So Bill C18 seems to have kicked in and now Facebook and Google are refusing to allow Canadian news links to be posted to those platforms, as Trudeau has decided they have to pay a fee everytime they use their news. Which has a certain logic to it. CBC, CTV and Global in particular is government funded propaganda. So one can understand that they want to be paid for it. Of course, that will dramatically diminish the spread and effectiveness of said propaganda but that is a curse we will all have to learn to live with I guess. Other websites have referred to bill C-18 as “an own goal”. It is looking like that at the moment. But hey! Anything that stops the CBC reaching vulnerable people we gotta support.

5. Michigan House passes bill that could make using wrong pronouns a felony, fineable up to $10,000
(If a wrong pronoun gets you a $10,000.00 fine, then the adjectives I would use would get me the electric chair)
A recently passed bill in Michigan could make it a felony to intimidate someone by intentionally using the wrong gender pronouns, according to some legal experts.
Michigan’s state House of Representatives has passed bill HB 4474, a piece of legislation that criminalizes causing someone to feel threatened by words.
Under the new bill, offenders are “guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 5 years, or by a fine of not more than $10,000.”
“‘Intimidate’ means a willful course of conduct involving repeated or continuing harassment of another individual that would cause a reasonable individual to feel terrorized, frightened, or threatened, and that actually causes the victim to feel terrorized, frightened, or threatened,” the bill reads.
The bill specifically addresses “sexual orientation” and “gender identity or expression” as protected classes.
According to the bill, “‘Gender identity or expression’ means having or being perceived as having a gender-related self-identity or expression whether or not associated with an individual’s assigned sex at birth.”

Despite increasing the police presence in the country to 45,000 policemen and gendarmes onto the streets – equipped for the first time with 18 armored vehicles – the unrest situation in France remains out of control in the first night since the videotaped death teenager Nahel, and as much as 100 cities were touched by riots on Friday night.
Nahel was shot after trying to flee a traffic stop, and died after emergency services attended the scene. His death ignited a revolt among the poor, racially mixed, urban communities.
