  1. As Silicon Valley Bank Faced Collapse, Leaders Were Pushing ‘Woke’ LGBT Nonsense
    By Mike LaChance Mar. 12, 2023 8:45 am0 Comments

In the coming months, millions of people will be asking how the Silicon Valley Bank collapsed and who is responsible.

What we already know is that the bank had no head of risk assessment for months leading up to the collapse.

We also know that the boss for Europe, Middle East and Africa was spending a lot of time pushing woke nonsense about diversity and LGBT issues.

    The Daily Mail reported

Silicon Valley Bank had NO head of ‘risk assessment’ for nine months before it collapsed… as woke boss for Europe, Middle East and Africa was busy organizing a month-long Pride campaign and a ‘Lesbian Visibility Day’

Collapsed lender Silicon Valley Bank operated without a chief risk officer between April 2022 and January 2023 while the operation’s United Kingdom-based CRO stands accused of prioritizing pro-diversity initiatives over her actual role.

This revelation comes after the firm became the largest bank to collapse since the 2008 financial crisis – disclosing a $1.8 billion loss in its finances.

SVB’s former head of risk, Laura Izurieta, who formerly performed a similar role for Capital One, left the bank in April 2022. She wasn’t replaced until January 2023 when the bank hired Kim Olson, formerly of Japanese bank Sumitomo Mitsui.

The bank announced Olson’s hiring in January with a press release saying she brought ‘thirty years of financial services experience.’…

  2. The Employees of Silicon Valley Bank Were Given Annual Bonuses Hours Before the Bank Was Taken Over by Regulators
    By Joe Hoft Mar. 11, 2023 9:00 pm260 Comments

The employees of the failed Silicon Valley Bank were given their annual bonuses only hours before the bank failed and was taken over by regulators.

TGP reported on the failed Silicon Valley Bank on Friday. This bank is used by numerous startups and tech companies in Silicon Valley. It’s the largest bank to fail since Washington Mutual in 2008.

We learned that the top executives in the bank sold their stock weeks before the crash. This appears to be based on insider information and therefore illegal.

CNBC reported yesterday that hours before the bank failed, the bank paid its employees their annual bonuses:

Silicon Valley Bank employees received their annual bonuses Friday just hours before regulators seized the failing bank, according to people with knowledge of the payments.

The Santa Clara, California-based bank has historically paid employee bonuses on the second Friday of March, said the people, who declined to be identified speaking about the awards. The payments were for work done in 2022 and had been in process days before the bank’s collapse, the sources said.

These actions don’t appear to be ethical or legal. This is not good and these managerial decisions are an indication of why the bank might have gone under

  3. Ray Epps CLEARLY Was Working for Somebody…The Core Claims About Jan 6 Were a Lie” – Tucker Carlson Discusses the Truth About the Jan 6 Files with Clayton Morris at Redacted (VIDEO)
    By Joe Hoft Mar. 12, 2023 8:30 am36 Comments

Tucker Carlson met with his former fellow host at FOX News, Clayton Morris, at his online show ‘Redacted.’ In this interview that was released on Saturday, they discussed many things including the Jan 6 tapes and all that transpired before and since that time.

Tucker Carlson at one time hosted FOX and Friends Weekend with Clayton Morris and Abby Huntsman. Tucker eventually went on to do his own cable news show at FOX News that is the top show on cable news. Abby Huntsman left FOX to become a host at The View, a toxic far-left morning show, and Morris started Redacted.

His guest this week was Tucker Carlson.

The two discussed the January 6 protests and media lies from that day.

At the 28:00 minute mark below Tucker started to really get into the Jan 6 files. He shared that his team asked for the files. Speaker McCarthy, who Tucker says he’s never been a fan of, provided the files. “For the record, I have been highly, highly critical of Kevin McCarthy”, Tucker shared.

Of the relevant footage, we’re not aware… I don’t think there is anyone who could have manipulated it…

The two things I know is no one got in our way… We ran all of our clips by Capitol Police before putting on TV… only in one case they said we don’t want you to show the details of this door…

I thought the whole thing was ridiculous, this security risk bullshit…

The main problem we had is we didn’t have facial recognition software. So I’m allowing for, we missed stuff, I’m sure we missed a lot of stuff. We did our best and we spent a long time doing it…

But what we couldn’t do, which is the main thing I wanted to do, is show that there were FBI agents in the crowd. And there were, the FBI’s admitted that. But it’s obvious to me they played a pivitol role.

Ray Epps, CLEARLY was working for somebody. He’s not a pure civilian. He encouraged violence and then the Jan 6 committee, Adam Kinzinger, Liz Cheney, Bennie Thompson, Adam Schiff, they all defended them, as their friend. He’s not an insurrectionist, he’s an ally. How do you explain that? It violates common sense…

The Ray Epps thing isn’t organic, sorry…

The core claims about January 6 were a lie. It’s not a violent insurrection, a deadly insurrection. It’s a violent political demonstration. One of many in the year that took place from January 2020 to January 2021…

Clearly Nancy Pelosi wanted this to happen…

Anything you’re not allowed to ask questions about is something you should ask more questions about.

  4. NYPD Officers Retiring at Record Pace as Crime in the City Keeps Rising
    By Mike LaChance Mar. 12, 2023 9:15 am0 Comments

Members of the New York Police Department are retiring at a record pace, just as crime in the city is going up with no end in sight.

The reason that the police are fleeing the departmnt is obvious. Demorats and plenty of people in the liberal media have been demonizing and disrespecting them for over three years.

The police get no respect from our elected leaders and when they try to do their job, they are accused of being racists and murderers.

    The New York Post reported

NYPD cops resigning in new year at record-breaking pace — with a 117% jump from 2021 numbers

    It’s ’23 skidoo.

New York City cops are resigning at a record-breaking pace this year as the NYPD’s alarming exodus continues, according to new data obtained by The Post.

“The NYPD staffing emergency is approaching the point of no return,” said Police Benevolent Association President Patrick Lynch.

The shocking stats show 239 officers tapped out in January and February, a 36% spike from the 176 who fled in the same period last year and a disturbing 117% jump from the 110 in 2021, NYPD pension data show.

  5. Kevin McCarthy: “Adam Schiff Lied to the American Public and Should Never Become Senator”
    By Mike LaChance Mar. 12, 2023 8:15 am100 Comments

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy recently called out California Democrats Eric Swalwell and Adam Schiff as liars, pointing to their time on the House Intelligence Committee.

Conservatives had reasonable doubts about McCarthy as Speaker, but so far he has done a decent job delivering on his promises.

Swalwell and Schiff deserve to be called liars, because that’s exactly what they are.

    From the Saramento Bee:

Kevin McCarthy: Adam Schiff ‘lied to the American public’ and ‘should never become Senator’

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy told Republican delegates gathered in Sacramento on Saturday that Rep. Adam Schiff “should never” be elected Senator in California.

McCarthy, R-Bakersfield, speaking to the California Republican Party Spring 2023 Organizing Convention, used his time at the podium to call out prominent California Democrats like 2024 Senate candidate Schiff, D-Burbank, Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Dublin, and Gov. Gavin Newsom.

He accused Schiff and Swalwell of lying “time and time again” during their tenure on the House Intelligence Committee, which oversees the FBI, the CIA, and other national security agencies.

McCarthy did not explain Saturday what Schiff allegedly lied about. In the past he has accused Schiff of lying when he claimed he did not know the whistleblower who had first-hand knowledge that Trump tried to get Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to investigate Joe and Hunter Biden.

  6. Five Women Sue Texas for Restricting Their Abortions Calling it a “Barbaric” Practice …Wait, What?
    By Jim Hoft Mar. 12, 2023 7:15 am259 Comments

Five Texas women are suing the state of Texas for not allowing them to have their abortions in the Lone Star State.

The women called the new law a “barbaric” practice. Then what is partial-birth abortion?
    Talk about twisted!

Five women are suing the state of Texas over its strict abortion laws, saying they were denied the procedure even though their lives were in danger.

The lawsuit — filed in state court Monday by the Center for Reproductive Rights — marks the first time that women, rather than doctors on behalf of their patients or advocacy groups, have taken legal action since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

According to the lawsuit, the women were “denied necessary and potentially life-saving obstetrical care because medical professionals throughout the state fear liability under Texas’s abortion bans.”

“It is now dangerous to be pregnant in Texas,” Nancy Northup, president and CEO of the Center for Reproductive Rights, said during a press conference outside the Texas Capitol. “Doctors and hospitals are turning patients away, even those in medical emergencies. Patients are being denied life-saving obstetrical care.”

Maybe these women don’t know the definition of barbarism.

  7. GOP Demands Answers After NBA Team Blasted Chinese Communist Propaganda During Game
By Bryan Chai, The Western Journal Mar. 11, 2023 11:00 pm281 Comments

The NBA’s uncomfortably sycophantic relationship with China (and its money) has officially drawn the ire of multiple GOP lawmakers — and it’s all thanks to the Lunar New Year.

To wit, back in January, The Spectator reported on how China stealthily went about “exerting its soft power” after a video aired during a Jan. 21 game between the Washington Wizards and the Orlando Magic. The Wizards were hosting the Magic at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., with the home team ultimately winning 138-118.

During that game, a video aired during a break in the action where China’s new foreign minister, Qin Gang, made his first public comments in said role.

Chinese state media shared the video across social media, and you can view it for yourself below:

Happy Chinese New Year to D.C. family,” Gang says in the video. “This is the Year of the Rabbit, which symbolizes kindness, elegance and beauty.”

It’s all perfunctory, benign stuff that anyone who has been remotely near any such New Year celebration has heard ad nauseam.

But there’s a reason that Spectator reporter Matthew Foldi — and, eventually, GOP lawmakers — described it as China flexing its “soft power.”

Anything more overt would be too obvious, especially in the nation’s capital. But gently easing propagandist Chinese messaging, wrapped up in cheerful New Year’s packaging? It’s the kind of subliminal messaging that would fly over the heads of most Democrats.

Republicans? It may have taken them until March to formally look into this, but they at least noticed something was amiss, which is far more than you can say about Democrats and leftists on most matters China.

Foldi followed up on his January report about Gang’s video on Friday, tweeting out that multiple GOP lawmakers had penned a formal letter to the NBA and commissioner Adam Silver expressing “grave concerns” about the whole situation.

  8. EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Rep. Paul Gosar Calls For Hearings On J6 Footage, Says “Stay Tuned” For Investigation and Prosecution of Pelosi, Cheney, Milley, Mayorkas (VIDEO)
    By Jordan Conradson Mar. 12, 2023 9:30 am0 Comments

GOP Congressman Paul Gosar recently told The Gateway Pundit to stay tuned on the real January 6 investigation and the incoming prosecution of officials like Nancy Pelosi who were involved in the political persecution of good Americans.

Gosar encourages all Americans to contact Weaponization of Government Committee Chairman Jim Jordan and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy to support and encourage them in the ongoing investigation into January 6.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Rep. Paul Gosar of Arizona is leading the charge for Republicans in launching an investigation into General Mark Milley and Nancy Pelosi over the staged riots on January 6, 2021. Earlier this year, Gosar tweeted, “Remember – we will conduct a real investigation into J6. The effort to attempt a coup between traitor Gen. Mark Milley and Pelosi will be reviewed and exposed.”

Late last year, Gosar also told The Gateway Pundit in an interview that the new GOP-led House will make inquiries into January 6 and the FBI’s involvement in the plotted coup.

However, as Mike Davis told Steve Bannon in the War Room, the Weaponization Committee is “structurally set up to fail.” The committee has just five staffers and a budget of only $2 million, whereas RINO former Congresswoman Liz Cheney’s sham Jan 6 committee had 98 staffers and $18 million, and $48.5 million and 178 staffers were dedicated to the Watergate Committee, says Davis.

Speaker McCarthy must follow through on his promises that the new Republican House will investigate the January 6 protests, violence, and Nancy Pelosi and what she knew.

This is especially important as newly released footage from inside the Capitol on J6 shows Jake Angeli or Jacob Chansley, the “QAnon Shaman,” being escorted through the Capitol on Jan 6. Peacefully! Back in December 2021, Jordan Conradson of The Gateway Pundit had the chance to speak with Angeli from the Alexandria Detention Center in Virginia, where he was being held in solitary confinement with real criminals, including illegal immigrants guilty of drug trafficking.

The Gateway Pundit helped raise nearly $2 million to help fellow Americans like Jake Angeli feed their families and fight the trumped-up allegations in the DC Kangaroo courts. Even leftist Rolling Stone magazine was forced to admit the impact we have had.

This week, The Gateway Pundit officially petitioned Speaker McCarthy to release the J6 footage to our research team and the families of the January 6 victims and prisoners. Read the full letter we sent McCarthy here!

When asked if Congress will hear the newly released tapes from January 6 in committee, Gosar told us, “We have to.” He continued telling us that the truth is a “complete 180” from the narrative promulgated by Liz Cheney, Nancy Pelosi, and the Democrats and that we should “stay tuned” for legitimate investigations into these two as well as treasonous General Mark Milley and DHS Secretary Anthony Mayorkas.

Contact Congressman Jim Jordan and Kevin McCarthy to encourage a well-funded investigation into January 6. “Let’s really turn up the volume,” said Gosar!

While in Washington, D.C., over the weekend, The Gateway Pundit correspondent Jordan Conradson and Rep. Gosar chatted about the Weaponization of Government Committee, the GOP’s January 6 investigation, and reparations for the real victims of January 6.

  9. MARCH 11 2023 – the sun UK – Veteran British Airways pilot collapses and dies shortly before he was due to captain packed passenger jet

A BRITISH Airways pilot collapsed and died shortly before he was due to captain a packed jet.

He had been preparing to fly from Cairo in Egypt to Heathrow Airport, but had a heart attack in the crew’s hotel.

The pilot managed to get from his room to the foyer, where colleagues performed CPR on him.

A source told The Sun: “It has rocked BA. It doesn’t bear imagining if he had suffered a heart attack at 30,000ft.”

Airline bosses delayed the scheduled flight the captain was set to fly back to Heathrow airport last week.

Passengers were oblivious to the reason behind their wait.

The body of the pilot, who had suffered from ill health in recent months, was brought back to the UK in a Boeing 787.

The wide-body Dreamliner was flown to Egypt especially for the grim task because there was no room for the coffin in the hold of the Airbus A321 jet he had been scheduled to fly.

BA bosses had the task of informing the veteran pilot’s family of his sudden death.

BA said: “Our thoughts are with our colleagues’ friends and family at this very sad time.”

Most vulnerable to be offered spring COVID-19 booster

JCVI advises vaccine top-up for over-75s, immunosuppressed and residents in care homes for older adults.

The committee has since advised that a spring booster dose should be offered to:

adults aged 75 years and over
residents in a care home for older adults
individuals aged 5 years and over who are immunosuppressed
Eligible individuals will be offered the vaccine around 6 months after their previous dose and NHS England will confirm operational details for the programme in due course.

The JCVI has advised the following vaccines may be used in the 2023 spring programme:

      -Pfizer-BioNTech bivalent
      -Moderna bivalent
      -Sanofi/GSK monovalent (beta variant)
-Novavax monovalent (wild-type variant) – only for use when alternative products are not considered clinically suitable

The vaccine offered will depend on a person’s age and local supply considerations.
Children aged under 12 years will be offered a children’s formulation of the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine.

Professor Wei Shen Lim, Chair of the JCVI’s COVID-19 Committee, said:

Vaccination remains the best way to protect yourself against COVID-19 and the spring booster programme provides an opportunity for those who are at highest risk of severe illness to keep their immunity topped up.

This year’s spring programme will bridge the gap to the planned booster programme in the autumn, enabling those who are most vulnerable to be well protected throughout the summer.

Dr Mary Ramsay, Head of Immunisation at the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), said:

COVID-19 is still circulating widely, and we have recently seen increases in older people being hospitalised.

It is important those at highest risk of severe illness do not become complacent and I would encourage everyone who is eligible to come forward once the booster programme starts.

    • CNN – Fauci claims a coronavirus lab leak could still be considered a ‘natural occurrence’

Faucism’s New Deal By Robert E. Wright

The latest batch of Fauci Files was supposed to be released on Twitter in January, but has gone AWOL, if not down the Memory Hole. could it be because they too clearly reveal face of Faucism, a type of administrative dictatorship exemplified by Anthony Fauci’s almost 4 decade reign over the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease ( NIAID) ?

faucism combines control over financial resources and information with a carefully cultivated cult of personality. Fauci’s power grab went unnoticed for so long because the stakes seemed low, just $ 400,000+ a year salary and power to direct about 6 billion a year in research funding.

we’ve since learned Fauci and his wife, who coincidentally was chief bioethicist at the National Institute of Health, earned almost $1.8 million in 2020 from their salaries, investment gains, and patent royalties. Their combined net worth was north of $10 million then, and is likely much higher now. The interest from that nest egg, plus $350,000 pension and ongoing royalty payments will ensure Fauci a million- dollar-a-year retirement income.

The personality cult Fauci built with the help of the progressive legacy media and social media censorship, was so strong that his admirers’ public adulation , of him waxed even after pubic exposure to his multiple lies, logical inconsistencies, and megalomaniacal claims to represent science.

Most impressive of all, though, was the policy power Fauci 2as able to weld through his control of NIAID funding. Only a few brave, retired, or privately funded scientists dare to question even his most strident pronouncements regarding COVID-19, because public criticism of Fauci would likely have meant getting their funding cut, which is career suicide for most research scientists. so Americans long remained in the dark, about crucial COVID facts, like infection fatality and rates, the efficacy of various therapies, to mask and vaccine safety and effectiveness.

The only other major source of pushback came from those with sufficient intellectual chops to understand what was occurring, but who were not beholden to Faucian financing.

Fauci knew that the lockdowns and masking policies he pushed were indefensible, so he reached out to other parts of the government to throttle he message of those questioning lockdowns, including the authors of the Great Barrington Declaration, or economists and policy analysts such as Phil Magness, associated with AIER, the Independent Institute, and other nonprofits , the Fauci Files promised to,reveal the extent of his throttling campaign.

Now that Fauci has finally retired, it is tempting to think that “America’s harrowing brush with Faucism is over. Unfortunately
the administrative overreach at the heart of Faucism has long been endemic in America’s national government, the disease struck hard during the New Deal, the radical response of the administration of Franklin D. Roosevelt to the Great Depression, the first One Hundred Days, the launch of the New Deal, began 90 years ago this week.

AIER formed the same year, 1933, to combat the New Deal,,which instituted a broad series of costly, nation- changing reforms in the name of economic security. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention, NIH and NIAID were largely postwar creations but they were all modeled after the New Deal era bureaucracies like the Securities Exchange Commission, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the National Recovery Administration.

In each case, the congress delegated broad powers to the executive branch then established an agency, commission, corporation, or department and empowered it to meet its general goal(s) through the imposition of the rules that soon came to have the force of law.

Courts at first tried to, adjudicate disputes arising under then administrative rules and managed to strike some of them down. but James M. Landis (1899-1964) a New Dealer, erst while bureaucrat and Dean of Harvard Law School, argued that it was perfectly fine for unelected administrators to make crucial, decisions about Americans’ Lives, Liberty, and prosperity based on rules that administrators created and adjudicated themselves.

Any problems arising from giving administrations so much discretion could be solved, Landis wrote in his 1938 book The Administrative Process. simply by improving administrative procedures, such as a vast delegation of power was perfectly democratic, because congress and the President had agreed upon the law creating the bureaucracy and also agreed on its continued funding.
Lawmakers, apologists from the administrative state suggested, would surely shut down the rogue agency that, say, routinely bent laws against animal cruelty or floated concerns over gain-of-function research. Except Fauci and other bureaucrats, like those at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), realized somewhere along the line that the US Government has grown to vast to be adequately monitored by Congress, or the 330 million people with their own pressing problems. The administration can aggrandize or enrich themselves pretty much as they see fit, especially during a punitive “emergency “.

Although federal agencies and their leaders may occasionally get a slap on the wrist, real checks against the arbitrary abuse of their power appear lacking. many Americans want to “drain the swamp”, and need to, find a way to do so before the swamp drains them of the remnants of their individual autonomy and bank accounts.

  11. MARCH 11 2023 – BBC – The Serbian who inspired US Capitol rioters, then emigrated to Texas

A man whose video inspired one of the main leaders of the Capitol riots emigrated to the United States soon after the 2020 election. The BBC has found that he and his wife continue to encourage political violence on their social media accounts, a trend that worries extremism experts.

Three days after the 2020 election, while the result was still in doubt, a chemist from Belgrade was getting emotional.

Sitting in front of a blank white wall, he turned on a video camera and unloaded his opinions about politics in the United States – a country he had never visited.

“Hello again from the Serbian guy,” he begins.

He apologises for getting emotional in a previous video: “I was afraid as hell. But now, when I keep seeing thousands of you doing the right thing, I’m not afraid anymore.”

Then, in a presage of the events that transpired at the US Capitol two months later, he calls for attacks against American elections officials.

“They must feel fear when they’re counting fake ballots. They must think about, are they going to get out of there alive?”

“Yes, I’m calling you for violence,” he says. “If that is the only way, who cares?”

    Inspiration for January 6 plan

The “Serbian guy” is chemist Aleksandar Savic. Of all the swirling conspiracy theories and emotive videos that circulated in the wake of the 2020 presidential election, somehow Mr Savic’s clip went viral in right-wing circles, catching the attention of some of the people who later led the Capitol riot on 6 January 2021.

Chief among them was Stewart Rhodes, head of the Oath Keepers militia. The story of the video formed part of the evidence in Rhodes’s recent trial, which resulted in a guilty verdict on a charge of seditious conspiracy.

According to court documents, Rhodes sent the video to a militia chat group, along with the message: “[W]e must now do what the people of Serbia did when Milosevic stole their election… Refuse to accept it and march en-mass [sic] on the nation’s Capitol.”

Rhodes told the group he was in “direct contact” with Mr Savic. The Oath Keepers were ready to follow the Serbian plan.

From a revolution to a riot

In his videos, Mr Savic compared the situation in the US to the events leading up to the resignation of Serbian president Slobodan Milosevic in 2000.

The comparison is not a very apt one, according to activists interviewed by BBC Serbian who were active in the country’s opposition movement at the time.

One described the two situations as “fundamentally” different.

Milosevic’s ouster in 2000 came after the devastation of the Yugoslav wars. There was broad-based opposition against the Serbian leader, who altered vote totals in an attempt to cling to power. Large rolling protests against his rule were mostly peaceful, albeit with notable attacks against state TV and parliament buildings.

Mr Savic, however, focused on the violence in his video, telling supporters of Donald Trump to go to the US capital, attack television stations and government power centres, and force the military and law enforcement to capitulate.

Bizarrely, he claimed that all of the countries of Eastern Europe were still socialist dictatorships and warned the same fate would befall the US if the election result was not violently overturned.

His video had a profound effect on the Oath Keepers leader.

Three days after noticing the video, Rhodes published a post on the Oath Keepers website, headlined “Call to Action! March on DC, Stop the Steal, Defend the President, & Defeat the Deep State”.

“We must all march on Washington D.C. and directly back-up and defend President Trump as he fights against the ongoing coup that is attempting to steal the election,” he wrote.

US Capitol riot tip-offs were ignored, government watchdog finds
The post goes on to state: “A patriot from Serbia, who also loves America, shows us the way” followed by a point-by-point plan based on the 2000 revolution, including peaceful protests, followed by civil disobedience, and the gathering of millions in the capital.

Rhodes then distributed his plan to Oath Keepers and other chat groups.

During the militia leader’s trial last year, US prosecutor Jeffrey Nestler told jurors that the resemblance between Rhodes’s post and what actually happened on 6 January 2021 was “stunning”.

    Moving to America

In the meantime, Mr Savic and his wife were on a journey of their own.

The couple moved to the US shortly after the video was posted, arriving in Texas at some point in early 2021, according to work history and posts on their social media accounts.

Previously, Mr Savic worked in Serbia, Slovenia and France after getting his PhD in chemistry at the University of Belgrade.

His last job in the academic world was at the Jozef Stefan Institute in Ljubljana where he worked as a PhD assistant, an institute spokesperson told the BBC. His contract ended in March 2020, just as the Covid-19 pandemic hit.

Ms Jovanovic also got a PhD at the University of Belgrade and later worked at the University of Lille in France as a postdoctoral fellow.

In Texas, she worked at the MD Anderson Cancer Center until June 2022, according to the institution’s spokesperson. MD Anderson officials declined to comment further, but on social media both Ms Jovanovic and Mr Savic have implied that she was removed from her job either because of her opposition to vaccines or refusal to take a Covid-19 vaccine.

    Talking up political violence

Mr Savic has previously said that he was far away from Washington on 6 January 2021.

The couple declined multiple requests to comment for this story.

But on their social media accounts, spread across a wide range of mainstream and fringe sites, the pair continue to post a range of anti-communist, far-right, anti-vaccine, anti-Semitic and conspiratorial content. They’ve also posted anti-LGBTQ messages and posts expressing fury about illegal immigration.

Since they emigrated to the US, they have also continued to talk about the possibility – even the necessity – of political violence.

“There will be no violence = instant defeat,” Mr Savic tweeted. “There is a potential for violence = possible victory”.

“Potential of/for violence is what built and sustained the civilisation,” he wrote. “For some strange reason, Western people have forgotten this fact of reality.”

    Impale Democrats!

On a fringe social media website, Ms Jovanovic shared several memes which appear to call directly for violence.

One showed a screenshot from a film depicting a line of dead bodies on pikes.

“Impeaching Democrats is out,” the caption reads. “Impaling Democrats is in!”

She shared a similar meme depicting dozens of corpses and the caption “WHAT OUR BORDER SHOULD LOOK LIKE”. On Twitter, she has called for the execution of Anthony Fauci and other American officials involved in responding to the Covid-19 pandemic.

While none of her recent posts are particularly popular, in the summer of 2020, shortly after a large wave of Black Lives Matter protests began in the US, Ms Jovanovic did score a viral hit with a video claiming that socialists were controlling almost all levels of American government and were planning mass chaos across the country. She argued that “tyrants” must be removed from office using force if necessary.

Copies of the video racked up millions of views across several social media platforms.

What’s next for the ‘Serbian guy’?

Although the couple refused to answer our questions, last year Mr Savic answered questions from left-wing website Talking Points Memo in which he denied inciting violence, saying that “angry people” can be inspired by anything from “books” to “rap songs”.

He said that he had been in brief contact with Rhodes, during which he repeated what he had said in his videos. And he said he had not met Rhodes or any Oath Keepers in person since arriving in Texas, nor had he been questioned by law enforcement.

Experts say Mr Savic and Ms Jovanovic are part of a larger trend among supporters of the Capitol rioters.

“Even after his video helped inspire the Oath Keepers’ illegal actions on January 6, social media posts from Savic and his wife are full of violent and anti-Semitic rhetoric and conspiracy theories about Covid-19 and the January 6 insurrection,” says Stephen Piggott, an analyst with Western States Center, a non-profit that tracks extremist groups.

“In the two years since the insurrection, anti-democracy groups and individuals continue to advocate for and engage in political violence at the national and local levels,” Mr Piggott says. “Time and time again, we have seen violent and dehumanising rhetoric accelerate political hate and violence.”

The US Department of Homeland Security declined to comment on the couple’s visa status, saying they cannot talk about specific cases, but said that authorities continue to investigate domestic extremism.

Nicole Hallett, clinical professor of law at the University of Chicago and a practicing immigration attorney, says that there are numerous security-related grounds which can prevent foreigners from entering the United States.

But once a person is in the country, she says, they are entitled to a greater level of legal protection.

“You have many more rights inside the country than you do outside the country,” she says. “It’s very possible that people are admitted into the United States and later the authorities realise that they shouldn’t have been.”

“The government does make mistakes,” Professor Hallett added.

    Scientists turn to religion

It’s unclear what type of visas the couple have, but Mr Savic recently tweeted about his long wait to obtain a US work permit.

They have a photography business, and last year launched a bible study project on their YouTube channel, offering paid membership packages ranging from $5 to $100 for different levels of involvement and direct interaction.

They claimed they were inspired to start the project by “the ongoing collapse of the Western civilisation”.

However the videos, which they called their “Based Church” series, were deleted from YouTube shortly after the couple was contacted by the BBC.

House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) joined Maria Bartiromo on Sunday Morning Futures this morning.

This was an explosive interview. Comer dropped several bombs on the Biden Crime Family. According to Comer the House Oversight Committee is working with four individuals with close ties to the Bidens. Comer says the committee now has documents that tie the Bidens to the Chinese Communist Party.

    Biden is finished.

James Comer: “It’s as bad as we thought… Since we’ve last spoken we have bank records in hand. We have individuals who are working with our committee. In the last two weeks we’ve met with either these individuals personally or with their attorneys. And that would be four individuals who had ties in with the Biden family in their various schemes around the world. So now we have in hand documents We have in hand documents in hand that show just how the Biden family was getting money from the Chinese Communist Party.”

Shelter in Place Order has been implemented for a hazardous materials incident in Lancaster City, Pennsylvania extending half a mile around Kunzler & Company, Inc., on the 600 block of Manor Street.

According to Fox43 the incident involves an anhydrous ammonia leak. Ammonia is a toxic gas or liquid corrosive to tissues upon contact.

    Fox43 reports:

Lancaster City officials say crews remain on the scene of the incident but they have now identified the source of the leak and have managed to isolate it.

In a Facebook post shared by the city, they say the leak is located inside the plant and is now contained.

Hazmat crews continue to monitor the air in the surrounding areas.

Officials say there is no immediate threat to the public but the shelter-in-place remains in effect for now.

So far there are no reports of injuries.

The City of Lancaster shared the following on Facebook:

The City of Lancaster is sharing the following from the Lancaster County Emergency Management Agency on behalf of Kunzler and Haz-Mat:
First responders remain on scene for an ammonia leak at Kunzler Meat Company. At this time first responders have identified the source of the leak and isolated the leak. Media reports that an ammonia leak was related to a truck accident were incorrect. A leak was located within the plant and has been subsequently contained.
First responders are actively conducting air monitoring in the area immediately surrounding Kunzler Meat Company. There is no immediate threat to the public and no injuries have been reported. The shelter in place order is still in effect as of 1:00PM.

  16. Red Cross Provides Maps to Illegals Sharing Where to Cross Border and Providing “Helpful Tips”
    By Margaret Flavin Mar. 12, 2023 10:30 am219 Comments

As illegals continue to pour over the Biden Administration’s broken border, The Daily Caller News Foundation has uncovered The Red Cross is sharing guides for U.S. bound illegals that includes a map to the border and helpful tips and free resources available to them.

According to Daily Caller reporter Jennie Taer, the map is “part of a packet stamped with the International Committee of the Red Cross and American Red Cross logos, shows a list of resources, including hotels, clinics and shelters where migrants can get support in Mexico and Central America.”

The map shows defined paths which take illegals directly to cities along the U.S.-Mexican border including direct routes to El Paso, Texas, Nogales, Arizona, and McAllen, Texas.

The packet also provides a helpful “self care” tips for surviving the desert, addressing diseases most likely to occur, how to safely jump on trains and how to obtain free contraceptives.

I’m sure the child and human trafficking cartels and drug smugglers are deeply appreciative.

    The Daily Caller Foundation reports:

The American Red Cross has maps and guides for migrants to make the dangerous journeys to the U.S.-Mexico border, according to documents exclusively obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The map, which is part of a packet stamped with the International Committee of the Red Cross and American Red Cross logos, shows a list of resources, including hotels, clinics and shelters where migrants can get support in Mexico and Central America. The maps include clearly defined lines leading to cities along the U.S. border. The organization also has a guide to “self care” along the journey, which includes tips on how to survive the desert and disease, how to safely jump on trains, and how to obtain contraceptives

The U.S. government tasks the American Red Cross, whose logo is on the guide for migrants south of the border, with allocating millions of dollars in taxpayer funds to support illegal migrants released into the country.

On Friday, Arizona Sheriff Mark Lamb said on Fox & Friends First, “They didn’t tell asthmatics to bring their inhalers. They didn’t tell diabetics to bring their diabetes medicine, but they did tell the women to bring contraceptives because they know that women are being raped.”

Lamb said the message the American Red Cross should be sending to illegals is, “Do not cross.”

“We can’t keep making it easy for them and telling them how to do it.”

A 177-year look over our shoulders confirms both the consistency of urban warfare’s challenges and the availability of still-relevant lessons for those willing to take advantage of what history has to offer. Our focus is the Mexican-American War, that year of 1846 in particular. The urban area is Monterrey, Mexico. The personalities include several familiar, among them future President of the United States Zachary Taylor, George H. Urbanization is drastically altering the global population distribution. With over half of the world’s growing population residing in cities, future combat will likely occur in these urban environments. Yet this dense terrain presents risks unlike any other type of warfare on the tactical, operational, and strategic levels. On August 16th, a panel of urban warfare professionals met to discuss these challenges and their role in shaping the future of urban conflict. While urban warfare is not a new phenomenon, the challenges of navigating populations, isolating cities, adapting to advancing technology, and maintaining allied relationships will force the United States to learn from past insurgencies. These lessons from Mosul, Sadr City, and Kyiv will be critical to combating irregular actors in developing cities across Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Africa, where urban, ungoverned spaces will be most prevalent.

  20. Tucker Carlson on Q-Anon Shaman: “Liz Cheney Should Lose Her Job Today. She Destroyed a Man’s Life”
    By Richard Abelson Mar. 12, 2023 3:00 pm77 Comments

Tucker Carlson spoke to the mother of “Q Anon Shaman” Jacob Chansley and his lawyer on Friday, after releasng footage showing that Chansley was escorted through Congress by up to nine armed police officers, who even opened doors for him. “Liz Cheney should lose her job today. She destroyed a man’s life”, Carlson said.

Gateway Pundit had reported on May 17, 2021 that police invited Jacob Chansley and several other rpotesters into the US Capitol that day. So naturally, he would think it was okay to be there. Otherwise the officers presumably would have stopped him.

Tucker Carlson spoke to Chansley’s mother Matha and lawyer William Shipley on Friday, showing footage of Steve Schmidt of the scandal-ridden Lincoln Project demanding to “shoot” the peaceful “shaman” Jacob Chansley:

Now we know that the Biden administration created that perception, that this man should be killed, and then broke the law specifically to destroy the life of American citizen and Naval veteran Jacob Chansley who remains in prison tonight. The question is, what happens next?” Tucker asked Martha Chansley: “What has it been like to see people like Steve Schmidt of the Lincoln Project calling for the killing of your son?”

“What has it been like – that is an awful thing to say, it is horrible,” Martha Chansley told Tucker, “for someone who just walked through open doors.”

When asked how she feels to know the United States government and President Biden’s administration “hid evidence” that may be considered exculpatory in his case, Chansley said it is very “upsetting. It should have come out two years ago. He’s an innocent man. Everything that [Jacob] said that he did is true — That he walked through open doors. He was escorted through the halls of the Senate.”

  21. Democrat Proposed Bill in Illinois Creates Criminal Offense of ‘Parental Bullying’ for Routine Discipline of Children
    By Margaret Flavin Mar. 12, 2023 2:40 pm184 Comments

Illinois State Representative La Shawn Ford (D-Chicago) is proposing a bill to criminalize parents who “knowingly, with intent to discipline or alter the behavior of a child, says or messages anything that would coerce the child.” The bill, which is currently pending, would criminalize the behavior as “parental bullying.”

    Bill HB0029 states:

Amends the Criminal Code of 2012. Creates the offense of parental bullying. Provides that a parent or legal guardian of a minor commits parental bullying when he or she knowingly and with the intent to discipline, embarrass, or alter the behavior of the minor, transmits any verbal or visual message that the parent or legal guardian reasonably believes would coerce, intimidate, harass, or cause substantial emotional distress to the minor. Provides that parental bullying is a petty offense. Provides that if a person is convicted of parental bullying, the court shall order that person to pay for the costs of prosecution and that a portion of any fine imposed, as determined by the court, be placed in escrow for the purchase of a certificate of deposit for use by the victim when he or she attains 18 years of age.

Ford introduced the bill in December, but there are currently no other sponsors.

Think of all that would criminalize: Yelling at your child to stop throwing food at the table. Chewing out your kid for not doing homework. Giving your child a mean look for using foul language. The list is endless.

To top it off, the website of the bill’s sponsor, Rep. La Shawn Ford (D-Chicago), says he “is a firm believer in the power of responsible parenting and established the Council on Responsible Fatherhood, which aims to support fathers and help them to become more responsible and present.”

Labeling disciplined parenting as “bullying” may be precisely the last thing Chicago needs. Only 11% of Black kids in Chicago public schools read at grade level. Just 6% can do math at grade level. That’s a parental failure, not just school failure. And crime? Can any sane person deny that Chicago’s crime epidemic stems in part from parents who don’t discipline?

In 2021, Ford resigned from the board of trustees at Loretto Hospital over how it handled vaccine distribution to people not yet eligible for the vaccine.

  23. Woke MSNBC’s Zeeshan Aleem Bemoans Oscar Nominations for Top Gun: Maverick Because it Shows US Military as “Beacon of Virtue”
    By Margaret Flavin Mar. 12, 2023 12:40 pm266 Comments

Woke MSNBC’s Zeeshan Aleem is not happy with the six Oscar nominations Top Gun: Maverick received. In fact, he hopes it “tanks at the Oscars.”

In a column for MSNBC, Aleem calls the movie “insidious” because of the depiction of the military as a “beacon of virtue.”

    He writes:

But “Top Gun” is as insidious as it is entertaining. It does not merely revive a forgotten human-centered spectacle; it also beckons for a return to accepting the American war machine as a beacon of virtue and excitement. It’s a poisonous kind of nostalgia, one that smuggles love of endless war into a celebration of live action.

Top Gun” is literal propaganda: In exchange for access to military aircraft, the producers of the movie agreed to allow the Defense Department to include its own “key talking points” in the script. Perhaps equally important, the script had to be written in a manner that flatters the military in order to secure the buy-in of the Pentagon. (Even then, defense officials requested “revisions” to the characters and their actions.) This collaboration in jingoism is evident throughout the script. The minor rebellions of Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, played by Cruise, against his higher-ups in the military are minor diversions from his obedience to the logic of empire. It should be no surprise that just like with the first “Top Gun” movie, released in 1986, the military viewed the sequel as a promising recruitment tool, and ran U.S. Air Force ads before showings of the movie with imperialistic lines like “the entire sky belongs to us.” While the first movie helped rehab the military’s poor reputation in the wake of the Vietnam War, this one diverts from the failed war on terror, and comes as defense officials eye the rise of China.

I don’t object to anyone’s enjoyment of the film, but I hope it tanks at the Oscars. It’s possible to make thrilling action without so brazenly priming the public for warfare.

Aleem couldn’t take the blowback he received for his woke, whiny column. He used the left’s favorite smear when they are called out on their disgusting behavior. Those who disagree with him are Nazis.

Lawmakers in the state of Oregon are considering legislation which would mandate the teaching of climate change in public schools.

The only other state that is already doing this is the solidly blue state of Connecticut in liberal New England.

Public schools across the country are struggling with students who can barely read or do basic math but advancing the left’s political agenda on claimte change is being given special attention in blue Oregon.

Oregon eyes mandate for climate change lessons in schools

Oregon lawmakers are aiming to make the state the second in the nation to mandate climate change lessons for K-12 public school students, further fueling U.S. culture wars in education.

Dozens of Oregon high schoolers submitted support of the bill, saying they care about climate change deeply. Some teachers and parents say teaching climate change could help the next generation better confront it, but others want schools to focus on reading, writing and math after test scores plummeted post-pandemic.

Schools across the U.S. have found themselves at the center of a politically charged battle over curriculum and how matters such as gender, sex education and race should be taught — or whether they should be taught at all.

One of the bill’s chief sponsors, Democratic Sen. James Manning, said even elementary students have told him climate change is important to them

We’re talking about third and fourth graders having a vision to understand how this world is changing rapidly,” he said at a Thursday state Capitol hearing in Salem.

Connecticut has the only U.S. state law requiring climate change instruction, and it’s possibly the first time such a bill has been introduced in Oregon, according to legislative researchers. Lawmakers in California and New York are considering similar bills.

Manning’s bill requires every Oregon school district to develop climate change curriculum within three years, addressing ecological, societal, cultural, political and mental health aspects of climate change.

This is a recipe for disaster.

Schools should be focusing on the basics of reading and math but this is more important to them.

Is there any wonder why so many people are pulling their kids out of public schools?

  25. Iran arrests more than 100 people in connection to schoolgirl poisonings

Take the news with a big grain of salt because it comes from IRNA, the state-run news agency. It is being reported that Iran has arrested more than 100 people in connection to the serial poisoning of schoolgirls in that country. Iran’s Interior Ministry released a statement that the people connected to the poisonings had been “identified, arrested, and investigated” in several cities, including the capital Tehran.

Initial inquiries show that a number of these people, out of mischief or adventurism and with the aim of shutting down classrooms and influenced by the created psychological atmosphere, have taken measures such as using harmless and smelly substances,” the statement read.

The problem with that statement is that it indicates the Iranian government isn’t taking the poisoning of thousands of schoolgirls seriously. That isn’t surprising, though, since it is likely that the regime is behind it all anyway. The poisonings are meant to intimidate the girls from organizing and participating in anti-regime protests. The protests began after the death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Kurdish-Iranian woman, who was accused of violating the dress code by the morality police. She was arrested, beaten by police, and died in jail. They have been organized and led by women and students throughout the country, not just in Tehran. The regime is increasingly showing frustration at its inability to completely tamp down the protest movement.

The poisonings have not been just cases of mischief. The consequences of the poisoning on its victims have been substantial in many cases. Girls have been hospitalized for medical care in response to the attacks. “Mischief” sounds benign, like toilet papering a classmate’s yard, or other juvenile pranks. Whether or not the attacks are successful, they are nefarious by nature. They are conducted by men who are trying to shut down the protests against the regime, doing the bidding of the regime. The regime pretends as though it is outraged by the attacks.

  26. Light Sentences For Antisemitic Attacks Set A Dangerous Precedent, Experts Warn
By Daily Caller News Foundation March 12, 2023

    By Kate Anderson
Jewish communities have raised concerns about light sentencing offered to defendants charged with hate crimes, and leading policy and human rights experts that spoke with the Daily Caller News Foundation argue that lower sentences may embolden future attacks.
The FBI’s 2021 hate crime report did not include statistics from major cities with high Jewish populations such as New York City, Miami and Los Angeles, leading to heavy criticism from Jewish organizations.
“The fact that prosecutors are cutting deals with unrepentant antisemites while judges aren’t imposing anywhere near the maximum sentence indicates how far the justice system must go to take antisemitic crimes seriously,” StopAntisemitism Executive Director Liora Rez said in a statement to the Daily Caller News Foundation.
Leading policy and human rights experts that spoke with the Daily Caller News Foundation have raised concerns about light sentencing and plea deals offered to defendants charged with antisemitic hate crimes, warning it may embolden future attacks.

The purpose of hate crime enhancements, and hate crime charges in general, is primarily to recognize that there is an additional harm when the defendant is bias-motivated, so being punched while called a slur is worse than just being punched and the sentence should reflect that,” Lehman said. “I agree with the sentiment, I think that minimal charges for hate crimes are ineffective deterrents, the guy is going to be back on the street in six months.”

A recent report from Americans Against Antisemitism found that, between 2018 and 2022, only two individuals who were accused of antisemitic hate crimes were given prison sentences in New York City, and less than 10 out of 194 were convicted. In another recent case, Saadah Masoud was given an 18-month prison sentence and three years of supervised release for attacking at least three Jews that were wearing recognizable Jewish and Israeli symbols from 2021 to 2022, according to the Department of Justice.

“The fact that prosecutors are cutting deals with unrepentant antisemites while judges aren’t imposing anywhere near the maximum sentence indicates how far the justice system must go to take antisemitic crimes seriously,” StopAntisemitism Executive Director Liora Rez said in a statement to the DCNF.

Anti-GMO activists are starving the people of Kenya
By Hans Bader March 7, 2023
Anti-GMO activists are starving the people of Kenya

Kenya wants its farmers to grow pest-resistant, drought-tolerant corn, as pests devour much of its corn crop, and Kenya faces its worst drought in over 40 years. For five years, drought has decimated Kenya’s corn crop. For eight years, fall armyworm moths have ravaged Kenya’s corn crop, destroying a third of Kenya’s annual production.

So Kenya’s cabinet imported 11 tons of corn seeds genetically modified to be pest-resistant and drought-resistant last year. But this February, four lawsuits were brought over the seeds by an environmentalist group and others, resulting in legal blocks against their distribution. Kenya’s GMO regulator was barred from releasing the seeds, pending a future court hearing. So farmers can’t plant the seeds, keeping them from producing enough food to feed Kenya’s people.

Meanwhile, in Kenya’s arid north, rivers have dried up and millions of livestock have already died due to lack of food. Over four million Kenyans don’t have enough to eat, and the situation will get worse if the coming rainy season fails like the previous five. “I’ve never seen it so bad. There’s nothing in the farms, the drought is too harsh,” says Daniel Magondo, a corn and cotton farmer in central Kenya. The U.S. government has stepped in with $126 million in food aid, citing “more than 970,000 children ages five and younger” who “are acutely malnourished across the country.”

Genetically-modified crops help the environment, by reducing the consumption of land, water, pesticides, and fertilizer, and increasing crop yields. As Ars Technica notes,

Improving crop yields helps feed more people, but it’s also good for the environment. The more food that can be grown on each square kilometer of land, the less land that needs to be converted to agriculture. As you can see in this chart from Our World in Data, South Asia produces a lot more cereal crops today than it did in 1980—and all of this growth came from increased crop yields. It’s not using any more land to grow those crops than it was 40 years ago. In sub-Saharan Africa it’s the opposite story. The area is also producing more cereals than in 1980, but almost all of this growth has come from converting more land into farmland. Low crop yields mean that feeding more people comes at the expense of natural habitats.

GM crops might be one way to increase yields. In South Africa, GM maize fields produce 11.1 percent more per hectare on average than non-GM fields—extra maize that would have taken more than 2,000 square kilometers of extra farmland to produce using conventional seeds.

Kenya already plants genetically-modified cotton, which has improved its environment and its economy. As Kenyan farmer Magondo notes, his cotton crop uses “much less pesticide,” and results in a bigger harvest, than was the case before he began planting genetically-modified cotton in 2019. Using less pesticide is great for the environment, since pesticides can contaminate soil or water, or kill birds or beneficial insects.

Yet some green activists oppose the genetic engineering that creates such environmentally-friendly crops. Green activists opposed genetically-modified rice that uses less fertilizer than traditional rice, while yielding more food. Similarly, they opposed genetically-modified “golden rice,” notes Wesley Smith of the Discovery Institute. Golden rice “has the great potential to prevent blindness in children who live in developing countries caused by Vitamin A deficiency.” Scientists engineered these rice plants to produce beta-carotene. But distribution of them “was thwarted for many years, even though growth and distribution will be via a non-profit.”

In 2003, green activists in the Philippines destroyed a field trial of Golden Rice being conducted by researchers. As food safety expert Gregory Conko noted, “Golden Rice is a humanitarian project—the grains engineered to produce beta carotene to provide a needed Vitamin supplement for poor rice-growing farmers in less developed countries. Activists even tried to convince Filipino farmers that walking through a field of genetically engineered corn could turn farmers gay.”

They did this “despite the considered opinion of dozens of scientific bodies from all around the world” that “genetically engineered crops now on the market are safe for consumers and the environment,” a conclusion reached by “the U.S. National Academies of Science, American Association for the Advancement of Science, the U.K.’s Royal Society, and the French Academy of Science.”

Left-wing activists have vandalized other projects to genetically improve crops. For example, Smith notes, “experimental wheat field intended to develop a plant that is resistant to fungal infection was trampled asunder by activists who apparently prefer human starvation to a benign modification of wheat so that it will be more resilient.”

Bureaucratic agencies delay for years the distribution of genetically-enhanced crops and foods. It took 20 years for genetically-enhanced salmon to be approved by the FDA.

Left-wing opposition to agricultural advances has not been not limited to genetic engineering. Some left-wing Luddites also denounced crossbreeding and selective breeding that improved crop yields, such as wheat that put most of its energy into edible kernels rather than long, inedible stems.

The agronomist Norman Borlaug, who pioneered the Green Revolution, saved perhaps a billion lives in the Third World by developing high-yield, disease-resistant crops through biotechnology. For this, he received the Nobel Peace Prize, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and the Congressional Medal of Honor. Yet he was smeared in the left-wing magazine The Nation, which had an irrational phobia of biotechnology, as being “the biggest killer of all.”

Green activists also want to ban nitrogen fertilizer, which is essential to feeding the world’s people. When nitrogen fertilizer is banned, farms can produce only a fraction of what they once produced. When Sri Lanka followed green activists’ advice to get rid of nitrogen fertilizers, its economy and farm sector collapsed last year, leaving millions of people hungry and broke, and fields lying empty.

  28. China’s War Warnings
    by Gordon G. Chang

The world needs to look at what the Chinese leadership is in fact doing. Xi Jinping appointed what is now known as his “war cabinet” in October, at the Communist Party’s 20th National Congress; he is implementing the largest military buildup since the Second World War; he has been trying to sanctions-proof his regime; and he is mobilizing the civilian population for war. Communist Party cadres, for example, are taking over privately owned factories and converting them from civilian to military production.

In the latest move, China’s regime is establishing National Defense Mobilization Offices across the country. The Reservists Law went into effect the first of this month.

Whatever China intends, its intended victims need to match its preparations. There has never been a time when it has been more important to deter the People’s Republic of China.

Even if all this is the biggest bluff in history, the Chinese military is provoking incidents that could lead to war, especially in the tense climate Xi Jinping has created. In December… a Chinese fighter jet dangerously intercepted a U.S. Air Force reconnaissance plane in international airspace over the South China Sea.

Moreover, beginning January 28, China’s large spy balloon intruded into American airspace, then proceeded to surveil nuclear weapons sites, including Malmstrom, F. E. Warren, and Minot Air Force Bases, which house all of America’s Minutemen III intercontinental ballistic missiles….. This path suggests China is gathering intelligence for a nuclear strike on America’s strategic weapons — and shows Beijing’s utter disrespect for the United States.

Whatever China’s intentions… this cannot end well. The problem is complacency. Xi Jinping and Qin Gang, whatever they are doing, are establishing a justification to strike America — and they are making preparations to do so.

Chinese President Xi Jinping appointed what is now known as his “war cabinet” in October; he is implementing the largest military buildup since the Second World War; he has been trying to sanctions-proof his regime; and he is mobilizing the civilian population for war.

“If the U.S. doesn’t hit the brakes and continues to barrel down the wrong track,” China’s Foreign Minister Qin Gang said on March 7, “no amount of guardrails can prevent the carriage from derailing and crashing, and there will surely be conflict and confrontation.” He also spoke of “catastrophic consequences.”

The unusually pointed warning followed that of Chinese ruler Xi Jinping of the day before. “Western countries, led by the U.S., are implementing all-round containment, encirclement, and suppression against us,” he told the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference in Beijing.

These comments suggest a marked deterioration in relations between Washington and Beijing. What is happening?

“We have to not rule out the stratagem of empty fortress,” tweeted City University of New York’s Ming Xia, one of America’s most astute China watchers, on March 8.

Xia was referring to a tactic employed many times in ancient Chinese history. Perhaps the most famous “empty fortress” tale comes from the Three Kingdoms period when military strategist Kung Ming had to figure out how to repel an invader, Sima Yi, with few troops. Kung appeared on his fortress wall in a confident pose, which convinced Yi to retreat.

In all probability, Xi and Qin were employing this ancient tactic, attempting to intimidate the Biden administration into not enforcing or adopting measures they do not like.

The Hudson Institute’s Miles Yu, another leading China watcher, reminds Americans that the Communist Party is using a time-worn tactic of “Using Confrontation to Promote Cooperation.” “It’s always in the CCP’s playbook,” Yu points out.

For many reasons, the Chinese fortress is empty at this moment. Among other difficulties, the country’s economy is stumbling, debt defaults are continuing, the currency is weakening, food shortages are worsening, localities are running short of cash, and diseases continue to afflict the population. Moreover, the Chinese people are unhappy. Since late October, they have taken to the streets in demonstrations over varied complaints. Some protestors have even demanded the removal of Xi Jinping and the Communist Party.

How bad is the situation in China? Chinese people are risking their lives to cross the Darien Gap, the region separating Colombia and Panama, to walk to America. U.S. Border Patrol apprehensions of Chinese migrants at the southern border were up about 800% for the October to January period, compared to the same time a year ago.

Chinese rulers, I think, understand that war at this moment would not be in China’s interest. Yet just because they may know better does not mean Americans and others should feel assured or relieved.

For one thing, no one outside a small circle in Beijing knows what Chinese leaders in fact intend, so it is exceedingly dangerous for others to base policy on what they think China’s decision-makers are thinking. Over the course of four decades there has been far too much “mirror imaging.” American leaders, for instance, have continually told their Chinese counterparts what they should think — nothing wrong with that — but then assumed that the Chinese thought the same as they did.

The world needs to look at what the Chinese leadership is in fact doing. Xi appointed what is now known as his “war cabinet” in October, at the Communist Party’s 20th National Congress; he is implementing the largest military buildup since the Second World War; he has been trying to sanctions-proof his regime; and he is mobilizing the civilian population for war.

Even if all this is the biggest bluff in history, the Chinese military is provoking incidents that could lead to war, especially in the tense climate Xi has created. In December, Chinese troops moved into India’s Tawang Sector in Arunachal Pradesh; Chinese planes and naval vessels maneuvered near Taiwan, especially on Christmas Day; there were provocative Chinese moves against Japan in the East China Sea and the Philippines in the South China Sea; and a Chinese fighter jet dangerously intercepted a U.S. Air Force reconnaissance plane in international airspace over the South China Sea.

Moreover, beginning January 28, China’s large spy balloon intruded into American airspace, proceeded to surveil nuclear weapons sites, including Malmstrom, F. E. Warren, and Minot Air Force Bases, which house all of America’s Minutemen III intercontinental ballistic missiles. The balloon also passed close to Whiteman Air Force Base, home to the nuclear-capable B-2 bomber fleet, and Offutt Air Force Base, the headquarters of Strategic Command, which controls U.S. nuclear weapons. This path suggests China is gathering intelligence for a nuclear strike on America’s strategic weapons — and shows Beijing’s utter disrespect for the United States.

Whatever China’s intentions, this cannot end well. Xi Jinping, for instance, will not stop talking about war. The world, and America in particular, need to listen. As Charles Burton of the Ottawa-based Macdonald-Laurier Institute tells Gatestone, “Xi has completed his purge of all dissenters and now hears no moderating voices to rein in his great thirst for military adventurism driven by extreme ideological resentment of the United States.”

“Will the U.S. lose its own composure and confidence to fall into hysterical style of politics?” CUNY’s Xia warns. At this moment, hysteria is not the problem. The problem is complacency. Xi Jinping and Qin Gang, whatever they are doing, are establishing a justification to strike America — and they are making preparations to do so.

    • Like flies on dung. They figure they own our Deep State. Maybe they’re thinking a “splendid little war” to distract from domestic failings.

We’re following the Russia-China relationship closely. They’ve leased great swaths of land in the Far East. Fact is, Russians don’t like China or the Chinese. Especially those with direct experience, like my Russki.

The most bitter criticism of the SMO in Ukraine is the need to lean on this predator. Even a strictly transactional relationship underscores systemic weakness. India commiserates.

Allowing China to “play” mediator between Iran and the Saudis was just an obscene gesture to us. Talks have been ongoing since 2021; there was no “mediation”.

You don’t openly dishonor the Crown Prince of the most powerful Arab country. Astonishing stupidity. When will they take revenge on Jeff [Khashoggi] Bezos?

This is a regulatory failure of historic proportions by both the Fed and Treasury.

Instead of preventing billions in losses, the Fed was worrying about board diversity and Yellen was flying to Ukraine.

      Everyone should be sacked immediately.

This is the biggest disaster in recent Fed history.

Four days ago, Powell was saying he could hike 50bps.

zero hedge – Fed Panics: Signature Bank Suddenly Shuttered; Fed, TSY, FDIC Announce Another Banking System Bailout

6:20pm ET Update: Panic is finally here.

On Friday, we said that the Fed will have to make an announcement before the Monday open, and we didn’t have to wait that long: in fact, the Fed waited just 15 minutes after futures opened for trading to announce the new bailout, alongside even more shocking news: the Treasury announced that New York State regulators are shuttering Signature Bank – a major New York bank – adding that all depositors both at Signature Bank, and also the now insolvent Silicon Valley Bank, will have access to their money on Monday.

And as we process the shock of yet another small bank failure (which makes JPMorgan even bigger), the Fed just issued a statement saying that “to support American businesses and households, the Federal Reserve Board on Sunday announced it will make available additional funding to eligible depository institutions to help assure banks have the ability to meet the needs of all their depositors.

This action will bolster the capacity of the banking system to safeguard deposits and ensure the ongoing provision of money and credit to the economy.”

[…]The Fed explains that the Department of the Treasury will make available “up to $25 billion from the Exchange Stabilization Fund as a backstop for the BTFP.” And while the Federal Reserve – which was completely clueless about this banking crisis until Thursday – does not anticipate that it will be necessary to draw on these backstop funds, we anticipate that the final number of needed backstop liquidity be somewhere north of $2 trillion.

An Anti-Israel Op-Ed Accidentally Exposes the Bias Machine
“To love Israel is to denounce it”

Anti-Israel basis is systemic, but it’s also fed by a network of not only activist groups, but comms operations, many of which are disguised to appear Jewish or even pro-Israel, because that makes them more plausible. These operations are invisible to most people unless you do some digging.

And when you do, what turns up is highly revealing. There are organic participants in an anti-Israel movement, but much of it is planted, bought and paid for with the complicity of the media which chooses not to reveal the machine behind the bias.

    Like the Collar Revolutionary machinery.

  32. Yesterday I was surprised to learn that many of the people were not vaccinated and too afraid to say so. Suddenly more people are talking about not being vaccinated. I guess when the Prime Minister of the country condemns people as racist, misogynistic, extremists, ….and asks if the unvaccinated should be tolerated it scares people into silence.

Trudeau is a disgrace, an absolute disgrace, a purveyor of hate, division, fear. He is a monumental liar and should step down now. He has lied about the numbers of vaccinated and should be made to show the numbers of vaccinated injured Canadians and the number who have died from the vaccines.

1/ @washingtonpost published an ‘investigation’ that claims to show the IDF fired carelessly into a crowd of Palestinian civilians during a counter-terrorism op in Nablus. But our analysis reveals it is nothing more than a one-sided hit piece.…

2/ WaPo relies on witness videos that show a man stretching out his arm toward passing IDF vehicles coupled with two loud bangs. But this man was a confirmed gunman who shot at Israeli forces – WaPo disputes this based on “expert” opinion

3/ The man is seen running toward a group of civilians and BEFORE Israeli soldiers open fire, civilians are seen fleeing the scene – this suggests they were running away following the man’s gunfire and not the IDF’s

4/ In a 3D analysis, WaPo claims slow-motion graphics prove that soldiers in an armored vehicle saw civilians and then fired. But if the vehicle was driving at speed it would have been impossible to see the civilians in question who were mainly hiding behind a wall.

5/ Much of WaPo’s investigation is based on “expert” opinion. One such expert is from NGO Defense for Children International – Palestine, which has documented ties to the PFLP, a [Iran-supported] terrorist organization

6/ The WaPo’s “audio expert” is Lawrence Abu Hamdeen, an artist who runs an audio analysis organization that focuses on smearing Israel in the international arena.

7/ WaPo also fails to mention that of the 11 people killed in Nablus that day, 8 were members of terror organizations. In addition, the vast majority of Palestinians killed in 2023 have been members of Palestinian terror groups

As The Gateway Pundit reported earlier, SVB went up for auction late Saturday night and final bids for the now insolvent bank are expected to be in by Sunday evening.

Shortly after the auction began, users on Twitter noticed that Silicon Valley Bank’s Twitter account was deleted.

In recent days SVB’s Twitter account was mocked for tweeting a Forbes article which ranked the now collapsed bank as one of the top banks in the United States.

  36. Joint Press Release
    March 12, 2023

Joint Statement by Treasury, Federal Reserve, and FDIC
    Department of the Treasury

Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System

    Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation

For release at 6:15 p.m. EDT

Washington, DC — The following statement was released by Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen, Federal Reserve Board Chair Jerome H. Powell, and FDIC Chairman Martin J. Gruenberg:

Today we are taking decisive actions to protect the U.S. economy by strengthening public confidence in our banking system. This step will ensure that the U.S. banking system continues to perform its vital roles of protecting deposits and providing access to credit to households and businesses in a manner that promotes strong and sustainable economic growth.

After receiving a recommendation from the boards of the FDIC and the Federal Reserve, and consulting with the President, Secretary Yellen approved actions enabling the FDIC to complete its resolution of Silicon Valley Bank, Santa Clara, California, in a manner that fully protects all depositors. Depositors will have access to all of their money starting Monday, March 13. No losses associated with the resolution of Silicon Valley Bank will be borne by the taxpayer.

We are also announcing a similar systemic risk exception for Signature Bank, New York, New York, which was closed today by its state chartering authority. All depositors of this institution will be made whole. As with the resolution of Silicon Valley Bank, no losses will be borne by the taxpayer.

Shareholders and certain unsecured debtholders will not be protected. Senior management has also been removed. Any losses to the Deposit Insurance Fund to support uninsured depositors will be recovered by a special assessment on banks, as required by law.

Finally, the Federal Reserve Board on Sunday

    Iran’s navy: Stealth-stalking the planet

On 9 March 2023, a webcam caught Iranian frigate IRIS Dena (F-75) underway departing Rio de Janeiro at the end of an extended port visit that began on 26 February 2023.

Forward support base IRINS Makran (441) was presumably in company with Dena. Although Iran’s leaders have threatened to send the two-ship flotilla through the Panama Canal on this “round the world” deployment, it has been a vexed question from the beginning where the ships are at a given time, and it isn’t clear if they’re headed for the canal now.

There is naturally speculation that the warships will stop in Venezuela next. If they do, they could already be off the coast from Caracas given their departure from Rio on Thursday. They are likely, however, to make the transit more slowly, in keeping with their deployment profile to date.
