Note: There is a folk tale in the Canada’s capital region about Henry Hudson, the explorer, and his son. In June 1611, while trying to find The Northwest Passage through what is now known as Hudson’s Bay and James’ Bay (hugging the shore in the process), Hudson faced a mutiny, lost, he, his young son and a handful of others were dispatched off the ship (The Discovery, if memory serves me right) in a life boat, and were never heard from again…or, were they?
There was a shelter found on the shores of James’ Bay that has been hypothesized by anthropologists to have been built by Hudson and his men.
In an area just North of Canada’s capital, in the environs of Deep River and Chalk River, there is a mysterious, moss covered stone with and unexplained carving in it: Hudson’s initials and a date that might correspond with his potential presence there at that time.
What is even more interesting is that when the first European explorers, the Voyageurs, made contact with the Natives in those environs, they have recorded that the Natives had a young European slave boy…
Perhaps Hudson’s son?

Texas State Police have officially identified the man responsible for slaughtering at eight innocent people in Allen Texas according Fox News.
The outlet obtained police records showing the suspect is 33-year-old Mauricio Martinez Garcia of Dallas, Texas.
It is unknown at this point whether or not Garcia is a legal resident of the United States at this point.
Garcia reportedly lives with his parents.
According to Fox News, FBI agents joined police Sunday morning and were reportedly speaking with family inside the home.
A translator was reportedly requested by the family.

Tucker Carlson is ready for an all-out war with Fox News in order to gain his freedom.
Sunday morning, Axios revealed that Tucker is planning on unleashing his loyal friends against the faltering network. The efforts will reportedly reach Defcon 1 levels.

They’re coming to him and saying: “Do you want me to hit Fox?” a close Carlson friend said. “He’s been saying: ‘No. I want to get this done quiet and clean.”
“Now, we’re going from peacetime to Defcon 1,” the friend added. “His team is preparing for war. He wants his freedom.”
One would be foolish to bet against Tucker because he, as Axios notes, knows exactly “where the bodies are buried.”

The outlet reveals Trumpworld will be involved in the effort to strong-arm Fox News to the point they have to let Tucker go. Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly may also play a role in the efforts as well.
Once unleashing himself from Fox News’s shackles, Tucker may have huge plans to enable himself to dominate the media landscape. This includes his own media empire and a possible partnership with Twitter CEO Elon Musk.
Axios has learned Carlson is busy plotting a media empire of his own. But he needs Fox to let him out of his contract, which expires in January 2025 — after the presidential election.
Axios has learned that Carlson and Elon Musk had a conversation about working together, but didn’t discuss specifics.
Carlson confidants say he also is contemplating building a direct-to-consumer media outlet where his millions of fans could pay to watch him. Carlson’s predecessor in his Fox slot, Bill O’Reilly, created a blueprint for this.
The Axis report concludes by noting Tucker’s media suitors, including Newsmax and Rumble, “have gotten more aggressive about following him up on offers.” His brand has only grown hotter since being sidelined from Fox News.

There is also speculation that Fox News is behind leaked messages to the liberal media in an attempt to destroy to Tucker’s reputation. The opposite has happened.

TIME – Italy Wants to be the First Country to Ban Cultivated Meat. That Would be a Big Climate Problem
The new Italian government, under far-right leader Giorgia Meloni, has raised the specter of a threat to traditional food values by proposing the world’s first ever national ban on the production and marketing of cultivated meat—meat grown from stem cells in a bioreactor—and is considering another on insect-based protein. The draft law, which aims to prevent non-conventional food from appearing on Italian tables, suggests a fine of up to $65,000 for violations by retailers or producers. Never mind the fact that cultivated meat is a nascent technology, years, if not decades, away from mass-market availability. Meloni’s gastro-nationalist sop may appeal to the agricultural vote in this food-obsessed country, but if passed into law, it could end up exacerbating the bigger threat to Italy’s food system: climate change.
Europe is warming more than twice the global average, and two-thirds of the continent, including Italy, has been hit by the worst drought in at least 500 years—one made three to four times more likely by global warming, according to climate scientists. Having just come through a second warm, dry winter, northern Italy is already suffering parched soils that threaten this year’s rice and wheat crops. Rental villas in Tuscany have already been told to keep their swimming pools empty this summer in anticipation of even greater drought conditions.
Animal agriculture is one of the worst climate offenders, responsible for 14% of global carbon emissions. In its most recent report, the United Nations climate agency states that slashing emissions from meat production is critical for climate action and has long urged wealthy nations to cut down on meat consumption; another recent study notes that the food sector alone could add nearly 1°C to global warming by 2100. But asking citizens to stop eating meat is a political dead end, no matter the country. Meat alternatives could offer a more palatable solution. Peer-reviewed research shows that cultivated meat emits up to 92% less carbon gas equivalents than conventional beef production while using up to 90% less land—freeing up space for the more sustainable farming practices beloved by traditional agriculture enthusiasts. It also requires less water, leaving more for crops—and swimming pools.
Banning cultivated meat and other protein alternatives before the industry even gets going risks curtailing vital research into sustainable food sources when it is most vital, says Alice Ravenscroft, the European policy head for the Good Food Institute, an alternative protein advocacy group. “The passing of such a law would shut down the economic potential of this nascent field in Italy, holding back scientific progress and climate mitigation efforts, and limiting consumer choice.”
Upon introducing the bill to the Senate on March 27, Francesco Lollobrigida, the country’s Agriculture and Food Sovereignty Minister, suggested that so-called “synthetic” foods were a threat to small food producers, the environment, Italian food culture, and even human health. Yet cultivated chicken produced by California startup Good Meat has been available in Singapore since 2020, and both Good Meat and California rival Upside Foods successfully passed the United States Food and Drug Administration’s rigorous pre-market safety review. A new report from the U.N.’s Food and Agriculture Organization and the World Health Organization also says there’s no evidence that cell-cultured food poses greater dangers than conventional meats. And the European Union’s Food Safety Authority says that cultivated meat and seafood “could be considered a promising and innovative solution … for fair, safe, healthy and environmentally-friendly food systems.”
Even if Lollobrigida’s bill is passed by the Italian parliament, it wouldn’t be able to protect Italian dining tables from future imports of cultivated meat produced elsewhere in Europe once they pass E.U. regulatory approval, due to EU trade laws. But it would damage Italian innovation, says Stefano Lattanzi, CEO of Italian cultivated-meat consortium Bruno Cell. Italian companies and research institutions have made substantial gains in the development of alternative meat and dairy products. The proposed law has sent a chill through the industry, he says, putting investors on hold and slowing the return of Italian entrepreneurs who went abroad in search of better opportunities. “I expected some resistance from consumers, but this frontal attack from the government” makes no sense, he says. “We are working on solutions for a climate-changed future.”
The proposed law is less about food sovereignty and more a particularly Italian version of a political dog whistle, designed to win support by inflating Frankensteinian food fears with spurious health claims and false threats to tradition. “Here in Italy we are fanatics with our food. So when politicians use the word ‘synthetic’—which is incorrect because cultivated meat is real meat—it is something like blasphemy for us,” says Lattanzi. For that reason, he hopes, the proposed bill may have already served its purpose—rallying the base—and will not be successful in parliament, where the opposition is already gearing up to block its passage. But the proposal has strong support from Coldiretti, Italy’s 1.7 million-strong farmer’s association, despite the fact that drought is far more a threat than the distant proposition of cultivated meat’s challenge to conventional production.
What would help the Italian agriculture industry, as well as the climate, is a shift to more sustainable farming practices and diets. But asking for radical change is less politically palatable than, say, vilifying a potential solution. That approach is short-sighted. Cultivated meat is only one of several answers to the question of how we feed the world on a warming planet. Innovators will have to work hand in hand with traditionalists to solve for sustainability. This is not the time to favor one over the other in pursuit of political gain.

Soros-funded Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx has been an absolute disaster for Chicagoans.
In 2019, The Gateway Pundit reported that Chicago authorities released text messages from Foxx revealing she continued to intervene in support of race-hoaxer Jussie Smollett even after she recused herself.
Her behavior is so notoriously outrageous, a Cook County judge ripped Foxx for employing a double standard by prosecuting a woman for allegedly filing a false police report while dropping 16 far more serious charges against actor Smollett.
In her first three years alone, Foxx dismissed over 25,000 felony cases in the Chicago area.
In April, The Gateway Pundit reported that Foxx announced she will not seek re-election in 2024.
The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office has been rocked by departures during Foxx’s tenure, but even her imminent departure is not enough to keep staff.

You want to know what’s eminently nice about “Ant-Man and the Wasp” star Evangeline Lilly, aside from the obvious?
It’s genuinely hard to discern what her political and ideological stances are.
In a Hollywood landscape inundated with celebrities who wear their leftism on their sleeves like a proud badge of honor, the relative ambiguity of Lilly’s views has been a breath of fresh air.
The actress, however, may have tipped her hand about her personal beliefs in a scathing Instagram post tearing into modern conceptions of masculinity and femininity.
“Why are we only applauding masculinity in women and villainizing it in men? And why are we only applauding femininity in men and debasing it in women?” Lilly asked.
WARNING: The following post contains language that some readers will find offensive.
“Why do we feel the need to vilify a man wearing s***-kicker boots, driving a pick-up truck who’s not afraid to punch someone in the face, but if they were a woman, they would be the epitome of cool? Why is a man who loves make-up, cries easily and stays at home to tend to the domestic responsibilities valiant, but a woman who does the same is pathetic?
“I think the truly revolutionary act is as old as time: ‘Do not judge.’ – Jesus, Buddha, Lao Tzu, etc. Let each be who they are and let us teach grace and charity above all things.”
Now, it does need to be said: It’s fair game to question Lilly’s conservative bona fides and theological knowledge based on this post.
“Do not judge” is a classic leftist misconception (or willful misinterpretation) of Christianity.
There are ample examples in the Bible of Christians being told to judge. John 7:24, Ephesians 5:11 and Luke 10:10-12 are just some of the verses that tell Christians to cast judgment in certain cases.
It’s more than fair to judge those who think, say, that up is down or that men can become women. Applying judgment on behalf of the truth is actually an astoundingly biblical concept.
But perhaps it’s too harsh to “judge” Lilly’s woefully lacking understanding of Jesus’ words.
After all, she still had the intestinal fortitude to actually say that it’s OK for men to be men and women to be women, hewing dangerously close to that “tradition” the left is so leery of.
Lilly got about half of the way there to making a vibrant, biblical statement. Credit where it’s due — that’s still galaxies better than most Hollywood elites.

UPDATE: At least nine people are dead including the shooter today following a mass shooting at the Allen Premium Outlet mall in Allen, Texas.
At least three more are in critical condition.
An active gunman opened fire at Allen Premium Outlets, resulting in multiple victims.
The sheriff’s office told WFAA that the suspected shooter is dead.
The shooter drove up his car, jumped out of the vehicle, and started shooting at people outside the mall.
The shooting was captured by another driver in the parking lot.
The Allen Outlet Mall is a gun-free zone.

FBI Seizes Couple’s Life-Savings Without Charging Them of Crime – Here’s How It’s Completely Legal

A couple whose safety deposit box was seized by the FBI two years ago as the bureau conducted a money laundering investigation into the owners of the storage company has not and might not ever receive their life savings back.
The FBI has allegedly used loopholes in order to legally line its pockets through civil asset forfeiture.
The owners of a Los Angeles-area company called U.S. Private Vaults Inc. were raided by the bureau after it was discovered they had been allowing drug dealers to launder money through the business, The Los Angeles Times reported.
They accepted a plea bargain that would see them not charged with any crimes but did allow the FBI to take $86 million in cash from various deposit boxes stored at their business. The Times reported millions of dollars more in jewelry and other items were also taken.

BREITBART – Zelensky Meets with BlackRock Vice Chairman as Globalists Salivate over Lucrative Reconstruction Contracts
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met management representatives from the globalist investment firm BlackRock in Kiev this week to discuss the formation of a massive fund for the reconstruction of the war-torn country.
In a meeting with Philipp Hildebrand, Vice Chairman of BlackRock, President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Friday that the sit down will send a “strong signal of strengthening the investment climate.”
“The details of the creation of an investment fund to restore Ukraine’s economy were discussed at a meeting with the management of the largest asset management company in the world, BlackRock. The main goal of the fund’s creation is to attract private and public capital for implementing large-scale business projects in Ukraine,” the president wrote on Telegram.
“It is important not only for our people, our society, but also for business, entrepreneurs abroad. Today is a historic moment because, since the very first days of independence, we have not had such huge investment cases in Ukraine. We are proud that we can initiate such a process,” Zelensky added.
BlackRock, the infamous investment firm backing the controversial ESG (Environmental Social Governance) scheme often likened to the Chinese Communist Party’s social credit score, said that the company has agreed to provide support for Ukraine’s Development Fund.
“It is a historic moment if not the greatest opportunity to unite the private and public sectors at a time when technological innovation can become a catalyst for further development,” Philipp Hildebrand said.
Globalist onlookers have for some time been champing at the bit to take advantage of the potentially lucrative opportunities to rebuild Ukraine following over a year of Russian assaults on the country, with European leaders, in particular, seeing a possible solution to the economic woes of their own countries by scooping up reconstruction contracts from Kiev.
Speaking from Davos at the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in January, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stressed the looming business boon of reconstructing the country, saying that German businesses should expect the benefits of a “Ukrainian economic miracle”.
The left-wing Chancellor said that he envisioned German firms being at the forefront of a “Marshall Plan for the long-term reconstruction of Ukraine”.
“Private-sector capital will play a key role here. I know that many companies in Germany and beyond are very aware of the opportunities that a Ukrainian economic miracle could offer to them,” Scholz added.
More recently, last month, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who has come under criticism from her populist base for her strident support of the Zelensky government, held a bilateral conference in Rome attended by scores of Italian and Ukrainian businesses. At the meeting, Meloni went on to call for the European Union to fast-track the admission of Ukraine.
For his part, Zelesnky has long stressed the business opportunities awaiting allies at the conclusion of the war, with the president claiming back in September that the estimated cost of rebuilding the country had already climbed above one trillion dollars.
Zelensky, who has long been in contact with BlackRock and other potential investors, said at the time that: “the general project of Ukrainian reconstruction will be the largest economic project in Europe of our time. The largest for several generations.”

Ukraine on Saturday hailed the return of 45 Azov battalion fighters captured during the battle for Mariupol while Russia said three of its pilots had been released by Kiev, but neither side gave a full account of the apparent prisoner swap.
The freed Ukrainian prisoners included 42 men and three women from the Azov battalion, said Andriy Yermak, the head of President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s office.
Azov battalion fighters, who did much of the fighting in the failed defence of the port city of Mariupol, have been lionized as heroes by many Ukrainians but are widely vilified in Russia.
“Excellent news on this sunny day. We are returning home 45 of our people. Thirty-five privates and sergeants, 10 officers,” Yermak said on the telegram app in a post that did not mention the release of Russian prisoners.
The Russian Defence Ministry said in a statement that three pilots had been returned and were being provided with medical and psychological assistance.
“As a result of a difficult negotiation process, three Russian pilots of the Russian Aerospace Forces, who had been in mortal danger while in captivity, were returned from Kyiv-controlled territory,” said the statement, which did not mention the 45 Ukrainian prisoners. There were no reports on Russian state media of additional Russian prisoner releases.
Ukraine’s military intelligence agency, which coordinates prisoner exchanges with Russia, did not immediately respond to a request for more details.
Moscow and Kyiv have agreed a number prisoner exchanges since Russia’s full-scale invasion in February last year.
Russia says it launched its “special military operation” to counter a threat from Kyiv’s relations with the West, while Ukraine and its Western partners say it was an unprovoked land grab.

Russian jet intercepts Polish plane over Black Sea
A Russian fighter jet intercepted a Polish plane on patrol for the EU’s border agency over the Black Sea, causing the pilots to temporarily lose control of the aircraft, Warsaw said Sunday.
According to Poland’s border force, the Russian Sukhoi Su-35 plane did not make radio contact before carrying out “aggressive and dangerous maneuvers, approaching the border guard plane three times without keeping to the required safety distance.”
The Polish plane, an L-410 Turbolet, experienced turbulence and the crew temporarily “lost control of the aircraft and lost altitude,” the border force said.
It added the Russian plane flew just in front of the nose of the aircraft and crossed its path at a distance of “around five meters” (16 feet).
Government spokesman Piotr Muller told Polish television it was a “planned provocation by Russia.”
Late Saturday, Romania’s defense ministry, which first reported the move, condemned Moscow’s “aggressive and dangerous” behavior.
Romania said the Polish plane was on a routine Frontex patrol with Romanian border police Friday when it was intercepted.
The Polish aircraft landed safely in Romania afterwards.
Romanian and Spanish planes were put on “pre-alert” by NATO, the Romanian statement added.
It took place “in international airspace over the Black Sea,” around 60 kilometers (37 miles) east of Romania’s airspace, said the ministry.
“This incident is further evidence of the provocative approach of the Russian Federation in the Black Sea,” said Bucharest.
The European border agency Frontex did not immediately respond when contacted by AFP.
The Polish plane has been deployed in Romania from April 19 and is due to stay there until May 17, part of a Frontex operation organized by Romania that also includes Spain and Sweden.

7 dead after car runs into pedestrians in Brownsville, Texas, alleged driver arrested
A male suspect is in custody.
Seven people are dead in Brownsville, Texas, after a car ran into pedestrians Sunday morning.
The crash occurred at 8:30 a.m. near the Ozanam Center in Brownsville, a representative from the Brownsville Police Department told ABC News.
In addition to those who died, up to six people are being treated for serious and minor injuries at the hospital, according to police.
Police have a male suspect in custody, authorities said.
The driver is in the hospital being treated and under 24-hour guard watch, police said. Tests are currently being performed to check for alcohol and drug use, police said.
Investigators did not comment on a possible motive or whether the crash was intentional.

On Sunday morning, a car slammed into pedestrians in Brownsville, Texas, killing seven people, ABC reported.
The incident occurred about 8:30 in the morning in front of the Ozanam Center, a shelter for illegal aliens and the homeless, at the intersection of Minnesota Road and North Bernal Road.
The vehicle reportedly drove up on the curb in front of a bus stop where a group of individuals believed to be migrants were waiting.

According to Lt. Martin Sandoval, seven people were killed on the scene, and multiple people are being treated for serious and minor injuries at the hospital.
Fox News reported that the driver of the vehicle was a Hispanic male and has been taken into custody.
According to the authorities, the driver is currently being treated at a hospital and is under 24-hour guard monitoring. Police have claimed that they are currently conducting tests to determine if there has been any drug or alcohol use.
Sandoval stated that the driver had been arrested for reckless driving. Additional charges, according to Sandoval, are imminent. He added that it’s starting to appear more and more like it was intentional.

CBS – FEB 2020 – How Jewish American pedophiles hide from justice in Israel
It’s a tense stakeout, waiting for Jimmy Julius Karow to appear. He is a wanted man and is considered dangerous. Accused of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl in Oregon in 2000, he fled to Israel before authorities in the U.S. could apprehend him or figure out where he went. Karow has been running from U.S. law enforcement ever since. Currently INTERPOL, an inter-governmental policing organization that works with 194 countries, has a Red Notice to alert police worldwide that he’s a fugitive.
Two years after he fled the U.S., Karow was convicted by an Israeli court of child molestation in a separate case. He served time and was released. Now another alleged Israeli victim has come forward, saying he began abusing her when she was 5-years-old, and continued for years.
Karow has successfully evaded authorities by moving between communities in Israel for almost two decades, and he is not alone.
A widespread problem
A CBS News investigation has found that many accused American pedophiles flee to Israel, and bringing them to justice can be difficult.
Jewish Community Watch (JCW), an American organization that tracks accused pedophiles, has been trying for years to find Karow and help bring him to justice.
JCW says Karow and other wanted men and women have been able to exploit a right known as the Law of Return, whereby any Jewish person can move to Israel and automatically gain citizenship.
Since the small organization started tracking accused pedophiles in 2014, it says more than 60 have fled from the U.S. to Israel. Given its limited resources to identify these individuals, JCW says the actual number is likely much larger.
Seewald says tightly-knit Jewish communities across the U.S. will sometimes meet accusations against a member with incredulity, and that can have a chilling effect.
“Everyone goes and surrounds this individual and supports him because they can’t believe a person can do such a crime. They take the abuser’s side and the abuse continues,” Seewald says. “They put him in another community. A few years later, he’s done the same thing and we hear more allegations that the person is abusing children. Victims don’t want to come forward when they see that.”
JCW says the majority of its cases originate from modern Orthodox to Ultra-orthodox Jewish enclaves in the U.S., but that it happens across the wider Jewish community. Because perpetrators can’t be held accountable unless victims come forward, many cases are believed to go unreported. To try to get them out into the light, JCW holds awareness events across the U.S., and offers victims of sexual abuse advice and emotional support.
Mendy Hauck decided to come forward after receiving support from JCW. The father of two says he was just 8-years-old when he was molested by a teacher at his Orthodox Jewish School in Los Angeles. Hauck says the abuse started one day when a friend brought in cookies for his birthday.
“I actually went ahead and reached for the biggest cookie and he said, ‘Put it back and you could come back by recess and get your cookie,'” Hauck said. “So after he handed out the rest of the cookies to the other classmates, I had to stay behind if I wanted my cookie, and I did. He called me up to his desk… and that’s when he started… rubbing me.”
His alleged abuser is Mordechai Yomtov, a then-35-year-old Hebrew teacher.
“I jumped backwards like a step or two and he grabbed my hair and said, ‘it’s fine, you can come close. I won’t hurt you. There is nothing wrong,’ and he did it again,” Hauck recalls.
Hauck says the abuse continued over the course of the year. He says he felt trapped, with nowhere to turn.
When the year finished, Hauck moved on to the next grade. That’s when Yomtov’s crimes caught up to him. In 2001, police arrested and charged him with committing lewd acts with three of his other students, ranging in age from 8 to 10. But Hauck never told anyone about his ordeal until years later.
Yomtov eventually pled guilty, served time in jail and was released on probation. But once free, he violated his probation by fleeing to Israel via Mexico.
JCW tracked him down and confronted him in Jerusalem with a hidden camera. Yomtov admitted that he violated his probation and illegally fled the United States, with help. He also said that in Mexico he obtained a fake passport in order to travel to Israel, where he lives illegally.
Yomtov denied abusing Hauck, but offered a general apology to his victims, saying: “I’m very, very sorry. I hope that God will help every single person who went through this. Please forgive me.”
It wasn’t until 2016, when another alleged victim of Yomtov and friend of Hauck’s came forward, that Hauck felt compelled to tell his story. He filed a police report hoping to get justice, but says the processes has been slow. For him, justice is twofold.
“I want the (LA County District Attorney) to step up their game — you know, actually fight to get him back here and give him what he deserves,” he says. “And also, I want the communities to make sure this doesn’t happen again.”
The district attorney’s office told CBS News there has been no request to extradite Yomtov back to the United States, and declined any further comment.
Red flags, more victims
Help from the community is a reoccurring theme. Rabbi Yehuda Oppenheimer knows first-hand how a pedophile is able to flee to Israel. In 2000, he unwittingly helped Karow escape.
The two met when Karow expressed interest in converting to Judaism. One day, Karow suddenly said he wanted to move to Israel.
When asked whether there was nothing at all that raised red flags up to the point when Karow said he wanted to move to Israel, Rabbi Oppenheimer responded: “I wish I could say that [it didn’t raise any red flags], but unfortunately, I can’t… He [Karow] said, ‘I plan to go to Israel, I need to go much more quickly than I thought I needed to go.”
“He said that there was something in the past that happened when he was young but nothing had ever happened since. I felt that I could trust him. So I wrote him a letter, he bought a ticket and he left.”
Oppenheimer gave Karow the contact information of family and friends in Israel to help him settle. Then one day a close friend called the rabbi.
“I’ll never know exactly what happened but something severely sexual… something happened with their daughter, and [Karow] was arrested.” Oppenheimer says it felt like “a punch to the gut. It was very painful.”
He says he carries that guilt to this day, and that’s why he came forward with his story. He has a message for other rabbis and community leaders:
“When somebody has offended in this way, the odds are that they will do so again, no matter how kind and pious and wise and nice and charismatic they are,” Oppenheimer says. “You simply can’t trust them. You have to take steps to prevent, you cannot have them around youngsters, you cannot have them in your home.”
One of the girls Karow allegedly abused in Israel is “Amoona.” She asked us not to use her real name, to protect her family.
“I was 5, 4 or 5 years old. My mother was on bedrest. My father is a rabbi so he wasn’t home. (Karow) used to come to our house. We used to play games and then it became sexual.”
The alleged abuse took place over the course of more than two years. A July 2019, Israeli indictment against him details allegations of severe sexual abuse, including rape and sodomy. She says he would threaten and manipulate her to keep her quiet.
“‘I’m going to give you a cookie because you do it so nicely.’ It’s all about the cookie it’s all about lying and it’s all about being so evil to a little child,” Amoona recalls him telling her. “He also threatened and to kill my parents. He would choke me. He would hold me.”
Inaction, even protection?
Amoona is angry that Karow was allowed to enter Israel in the first place, but JCW’s chief operating officer Shana Aaronson says the failure begins in the United States. She says there are elements of the Jewish community in the U.S. that are willing to help pedophiles escape.
“Oftentimes there’s some sort of community incentive, either somebody owes them a favor or someone in the community, let’s say an institution, has covered up for them in the past and they know that if this goes to court there’s a lot of civil liability coming down the line,” she says.
While Aaronson puts blame on Jewish communities in the U.S. and the U.S. government for not aggressively pursuing extraditions, she says Israeli authorities have also failed to prioritize the hunt for suspects.
She tells CBS News it would be easier for the police to locate and arrest Karow, for instance, but it has fallen instead on the JCW to track him down.
Israel is known as a nation on the cutting edge of technology, but Shana says that doesn’t trickle down to local law enforcement. Shana says police don’t request background checks of perpetrators arrested in Israel who have recently moved there from other countries. They don’t even do a Google search, she says.
“The general standards and protocols for investigations by local police are poor,” she says.
JCW says the problem reaches into the upper echelons of Israeli politics as well. They note that Yaakov Litzman, leader of an ultra-orthodox alliance in Israel’s legislature and the current minister of health, has been accused of preventing the deportation of a Malka Leifer, a former head teacher at a Jewish school in Australia, where she is wanted on multiple charges of child sexual abuse.
CBS News obtained an Israeli police recommendation that says there is enough evidence against Litzman to recommend he be charged himself with fraud and breach of trust for protecting Leifer. Litzman’s office told CBS News there was not any wrongdoing. It’s now up to Israel’s attorney general to decide whether to indict the lawmaker.
“It’s a good example of the lengths the community will go,” JCW’s Aaronson says. “It’s really disappointing and disgusting.”
Israeli police wouldn’t comment on specific cases but insist they take the cases seriously, and that they coordinate “closely with the Ministry of Justice and worldwide police organizations in order to find suspects overseas.”
The U.S. Department of Justice declined to comment on specific cases too but praised their relationship with Israel’s law enforcement, adding sex offenders have been successfully extradited in the past.
The stakeout
On the day of the stakeout, JCW received its best tip in months — that Karow was going to be at a clinic in Tel Aviv. They know he is 6’2″ and over 200 pounds, but he could have changed his appearance, and previous attempts to capture him have failed.
“Obviously the fear is that he’ll figure out that someone is looking for him and he’ll bolt,” Aaronson says, clutching an old photo of JCW’s target.
An ambulance pulls up and a man steps out with a bandaged right arm. He fits the description of Karow. Aaronson’s team confirms his identity and calls the police.
Within five minutes a police officer on a motorcycle arrives and they move in to make the arrest.
Karow is brought out by two officers. He doesn’t look surprised to be in custody. We ask him if he assaulted a girl in the United States.
“No,” he replies. He denies fleeing to Israel but doesn’t answer when asked if he assaulted girls in that country. He says he knows he’s wanted under an international arrest warrant.
Karow now faces charges in both Israel and the U.S.
The District Attorney’s office in Clackamas County, Oregon, told CBS News it was “working with federal authorities to secure his extradition.”

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) joined Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo.
During the interview, Rep. Comer announced that he will hold a press conference on Wednesday with Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa).
Comer said he will disclose specific Biden family bank records in a press conference on Wednesday which could indicate alleged bribery from foreign adversaries.
“Senator Grassley and I received a tip on a whistleblower. Senator Grassley was the lead in this. We reviewed documents from the legally protected whistleblower, a highly credible whistleblower that would implicate Joe Biden in a pay-per-play scheme in trying to set up a deal to receive funds [for him] and his family in exchange for foreign policy decisions,” Comer told Bartiromo.
“Now that fits a pattern Maria, of what we’ve seen with these bank records. And on Wednesday we’re going to present to the American people all the information that we’ve received thus far pertaining to bank records. We’re going to disclose many of the different LLCs, many of the different transactions that all these different biden family members have gotten from our adversaries around the world.”
“Now, we don’t believe this was just a coincidence, that all these biden family members were receiving money from this web of LLCs into their personal bank account. We believe this was done in exchange for something that then vice president Biden and now President Biden would have done. So this whistleblower is going to provide some very crucial information to our investigation, and we’ve given the FBI until May 10th to produce this document,” Comer added.
Recall, Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) sent letters Wednesday to the FBI, calling on the bureau to produce an unclassified record of an alleged criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Joe Biden and a foreign national.
According to a whistleblower, this record details an alleged arrangement involving an exchange of money for policy decisions.
Rep. Comer sent a message to the DOJ during the interview, not to indict Hunter Biden before Wednesday.
“My message to the Department of Justice is very loud and clear,” said Comer. “Do not indict Hunter Biden before Wednesday when you had the opportunity to see the evidence that the House Oversight Committee will produce with respect to the web of LLCs, with
to the number of adversarial countries that this family influence peddled in. This is not just about the President’s son. This is about the entire Biden family, including the president of the United States.”
