This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

    Officials confirmed Prigozhin was among the victims of the plane crash on Wednesday.

    A boat with illegal migrants from Haiti and the Bahamas landed on a Jupiter, Florida beach Friday morning after ramming a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit vessel at sea.

    Beach goers captured the chaotic scene, showing the group disembarking from the boat and running up the beach before disappearing into the brush.

    The sheriff’s office reported that the group has been apprehended and detained.

    Joey Fago captured exclusive video of the incident.

    The captain of the boat, identified as Bazaeluis Francois, 30, suddenly rammed into the Marine Unit’s vessel, damaging two engines, before taking off.

    A sheriff’s office helicopter and additional marine units pursued the migrants’ boat, which Francois eventually beached just north of the Juno Beach Pier, the sheriff’s office said.

    The CDC in a new report has indicated that a recent sample of US wastewater tested positive for a new variant of Covid.

    The National Wastewater Surveillance System (NWSS) has reported they detected the new coronavirus variant BA.2.86 in one of their latest wastewater samples.

    The finding by the NWSS comes around the same time the Biden administration has been stocking up on COVID-19 equipment.

  11. Judge Dismisses Lawsuit From Six Sorority Sisters Over Transgender Biological Man Being Allowed to Join

    A Wyoming federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit brought by six sorority sisters over the induction of a transgender biological male member.
    In September, the Wyoming-based chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma voted to allow a 6’2 biological man who uses the name “Artemis Langford” to join.

    The sorority sisters sued, claiming that the biological male would watch them undress.

    Their suit urged the court to force the sorority to define the word “woman” and tighten the rules about who could join and move into the house.

    The judge dismissed the entire case on Friday, ruling that the sorority had a right to decide the definition of “woman” for itself and did not breach the housing contract by allowing a biological male to move in.

    McCarthy balked once again. This guy is so weak. Democrats are destroying the country on every front.     A challenge has been filed in a federal court seeking a declaratory relief on the eligibility of President Donald Trump to run in the 2024 Presidential Election.

    The petitioner cites Section 3 of the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which disqualifies individuals involved in “insurrections” against the government from running for federal office.

    The lawsuit, filed on Tuesday by Lawrence A. Caplan, alleges that Trump is constitutionally prohibited from running for president again due to his alleged involvement in the January 6 “insurrection” at the U.S. Capitol.

    Caplan claimed he has participated in the last twelve presidential elections and is a legal resident of Florida. He is also a member of various state bars and federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, asserting that this gives him standing in the matter.

      It speaks to grave disorganization and lack of professionalism that HR adopted an employment statement that is reserved for military use. If there was a doubt, there should have been a conversation with the ITAR office. This is on Musk and his attorneys and the apparent amateurs people in his employ.     The Department of Justice (DOJ) has launched a lawsuit against Elon Musk and SpaceX for allegedly prioritizing the hiring of U.S. citizens and permanent residents. In a peculiar twist, it appears that the DOJ itself follows similar hiring practices.

    The Gateway Pundit previously reported that the Department of Justice (DOJ) has filed a lawsuit against Elon Musk’s company, SpaceX, claiming their hiring policies discriminate against refugees and asylees.

    The lawsuit, filed on Thursday, alleges that “from at least September 2018 to May 2022, SpaceX routinely discouraged asylees and refugees from applying and refused to hire or consider them, because of their citizenship status, in violation of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).”

  16. Why the House Has No Alternative to an Impeachment Inquiry into President Biden
    Below is my column in The Messenger on the expanding evidence in the Biden corruption scandal and the need for Congress to take commensurate action to investigate the matter. After this column ran, Fox’s Brian Kilmeade conducted an interview with Ukrainian prosecutor general Viktor Shokin. What was striking about the interview is not just the contradiction with other accounts (like insisting that he was investigating Burisma and the investigation was expanding when he was fired), but that he claimed that Kilmeade was the first to seek to interview him. This is just Shokin’s account and many question his veracity. However, it is astonishing that this is the first interview that I have seen of one of the key figures in this scandal. It highlights the need to still fully investigate a scandal that the media has largely avoided in prior years. However, the greatest case for an impeachment inquiry was made by Attorney General Merrick Garland himself.

    When Congress returns next month, it has little alternative but to launch a long-discussed impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. For House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), the case for an inquiry came from a most unlikely source: Attorney General Merrick Garland.

    The debacle in the Hunter Biden investigation has left most objective legal analysts in disbelief, with one CNN analyst calling it an “unholy mess.”

    Even before the collapse of a widely condemned “sweetheart deal” with Hunter, the investigation headed by U.S. Attorney David Weiss was a growing concern for many observers. In prior years, I wrote about Garland’s refusal to appoint a special counsel despite the obvious conflicts posed by the potential involvement of President Biden in his son’s alleged influence-peddling scandal. I also raised the problem of an investigation that remained ongoing for years as the statute of limitations expired on major potential crimes.

    It turns out that the same concerns were being raised within the Weiss team. Two IRS whistleblowers recently confirmed that the expiration of potential tax felony crimes was raised with Weiss and the Department of Justice (DOJ). There reportedly was an agreement to extend that period, including on the violations tied to the most controversial alleged payments from sources in Ukraine and other countries. The two witnesses testified that the Justice Department instead allowed the statute of limitations to expire.

    These two whistleblowers — and, more recently, a former FBI agent — said that the DOJ tipped off the Biden team on attempts to interview Hunter and to conduct searches. They describe an investigation that was anything but the “routine” matter described by congressional Democrats in seeking to block House investigations.

    What followed has bordered on the burlesque. Weiss cut a deal with Hunter’s legal team that was widely derided. After years of investigation, he and the DOJ agreed to a couple of tax misdemeanors, a papered-over gun charge, and no risk of jail time for the president’s son. The deal disassembled in court after a few questions from the presiding judge about sweeping immunity language and other curious elements. When District Judge Maryellen Noreika asked the prosecutor if he had ever seen any agreement like this one, he replied “no.”

    House Republicans had previously demanded that Weiss and his team answer questions about the investigation and the plea bargain. And an appearance before a House committee was planned when Garland suddenly preempted that by doing what many of us have demanded for years: He appointed a special counsel. To the amazement of many, though, he appointed the one prosecutor who should have been categorically excluded — David Weiss.

    Section 600.3 of the DOJ’s code on special counsels requires an appointment from outside the Justice Department, for obvious reasons. While another prior special counsel, John Durham, also came from within the Justice Department, Durham was retiring from the department at the time of his appointment. Not only did Garland have to ignore his own regulations to appoint Weiss but he also had to ignore the main qualification: The appointed outside counsel should be someone with “a reputation for integrity and impartial decision-making.”

    Weiss could well have a legitimate defense to Republican complaints that he ran a fixed investigation into Hunter or accusations that he made false statements to his own team. However, he clearly remains under suspicion by many people. That is reflected in an ABC News/Ipsos poll in which almost half of Americans lack trust that the DOJ will conduct the Hunter Biden investigation in a “fair and nonpartisan manner.”

    In addition to this controversial appointment, Garland again refused to expressly extend the special counsel’s mandate to include influence-peddling allegations involving President Biden.

    Even some liberal pundits are mystified by these moves and why Garland would not simply appoint someone in compliance with the regulations who could guarantee a new and full investigation.

    So Weiss is now investigating crimes that continue to dwindle in number due to the long delays in prosecution. It is like waiting for winter to go goose hunting in Canada, long after the geese have flown South. Everyone just gets dressed up and fires aimlessly into an empty sky.

    While Hunter still can be charged on the same meager grounds (and possibly the addition of a Foreign Agents Registration Act charge), the alleged fix remains in the Biden investigation.

    Now, however, Congress will have a more difficult time getting answers out of Weiss because he can claim he is engaged in an ongoing special counsel investigation, and he can use the eventual special counsel report as much to defend his own actions as to detail any potential crimes.

    At the same time, the Biden administration still is resisting the sharing of information with the House, including records held by the National Archives.

    For months, I have discussed a potential impeachment of the president with Republican House members and have encouraged them not to repeat the abuses of House Democrats in the use of “snap impeachments” and the discarding of fact hearings in the House Judiciary Committee.

    Garland, however, has effectively forced their hands.

    While Garland seems incapable of imagining any crime involving the president, he has made a conclusive — if unintended — case for an impeachment inquiry.

    With the investigative impediments created by the Weiss appointment and by Garland’s refusal to expressly extend the special counsel’s mandate to the allegations of Biden family influence-peddling, there is little choice but to commence an impeachment inquiry. The authority of the House is at its apex when carrying out its duties under the impeachment clause.

    Whatever interest — or ability — remains to prosecute Hunter Biden, Congress has a separate duty to confirm any high crimes and misdemeanors committed by President Biden. Indeed, the Democrats themselves established precedent for carrying out retroactive impeachments for prior offices, including any which may have occurred when Biden was vice president.

    With the current state of the Hunter Biden investigation and the baffling conduct of Attorney General Garland, there is no alternative for the House but to launch the impeachment inquiry.

    There are still no answers from the FBI on why they found it necessary to raid the home of a disabled US veteran and shoot him dead on the morning of August 16th.

    Theodore Deschler was shot and killed when FBI agents raided his home near Henderson, Tennessee.

    Now Deschler’s family are looking for answers. There is still no news from the government on why they had to break out the windows, toss smoke bombs into the home, and then shoot Deschler who was unarmed at the time.

    The story first broke on local WBBJ on August 16th. WBBJ was tipped off by a local viewer about the shooting.

    Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo is urging people to refuse to follow any new mask mandates as schools slowly try to reinstate Covid policies.

    On Thursday Ladapo suggested that people should refuse to participate.

    “What do you call re-imposing mask policies that have been proven ineffective or restarting lockdowns that are known to cause harm?” Joseph Ladapo said in a tweet. “You don’t call it sanity.”

    General Motors is closing its IT Innovation Center in Chandler, Arizona, cutting 940 jobs.

    The closing came as a major shock, ChandlerNews.com reported.

    This location will close on Oct. 31, according to KTVK-TV.

    “Today’s announcement that GM plans to close its Arizona IT Innovation Center came as a complete surprise,” economic development director Micah Miranda said.

  22. Lahaina Fire Survivor Blasts Jeff Bezos and Oprah During Emergency Council Meeting: “Jeff Bezos, You Got What You Wanted. Oprah, You Got What You Wanted — F*** Us All Over”

    On August 8th, a devastating fire swept through the historic town of Lahaina, leaving a community in anguish and despair. Homes were razed, businesses destroyed, and lives disrupted.

    The fire killed hundreds, and thousands are still missing. The Hawaii State Department of Education issued a report Thursday stating that 2,025 students are not accounted in the Lahaina public school system in the wake of the August 8 fire that ravaged the town of Lahaina on the island of Maui.

    The four schools, two elementary, one intermediary and one high school that comprised the Lahaina school district had a total of 3,001 students enrolled before the fire. The schools are closed due to damage from the fires, with one elementary school heavily damaged and not likely to re-open for some time. The other three suffered damage from high winds, debris and soot. The report does not mention whether–or even the likelihood–many of the missing children were killed in the fire.

    On August 22nd, the Maui County Council held an emergency meeting, with community members expressing their anger and calling for transparency and accountability from various agencies involved. Concerns were raised about the emergency proclamation, lack of communication and coordination, and the need for immediate and affordable housing solutions.

    Among those giving testimony was 61-year-old Christine Borge, a Lahaina resident who lost her home in the fire.

    “My name is Christine Borge, I guess you could say I’m a kapuna [honored elder]. I was living on 18th Street when it happened. I walked away with nothing except my dog,” Borge began.

    Her testimony highlighted the challenges she and her community face in navigating aid processes that are culturally insensitive and overwhelmingly bureaucratic.

    Borge slammed FEMA and the Small Business Administration (SBA) for their conflicting guidelines and paperwork. “I walked out yesterday because I’m hearing conflicting stories of what paper I should fill out,” she said. According to Borge, four out of five people in her community lost their homes, yet they are being met with labyrinthine processes that make it difficult to access even basic aid.

    “So many people, my employees, they’re Filipino, and they don’t know how to fill these papers out. Four out of five of us lost our homes; it was burned to the ground.”

    “We busted our ass and this is what we get. Nobody called us. Our phones didn’t work from five in the morning. The fire was not 10 o’clock when I went to work. The fire was still there. There was no water. Tell me if that’s that’s coincidence. No water, no warning. And everybody talking about the satellite city before the fire. Lahaina gonna be the first satellite city.”

    Borge did not mince her words when she accused high-profile individuals such as Jeff Bezos and Oprah Winfrey of exploiting the situation.

    “Jeff Bezos, you got what you wanted. Oprah, you got what you wanted — F*** us all over,” she said, implying that the disaster would benefit wealthy individuals who have vested interests in the area.

    The accusation seemed to tie into longstanding local fears that Lahaina was being transformed into a “Satellite City” for wealthy individuals and corporations at the expense of local communities.

    Borge also criticized those discouraging tourism, a vital industry for the local economy.

    “Don’t say don’t come to Maui, because you’re not speaking for us, the working people,” she stated. According to her, the locals need tourism to survive, especially as they rebuild their lives post-disaster.

    The debate to nowhere
    Ignoring the monster.

    The first Republican candidates debate has come and gone. It’s not particularly useful to comment on everyone; Ron DeSantis is the one who will survive to the primaries with realistic prospects for the nomination. I thought DeSantis did well, although of course he could have made a greater impact if he’d been able to field more of the questions. I did appreciate being informed of what time of day Governor Burgum of North Dakota used to shower as a young feller (night, not morning). Some things you might have known you didn’t know if you thought about them, but I hadn’t thought about that. So I was grateful to have that unknown-unknown knowledge void filled.

    That said, my principal comment on the debate is that it ignored the mastodon in the room: the state of American government in 2023, and how it’s heading for a great train wreck for the Republic.

    The debate questions focused on some important issues. But not one of them was as important to America’s future as the ones that went unaddressed. The debate had an unreal, irrelevant atmosphere because it proceeded as if three aspects of our current situation don’t exist.

    Here are the three.

    One, the previous president, Donald Trump, has been indicted in kangaroo-court cases that had to be concocted against him through ellipsis and bootstrapping, because there’s no evidence for crimes that actually exist in statute. Even with the very few single counts that can be credibly said to have definitions in relevant statutes, the evidence adduced doesn’t meet the burden of the definition in law.     Presumably because of that, we’ve already seen judges play games with attorney-client privilege and the conventions of executive privilege and latitude for prosecutors. The defendant’s lawyers are being threatened by the institutions whose goodwill they need to remain in their profession.

    The major media make short shrift of these startling moves, which are so contrary to the rule of law – if, that is, the media acknowledge them at all. The defendant, meanwhile, is subjected to gag orders while the prosecutors are abetted in “leaking” whatever will put their narrative in the best light. That includes relentlessly deceptive talking points.

    We’re watching the deck being stacked against a defendant, live and in color, and there doesn’t seem to be anything to do about it.

    In the last 10 days we’ve also seen judges set trial dates that are obviously intended to have a political impact in terms of the 2024 election schedule.

    All of this is being honchoed by the agencies of a president of the opposing political party, who as far as we can tell today will be his party’s candidate in 2024.

    The corrupt nature of this is mind-boggling. Manifestly, it is not merely about President Trump. It’s convenient for a number of purposes to operate on the premise that it is merely about Trump, who is an unusually polarizing figure and often hard to defend on grounds of rudeness and bombast. But Trump is a distractor. The real issue is the abusive weaponization of government against a political opponent.

    That comes into sharpened focus with aspect two of the state of the Republic. That aspect is the weaponization of government already underway against numerous ordinary citizens whom the government effectively views, on the model of Stalinism, as enemies of the state.

    The J6 riot defendants who have been denied constitutional rights and hounded well past any justifiable level of detention and punishment are one obvious group.

    Many of them, though not all, were legitimately guilty of misdemeanor infractions during the surge into the U.S. Capitol on the afternoon of 6 January 2021.
