  4. Utah’s New Law Requires Parental Consent for Minors to Use Social Media
    By Cassandra MacDonald Mar. 25, 2023 10:15 am14 Comments
Two laws signed by Republican Gov. Spencer Cox on Thursday aim to curb unhealthy addictions to social media in children.
Under the new laws, children under 18 cannot use social media between 10:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. Age verification and parental consent will also be required to use the platforms.

Social media companies must also grant parents access to their children’s accounts.

The laws also open social media platforms up to lawsuits filed on behalf of children under the age of 16 that have been harmed by their use. Instead of a plaintiff having to prove harm, the burden of proof will shift to companies being required to prove that they were not harmful.

Cox pointed to social media use being linked to “poor mental health outcomes” for children.

We remain very optimistic that we will be able to pass not just here in the state of Utah but across the country legislation that significantly changes the relationship of our children with these very destructive social media apps,” Cox said.

According to a report from ABC News, “outside of Utah, lawmakers in red states including Arkansas, Texas, Ohio and Louisiana and blue states including New Jersey are advancing similar proposals. California, meanwhile, enacted a law last year requiring tech companies to put kids’ safety first by barring them from profiling children or using personal information in ways that could harm children physically or mentally.”

The Electronic Frontier Foundation, an internet free speech organization, has claimed that the laws violate teenagers’ “right” to privacy from their parents.

Nicole Saad Bembridge, an associate director at NetChoice, a tech lobby group, also opposed the legislation. She told ABC News that “Utah will soon require online services to collect sensitive information about teens and families, not only to verify ages, but to verify parental relationships, like government-issued IDs and birth certificates, putting their private data at risk of breach.”

  5. Fired FBI Goon Peter Strzok Issues Veiled Death Threat to Donald Trump as Leading GOP Candidate Heads to Waco, Texas for Historic Rally
    By Jim Hoft Mar. 25, 2023 9:45 am313 Comments

It’s been 30 years since the ATF-FBI siege on the Branch Davidian Compound in Waco, Texas in 1993.
The government siege led to a massacre of 76 people including 25 children.

The deadly assault on David Koresh’s Branch Davidian compound took place from February 28 through April 19, 1993, over suspected weapons violations. The ATF had attempted to raid the compound and a gun battle ensued, leaving four government agents and six Branch Davidians dead. For the next 50 days, the government would use psychological warfare, such as playing the sound of animals being slaughtered, until ultimately the compound was burned to the ground with nearly everyone still inside.

On Friday fired FBI agent Peter Strzok posted a veiled death threat against President Trump just hours before his historic rally Saturday in Waco, Texas.

Strzok, who is famous for running an illicit coup on the US president and banging a colleague in the broom closet, posted a photo of the government-led massacre at the religious compound in Waco, Texas.

Everyone knows it was the feds who were ultimately blamed for this horrible mass killing.

And, now Peter Strzok is posting this warning to Trump and his supporters.

It is shocking to see today that such an unhinged and unethical monster was sitting at the top level of the FBI!

Strzok’s veiled threat did not scare away the Trump supporters. Thousands were lined up this morning at the crack of dawn.

President Trump’s rally will be aired today on Newsmax, OANN, and RSBN.

  6. Panera Bread to Introduce Palm Scanners Next Month that Will Store its Customers’ Biometric Data for its Loyalty Program and Cashless Payment

Panera Bread is implementing palm scanners, which the company claims will make it ‘easier’ for customers by linking their fingerprints to their loyalty accounts and allowing them to use their palms as a form of contactless payment.

Panera is using Amazon’s palm-scanning or cashier-less checkout technology which is being used in more than 200 establishments in and outside the company.

“Today, Panera Bread announced its planned rollout of Amazon One as a loyalty identification for MyPanera, its industry-leading loyalty program with 52+ million members, and a contactless payment method,” the company announced Wednesday.

“The technology is deployed at select bakery-cafes in Panera’s hometown of St. Louis with plans to expand to additional locations in the coming months. Panera is the first national restaurant company to use Amazon One as both a way for guests to pay and access their loyalty account with their palm,” it added.

  7. Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear Vetoes Bill to Ban Minors From Sex Change Surgeries and Hormones
    By Cassandra MacDonald Mar. 25, 2023 8:00 am532 Comments

Kentucky’s Democrat Governor Andy Beshear has vetoed a bill banning minors from receiving sex change surgeries and hormones.
Doctors who have already prescribed children puberty blockers or hormones will have to cease doing so or taper them off if stopping abruptly could harm them.

The legislation, SB 150, bans discussion of sexual orientation and gender identity in schools, requires students to use bathrooms intended for their biological sex, and dictates that educators must notify students’ parents when and if they receive any mental health services related to sexuality.

Fortunately, the bill had passed the state’s Republican-led House with a veto-proof majority, so the governor will likely be overridden next week.

“In Kentucky, the expanded version that reached Beshear’s desk was rushed through both legislative chambers in a matter of hours March 16 before lawmakers began an extended break. The fast-track work enabled lawmakers

  8. Two West Texas A&M Students File Federal Lawsuit Over On-Campus Drag Show Being Canceled
By Cassandra MacDonald Mar. 25, 2023 11:00 am

Two West Texas A&M students have filed a federal lawsuit over an on-campus drag queen show being canceled.
The event being canceled has sparked protests from students.

Barrett Bright and Lauren Stovall, the President and Vice President of the student LGBTQ group Spectrum WT, claim that Dr. Walter Wendler, President of West Texas A&M University, violated their First Amendment rights by not allowing the event to take place.

“As a public official, (Wendler) cannot bar Spectrum WT and its members from exercising their First Amendment rights merely because he believes his personal opinions override the Constitution. They do not,” the lawsuit claims, according to a report from ABC 7.

The report states that the students are suing Wendler, the VP of Student Affairs, Chancellor John Sharp, and the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents.

  9. NYT – MARCH 25 – Stolen Valor: The U.S. Volunteers in Ukraine Who Lie, Waste and Bicker

People who would not be allowed anywhere near the battlefield in a U.S.-led war are active on the Ukrainian front, with ready access to American weapons.

They rushed to Ukraine by the thousands, many of them Americans who promised to bring military experience, money or supplies to the battleground of a righteous war. Hometown newspapers hailed their commitment, and donors backed them with millions of dollars.

Now, after a year of combat, many of these homespun groups of volunteers are fighting with themselves and undermining the war effort. Some have wasted money or stolen valor. Others have cloaked themselves in charity while also trying to profit off the war, records show.

One retired Marine lieutenant colonel from Virginia is the focus of a U.S. federal investigation into the potentially illegal export of military technology. A former Army soldier arrived in Ukraine only to turn traitor and defect to Russia. A Connecticut man who lied about his military service has posted live updates from the battlefield — including his exact location — and boasted about his easy access to American weapons. A former construction worker is hatching a plan to use fake passports to smuggle in fighters from Pakistan and Iran.

And in one of the more curious entanglements, one of the largest volunteer groups is embroiled in a power struggle involving an Ohio man who falsely claimed to have been both a U.S. Marine and a LongHorn Steakhouse assistant manager. The dispute also involves a years-old incident on Australian reality TV.

Such characters have a place in Ukraine’s defense because of the arms-length role the United States has taken: The Biden administration sends weapons and money but not professional troops. That means people who would not be allowed anywhere near the battlefield in a U.S.-led war are active on the Ukrainian front — often with unchecked access to weapons and military equipment.

Many of the volunteers who hurried to Ukraine did so selflessly and acted with heroism. Some have lost their lives. Foreigners have rescued civilians, aided the wounded and fought ferociously alongside Ukrainians. Others raised money for crucial supplies.

But in Europe’s largest land war since 1945, the do-it-yourself approach does not discriminate between trained volunteers and those who lack the skills or discipline to assist effectively.

The New York Times reviewed more than 100 pages of documents from inside volunteer groups and interviewed more than 30 volunteers, fighters, fund-raisers, donors and American and Ukrainian officials. Some spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive information.

The interviews and research reveal a series of deceptions, mistakes and squabbles that have hindered the volunteer drive that began after Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022, when President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine called for help. “Every friend of Ukraine who wants to join Ukraine in defending the country, please come over,” he said. “We will give you weapons.”

Thousands answered the call. Some joined military groups like the International Legion, which Ukraine formed for foreign fighters. Others took roles in support or fund-raising. With Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital, under attack, there was little time for vetting arrivals. So people with problematic pasts, including checkered or fabricated military records, became entrenched in the Legion and a constellation of other volunteer groups.

Asked about these problems, the Ukrainian military did not address specific issues but did say that it was on guard because Russian agents regularly tried to infiltrate volunteer groups. “We investigated such cases and handed them over to law enforcement agencies,” said Andriy Cherniak, a representative for Ukrainian military intelligence.

    ‘A Million Lies’

One of the best-known Americans on the battlefield is James Vasquez. Days after the invasion, Mr. Vasquez, a Connecticut home-improvement contractor, announced that he was leaving for Ukraine. His local newspaper told the tale of a former U.S. Army staff sergeant who left behind his job and family and picked up a rifle and a rucksack on the front line.

Since then, he has posted battlefield videos online, at least once broadcasting his unit’s precise location to everyone, including the opposing side. He used his story to solicit donations. “I was in Kuwait during Desert Storm, and I was in Iraq after 9/11,” Mr. Vasquez said in a fund-raising video. He added, “This is a whole different animal.”

Mr. Vasquez, in fact, was never deployed to Kuwait, Iraq or anywhere else, a Pentagon spokeswoman said. He specialized in fuel and electrical repairs. And he left the Army Reserve not as a sergeant as he claimed, but as a private first class, one of the Army’s lowest ranks.

Still, Mr. Vasquez had easy access to weapons, including American rifles. Where did they come from? “I’m not exactly sure,” Mr. Vasquez said in a text message. The rifles, he added, were “brand-new, out of the box and we have plenty.” He also tweeted that he should not have to worry about international rules of war while in Ukraine.

He fought alongside Da Vinci’s Wolves, a Ukrainian far-right battalion, until this past week, when The Times asked about his false military service claims. He immediately deactivated his Twitter account and said that he might leave Ukraine because the authorities had discovered that he was fighting without a required military contract.

Mr. Vasquez said he had been misrepresenting his military record for decades. He acknowledged being kicked out of the Army but would not talk publicly about why. “I had to tell a million lies to get ahead,” Mr. Vasquez said in an interview. “I didn’t realize it was going to come to this.”

    Public Quarrels

The International Legion, hastily formed by the Ukrainian government, spent 10 minutes or less checking each volunteer’s background early in the war, one Legion official said. So a Polish fugitive who had been jailed in Ukraine for weapon violations got a position leading troops. Soldiers told The Kyiv Independent that he had misappropriated supplies, harassed women and threatened his soldiers.

Ukrainian officials initially boasted of 20,000 potential Legion volunteers, but far fewer actually enlisted. Currently, there are around 1,500 members in the organization, say people with knowledge of the Legion.

Some are experienced fighters working as part of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine. But there have been high-profile problems. A former Army private first class, John McIntyre, was ejected from the Legion for bad behavior. Mr. McIntyre defected to Russia and recently appeared on state-run television, which said he had provided military intelligence to Moscow.

Internal documents show that the Legion is struggling. Recruitment has stagnated. The Washington-based Counter Extremism Project wrote in March that the Legion and affiliated groups “continue to feature individuals widely seen as unfit to perform their duties.”

Malcolm Nance, a former Navy cryptologist and MSNBC commentator, arrived in Ukraine last year and made a plan to bring order and discipline to the Legion. Instead, he became enmeshed in the chaos.

Mr. Nance, whose television appearances have made him one of the most visible Americans supporting Ukraine, was an experienced military operator. He drafted a code of honor for the organization and, by all accounts, donated equipment.

Today, Mr. Nance is involved in a messy, distracting power struggle. Often, that plays out on Twitter, where Mr. Nance taunted one former ally as “fat” and an associate of “a verified con artist.”

He accused a pro-Ukraine fund-raising group of fraud, providing no evidence. After arguing with two Legion administrators, Mr. Nance wrote a “counterintelligence” report trying to get them fired. Central to that report is an accusation that one Legion official, Emese Abigail Fayk, fraudulently tried to buy a house on an Australian reality TV show with money she didn’t have. He labeled her “a potential Russian spy,” offering no evidence. Ms. Fayk denied the accusations and remains with the Legion.

Mr. Nance said that as a member of the Legion with an intelligence background, when he developed concerns, he “felt an obligation to report this to Ukrainian counterintelligence.”

The dispute goes to the heart of who can be trusted to speak for and raise money for the Legion.

Mr. Nance has left Ukraine but continues fund-raising with a new group of allies. One of them, Ben Lackey, is a former Legion member. He told his fellow volunteers that he was once a Marine and wrote on LinkedIn that he had most recently been an assistant manager at LongHorn Steakhouse. In fact, the Pentagon said he had no military experience (and he worked as a server, the steakhouse said).

In an interview, Mr. Lackey said that he had lied about being a U.S. Marine so he could join the Legion.

With Legion growth stalling, Ryan Routh, a former construction worker from Greensboro, N.C., is seeking recruits from among Afghan soldiers who fled the Taliban. Mr. Routh, who spent several months in Ukraine last year, said he planned to move them, in some cases illegally, from Pakistan and Iran to Ukraine. He said dozens had expressed interest.

“We can probably purchase some passports through Pakistan, since it’s such a corrupt country,” he said in an interview from Washington.

It is not clear whether he has succeeded, but one former Afghan soldier said he had been contacted and was interested in fighting if it meant leaving Iran, where he was living illegally.

    Misdirected Donations
Grady Williams, a 65-year-old retired engineer with no military experience and a methamphetamine conviction from 2019, was a volunteer tour guide at Ronald Reagan’s Santa Barbara ranch when he heard Mr. Zelensky’s plea for volunteers.

“I shot rifles since I was 13,” he said in an interview. “I had no excuse to say, ‘Well, I shouldn’t go.’”

He said he had flown to Poland, hitchhiked to Ukraine and taken a train to Kyiv. He bumped into two Americans in military-looking gear. “They said, ‘Dude, come with us,’” he said.

The volunteers brought Mr. Williams to a base near the front and gave him a gun. Days later, he said, he was nearly blown up while fighting alongside Ukrainian soldiers from a trench near Bucha. Within a week, the military realized that he had not registered to fight and sent him back to Kyiv.

From there, he took a circuitous path that ended in raising money for volunteers from the Republic of Georgia. He raised about $16,000, telling donors that their money would buy electric motorcycles for fighters. But the Georgians kicked him out after he got into a conflict with another volunteer. He said he had spent about $6,900 of the contributions on down payments for motorbikes and the rest on his travel and other expenses.

He has since linked up with a new group, which he said had promised him command of a motorcycle unit if he raised enough money. So he moved this month to Odesa, Ukraine, he said, and expects to deliver a single motorbike soon.

Examples of wasted money in the hands of well-intentioned people are common. Mriya Aid, a group led by an active-duty Canadian lieutenant colonel, spent about $100,000 from donors on high-tech U.S.-style night-vision devices. They ended up being less-effective Chinese models, internal documents show.

“We experienced a problem with the night vision,” said Lubomyr Chabursky, a volunteer on Mriya Aid’s leadership team. But he said the purchase represented only 2 percent of the aid the group had provided.

Earlier this year, the Mozart Group, which two former Marines established to help Ukraine, disbanded after one sued the other, alleging theft and harassment.

    Absent Paper Trail

Last spring, a volunteer group called Ripley’s Heroes said it had spent approximately $63,000 on night-vision and thermal optics. Some of the equipment was subject to American export restrictions because, in the wrong hands, it could give enemies a battlefield advantage.

Frontline volunteers said Ripley’s delivered the equipment to Ukraine without required documentation listing the actual buyers and recipients. Recently, the federal authorities began investigating the shipments, U.S. officials said.

In his defense, the group’s founder, a retired U.S. Marine named Lt. Col. Hunter Ripley Rawlings IV, provided deal documents to The Times. But those records show that, just as the volunteers said, Ripley’s was not disclosed to the State Department as the buyer.

Ripley’s says it has raised over $1 million, some of it thanks to the former Connecticut contractor, Mr. Vasquez, who claimed to be the group’s chief strategy officer and promoted Ripley’s to his online audience.

Ripley’s spent about $25,000 on remote-control reconnaissance cars last year, but they never arrived, shipping records show. Colonel Rawlings said the Polish authorities had held them up over legal concerns.

Colonel Rawlings has said that his group is awaiting American nonprofit status. But he has not revealed his spending or proof of a nonprofit application to The Times or to donors who have asked. So it is not clear where the money is going. “I believed these guys,” said Shaun Stants, who said he had organized a fund-raiser in October in Pittsburgh but was never shown the financial records he asked for. “And they took me for a fool.”

Corporate records in Poland and the United States show that Colonel Rawlings also started a for-profit company called Iron Forge. In an interview, he said he expected his charity and others to pay Iron Forge for transportation, meaning that donor money would be used to finance his private venture. But he said no conflict of interest existed because Iron Forge would ultimately send money back to the charities. Details are being worked out, he said.

In the days after The Times approached Mr. Vasquez and others, members of the squabbling groups — Ripley’s, the Legion, the dissident Legion members and more — escalated their feud. They accused one another of misappropriating funds and lying about their credentials.

After a former ally turned on Mr. Vasquez, Mr. Nance came to his defense.

“James was NOT fake, he was troubled,” Mr. Nance said on Twitter. “He did a lot for Ukraine but has challenges to face.”

MARCH 23 2023 – NEWSWEEK – U.S. Veteran Who Shared His Ukraine Experience Accused of Being Fraud

U.S. veteran who drew significant media attention for saying he had volunteered alongside international forces in Ukraine has been accused of misrepresenting himself.

James Vasquez, a former U.S. soldier who routinely uploaded wartime footage to his hundreds of thousands of followers on Twitter, shared videos appearing to show him facing off against Russian forces in Ukraine. Newsweek was among media that had published articles citing Vasquez’s tweets.

On Wednesday, Sarah Ashton-Cirillo, an American journalist who enlisted to fight in Ukraine’s armed forces, disputed Vasquez’s accounts of combat in the war-torn country. Newsweek has reached out to Vasquez for comment via LinkedIn message.

Writing on Twitter, she said Vasquez “is not and has not been” in Ukraine’s armed forces. She provided a link to Vasquez’s Twitter account—where he had previously posted war-related content—which has been deleted as of Thursday morning.

In a series of posts, Ashton-Cirillo said she had “stayed out of it while other soldiers, real soldiers, called him out” to avoid “controversy.” She said she had met Vasquez three times, during each of which he was a “civilian.”

“It was shocking to see him say he was going on a mission to Soledar after we already left,” she wrote. Soledar, a town in the eastern Donetsk region of Ukraine, was the site of heavy fighting between Russian and Ukrainian forces earlier this year before Kyiv’s fighters pulled back to preserve the lives of its personnel, a Ukrainian military spokesperson said at the time.

In a separate post, also uploaded on Wednesday, Ashton-Cirillo said she had privately communicated with Vasquez, and that he “confirmed to me in writing that he does not and has not had a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”

UK daily star – US veteran fighting in Ukraine ‘exposed as fraud’ over claims he joined ZSU army

Former US Army staff sergeant James Vasquez, 47, went to Ukraine on two separate occasions to fight against Vladimir Putin’s forces after “collecting donations from liberal wine moms”

A US Army veteran who has fundraised thousands of pounds in donations for the Ukraine war effort has been “exposed as a fraud” after he claimed to have joined their military, according to social media reports.

Former US Army staff sergeant James Vasquez, 47, went to Ukraine on two separate occasions to fight against Vladimir Putin’s forces on the front line, once after his wife left him.

He originally arrived in Ukraine in early April last year before returning again recently, effectively live-tweeting the conflict on his personal account that was followed by thousands before he took it down amid cricitism.

Vasquez, who is still reportedly in Bakhmut now and crowd-funding money for the war effort, deleted his account after speculation that he wasn’t officially signed up to fight in Ukraine.

There has been no claims doubting that the funds he has raised have not been going to the Ukraine war effort.

Right wing Elon Musk fanboy Ian Miles Cheong tweeted on the matter: “It appears James Vasquez was just exposed for being a fraud. Never served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, or even the Foreign Legion.

“He sure collected a lot of donations from liberal wine moms, though.”

He accompanied his messages with a series of screenshots of tweets from Sarah Ashton-Cirillo, a soldier in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Se tweeted: “As a soldier in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who has to live by the rules of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who has fought and fights at the front for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, I’m done w/ lies. James Vasquez is not and has not been in ZSU.

      “@jmvasquez1974 please get help.”

ZSU refers to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in a Ukrainian abbreviation.

Sarah continued: “To be in ZSU means dedicating your life to ZSU. Not coming and going. Was James at the front? Seems so. Was James in the military? No. It is very specific. There are no special contracts with ZSU units, only Legion Units. I can’t speak for Legion but James was not in Legion.”

She said that Vasquez confirmed via text message that he had no contract to fight in Ukraine.

The tweets started a dialougue, in which some people tried to defend Vasquez – even saying he was indeed in the ZSU. Screenshots from social media and LinkedIn show that he claimed to be, but this was disproved.

She said she met Vasquez in Ukraine, but added that he made false claims about going on missions. She said “he cared”, but was not a soldier.

Not long after the controversy started, Vasquez deleted his Twitter.

Another US veteran in Ukraine, a podcaster called JD Offleash, said that Vasquez’s “reputation amongst those in Ukraine was negative long before this.”

In one of his last updates from Ukraine, Vasquez said “There is a dead Russian soldier right there, about 12 feet away from me.”

The video was reportedly filmed from a “hot zone” in Ukraine last week.

Vasquez also partnered with retired U.S. Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel Ripley “Rip” Rawlings to provide on-the-ground support through a foundation called Ripley’s Heroes after he retired from US military service.

The Daily Star has contacted James Vasquez for comment.

    • FEB 2021 NEWSWEEK – Miraculous mRNA Vaccines are only the Beginning | Opinion

Jamie Metzl, a leading technology futurist and member of the World Health Organization’s international advisory committee on human genome editing, is the Founder and Chair of OneShared.World. He is the author of five books, including “Hacking Darwin: Genetic Engineering and the Future of Humanity” and previously served on the U.S. National Security Council and with the United Nations.

The Pfizer and Moderna mRNA vaccines now being administered across the United States and the globe aren’t just providing the first glimmers of hope in our struggle against COVID-19. They are also offering an early look at how the miraculous tools of the genetics revolution will transform our health care and our world over the coming years. But unless we can develop better ways to reap the great benefits while avoiding the potential harms of our Promethean technologies, our moment of triumph could set us on a path to disaster.

Of all the species that have ever lived, our single group of hominins now has the capacity to remake all of biology. But while our ability to read, write and even hack the genetic code of life has advanced dramatically over recent years, our public consciousness and oversight systems have not kept pace. As the great naturalist E.O. Wilson once said, “We have Paleolithic emotions, medieval institutions and godlike technology.”

The new vaccines are perfect early examples of this “godlike technology.” Unlike older vaccines that injected a weakened, dead or partial pathogen to trigger the body’s immune system, the mRNA vaccines insert computer-modeled, synthetic strings of genetic code instructing our cells to produce the infamous spike protein of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The vaccines, in essence, transform our bodies into personalized manufacturing plants producing an otherwise foreign object to trigger our natural immune response. This approach will soon create a whole new platform for fighting cancers and other diseases, as well as for providing enhancements even more profound than vaccination.

Hacking our RNA, however, represents only a tiny fraction of what is coming as our new genetics age unfolds. We’re only a fifth of the way through the 21st century, but we’ve already sequenced the full human genome, figured out how to turn adult cells into stem cells, discovered ways to rewrite the genetic code of any living cell and brought down the cost of hacking genes by a factor of millions. If the 19th was the century of chemistry and the 20th that of physics, the 21st is the century of biology, in which we will aggressively reengineer biological systems to meet our needs.

This transformation was already well on its way before the pandemic, but COVID-19 supercharged the genetics revolution—just as World War II massively accelerated electronics and space travel. This revolution will soon touch our lives ever more intimately. Our health care systems will embrace personalized treatments and predictive modeling to prevent health problems that have yet to materialize. We’ll brew animal proteins from cell cultures to feed ourselves and fertilize crops with engineered bacteria. We’ll generate energy from algae, grow critical raw materials rather than extract them, store virtually unlimited amounts of data as genetic code and, ultimately, recast our evolutionary trajectory as a species.

But while these godlike technologies offer almost unlimited promise, they also come with very real potential downsides.

Every technology can be used for good or for ill. If we inoculate the privileged among us and not the vulnerable, the virus will mutate around our defenses and imperil us all. The same genetic tools used to fight pathogens can be used to create more dangerous synthetic ones. Genetic information providing insights into how each of us function can be used to discriminate against us. Powerful tools like gene drives that can be used to end Malaria could inadvertently crash entire ecosystems. Genetic manipulations of pre-implanted embryos could cross into dangerous human experimentation. In the face of biological complexity honed over billions of years of evolution, our hubris to manipulate complex systems we hardly understand could as much be our undoing as the mRNA vaccines now seem our salvation.

Awareness of these risks should not prevent us from charging forward, but it must inspire and sufficiently frighten us to do all we can to ensure our greatest collective values will guide the application of our most powerful technologies.

No technology comes with its own built-in value system. The difference between any given technology being used for good or for ill is not the technology itself, but us. If we want a future in which world-changing genetic technologies are applied for the common good, we’ve got to build it. It’s up to each and all of us to ensure that our Paleolithic emotions and medieval institutions can meet the challenge and opportunity of our godlike technologies.

It’s up to each of us because the future of our species and world is too important to be left to a small number of experts and officials. We each need to take responsibility for educating ourselves on these critical issues so we can join essential conversations on the best ways forward. We must all be informed, empowered citizens demanding accountability from our leaders at all levels.

It’s up to all of us because managing these technologies wisely requires far greater action and collaboration on the national and global levels.

National governments must invest heavily in laying the foundations for the bioengineering economy of the 21st century while building education systems that foster innovation and ensure a well-informed citizenry. While some countries like the U.K. have relatively strong systems in place for regulating these technologies, others have spotty systems—or even nothing at all. Because science and technology are mobile, these types of regulatory black holes threaten us all.

And because the worst potential abuses—from synthetic pathogens to carelessly genome-edited babies and other irresponsible applications of runaway science—have global implications, we’ll also need to develop far better mechanisms for addressing our greatest common challenges. We need a new generation of treaties, a new UN body dedicated to fostering the most responsible applications of revolutionary science and new global forums for bringing the general public, civil society groups, scientists, ethicists, faith leaders and others together in a common dialogue about how to build a better future for all. In spite and in honor of our differences, we must build a table big enough for everyone.

None of this will be easy. But the alternative of racing into the genetics age without an adequate process for bringing us together would ultimately prove even more challenging.

The radical future unleashed by the genetics and biotechnology revolutions has already begun. It’s up to us to start shaping it.

      • MARCH 23 2023 – UK – Genetic Technology ( Precision Breeding ) act 2023

        PDF – 37 pages –

the guardian – Pets could be gene-edited under new English law, says RSPCA

Act opens door to technology being used to create cats and dogs with extreme features, says charity

The animal charity has said that the Genetic Technology (Precision Breeding) Act applies to all vertebrate animals, not only farmed animals, and that it could lead to cats and dogs being gene-edited to include extreme features.

The law allows the creation and marketing of “precision-bred” or genome-edited plants and vertebrate animals in England. The government said it would allow farmers to grow crops that are drought- and disease-resistant, reduce the use of fertilisers and pesticides, and help breed animals that are protected from catching harmful diseases.

[…]“Gene editing could be a huge step backwards for animals. We do not believe this act should include animals, whether they are farm, pet or wildlife. Invasive procedures are needed to create each line of gene-edited mammals, there is no history of use for this powerful technology, and it can cause unintended changes to the genome, with unpredictable effects. The RSPCA has serious animal welfare and ethical concerns about this.”

[…]The government has said it would take a “step-by-step” approach when releasing the regulatory framework that goes with the act. It said in a press release: “While there is great potential for increasing innovation, the government recognises that there is a need to safeguard animal welfare in the new regulatory framework. That is why we are taking a step-by-step approach, enabling use of precision breeding technologies with plants first followed by animals later.”

        GOV UK – Press release

Genetic Technology Act key tool for UK food security

New legislation unlocks key technologies to improve UK food security, reduce pesticide use, and enhance climate-resilience in our crops

The Genetic Technology (Precision Breeding) Act passed into law today (Thursday 23 March), a major step in unlocking growth and innovation in new technologies, reinforcing food security in the face of climate change and ensuring England becomes a world-leader in agri-food innovation.

The Act will set in motion changes to allow farmers to grow crops which are drought and disease resistant, reduce use of fertilisers and pesticides, and help breed animals that are protected from catching harmful diseases. Precision breeding involves using technologies such as gene editing to adapt the genetic code of organisms – creating beneficial traits in plants that through traditional, breeding would take decades to achieve. This enables scientists to safely create foods that are more flexible, adaptable and plentiful for years to come.

Under the provisions of this Act, a new science-based and streamlined regulatory system will be introduced to facilitate greater research and innovation in precision breeding – with stricter regulations remaining in place for genetically modified organisms (GMOs).

        Food Minister Mark Spencer said:

The Genetic Technology Act is fantastic news for British consumers and farmers. Precision Breeding technologies are the future of food production not just at home, but around the world, and this Act will put our nation at the forefront of this revolution.

Some 40% of crops globally are lost every year to floods, pests and other external events, and this new law will unlock our agri-biotech industry to support resilient food production for decades to come.

Defra’s Chief Scientific Adviser Gideon Henderson said:

This is an important time for agricultural science. The ability to use gene editing to make precise, targeted changes to the genetic code of organisms, in a way that can mimic traditional breeding, enables development of new crop varieties that are more resistant to pests, healthier to eat, and more resilient to drought and heat as climate changes.

The Genetic Technology (Precision Breeding) Act covers precision-bred plants and animals developed through techniques such as gene editing. This is different to genetic modification (GM), which produces crops containing genetic changes that could not have occurred through traditional breeding or occur naturally.

The Act ensures that before we see any changes to market, the Food Standards Agency will consult on new food and feed legislation and produce a new proportionate risk assessment for precision bred food and feed. England joins countries such as Argentina, the US, Australia and Japan that have already enacted similar legislation, driving innovation on a global scale and helping fight the greatest challenges facing the world.

While there is great potential for increasing innovation, the government recognises that there is a need to safeguard animal welfare in the new regulatory framework. That is why we are taking a step-by-step approach, enabling use of precision breeding technologies with plants first followed by animals later.

        Further information:

The Act has the powers to:

Remove plants and animals in produced through precision breeding technologies from regulatory requirements applicable in England to the environmental release and marketing of GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms).

Introduce two notification systems; one for precision bred organisms used for research purposes and the other for marketing purposes. The information collected will be published on a public register on GOV.UK.

Establish a proportionate regulatory system for precision bred animals to ensure animal welfare is safeguarded. We will not be introducing changes to the regulations for animals until this system is in place.

Establish a new science-based authorisation process for food and feed products derived from using precision bred plants and animals.

We will phase introducing parts of the new framework. This means work will commence to make sure the commercial cultivation of precision bred plants, or the sale of precision bred food, is possible in the near future.

      • Italy bans insect flour from its pasta despite the eco buzz

The growing use in cooking of flour made from crickets, locusts and insect larvae has met fierce opposition in Italy, where the government is to ban its use in pizza and pasta and segregate it on supermarket shelves.

In a sign of fear that insects might be associated with Italian cuisine, three government ministers called a press conference in Rome to announce four decrees aimed at a crackdown. “It’s fundamental that these flours are not confused with food made in Italy,” Francesco Lollobrigida, the agriculture minister, said.

+Packed with vitamins, proteins and minerals, flour made from crickets is increasingly seen as an ecological way to obtain nutrients, and the market is forecast to reach $3.5 billion by 2029.

The EU has already authorised foods made from crickets, locusts and the darkling beetle larva. In January mealworm larvae was added to the list.

All four insects are cited in the Italian decrees, which will require any products containing them to be labelled with large lettering and displayed separately from other foods.

“Whoever wants to eat these products can, but those who don’t, and I imagine that will be most Italians, will be able to choose,” Lollobrigida said.

Orazio Schillaci, the health minister, said the legislation would also ban the use of insect flours in “typical” Italian products like pizza and pasta.

In a further attempt to promote Italian food, the government announced on Thursday that it would propose the inclusion of Italy’s cuisine on Unesco’s world heritage list.

  11. Here is the URL ( ) of a report that the Wagner Group has had a falling out with Putin. Supposedly they are forbidden from getting any new recruits from the prisons, and are having trouble getting ammo resupplies when they need them.

The report (sounds like pro Ukraine propaganda ) also says that Putin is worried that Yevgeny Prigozhin will use his private army to stage a coup and seize control of Russia. While this is a danger when you use mercenaries that are a large sized organized military unit. (Wagner Group is suppose to have between 20,000 and 60,000 people. The number of contractors being between 1,000 and 20,000 with between 20,000 and 50,000 criminals recruited from the prisons) It is hard to see how Yevgeny Prigozhin could move enough contractors into position to seize control of Russia.

As to Putin denying Yevgeny Prigozhin permission to recruite more people from the prisons the Wagner Group won’t be useful on the battlefield if they are denied permission to replace the combat losses.

As with all of the reports coming from that war we will have to wait and see what the truth is.

For some history in using mercenary forces Google the French Foreign Legion and the Ever Victorious Army. The former trained their recruited while the latter didn’t, they let combat sort to competent from the incompetent, like what was done with the ANTIFA people who went to fight In the Middle East.

    • Russia pardons over 5,000 convicts after fighting in Ukraine with Wagner Group

More than 5,000 former criminals have been pardoned after finishing their contracts to fight in Russia’s Wagner mercenary group against Ukraine, the founder of Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, said on Saturday.

Wagner Group, originally staffed by battle-hardened veterans of the Russian armed forces, took on a much more prominent role in the Ukraine war after the Russian army suffered a series of humiliating defeats last year.

Prigozhin emerged from the shadows and recruited thousands of men from prisons, offering them the chance of freedom in return for serving in some of the most dangerous battles in Ukraine.

“At the present time, more than 5,000 people have been released on pardon after completing their contracts with Wagner,” Prigozhin, a close ally of President Vladimir Putin, said in an audio clip posted on Telegram.

Prigozhin said just 0.31% of those pardoned after Wagner service had gone on to commit crime, a figure he said was 10-20 times less than the standard indicators.

Prigozhin, sometimes dubbed “Putin’s Chef” for his sprawling catering businesses, is the most powerful of a group of Putin allies who now control what are essentially private armies that recruit top military officers, former spies and convicts.

The United States casts Prigozhin as an oligarch and has sanctioned him for attempts to interfere in U.S. elections and for spreading Russian disinformation across the globe.

Prigozhin, who served nine years in prison in Soviet times for robbery and other crimes before going into business during the 1990s, has admitted interfering in U.S. elections and acknowledged for the first time his role in founding Wagner.

Wagner, which has fought in Libya, Syria, the Central African Republic and Mali, casts itself as the most battle-hardened mercenary group in the world.

It dismisses Western criticism of what it says are sometimes harsh methods and strict discipline by pointing to the use of private military contractors by the United States and its allies around the world.

On Saturday morning The New York Post published an outlandish front page accusing President Trump of threatening violence against corrupt Soros-funded DA Alvin Bragg. The New York City DA is the latest Democrat to launch a lawless assault on President Trump.

The New York Post wants you to believe this corrupt NYC DA is the real victim and NOT President Trump and NOT the American justice system!

Steve Bannon did not take kindly to this latest disgusting smear against President Trump – this time from a so-called conservative tabloid.

Bannon announced a war against the “corrupt”, Trump-hating Murdochs.

Steve Bannon: The New York Post. The Murdochs, we’re going to break the Murdochs… We’re going to break the Murdochs. They are as corrupt as you can possibly get, and they are on a mission to destroy President Trump. They turned it into the DeSantis network, for months and months and months, and that’s not working for them. They understand that. The New York Post. The revered New York Post. I love the New York Post. I think it’s the best tabloid in the world. And I say that that’s pretty stiff competition.

By the way, they did an amazing job, and Murdochs and their lawyers did an amazing job in supporting the launch of the Laptop from Hell. They were the only news organization at the time that had the stones to go with that and to understand how real it was and how it wasn’t fake… But what the Murdochs have done, and this is because of the two boys, they have turned it into an anti-Trump killing machine of his political movement. They still want the people to watch the network (FOX News), and they still want the people to read the Post (NY Post), but they’re out to get Trump. They’ve got a once again unacceptable cover…

…If it doesn’t work, and I said this at CPAC, if it doesn’t work for DeSantis, they’re going to change DeSantis out. They’ll go to Youngkin or somebody else, Tim Scott, they’re going to fight this all the way down to the end… If you’re hear to save your country, saddle up!

Just weeks after Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley visited U.S. troops stationed around oil fields in northeastern Syria to make sure they were safe on their bases, Iran-backed militias launched several drone and missile attacks on Thursday and Friday, killing an American contractor and wounding at least seven U.S. servicemembers.

It has been reported the base attacked Thursday, where the contractor was killed, and six GIs were wounded, did not have its air defenses working. U.S. counter-strikes have killed a reported 19 people, including seven Iranians. Around 900 U.S. troops are reportedly based in Syria.

Joe Biden said on Friday in comments made during a state visit to Canada he does not want to fight Iran, “And to make no mistake: The United States does not — does not, I emphasize — seek conflict with Iran, but be prepared for us to act forcefully to protect our people.”

  17. SAVAGE ANGEL! Michigan’s New GOP Chair Kristina Karamo Gives Brilliant History Lesson to Leftist Media Activists on Gun Control in EPIC Press Conference [VIDEO]
    By Patty McMurray Mar. 25, 2023 1:00 pm0 Comments

She’s the future of the Republican Party.

100 Percent Fed Up Exclusive – Kristina Karamo, Michigan’s newly elected GOP Chair, is an absolute rock star. It’s not easy to be a grassroots, conservative leader of the MI GOP when so many of the top donors, who are used to having influence over party decisions, are now sitting on the sidelines and waiting for Karamo to fail at her job. They refuse to donate a penny to the new and improved MIGOP, which the new chair has promised will represent all Republicans and not just the establishment elite. Kristina Karamo has also pledged to create a more inclusive party that prioritizes God, family, freedom, and, yes, the Constitution, a promise that is driving her opponents in the Democrat Party, the media, and even RINO members of her own party insane.

On Thursday night, at a press conference in Southfield, MI, the outspoken leader of the Michigan Republican Party, Kristina Karamo, refused to back down from a mob of leftist media members and Asher Lobatin, Exec. Director of the Michigan chapter of the Jewish Community Relations Council of MI (JCRC), who demanded she accept their condemnation for a tweet she posted on March 22.

The tweet that caused the outrage mob to descend on Karamo showed an image of thousands of rings collected from Jewish men and women before they were sent to Concentration Camps during the Holocaust. The copy on the image reads:

BEFORE THEY COLLECTED ALL THE WEDDING RINGS…THEY COLLECTED ALL THE GUNS. Above the image, Karamo wrote: #History has shown us that the first thing a government does when it wants total control over its people is to disarm them. President Reagan once stated, “if we lose #freedom here, there is nowhere else to escape to. This is the last stand on Earth.” #2A #GOP

The tweet was in reference to the newly elected Democrat-controlled MI Senate, which recently passed “safe gun storage,” universal background checks, and red-flag bills in the Michigan Senate.

    Here is the tweet:

The first question was from a reporter who asked Karamo who was behind the tweet.

Karamo refused to allow the reporter to make her apologize for making a historical comparison to the dangers of a government that disarms its citizens.

The next question was from Asher Lobatin, the executive director of JCRC, who accused Karamo of showing a “lack of sensitivity” and a “lack of decency” because she posted the image, as he suggested that she “talk to other members of the Jewish community” before she shares a historical image from the Holocaust. Lobatin suggested that if Karamo used a picture of a “slave ship” as an example of what happens when guns are taken away, that it would upset the black community. He accused her of “exploiting” the Holocaust by sharing a historical image. “I implore you and the Republican Party of Michigan,” he said, “Take it down! Talk to other people who have suffered, and please, don’t offend our community!”

Karamo addressed Mr. Lobatin, “Let me ask you this, “Do you speak for every Jewish person?” He replied, “Absolutely not.” Kristina responded, “Ok, so you speak for yourself.” Lobatin interrupted, “I work for the… Jewish federation of uh, Michigan…” Karamo calmly replied, “No one person speaks for an entire group of people. I don’t speak for all black people—I speak for Kristina Karamo—that’s who I speak for.” She continued, calling his accusation “disingenuous, somewhat dishonest and politically motivated.” Karamo explained that she was “simply pointing to history,” as she recalled that one of her favorite hobbies before she became the MI GOP chair, was to read about history, and that’s when the schooling began for Mr. Lobatin and every member of the leftist media mob. Karamo ended her back and forth with Lobatin by saying, “When citizens are armed, it suppresses government tyranny, and that is all—that is my point—and to try to make it about anything else is unfair.”

The next question was from a reporter who tried to accuse Karamo of deflecting the argument from gun control to her “controversial” tweet.

Karamo quickly explained that the Democrats had completely manufactured the so-called controversy.

“I love my country! I am a PATRIOT and will defend this country with my last breath!” “I am a descendent of slaves and Native Americans—would there be any controversy if I made a historical comparison to Native Americans?”

Next up was a male reporter who attempted to play “gotcha” with “Red Flag” laws that have been passed in deep red states, asking her if she thought their laws were “unconstitutional?”

Karamo, who refuses to take part in the establishment Republican club, surprised him with her brilliant response, “Absolutely, I’m a Republican; I’m not in a cult!”

The same reporter asks Karamo if she’s had people reaching out to her and asking her to take down her tweet. Karamo explained that Michigan residents have bigger issues to deal with other than her tweet, citing “Gotion,” a Chinese battery company that has pledged its allegiance to the Chines Communist Party, as an actual reason that citizens of Michigan should be outraged.

Karamo reminded the reporter that she stood before the room as a descendent of slaves and that “3 of 4 of her ancestors were part of the Great Migration North to escape racial violence,” so she’s not really interested in someone trying to lecture her on “being sensitive” about historical events.

Another reporter tries to openly plead the case for gun control legislation in MI.

Karamo gives a brilliant explanation about the dangerous reality of “red flag” & “safe storage” laws.

Trending: Update: Prominent DC Lawyer Who Served in Clinton Administration Was NOT Killed by Severe Turbulence on Business Jet

“One of the most common victims of violent crime are black women!” Karamo told her explaining that a lot of black women, who are single women, will be forced to comply with “this ridiculous safe storage law,” Karamo said, as she explained that she sees “every human being made in the likeness of God,” and she is fighting for the “most vulnerable” among us including women, the elderly and handicapped, who shouldn’t be forced to comply with Michigan’s new gun control legislation.

MIGOP Chair KristinaKaramo refuses to accept false accusations against her for the second time by “non-partisan” JCRC MI Exec Director, who persists in requesting she deletes a HISTORICALLY accurate account of the consequences of an unarmed society. Karamo reminds him that perhaps the reason so many people are feigning outrage and offense to her tweet is that America has become “soft,” suggesting Americans have become weak, as they are essentially “offended” by everything.

For the first time in 4 decades, Democrats took control of the majority in both the MI House in the 2022 election, and since their first day in office, they have completely steamrolled over passive Republican leadership and have passed one radical bill after another.

This week, the MI Democrat legislature was laser-focused on passing gun control laws that Michigan’s radical governor, who is auditioning for the role of President in 2024, has already said she will sign into law.

When asked if she feared she would upset the donor class, Karamo had yet another brilliant response.

We spoke with Kristina Karamo last night about her vision for a new and improved MIGOP, and she assured us she would welcome donations to the MIGOP from every American and not just Michigan residents, who believe in her vision for the Republican Party, irrespective of race, religion, or political ideology. Hopefully, she will isnpire other GOP leaders across the United States to grow a spine and fight for our Constitutional rights.
The newly elected, outspoken conservative leader of the MI GOP has made it abundantly clear that she will find a way around the big donor class in Michigan who are eager to see her fail by appealing to everyday Republicans in Michigan, as well conservatives across America who believe our God-given rights are worth fighting for.

US authorities are now weighing an expansion of an emergency lending facility which could help boost First Republic bank after its stock plunged more than 90% this month amid the banking crisis.

Earlier this month customers lined up at a First Republic to withdraw their cash after Silicon Valley Bank collapsed.

This is just one of the options the Federal Reserve is weighing as regulators navigate a stressed banking sector, Bloomberg News reported.

    Bloomberg reported:

US authorities are considering expanding an emergency lending facility for banks in ways that would give First Republic Bank more time to shore up its balance sheet, according to people with knowledge of the situation.

Officials have yet to decide on what support they could provide First Republic, if any, and an expansion of the Federal Reserve’s offering is one of several options being weighed at this early stage. Regulators continue to grapple with two other failed lenders — Silicon Val ..

Even short of that step, watchdogs see First Republic as stable enough to operate without any immediate intervention as the company and its advisers try to work out a deal to shore up its balance sheet, the people said, asking not to be named discussing confidential talks.

    So who gets bailed out?

According to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, the US government is going to pick the winners and losers.

During her testimony last week, Secretary Yellen admitted that smaller region
al banks across the country will not be bailed out by the US government. Only larger banks will be bailed out like Silicon Valley Bank and their depositors from China connected to the Chinese Communist Party.

Senator James Lankford (R-OK), last week grilled Yellen on who will be bailed out by the federal government and who will not. Lankford pointed out that the Biden-Yellen plan will force Americans to take money out of smaller banks and deposit it in the chosen banks the government has deemed worthwhile of protecting.

“Will the deposits in every community bank in Oklahoma, regardless of their size, be fully insured now? Are they fully recovered? Every bank, every community bank in Oklahoma, regardless of the size of the deposit, will they get the same treatment that SVBP just got or Signature Bank just got?” Senator Lankford asked.

A bank only gets that treatment if a majority of the FDIC board, a supermajority, a supermajority of the Fed board, and I, in consultation with the president, determine that the failure to protect uninsured depositors would create systemic risk and significant economic and financial consequences.” Yellen said.

  20. House Republicans Call for Pause on Offshore Wind Projects After Animals Keep Beaching Themselves
    By Mike LaChance Mar. 25, 2023 2:15 pm115 Comments

House Republicans are calling for a pause on offshore wind projects until experts can make assessments.

Whales and dolphins keep beaching themselves on the Jersey Shore and there doesn’t seem to be any other explanation than the windfarm construction.

Democrats claim to care about the planet but don’t seem to mind the fact that these animals are being harmed by all of this.

  21. Rude Staff in District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s Office Tells House Judiciary Staffer to ‘Stop Calling Us With This Bulls–t’
    By Cassandra MacDonald Mar. 25, 2023 2:45 pm199 Comments

A rude staffer in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office told a House Judiciary staffer to “stop calling us with this b-llshit” before hanging up on them.
The staffer also claimed that Congress has no authority over the office.

The New York Post reports, “when the staffer called back a second time and identified himself, a second woman bluntly told him, ‘Your committee has no jurisdiction over us. You’re wrong. Stop calling us with this bulls—t.’”

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen any government entity respond to Congress in that manner. It’s quite embarrassing, but I don’t think anyone is surprised based on how partisan that office has become,” the Post’s source said.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan has demanded that Bragg testifies before Congress about his “unprecedented abuse of prosecutorial authority.”

Jordan had sent a letter to Bragg’s office last week saying, “in light of the serious consequences of your actions, we expect that you will testify about what plainly appears to be a politically motivated prosecutorial decision.”

“Dear Mr. Bragg,” the letter began. “You are about to engage in an unprecedented abuse of prosecutorial authority: the indictment of a former President of the United States and current declared candidate for that office. This indictment comes after years of your office searching for a basis — any basis — on which to bring charges, ultimately settling on a novel legal theory untested anywhere in the country and one that federal authorities declined to pursue. If these reports are accurate, your actions will erode confidence in the evenhanded application of justice and unalterably interfere in the court of the 2024 presidential election.”

The possible indictment stems from an alleged $130,000 hush money payment made to porn star Stormy Daniels in 2016 over an alleged sexual encounter that the two had in 2006. His former attorney, Michael Cohen, pleaded guilty to charges over the payment in 2018 and was sentenced to three years in prison.

Jordan noted that by July 2019, federal prosecutors determined that no additional people would be charged alongside Cohen.

“Now, in the words of one legal scholar, you are attempting to ‘shoehorn’ the same case with identical facts into a new prosecution, resurrecting a so-called ‘zombie’ case against President Trump,” the letter said. “Even the Washington Post quoted ‘legal experts’ as calling your actions ‘unusual’ because ‘prosecutors have repeatedly examined the long-established details but decided not to pursue charges.”

Bragg’s office responded to the letter by saying that his office would “not be intimidated” or “deterred.”

“We will not be intimidated by attempts to undermine the justice process, nor will we let baseless accusations deter us from fairly applying the law,” a spokesperson for Bragg’s office told Fox News.

“In every prosecution, we follow the law without fear or favor to uncover the truth. Our skilled, honest and dedicated lawyers remain hard at work,” the spokesperson added.

    • The problem here is the House has to turn this over to the DOJ for action. The Obiden DOJ isn’t going to enforce any Republican Subpoena. This is going to get real nasty before the 2024 election. Probably before the end of this year.

Janet Yellen is one continuous anti-prosperity horror show and the reason is obvious enough. She got her indoctrination at Yale from the granddaddy of Professor Keynes’ US disciples, James Tobin, in the late 1960s and has spent most of her years since then pontificating in academia or dictating from the Fed.

So now with the arrival of screaming evidence that the banking system desperately needs the disciplining effect of depositor flight, she comes out four-square for euthanizing the $9 trillion of still uninsured deposits in the US banking system.

  25. Rep. Elise Stefanik Announces Live at Hearing That Lead Woke DEI Official With History of Anti-White Statements Has Been “Reassigned”

Matt Gaetz’s questioning of Gilbert Cisneros, the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness of the United States, at a subcommittee hearing on the impact of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Policies, Procedures, and Trainings within the Department of Defense (DoD.)

Gaetz grilled Cisneros who seemed unable, or unwilling, to give a straight answer about anything, including questions regarding Kelisa Wing, the now former Defense Department’s chief diversity equity and inclusion officer.

Wing has a history of anti-white tweets and has authored books on ‘white privilege,’ defunding the police and BLM

I’m exhausted with these white folx in these [professional development] sessions.” Wing wrote in a July 2020 tweet, according to Fox News. This lady actually had the CAUdacity to say that black people can be racist too… I had to stop the session and give Karen the BUSINESS… [W]e are not the majority, we don’t have power.”

A new generation of nuclear missiles are coming soon to replace the Minutemen III nuclear-armed intercontinental ballistic missiles, some of which are located in Wyoming.

The old Minutemen are the land-based leg of the nation’s retaliatory defense system. The other two legs, which together are intended to deter other countries from attacking us with their long-range missiles, include heavy bombers and ballistic missile submarines.

But since their installation began in the 1960s, missile technology has greatly advanced, and the Minutemen III nuclear system is now woefully out-of-date.

So much so, in fact, that the system still uses antiquated floppy disks for some of its processes and procedures.

  30. Trump-Hater Adam Kinzinger Has the Biden Sads After the Taliban Release Photos of Abandoned Military Equipment in Afghanistan
    By Kristinn Taylor Mar. 25, 2023 6:30 pm26 Comments

Trump-hating former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) was very upset with Joe Biden on Saturday after seeing photos posted this week by the Taliban of abandoned military equipment in Afghanistan. The Taliban swept to power in August 2021 after Joe Biden pulled the plug on U.S.-NATO support for the Afghan army, forcing the collapse of the Afghan government and a humiliating Vietnam-style withdrawal by U.S. troops.

13 U.S. servicemembers and over 150 Afghans were killed in a terror attack at the Kabul airport during the hasty retreat. Biden killed an innocent Afghan family with an ill-planned retaliatory drone strike in a Kabul neighborhood.

Kinznger, a former Air Force tanker and reconnaissance pilot posted on Saturday, “This is an embarrassment. The Biden Administration will always be marked by this disaster.”

  31. Canada’s Assisted-Suicide Policy Body Surfing Toward America
Best to keep an eye on Canada’s “Medical Aid in Dying” policies. The American Left does—and they like
    what they see.

nvariably, no matter the issue, whenever the Left aims to implement a policy proposal it deems innocuous, a triggered Right declares it part of a slippery slope on the road to serfdom. Invariably, too, the Right is correct—as recent developments regarding Canada’s assisted-suicide law show.

Why should you care about Canada and assisted suicide? Well, in the first place, the American Left is constantly importing other nations’ insane and injurious policies. The Left is not necessarily engaged in this activity for subversive reasons. Often, they cite the acceptance of so-called “cosmopolitans” as evidence of the merit of these policies, because they cannot cite their efficacy. Consequently, it is wise to be wary of the international Left’s agenda and their efforts to implement it.

As we consider what’s happening in Canada, one might also recall the (paraphrased) words of my late father: “stuff rolls downhill

  33. Chuck Schumer Claims Republican Bill Supporting Parents’ Rights in Education is ‘Orwellian’
    By Mike LaChance Mar. 25, 2023 9:01 pm19 Comments

This week, House Republicans passed a bill that aims to give parents more control over the education of their children by increasing transparency.

Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer has called the bill Orwellian. Why must Democrats always engage in projection?

Parents have every right to know what their children are being exposed to in schools. Especially public schools which are built and run on tax dollars provided by parents!
