Kareem Monib said lack of a proper opt-out policy on gender content holds religious students ‘hostage’
A Muslim father in Maryland says Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) is holding religious students “hostage” by refusing to allow parents to opt children out of controversial content related to gender.
Kareem Monib, 45, is the father of four sons and has lived in Maryland for 20 years. In March, he became actively involved in the local community after the Maryland House of Delegates voted to use state funding for “gender-affirming treatments,” a term that Monib described as “gender-mutilating surgery.”
“I was following that, and I was very concerned about what was happening in the country on this issue and the spread of gender ideology and the impact that that was having on kids,” he said. […]
Monib said comments from local officials about parents are tantamount to a “smear campaign.”
“What I tell Muslims is that there was a time [in the not] far-distant past where Muslim organizations were being labeled as hate groups or even terrorist groups, unjustly and unfairly. And so I say it’s morally wrong for us to just accept, you know, these kinds of labels,” he said.
Monib said that associating parents with White supremacists is “ridiculous,” noting most people at local rallies are Ethiopian Orthodox Christians, Muslims and Christians of many skin colors.
“It’s that argument just falls flat on its face. And I’m surprised that they attempted to use it. But it tells me that they had no other tactic to use,” he added.

5. There is an Ottawa District School Board Trustee named Nili Kaplan-Myrth who is a well known character in Ottawa. Far to the left on all the issues, and her tactics as well. After all, communists, whether Jewish or not, wish to destroy Jews as a group exactly as much or more than any other group resistant to being destroyed. No identity is permitted in a communist polity besides comrade. Which is how I know the pronoun BS will end that way. All the dozens of 3rd person and even second person pronouns will be replaced with one, which identifies them as another aphid in the aphidary. Comrade.
Nili has had a complaint against her, well more than one for sure, but this one required a hearing by the rest of the school board. During this hearing, she had a temper tantrum at one of the other board members. From the response, I think she used a classic critical theory attack on her such as racist or some equivalent dialectic. At the end of the hearing a vote was held to censure her, and it was 7 in favour of the censure, 0 against, but she still won because of the abstentions. Yes, it makes no sense in the old fashioned way of reason and democracy but in terms of the post-revolutionary way, where if you think voting makes a difference you need to put down the crack-pipe, yes it does.

Nili Kaplan Myrth is trending on Twitter. For more on this just put her name into the search field on that platform. We can tell you that board has problems well beyond her though. We where there when they held a special session to reinstate a mask mandate in all Ottawa OCDSB schools. While they were not able to do so due most likely to massive public pressure, they had stacked the deck in a scientism way which clearly was not about what is true, or best for the children, but what was in accordance with narratives and diktats. In other words, the OCDSB operated dialectically well before Kaplan-Myrth was on the board, and they used her as an expert to set policies before she was on the board. So this is not anomalous. It also goes to the increasingly risible notion that this whole thing can be fixed from within a system that frankly, no longer exists.

This is one of the experts the School Board used to force the reimplementation of masks. There were no experts called who opposed them. If you listen carefully, you get a graduate course on scientism. Grabbing numbers out of the air with no source or references or arguments to science other than standing on his own authority.
