Reader’s Links for June 22, 2023

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

    • yucki, You must understand by now, I am not a flowery writer. I read comments and take them with a grain of salt. But I cannot and will not read you trashing any doctor who has spoke out about the vaccines, and remain silent.

You say there is not enough known about the illnesses for a “remedy”. There was never enough known about the vaccines for ANYONE to get the vaccines.

You say “You’re buying into McCullough’s name. Sucker”. Did you not get 2 vaccines? Was it Fauci’s name you bought into?

“Everyday day, every article you post about the poison makes my heart beat just a little faster. The spikes, the clots. Every. Single. Article. You. Post.” Well, if I were vaccinated, my heart would probably beat a little faster too. IF one of my post, stops one person from getting the vaccine……

“I try not to marinate in fear. I get by intellectualizing in a spectrum of threats. Quantifying risk, guarding my sanity from a session”. Really, well good for you. I have only one fear, I will admit, I am afraid of spiders.

      YUCKI. DON’T. READ. MY. POSTS.

In the past you have reprimanded me for many things. I get it that you have no sense of humour.

The good doctor is scheduled to speak before the College of Physicians and Surgeons on July 11. Perhaps some “intellectual” will stand up and mention the comment on a misinformation site, about the snake oil salesman.

I have family members who now regret getting 1 or 2 shots, they asked me in the past, what can they do, if anything, to help themselves. They are following protocols that many “real” doctors have suggested, and in case you think they are a group of halfwits, many have degrees and not in women studies. They know they were “suckered”.

LOYALTY — the state of being loyal — strong feelings of support or allegiance.

      • Probably best to be careful not to get to hostile to people on our side as there are so precious few of us that are legit. Meaning there are people 100% genuinely on side with us but who have legitimate disagreements or one or both parties can be wrong about a thing, but that doesn’t make them the enemy.

        Having said all that…

Dr. Zev Zelenko who came up with HCQ as a proper way of treating Covid for people who were actually at risk of death and disease from it, also came up with a series of supplements which he published, that would help people. It was called, The Zelenko Protocol.

His own followers begged him to make this protocol because they didn’t want to buy all those bottles and take all those pills. They wanted one bottle with exactly what Zev thought was the best combo and they wanted to know it was quality ingredients and to support Dr. Zelenko in the process. So he did, even though by then he knew he was on very short time.

My guess is McCullough, who published the Natokinase findings well before he had it under his brand, did the same. People who have come to mistrust the pharma industry, although for the life of me I can’t imagine why that would be /set sarcasm mode off/ begged Peter to come up with a test to know its legit and market it because they trust him and for very very good reasons.

I only hope that Peter is making up at least some of his losses he suffered for warning the world about these vaccines. Like Ryan Cole and many other doctors I know, and some I won’t mention as I don’t want to embarrass them, but some doctors have endured unimaginable hardships to try and protect their patients from these measures. Things I can say with some certainty very very few of us would endure.

        • Yucki sent the message to me for all to see. I have never been called a sucker before. I came to this site with a bit of a hostile welcome and I shall leave with the same. I am going to go find Martin.

          • Stick around ET. I think she meant it in a general, not personal sense. We can’t afford to lose people of your caliber.

  1. Then as now the signs were there
The signs of times we’d seen before
    One-hundred years, one-hundred blinks
As then as now the clever ones
Yes the titans of our day
Yes the bankers who hold sway
    Waltzing down their garden paths
While sweet roses guide their way
    Obfuscating darker scents
Like murmerings that creep to mind
But normal is as normal does
    Until its bias detonates
Then even titans have to pay.

Now cross the river to the trees
Then climb into those breasted hills
Behold the Turnings to the Fourth
    Echoing Fitzgerald’s day
    Rappers, flappers–all the same
    Exuberant but quite inane
    This pandemic of the blind
Who see and hear yet cannot bare
Their hearts to hard things clearly there
And so this beat continues on
    But who is blind?

Biden Blows Up Blinken’s Diplomatic Mission to China
    By Larry Johnson Jun. 22, 2023 7:00 am130 Comments

Dementia Joe does it again. Less than 24 hours after Secretary of State Blinken genuflected before the Chinese, assuring them that the United States really, really, really is sincere in supporting the One China policy and eschews calling for Taiwan’s independence, Biden opened his yap and called Xi Jinping a dictator. While this garnered applause from the American financial donors, it destroyed Blinken’s credibility with the Chinese and confirmed their worst suspicions about U.S. intentions.

When it comes to the art of diplomacy, saying what you really think or believe is not an acceptable practice. While many Americans believe that China’s Xi is a dictator and are wondering what the fuss is surrounding Biden’s intemperate, off-the-cuff remark, saying this in public stiffens Chinese doubts about U.S. intentions and makes it virtually impossible for the United States to have any kind of productive working relationship with China going forward

      Or are they both outliers?
How has this mix changed over time?

      • There are more, the problem is I don’t know which are trustworthy.

I trust Brad and usually trust Johnson’s but the rest are question marks. As I find more I at least semi trust I will post their work.

Report Reveals the “Sensitive” U.S. Intelligence on the Chinese Spy Balloon that Joe Biden Casually Blurted Out to Democrat Donors During a Campaign Fundraiser (VIDEO)
      By Cullen Linebarger Jun. 22, 2023 9:30 am36 Comments
      TruthGettrGabTelegramShareTweet

Cristina Laila previously reported that Joe Biden exhibited a rare moment of clarity when he called Chinese leader Xi Jinping a dictator while giving a speech at a campaign fundraiser in California. The only problem is during that same speech, the Idiot-in-Chief spilled a few national security secrets.

Breitbart reported that Biden blurted out to attendees what the U.S. intelligence agencies had learned about the Chinese spy balloon incident earlier this year. This reportedly surprised U.S. government officials according to the New York Times which called the information “sensitive.”

“The reason why Xi Jinping got very upset in terms of when I shot that balloon down with two boxcars full of spy equipment in it is he didn’t know it was there,” Biden boasted to approximately 130 Democrat at the fundraising event. “No, I’m serious. That’s what’s a great embarrassment for dictators, when they didn’t know what happened.”

The mentally shot so-called President then revealed the spy balloon was supposed to be tracking military installations in Hawaii and Alaska but was blown off course.

That wasn’t supposed to be going where it was. It was blown off course up through Alaska and then down through the United States and he (Xi) didn’t know about it.

But Biden was not finished casually sharing national security secrets with his campaign donors. Here is what he said about America’s assessment of and strategy relating to China.

What he (Xi) was really upset about was that I insisted that we reunite the so-called Quad. He called me and told me not to do that because it was putting him in a bind.

All we’re doing — we’re not trying to surround you, we’re just trying to make sure the international rules with air and sea lanes remain open. And we’re not going to yield to that — on that.

Biden concluded his reckless speech by telling his money men not to worry about China. Of course, he stumbles over his words before finally getting to the point.

Don’t worry about China…I mean, worry about China, but don’t worry about China. … No, but I really mean it. China is real — has real economic difficulties.

This comment brings to mind an infamous episode in 2019 where Biden mocked the idea that China was going to eat America’s lunch. He also went on to falsely assert China was no competition for America.

      WATCH:

Tuesday’s incident just provides further confirmation that Joe Biden is a walking and talking national security threat. If President Trump had done this, it would be wall-to-wall coverage on every mainstream media network.

But you will not hear one peep from the corporate media because they are determined to protect Biden at all costs.

      • Xi can’t take a joke… like Erdogan… or MbS. “Face” and all that.

But Larry Johnson sometimes barks like a running dog.

Even so, his take on an MSM article about Putin is dead-on correct. With excellent video clips to back it up. That’s why I continue to read anti-American analysts (+/- shills for the enemy).

I was shocked to read one of my idols, V.D. Hanson, parroting the same MSM anti-Putin canard in a recent article. A category error that’s totally alien to my favorite classical historian.

  6. Convalescing Pope Francis Slips Right Back Into Old Habits: Meets With Socialists, Climate Alarmists – Globalist Pontiff Pushing Document in Favor of LGBTQ+ Acceptance by the Church
    By Paul Serran Jun. 22, 2023 10:15 am0 Comments

After a prolonged stay in the hospital after abdominal surgery to repair a hernia and remove painful scarring from previous surgeries, Pope Francis got right back into his groove.

His doctors insisted he cut back on activities, so the catholic leader cancelled his traditional Wednesday morning audience with pilgrims and tourists in St. Peter’s Square; because – of course – the globalist Pope has to save his strength for the powerful people of this globalist world.

Socialists and climate alarmists paraded with the recovering pontiff. He received Brazil’s president Lula, and – more controversially – Cuba’s president, Miguel Diaz-Canel.

  7. Fifth Circuit Backs America First Legal: Overturns Federal Transgender Mandates Compelling Employers to Allow Men to Use the Women’s Facilities
    By Jim Hoft Jun. 22, 2023 10:00 am17 Comments

In a landmark legal victory, America First Legal (AFL) won a critical Fifth Circuit ruling against federal transgender mandates issued by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

The EEOC had instituted a federal mandate compelling employers, including religious organizations, to permit employees to use restrooms that correspond to their gender identity, regardless of their biological sex or whether they have undergone sex-change surgery. This mandate, AFL’s client argued, violated their rights.

The Fifth Circuit ruled in favor of AFL’s clients.

  8. A Step Too Far: U.S. Approves Sale of Lab-Grown Chicken Meat in Unsettling Precedent
    By Jim Hoft Jun. 22, 2023 9:15 am297 Comments

In an unprecedented move that could fundamentally reshape the very concept of the food industry, b
U.S. regulators have approved the sale of “lab-grown” chicken meat.

On Wednesday, the Agriculture Department gave the go-ahead to two California-based companies, Upside Foods and Good Meat, to bring their cell-cultivated meat to the nation’s restaurant tables and, eventually, supermarket shelves.

The companies have been racing to be the first in the U.S. to sell meat that doesn’t come from slaughtered animals. They’ve branded this controversial new product as “cell-cultivated” or “cultured” meat.

“This announcement that we’re now able to produce and sell cultivated meat in the United States is a major moment for our company, the industry and the food system,” said Josh Tetrick, CEO of Eat Just, which operates Good Meat.

While the companies and regulators claim the development is a step toward eliminating harm to animals and reducing environmental impacts, critics remain unconvinced.

“Instead of all of that land and all of that water that’s used to feed all of these animals that are slaughtered, we can do it in a different way,” Tetrick added.

These optimistic claims seem to overshadow the stark realities of this process. Cultivated meat is developed by growing animal stem cells in a nourishing medium and a bioreactor. The end product mimics the appearance and taste of traditional meat.

According to PBS, for Upside, the end product comes out in large sheets shaped into items like chicken cutlets and sausages. Good Meat, which already sells cultivated meat in Singapore, transforms chicken cells into a variety of forms, such as cutlets, nuggets, and shredded meat.

However, the public should exercise caution before embracing this so-called “innovation.”

Not only does this advancement raise ethical and potential health concerns, but it also brings into question the sustainability of this method. The rush to bring lab-grown meat to market may be premature without a comprehensive understanding of its long-term environmental impact, economic feasibility, and potential health risks.

As it stands, the Agriculture Department’s approval feels more like a worrying leap into the unknown, rather than a confident step forward for sustainability and animal welfare. It remains to be seen whether consumers will readily accept meat that swaps the farmyard for the laboratory.

      • They are working on that, both from sperm and eggs and from single cells. The ultimate goal is probably designer humans like in “Brave New World”. I haven’t read any deep ecology text about designing new humans but that doesn’t mean anything.

  9. Pres. Trump Defends ‘Punching Down’ in Politics, Says it’s Necessary to Speak Badly About Those Who Speak Badly About You: “You Have To Put Them in Their Place”
    By Jim Hoft Jun. 22, 2023 8:30 am194 Comments

Former President Donald Trump recently made statements defending the practice of “punching down” in political discourse.

In order to clarify matters for his supporters, Trump stated, it is sometimes necessary to sharply condemn people who unfairly malign him for political purposes.

In his speech, Trump mentioned several figures, including New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, and Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson. However, in a clear jab, he intentionally mispronounced Asa Hutchinson’s name as “Ada.”

“Many say don’t punch down when talking about people like Chris Sununu or sloppy Chris Christie or Ada Hutchinson. I call him Ada. Not Asa, because of certain reasons or others,”aid Trump in a video uploaded by Trump War Room Wednesday.

“But sometimes it’s necessary to talk badly about those that, for no reason other than politics, speak badly about you. Otherwise, the people that love you don’t know whether or not they’re for real,” he added.

Trump suggested that the criticisms he receives from these political figures are not grounded in truth, insinuating that their objections are unfounded and purely politically motivated. He asserted the need to respond to such criticism to clarify the situation for his supporters.

“Are they saying the truth? They’re not. So sometimes you have to punch down and you have to say what’s happening? Otherwise, they won’t understand. It’s not fair to them. You have to put them in proper perspective,” Trump continued.

In the final part of his speech, Trump referred to his critics as “bad people” and emphasized the importance of putting them “in their place.” He stated that such individuals can be “very destructive” and that it’s crucial to inform voters about their true intentions.

“These bad people, you have to put them in their place. People like this are very destructive, and you have to tell the voters what it’s all about. Otherwise, why should they be able to understand it?” he concluded.

  10. BREAKING: US Coast Guard Says Underwater Robot Found “Debris Field” in Search For Titan Submarine
    By Cristina Laila Jun. 22, 2023 11:25 am31 Comments

The Titan submersible is seen descending in a photo from the OceanGate website.

The US Coast Guard on Thursday said an underwater robot found a “debris field” in search for the OceanGate Titan submarine.

The submarine disappeared with five people on board on Sunday.

The OceanGate submarine was on a tourist exhibition of the wreckage of the Titanic which is 12,500 feet at the bottom of the Ocean.

British billionaire Hamish Harding was on the submarine.

    Fox News reported:

The Coast Guard has scheduled a press conference for 3 p.m. ET in Boston, Massachusetts following the announcement that an underwater “debris field” has been found in the search for OceanGate’s missing Titan submarine, which vanished Sunday with five people onboard.

“The Coast Guard is scheduled to hold a press briefing to discuss findings from the Horizon Arctic’s remotely operated vehicle near the Titanic,” it said in a press release.

Around five hours ago, the Coast Guard said the Horizon Arctic’s ROV “reached the sea floor and began its search for the missing sub.”

The Titan submarine vanished Sunday morning with five people onboard: OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, French mariner Paul-Henry Nargeolet, British businessman and explorer Hamish Harding, Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood and his son Sulaiman Dawood.

The Titan lost contact with its surface vessel, the Polar Prince, around 1 hour and 45 minutes into its dive Sunday morning, about 900 miles east of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and around 400 miles southeast of St John’s, in Canada’s Newfoundland.

Damon Lawner, the founder of Snctm, has been banned from the high-end sex club after he publicly identified Hunter Biden as a former member. The claim about President Biden’s son was included in a Times profile of Lawner published Tuesday.

“Snctm, as a private members club, prioritizes the safety and privacy of our esteemed members above all,” a spokeswoman for Snctm wrote in an email to The Times on Wednesday. “Consequently, we neither confirm nor deny the identities of our attendees. Furthermore, we uphold a strict code of conduct, and any infringement leads to a lifetime ban. Please note that Mr. Lawner’s membership has been revoked, effective immediately.”

  13. Alexander Vindman Has Meltdown Over Schiff Censure, Calls Reporter a B*tch

Trump-Ukraine impeachment conspirator Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, USA Ret., had a meltdown Wednesday night over the censure of Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) by the Republican controlled House of Representatives over his lies and deceitful conduct falsely accusing President Trump of Russian collusion. Vindman attacked Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Breitbart reporter Kristina Wong, calling Wong a “bitch.”

Vindman went off on McCarthy for his tweet announcing that the censure vote against Schiff would take place Wednesday. McCarthy wrote, “Adam Schiff abused his position as Chair of Intel to lie and lead America through a national nightmare with the fake Russia collusion narrative. As Speaker, I removed him from the Intel Committee, and now the full House will vote to censure him and open an ethics investigation.”

  15. House Ways and Means Chair Details Multiple Felony Charges the IRS Recommended Against Hunter Biden – All Blocked By Biden’s DOJ (VIDEO)
    By Cristina Laila Jun. 22, 2023 1:30 pm67 Comments

House Ways and Means Chair Jason Smith (R-MO) on Thursday detailed MULTIPLE felony charges that whistleblowers said the IRS recommended against Hunter Biden.

The investigation into Hunter Biden opened in November 2018 as an off-shoot of a separate, corporate investigation by the IRS.

Rep. Smith said, “The investigation was in the ordinary course of work at the IRS. It was not ordered by any individual, any chairman or any political entity.”

The IRS recommended charges against Hunter Biden that included:

Attempt to evade or defeat tax – A FELONY
Fraud or false statements – A FELONY
Willful failure to file returns, supply information or pay tax
“These tax crimes cover an estimated $2.2 million in unreported tax on global income…from Ukraine, Romania, and China, totaling $17.3 million from 2014 to 2019.”

He added, “Mr. Biden personally received $8.3 million.”

    WATCH:

Rather than charging Hunter Biden with felonies for evading taxes and providing false statements to the feds, Joe Biden’s corrupt DOJ gave him a sweetheart deal.

Hunter Biden was hit with two misdemeanors related to unpaid taxes from 2017 and 2018.

Joe Biden’s DOJ blocked two search warrants and multiple felony charges against Hunter Biden, according to an IRS whistleblower who spoke to lawmakers.

“I am blowing the whistle because the Delaware U.S. Attorney’s Office, Department of Justice Tax, and Department of Justice provided preferential treatment and unchecked conflicts of interest in an important and high-profile investigation of the President’s son, Hunter Biden,” IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley told lawmakers in a testimony obtained by Just The News.

According to Just the News, Shapley told lawmakers that an Assistant US Attorney in Delaware working on Hunter’s case REJECTED a search warrant for Joe Biden’s Delaware home in 2020.

A separate search warrant for Hunter Biden’s storage locker was also blocked by Joe Biden’s henchmen.

    Just the News reported:

A supervisory IRS agent divulged to Congress widespread interference in the probe of Hunter Biden, including the blockage of two search warrants and more extensive criminal charges, while also confirming the government had evidence that Joe Biden met with his son’s Chinese business partners, according to testimony released Thursday,

Just the News obtained the testimony of IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley shortly after the House Ways and Means Committee voted to pierce Hunter Biden’s tax privacy and make the agent’s allegations of preferential treatment and political interference public.

He confirmed career prosecutors originally intended to charge Hunter Biden with numerous tax violations dating to 2014, but in the end appointees of Joe Biden nixed the plan for a more sweeping indictment. In the end, the charges were narrowed to two counts in 2017 and 2018 that most likely spared the presidential son prison time.

  16. New Illinois Bill Would Allow Non US Citizens to Serve in Law Enforcement

While current federal law prohibits non-U.S. citizens from working in law enforcement, Illinois is looking to change that.

The Illinois House and Senate recently passed Bill 3751 allowing some work-eligible non US citizens to serve in law enforcement in the state.

The bill states, “Reinserts the provisions of the engrossed bill and adds that an individual against whom immigration action has been deferred by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services under the federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) process is allowed to apply for the position of police officer, deputy sheriff, or special policeman, subject to specified requirements. 17. John Durham Gives Chilling Response to Harriet Hageman Question About Two-Tiered Justice System: ‘The Nation Can’t Stand’ (VIDEO)
    By Mike LaChance Jun. 22, 2023 3:00 pm0 Comments

Wyoming Republican Rep. Harriet Hageman of Wyoming questioned John Durham yesterday, using her time to point out the rotting corruption at the FBI.

She excoriated the Democrats and their deep state allies for using a lie to try to destroy Trump’s candidacy and then his presidency, noting that they knew it was a lie and didn’t care, as long as it was effective.

She then asked Durham if he believed the country could survive a two-tiered justice system.

Nothing — and I repeat, nothing — that the FBI did was designed to show that Donald J. Trump was a Russian asset. That wasn’t the purpose of the entire charade. How do I know this is true? Because they told us so. The very people who cooked this up, and the ones who ran this entire operation: Strzok, Lisa Page, Andrew McCabe, Clinesmith, Steele, the DNC, Perkins Coie.

It was never their purpose to prove Russian collusion, and in fact, from the very beginning, they knew that no such thing actually existed. They knew that the entire Russian collusion narrative was fabricated by the Clinton campaign to deflect attention from her mishandling of classified materials and destruction of official emails. They didn’t need to prove Russian collusion. They just had to keep the investigation alive.

And how has this corruption and rot manifested itself in our everyday lives? In our national culture? In our ability to solve the problems we are facing? It has destroyed some of the key foundations of this country, a foundation built on equal protection, on the belief that justice is blind, on the belief that you will be held accountable if you commit a fraud of the magnitude of what we have been discussing here today, on the belief that due process, justice, and constitutional rights are more than mere words. It has left a smoldering hot volcanic mess where the soul of this country used to be — all because a few people in the FBI decided they wanted to destroy a political candidate and ultimately a president and anyone associated with him…

Mr. Durham, here is my question: How long do you think that this country will survive with a two-tiered justice system that seeks to persecute people based on their political beliefs?

    This was Durham’s response:

I don’t think that things can go too much further with the view that law enforcement, particularly the FBI or Department of Justice, runs a two-tiered system of justice. The nation can’t stand under those circumstances.

    Watch the clips below:

Hageman was right to ask this question and Durham’s response was correct.

Democrats do not seem to care either way.

  18. BREAKING: DOJ Tipped Off Hunter Biden Before a Search of His Storage Unit, IRS Whistleblowers Say (VIDEO)
    By Jim Hoft Jun. 22, 2023 4:00 pm95 Comments

This is the biggest coverup of the most criminal political family in U.S. history.

A recent executive meeting of the Ways and Means Committee resulted in a decision to release to the public testimony from two whistleblowers. The whistleblowers, both IRS employees, made shocking revelations about misconduct and abuse of power by Biden’s Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Department of Justice (DOJ) during the investigation of Hunter Biden’s tax evasion case.

The whistleblowers claim that the Department of Justice (DOJ) tipped off Hunter Biden prior to a federal search of his storage unit.

  19. “82 years ago, on June 22, 1941, at 4 am, the Great Patriotic War began.”

“Alexander Nevsky (????????? ???????) is a 1938 Soviet classic directed by Sergei Eisenstein. The film depicts famed Russian historical figure, Prince Alexander Nevsky’s defeat of the invading Teutonic Knights in the 13th century.

People have long remembered Alexander Nevsky because of its memorable scenes, like the Battle on the Ice, and its rousing score by Sergei Prokofiev. The movie helped energize the Soviet Union with anti-German, patriotic fervor during the Second World War.”
    …….
    Context behind the film

Alexander Nevsky was Eisenstein’s first completed film in about a decade. Before he started shooting the movie, he actually was close to being exiled from Soviet filmmaking permanently.

The success of Alexander Nevsky did much to rehabilitate Eisenstein with Soviet authorities. When the movies was first released in 1938, it achieved great success and popularity across the Soviet Union. Eisenstein himself received the Stalin Prize and an honorary doctorate for his work. Perhaps that was helped by him writing a newspaper op-ed likening Stalin to Nevsky.

Anyhow, the film did have its setbacks as well. After the August 23rd, 1939 signing of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, it was taken out of circulation. The film costumes’ obvious references to the contemporary German -including swastikas and Prussian-style helmets – were deemed to endanger this non-aggression pact with Nazi Germany.

However, within a few short years, the film made a roaring comeback with the beginning of Operation Barbarossa on June 22nd, 1941. The way in which the common of people of Novgorod came together to defeat the invading Teutons was seen as a worthy example of Soviet values. As a result, Soviet authorities started creating and distributing many propaganda posters comparing Nevsky’s triumph with the Red Army’s fight with the Nazis.

Poster: “Whoever comes to use with the sword, will die by the sword!”

Largest land offensive in human history: > 10 million combatants.

From the Soviet angle, 1965: Ordinary Fascism

The film is based entirely on documentary filming by cinematographers and photographers from Germany, the Soviet Union, America, Italy, England and other countries, on authentic documents from numerous historical archives. The entire film is accompanied by a voiceover of filmmaker Mikhail Romm. With anger and pain, with deep sadness, and sometimes with a murderous irony he comments on events, reflects on the dictatorship and dictators, on the crowd submitting to them and deifying them, communicating with the viewer in confidence. With his outstanding film, M. Romm opened a new path in the development of documentary cinema.
