained, according to KXTV-TV. “But unfortunately, with a lot of good intents, there’s unintended consequences that sometimes happen.”

    The proclamation was approved in July on a 4-1 vote. Immediately, liberal activists began agitating against the celebration of America’s Christian heritage, claiming that it violated the separation of church and state.

    “This proclamation is a clear breach of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment of the United States Constitution,” Freedom from Religion Foundation attorney Chris Line said in a letter to the board, according to The Sacramento Bee.

    “By issuing this proclamation advancing Christian nationalism and the debunked myth that we are a Christian nation, El Dorado County is ironically violating the country’s true heritage of religious liberty based on a secular government.”

    The American Civil Liberties Union also chimed in.

    “We are concerned that the Resolution conveys that the County supports, promotes and endorses specific religious beliefs and, as such, violates the California Constitution,” the ACLU wrote in its own letter.

    “Our state Constitution protects the rights of individuals to practice and promote their religion as they see fit and, at the same time, prevents the government from promoting a specific religion or religion in general.”

    Marla Saunders, who had started a petition against the proclamation, said the decision to rescind it had her “teary with joy,” according to The Times of Israel.

    Despite this celebration of supposed constitutional principles, the original proclamation was correct: The U.S. was founded and built mostly by Christians, and Christianity was a chief philosophical tenet in the nation’s founding.

    After all, the Founders did not excise God from government — far from it.

    Not only is God invoked in our seminal founding document, the Declaration of Independence, but, more to the point, every original state in the union supported Christianity in some way, and some even had an official state church. The Founders spent no time at all trying to change that.

    The only thing the Founders did was prevent the federal government from establishing a state church. They had no intention of stopping local jurisdictions from promoting one religion over another.

    Furthermore, there really is no such founding principle as the “separation of church and state.” That phrase does not appear in any founding document.

    The first time the idea was discussed in any detail was by President Thomas Jefferson in an 1802 letter to Baptists in Connecticut. It did not become a “thing” in government or law until 1947 when the Supreme Court used Jefferson’s letter as a basis for its decision in Everson v. Board of Education.

    So the “separation of church and state” is not really a constitutional principle meant to tamp down religion in the public square, as leftists like to claim.

    Indeed, the Founders thought faith was central to the survival of the United States.

    Benjamin Rush, a signer of the Declaration, wrote, “The only foundation for a useful education in a republic is to be laid in religion. Without this there can be no virtue, and without virtue there can be no liberty, and liberty is the object and life of all republican governments.”

    In his 1796 Farewell Address, George Washington said, “Reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.”

    And one more from John Adams, who wrote, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

    There are many, many more such quotes, of course. But this will suffice to show that the Founders had no intention of eliminating Christianity from American life or government.

    Lastly, we need to address an uninformed but widely disseminated claim that always pops up in this conversation — the idea that the Founders were mostly deists, not Christians. This is flat-out untrue.

    Only a handful of Founders considered themselves deists or espoused deistic beliefs, including Benjamin Franklin, likely Gouverneur Morris and, to some extent, Thomas Jefferson.

    The truth is, the ranks of the Founders were filled with Christian theologians, ministers and practicing Christians of several sects. While some deistic ideas were popularly discussed by the Founders, almost none of them actually accepted the label of deist.

    Our nation indeed has a deep Christian heritage, and that is worth celebrating. No pressure campaign from left-wing activists who don’t understand the Constitution can change that.

    A federal judge on Friday struck down California’s ban on high-capacity gun magazines.

    US District Judge Roger Benitez, a George W. Bush appointee, in his ruling said, “there is no American tradition of limiting ammunition capacity.” The judge said detachable magazines “solved a problem with historic firearms: running out of ammunition and having to slowly reload a gun.”

    “There have been, and there will be, times where many more than 10 rounds are needed to stop attackers,” Benitez wrote, according to CBS News. “Yet, under this statute, the State says ‘too bad.’”

    The judge is absolutely correct.
