I have a cell phone.It sits on my desk,when i need it to call someone i use it,when i go out for the day it stays on my desk.i have never needed the immediacy of a cell phone,as a matter of fact if anyone wants to speak to me they can line up.
(note to self,no one wants to speak to you).
Got it and i like it that way.
I have an old flip phone. I only have it with me when I travel long distances in case of an emergency. Never had to use it. My son calls me sometimes to find out where I am. LOL Reversal of roles.
Lotta lotta slaves out there.
I just have the land-line at home. Separate internet server from phone company provider. Costs pennies more, but it might act as a speed-bump.
I don’t even want an answering app: [A]nyone wants to speak to me they can line up.
I installed /e/ OS on a phone. /e/ OS is a de-Googled OS, similar to what he’s talking about.
It works well.
I’ll add this: I charge my phone ever 2-3 days, even though I’m a heavy user. I’m pretty sure that some of the battery savings are due to it expending a lot less energy on spying on me.

Question: If I have my normal phone and get a degoogled one, can I move my SIM back and forth from the two phones? Or will I have to do an insane amount of setup each time I do that? Do you know?
I would like to keep my current phone and treat it like a land line but with bank apps and normal stuff I need,. and use a degoogled one for all travel and calls by swapping SIM back and forth. Is this possible?
I think it depends on the phone. If they are both unlocked GCM phones, and use or can accommodate the SIM card footprint, it shouldn’t be a problem.
